Nancy lost her irreplaceable 14 karat yellow gold .5 carat solitaire diamond wedding ring with multiple diamonds surrounding half of the band. It was assumed that my client lost her ring somewhere in the front yard based on the situation that the couple privately shared with me.

Cesar (Nancy’s husband) found my profile on THE RING FINDERS website, an elite international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in finding lost rings for people. After we talked about the loss of Nancy’s sentimental keepsake, we set up a time for me to come to their house two days later.

As soon as I arrived at the house, Cesar pointed to his small front yard and said that the lawn was the only place that the ring could have been lost. The couple had searched the grass for several hours but all of their efforts led to no avail.

Nancy’s husband and I had a time of prayer, asking God to help me find the ring for the couple. I reminded my client that God was the one who instituted the whole concept of marriage in the beginning of time and therefore I always feel favored by the Lord when I pray for His help when searching for lost engagement rings and wedding bands. Cesar was in full agreement with my Biblical beliefs.

I set up my metal detecting equipment and laid down gridlines across the entire lawn which stretched out all the way to the sidewalk. Lane by lane I searched for the extremely petite gold ring, and to my great frustration I encountered terrible interference coming from live electrical lines in various places buried under the ground. With something this small that I was looking for, it was going to be a great challenge to find the cherished wedding band in the midst of the torturing distractions coming through my headphones due to the interference I was experiencing.

After I completed metal detecting almost the entire front lawn, I started searching the final grid lane located at the very bottom of the property, adjacent to the sidewalk. At that point, I was very concerned that the ring may had been eyeballed by a pedestrian and regretfully picked up and taken away. However, I still had hope in that 3 foot by 40 foot area of grass that remained un-scanned.

As it turned out, even to my greatest surprise, just a foot and a half away from the sidewalk, only 2 feet from finishing the grid lane, my metal detector picked up a very promising signal. My machine’s screen registered numbers that fell in the range of a lady’s gold or platinum ring.

I knelt down to the ground, pinpointed the target with my handheld detector and yes, there it was, Nancy’s beautiful yellow gold diamond wedding band! I couldn’t believe it! It was partially lying beneath the dirt and grass! Even I was shocked at the incredible « fantastic finish »!

Nancy and her husband Cesar were beyond excited and quite relieved after I surprised each one of them separately with the wonderful news of my successful recovery of the 3 year old sentimental wedding band! They were so grateful.

Before I left the house, the three of us (as well as their little girl who was being held in the arms of her father) expressed our deepest thanks to the Lord who helped me to assist this desperate couple in recovering their irreplaceable piece of jewelry that they were incapable of finding themselves! It was an unforgettable time of thanksgiving between the four of us!

Lost Diamond Ring in Houma, LA. – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Carrie got a call from Johnney about 9 am. Her 87 year old Mom had lost her diamond ring while working in her flower bed. With nothing going on for us at the time, we jumped in the truck and drove the 2 hours to Houma. The hunt area was pretty small, so Carrie grabbed her pin pointer to hunt the flower bed and Sid went for the detector to check the lawn around the flower bed. Carrie came up with a hit and the find within 5 minutes. Fast, but not a record for her. Needless to say Johnney and Mom were thrilled, with smiles and (even though we were not supposed to) hugs being shared. Old stories and a couple of pictures capped off our visit.

Thank you for the generous reward!

Lost Wedding Ring Stanley Park Calgary

CTV Calgary                                      Published Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 11:58AM MDT                            Last Updated Thursday, Oct. 11,  2012 7:37PM MDT

Losing a wedding ring is a sickening feeling for anyone that’s misplaced the  piece of sentimental jewelry.

A local metal detector specialist, known as ‘The Ringfinder’, is doing his  part to end the emotional pain.

Kevin Niefer has been metal detecting for the last 25 years.

In 2011, Niefer joined the Ring Finders Network, and is the group’s  representative here in Calgary.

Niefer says he’s been quite successful helping people find their lost  rings.

He’s currently helping Alicia Tropak locate her lost wedding ring.  She  misplaced her ring on September 23, 2012, somewhere near Stanley Park.

Tropak is expecting her first child at the end of the month, and says her  fingers swell sometimes.  She took her ring off, put it in her pocket, and  lost it somewhere along her walk.

Niefer is hopeful he can find the ring using his metal detector which has a  history of locating all kinds of hidden treasures.

“And that could be jewelry or old relics like pins or chauffeurs badges, or  coins,” says Niefer.  “You never know what you’re going to dig up, and when  you dig it up, it’s thrilling.”

“Or it might be a bottle cap.”

Niefer and Tropak were unable to find the ring on this day, but will return  to expand the search.
