After a day or two of visual searching I received a call from Toni who had lost her 14k gold bangle on a walk in Rockland, Maine. While retracing her route I searched along the sidewalks edge until locating it buried in two inches of snow. Through tears of joy Toni explained that the bracelet had belonged to her grandmother who had passed away 19 years ago giving it significant sentimental value that no jeweler could have replaced.
I received a call from Phil after his wife Kelcy had lost her engagement ring while they had been working to build a shed at their home in Fayette, Maine. After finding several nails and a bottle cap or two during my sweep of the areas they had been working, I decided to move the lumber pile they had staged to complete the project, the ring was quickly located when the last board was moved. A successful recovery made the long drive and 20 degree temperature worth it and I was happy to reunite Kelcy with her ring

I lost my VW (2012) key fob in the ice and deep snow while visiting my Sister’s animal farm to help her with some farm maintenance. I lost the other key fob some year ago, so I was not able to drive the car home. I rented a metal detector but was still not able to find my key fob, not to mention how I felt in the extremely cold weather we experienced last week. I thought it was a lost cause. I searched the internet and noticed Ron’s name on the Ring Finders web-site. I called him Wednesday night and he returned my call immediately. He assured me that he could come the next day (Thursday) to search for my key fob. Fortunately, Ron found my key fob in about 2 hours, as mentioned, in extremely cold weather. I can’t tell you how it felt when Ron handed me the VW key fob. Thanks Ron for your concern and kindness shown and quick response.

I received a call from Katelyn. She told me that her husband lost his rose gold wedding ring in their yard yesterday after we received 8 inches of new snow. They have been trying to melt some of the snow after having someone with a metal detector out yesterday with no luck.
I was at their house about 20 minutes later. Mike & Katelyn came out and showed me what happened. He had just got done making a snow angel and was flicking his hands trying to get the snow off, and away went his ring.
I turned on my machine and there was a ton of interference. A neighbor must be sending out radio waves to aliens. I tried everything to make the interference stop, no luck. I had MIke place a coin on the ground to make sure I would be able to hear the signal through the noise, and it works.
I started searching the area. I found the gas line and the waterline. I had a few other signals that were under the frozen ground. Then I got a signal that moved when I tried to clear away the snow. SUCCESS! What a beautiful rose-colored gold ring it was! It took about 15 minutes to find. Both Mike & Katelyn were so happy. They thought that they might have to wait until spring to find it.

My wife got a request for my services from a friend of hers from the gym. It seems that George takes care of several feral cat colonies. On Tuesday when he got home he noticed his wedding ring of 49 years was missing. He checked his gloves, car & trunk. No luck.
We made arrangements to meet Thursday, in the afternoon to start the search, We met and he showed me his routine. We emptied food bowls to make sure it was not mixed in with the chow. We checked the water bowls and supply box. Next, I used one of my detectors, a Minelab Equinox with a very small coil. There are a lot of metal items in the area. The ring was not found, off to stop 2.
At the 2nd stop, George again showed me his routine. We checked the bowls and the supply box, nothing. He said he did throw some trash in the nearby dumpster. My heart sank. We opened the dumpster lid and it had been emptied. As I was searching the area with my detector, I questioned George about the check of his car and the gloves he wore that day. He said I could check his car if I wanted to. He is currently wearing the gloves he used on Tuesday, and there is no ring in them.
I finished searching the area with the metal detector with no luck. I moved to George’s car. I looked in the back seat, nothing. I then went to look under the driver’s seat, and there was his white gold wedding ring. He couldn’t believe it was there after he had looked.
The smile on his face was awesome. He said that his wife told him that the ring wouldn’t be found. This upcoming year will be their 50th Anniversary. Christmas came a few days early for George!

Visiting from Arizona to see her family for Christmas, the recently engaged Fiona, lost her diamond ring while sledding with her younger siblings at their home in Readfield, Maine. After renting a metal detector and spending several hours searching without luck, she found me through the Ring Finders website and reached out for my assistance. Jorge contacted me asking for some assistance in locating his lost white gold family crest signet ring. He had been playing tossing some snowballs when his family ring got lost. He also told me he was located at the University of WA district. After learning this I knew I had to head over without delay. In high traffic areas like this it often does’t take long before passing eyeballs pickup lost rings. Once I arrived Jorge had a very clear report of where he had been throwing snowballs. After we identified a grassy strip between the the sorority and fraternity housing I quickly got setup. The grass strip between two roads was about twenty-five feet wide. I easily laid out four one hundred foot tape measures making a total of five lanes five foot wide each. Jorge even asked the reason for laying out the grid lines. I explained to him that this gives us absolute certainty that no area was missed in our search. He quickly understood the reasoning of how this makes the process much more efficient in the long run. I got started in my first lane and before I even got five feet into my search Jorge called me over. He had been standing in the middle of the grass and had been visually searching the ground between the gridlines when he eyeballed his own ring! We were both very happy that he found it. I have said so many times I don’t have to be the hero that finds the ring just as long as it gets recovered. Jorge did say the gridlines must have helped as we both searched for the ring. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. We both understood that even if he had not eyeballed the ring I would have easily detected it as it was in the middle of my search area. Jorge’s huge chunky white gold family crest signet ring was quickly brushed off and and back on his finger with big smiles. It was a pleasure helping out knowing how quickly these items can get nabbed in these highly populated areas.
