Kayla was wearing his ring when she took a swipe at an insect. Once done the ant was gone and so was the ring. We searched and what should have been simple, turned into a two day hunt.

Samuel called me. He lost his wedding ring……8 months earlier while closing the gate at an RV storage lot. When it happened, he searched, rented a metal detector twice and returned to rake. He did everything anyone who has lost something should do. When I was speaking to him, I really had my doubts about it. Time is the enemy. In the end I agreed to take a look. On a Saturday morning I met Samuel and we looked. Based on his description it should have been right there and he should have found it right away. With snow on the ground when it happened, we guessed that maybe a vehicle drove over it and moved it or maybe it was plowed. So I expanded the search area and did the sides of the road. That is when I heard the sound I needed to hear. I picked up the ring and gave it to Samuel. He was totally overwhelmed in emotion and incredibly grateful. When I took a look at the ring, I could tell why. I am glad it is back where it belongs.

Blaine called me on Christmas Eve’s eve. She had lost her ring while brushing the snow off her car in a heavy snowfall. The next morning we met but alas the parking lot had been plowed. The good news, they piled the snow in one location. The bad news, they piled the snow in one location. After an initial check, I realized I would have to try again once the snow went down somewhat. Ninety days later, I checked a third time. This time the snow had melted enough that there was a chance. Sure enough, it was just on the surface. Watch the video for the results.

A couple of metal detecting buddies of mine called me up and asked if I wanted to join in on a search. While out hunting they were approached by a man whose son had lost a cross pendant with his wife’s ashes in it. I didn’t have my equipment with me but seeing that the site was just off my route home, I stopped to say « Hello » and see how it was going. What happened next was very unexpected. Haylee called me. Her great, great grandmother’s ring dropped between the boards of the deck. She looked immediately, looked later, had the boards pulled up and had several other people look as well. Two weeks passed and it was till not found. She called me to help out. I followed along as she shared her story. Based on what she said and the conditions present, she should have already found it herself. I picked up where she left off and couldn’t find it either. That is when we started questioning what actually happened. With a new approach it didn’t take long before I hit the sound I was looking for. Watch my video for the details and the beautiful reaction from Haylee.

Nina called me. Her daughter wore her wedding ring to school. During P.E. she played some frisbee and realized at the end of class that the ring was gone. The teacher was awesome and organized a hunt for it in each of his classes. The ring was never found.
That’s when they called me. Mom showed me around but it wasn’t until Sophia showed up and explained what happened that I was put in the right area. Not long after, it was found inside the area that she outlined. It is back where it belongs.

Katrina called me about the custom Saphire and Diamond engagement ring she lost while cross country skiing near Turner Valley. After chatting for a while, we decided that it would be more of a closure hunt (where it isn’t) than a ring find due to the fact that she covered a total of 10 km while skiing. We would check the places where she stopped for breaks. We searched a lot of area that day. Four hours later we returned and did a couple of final checks. You always find it in the last place you look.

Mark contacted me. Found me on Kijiji but
used « TheRingfinders.com » to make sure I was on the up and up. He was in the backyard with his dogs and when he went back in his ring was gone. His gut instinct was that it fell off when he was throwing the ball. When I arrived, there was lots of evidence that he had been looking for it already. A big patch of snow had been cleared. His words were, « Before I rented a detector I thought I would give you a chance. » Good choice Mark. I have had several people rent a detector, only to tell me they had no clue what the sounds meant. I searched the area with no luck. Then we followed the path back to the back door. I had one tone, which we looked at and moments later another. I love it when I hear the ring’s actual tone in my headphones. We grabbed the camera for the reveal. Awesome. Less than a year married, and just back from his honeymoon, Mark is glad to have his ring back and is planning on resizing it.
Got a call out last night. Lots of snow this week means lots of shovelling and the potential for all sorts of things to get lost. Rings, phones and keys. Ryan was shovelling his driveway and when he was finished he realized his keys were gone. After checking inside the truck without luck, it left only one possibility; they were dropped between the truck and the house and most likely when he cleared the driveway. We talked it over and he described his task as basically pushing the snow off the edge. So I checked the edge. When that did not work, I expanded my search and eventually found the keys. It must have been one of the odd times he threw the snow because they close to 6 feet from the edge. No matter, Ryan has his keys and he can breathe easy. Keys aren’t cheap but even more, the hassle of replacing them is costly as well. Thanks for the generous reward.
