Emilia contacted me after losing her diamond engagement ring in the sand at the beach. She had taken it off, and put it in her glasses case to secure it while she rented a stand up paddle board to enjoy the day on the water. Sometime either before she went paddling, or when she got back the ring had come out of the case, getting lost in the sand. I let her know I could come immediately to search for her, so I was on my way right after.

When I got to the beach she was still at the rental tent, and she told me the circumstances of the loss. She then outlined the area she believed the loss could have occurred, so I got ready for the search. We moved anything metal out of the search area so as not to interfere with the detector, and I began. I think I swung no more than 4 times when I got a real nice low tone in the head phones, I dug, and a very beautiful ring was in the scoop. I held it up, and a very happy Emilia came over to make the identification. So happy to make people happy!

Don’t let the County beach cleaning machines take your lost valuable, call as soon as possible! Lost Wedding ring in Brookings, SD garden

  • from Bruce (South Dakota, United States)

Andrew, the ring, and me

I found the ring!

Back where it all started.

About a week ago, I received a text from a young man, Andrew,  who’s wife had lost her wedding ring in their garden.  She had taken it off ,while working in the garden, and placed in on the console in her car.  This was a community garden and they had to drive to this spot to do their gardening.  While they were in the garden, their little boy, about age 4, had found the ring (unbeknownst to them), and had been carrying it around with him while he was waiting for his parents to be done gardening for the day.  They didn’t know that the ring was being moved around their space where there were other cars parked and other people out working in their gardens.  When they were leaving to go home, they found out that their son had been carrying it around.  They immediately started looking around and asking the boy where he had been walking with it.  They made some calls to borrow a metal detector and had a borrowed one, with not much luck.  They then texted me, and asked if I could help them out.  I set up a time to meet them at their garden spot.  Andrew had been looking for a few days with no results using a detector he didn’t really know how it worked.  He had found some metal, but, no sign of the wedding ring.  When I got there on the day I could start looking, he met me with a lot of frustration on his face.  I started getting my detector out of my car and got it ready to search.  I was parked away from the area that they said they had been looking, so I didn’t want to park on top of anywhere the ring could be.  He was ready to start pulling up all of his tomato cages, and other parts of his garden, just so I could get in and start swinging my detector.  I walked up to the area, near their garden spot, near their makeshift gate.  I started swinging around that area, and it wasn’t long before I got a number on my Garrett AT Pro, that was registering in the gold ring range.  I bent down and started fingering through the tall grass there, and there was the wedding ring that little bunch of grass.  He was so shocked that I found it so fast.  It took me about 5 minutes from when I got my detector ready to the time that I heard that signal.  Needless to say, he took pictures of me and him and the ring, and sent the pictures to his wife, who was at her workplace.  I was also surprised it didn’t take very long, and I’m so glad it turned out to be so easy.  I really enjoyed seeing the smiles, and another successful recovery.  This is a great hobby.  He even posted the pictures on his Facebook page, and gave me high praise on how good a job I did.  The more publicity, the better!

Nick called me requesting my service to locate his late grandmother’s gold cross which he has worn round his neck ever since she passed away. He was playing a vollyball  when the ball hit him in the chest and snagged the cross off his chain. He did not realize he had lost the cross until he got home.

In the morning Nick called and told me what had happend and the only place the cross could be was either in court #1 or court # 2. The cross was found between #1 and #2. It only took a few minutes to reunite the cross with Nick.

Thank you Nick for checking me on the  « the ringfinders » website and giving me a call.

Lady’s White Gold Wedding Ring Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Ocean Isle Beach NC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

On Saturday night, August 31st at about 11:15 pm I received the following text, “Hi! I lost my wedding band today at ocean isle. Can you help tomorrow?” I responded with the normal questions, what time it was lost, where – soft sand or in the ocean, and if in the ocean how deep she was? She responded that it was in the dry sand. At that point I called her to make sure I had all the details and set up a time for the next morning for a search. This is when she told me that both her wedding band and engagement ring were stuck in a pouch on the beach chair. When she got back to the rental is when she realized the wedding ring was missing.

This morning, Sunday, I arrived at the address she gave me and met her in the driveway. She led me out to the area they had been sitting and I started a north/south grid search, extending the search area out on all four sides. She had told me when I started the search it was a white gold ring, so I knew I was looking for a signal between 6-8 on the machine. After completing the search area with no luck, I decided to start an east/west grid search. Now I’d be covering the area between where she was sitting and going across the beach towards the beach access point. On my second pass of the new grid, I got a solid 7 on the machine. Bingo. I dug out a scoop of sand and laid it on the beach, smoothing it out with my foot. I immediately saw her ring, reached down and picked it up. I held it up for her to see and she couldn’t believe it. She was so grateful and trying to hold back the tears of relief. This search ended with one happy young lady, a found ring and a hug.

Jessica – Thank you for allowing me to help find your lost treasure. Enjoy your last day of vacation and have a safe trip home.

Lost Property Markers Found in Trenton Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

On The Fence……

…Was the feeling that came over Walt as the old privacy fence was removed and a new vinyl one was soon to be installed. He was in agreement with the neighbor about it but still was curious where the property line was. After chatting I agreed to locate the property irons and wanted the neighbor’s approval as well. With that granted I proceeded to examine the old survey drawing for the lot dimensions. On site I turned on my Tesoro Sidewinder metal detector and began scanning. Near the front sidewalk I got a loud signal. Probing with a surveyors pin I felt it scratch the side of a metal object. Digging in and flipping the grass plug revealed the property iron! At the rear of the lot the old property iron was exposed but bent sideways from tree growth near it making it inaccurate to use. Moving to the opposite corner the drawing indicated the property iron was set years ago. Finding that one enabled me to pull a tape measure the correct lot width towards the bent property pin to see where the line really was where the fence was going. By this time the neighbor came out to see how things were going. We all agreed that the new fence was not going to encroach onto Walt’s property. To celebrate, as Walt brought out some beers I said, now that’s a perfect way to mend the fence with the neighbor!……Cheers!

Lost and found diamond ring at Eels Lake Ontario

Today’s excursion took me to Eels lake near Apsley, just south of Bancroft. Received a call from Shayne last week about his girlfriend Lisa loosing her diamond ring while vacationing at a campground. While on the floating dock, Shayne threw Lisa into the water and then both watched in horror as the ring flew off her finger and into the lake. The issues were; the floating dock moves quite a bit from its anchor point pending on wind direction, dense weed bed and about one foot of silt under the weed bed (typical for lake conditions in the area).  The good news is that it was in only ten feet of water and they both saw the ring go in. After a two hour search, constantly ripping weeds off my detector coil, I finally heard that sweet gold tone, amongst other metal signals. After coming up about four feet from the bottom, due to zero visibility due to silty conditions, I saw and confirmed that I had the right ring. Lisa was so happy to be reunited with her grandmother’s ring, whom has passed since she’d given it to her. Another happy ending. Life is good.

Daniel and his friends were playing soccer at one of  Orlando’s local parks and in the heat of the game he fell and twisted his ankle.  And as it was very warm out and the humidity was high his hands were not only sweaty but now they were full of grass and sand!  Having been married for only 1 year he was in the habit of wearing it all the time and also had a habit of feeling it with his thumb and spinning it…and he said it was a bit loose as well.  He had no idea that it would come off so easy and when he stood up to hobble off to his car, he immediately realized that his ring was missing.  He and his friends tried searching through the thick grass and after well over an hour he gave up and headed home to take care of his swollen ankle.  Later that evening Daniel was searching on Google and typed « Metal Detector Rental »  and as he scrolled through the options he came across theringfinders.com and found my number.  We made arrangements to meet the next morning at the park.   It was a beautiful morning and as we walked to the field Daniel explained what happened and  was very precise about where he fell!    Within minutes I found his lost titanium wedding ring with my Deus 2 metal detector.  Daniel was overcome with emotion and as he smiled he said a sincere « Thank you Mike…you saved my marriage! »  What an absolute joy and honor it was to help Daniel and his young wife and to be a help and blessing to them!

How can I help you?  Call me ASAP at…321-363-6029 and let’s talk about how I can help you!

Lost Rose Gold Ring Underwater Found in Portage Lake, Munith Michigan

The Feather that Pointed to Treasure……

….Most treasure hunters at least once in their lifetime have come across treasure signs and symbols while researching a particular treasure lead or legend. Some spend most of their lives trying to decipher, decode and chase down the clues hoping to find the motherlode. When Travis lost his ring in the water, he was hoping it wouldn’t take a lifetime to find it. Entering the lake the water felt nice and cool and with the scent of barbecue grills and smoked meats in the air I paused to take in the moment of another summer that’s gone by too fast. On the shore was Travis’ wife Margherita who was pointing to us the area she remembers Travis being in when the ring came off. Out in about 5 feet of water I got a few junk targets, but as Margherita pointed more to the left a huge loud signal came thru my detector’s headphones. Descending under for a minute my pin pointer buzzed on a target and moving some sand aside I saw his ring. Back on the surface I had a mad look on my face and said all I’m picking up is junk, but then this showed up! Travis looked at his ring in amazement and couldn’t believe it was found! He held it in the air and Margherita knew we had found it! Back on shore Margherita walked towards us with a large feather. I said to her that I didn’t have any ink for the quill pen if you’re writing me a check! They both laughed and she said that the feather was found behind her and was pointing towards where the ring was found and mentioned that whenever she came across a feather in life, good things always happened! I said that’s one heck of a treasure sign and I’ll go get that ink!

LOST HEAVY GOLD HEIRLOOM RING IN THE SURF AT VENICE BEACH FOUND & RETURNED

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

I got a text on Saturday night from Greg about a heavy gold ring that he lost in the surf earlier that day at Venice Beach. We arranged to meet at Venice Beach at 10am the next day , so I could have time to search for the ring during low tide. When I arrived that morning the parking was already starting fill up. I met up with Greg and we walked out together so he could introduce me to his family and showed me location of the loss. He and his wife tried to explain the location in relationship to the life guard tower and other features on the beach. I was a little nervous, when I saw the area seem to be about 50 yards long , but we narrowed it down a little and I began my grid search working my way down the slope  and into the ocean . It was very quite, with very few signals, but after about a  half an hour just below calf deep, I got a soft but repeatable signal, dug down about a foot, two scoops and there was  Greg’s ring staring up at me. There were cheers, and high fives . Greg was ecstatic to have his grandfather’s   ring  back on his finger. They even have the same initials which was on the ring. I felt blessed  to be able to help such a nice family. It made a long drive home much more pleasant.

LOST PLATINUM RING WHILE CLEANING UP AFTER HIS DOG ON HIKING TRAIL IN GLENDORA

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

I was called by Joe to help him to find his platinum wedding ring that he lost while hiking Glendora trail. He was cleaning up after his dog did his business on the trail and lost his wedding ring when he was flinging dust off his hands. I met him on Saturday afternoon at Starbucks and followed him  to the trail head in Glendora. We hiked up a steep slope for about 15 minutes and got to the first of 3 possible sights where the lost could had taken place, after a thorough searched with the metal detector of the first 2 sights, and in the bushes on the side of the trail, we hiked a little further to the last location. A few swings later, and I heard a good strong signal, and there was a Joe’s ring under some dirt. He was happy to have his ring back to his finger, and I was happy to make it down the steep trail without falling and The end of another successful search.
