December 2021 Miss Cee Cee contacted me asking for assistance in finding her promise ring lost in hersnowy back yard. She explained that she had stepped outside to take a few photos of the beautiful snow with her newly received ring. Without gloves her hand quickly got cold. Next thing she remembers she was shaking snow from her hands when she felt her new promise ring sliding off her finger into the snow. She tried to melt some of the snow with hot water but even after this she was still was unable to find her ring.
When I arrived it was still very cold with snow covering the yard. I got straight to work with my detector and after a bit of searching located her promise ring. It was another ring saved from a snow covered yard. Miss Cee Cee was very happy to have her ring back on her finger. She told us she learned not to play in the snow with any rings on.

December 2021 Mani contacted me asking for assistance in finding his lost precious temple ring he has had since his childhood days. He told me that he had been throwing some snow balls outside of his apartment when his hands got cold. He then shook his bare hands and his precious ring few off his finger. His buddies had helped him get a cheap basic metal detector but he could not find his ring. The men then proceeded to dump a lot of hot water over the snow in a desperate attempt to melt the snow. With the below freezing temperatures it only make a huge frozen sheet of ice over the ground.
I was able to meet up with Madi and has friends. He explained that this was a very precious ring he had since child hood and that is has the Venkateswara Temple on the face of the ring. Being a medium size yellow gold ring I knew it wold not take too much time to find this one and after a few quick passes we had Madi’s ring back on his finger. He was very happy to have his ring recovered before all the snow melted bing in the middle of an apartment complex. He most likely has some nice honest neighbors but its just more stress and effort posting flyers and knocking on everyones door waiting for some one that might have eyeballed the ring days later.

December 2021Marissa contacted me on Christmas day with an emergency engagement ring recovery. She was quick to tell her story sharing that the night before on Christmas Eve her boyfriend proposed to her and gave her a beautiful diamond sapphire engagement ring. Being that they were from Montana and amateur rock hounds they have a special appreciation for sapphires having found and process them in the past. So Levi her fiancé had a few special Yogo Sapphires purchased from Montana set on her engagement ring for that extra special touch. She proudly wore this ring on her finger and that evening they went to a late night Catholic Mass service. When she returned home late at night she got out of the passenger side of their car and then immediately she felt her ring slip off her finger and heard it land in the soft squishy grass below her feet. The weather had been very cold, it was dark and they could only do too much without stepping on the ring and risking damage. The next morning on Christmas day after an online search on how to find a lost ring in the grass they came across TheRingFinders.com and reached out to me for assistance.
By the time she called me on Christmas day the snow had already started falling. Not having lost a ring like this ever before Marissa’s stress level was now maxed out over her lost engagement ring. I told her I was currently in Olympia for Christmas day but would be heading home the next day. She was precautioned to take the ring as soon a possible to a jeweler for resizing for a proper fit. She absolutely agreed not waning to loose it a second time.

Just a few days later her newly received loose fitting precious rose gold moss agate diamond engagement ring had gone missing. She explained that she had place the ring on her finger while sorting some Christmas decorations in her home and the ring actually fell of her finger onto a front room table. At this point her gut told her she should put it up in a safe place until she could have it sized by a jeweler. However the excitement and meaning of the ring over came her and she put it back on her finger anyway thinking this was most likely not the best idea. She continued working on Christmas decorations in her home for quite a while. She used her hands quite a bit placing ornaments and a new string of Christmas lights inside a special Christmas pig for her front yard. The time came when she went out side where she had strung some lights on a tree, placed the Christmas pig in the front yard and set some other Christmas lights throughout her landscaping. After this she went inside and organized a few boxes and bags full of holiday items. She also remembered accessing her back yard to secure her chicken coop for the night. Quite a few things were very concerning to her as her ring is one of a thiner dainty sized ring making it easy to hide in so many places.
Of course I agreed to assist Carolyn and reassured her over our initial phone conversation. I reminded her in her situation it was good that she had not left the residence and they still had all of their household garbage. So for all practical reasoning her ring had to be some place on the premise and I would do all I could to recover her newly received engagement ring. After I showed up Carolyn’s fiancé took there dog for a walk so that distraction would not be an issue. Carolyn, with great detail, shared all the places and activities she had done must prior to loosing her ring. After a short time searching I was able to recover her ring in pristine condition.

November 2021 Martina called asking for help. She explained that she was in her friends car sitting in the front passenger seat. She had just put hand sanitizer on and her engagement ring slipped out of her grasp. After stopping the car in her driveway the girls were very cautious searching absolutely every place they could however they were unable to locate her engagement ring. This engagement ring came from her fiancés mother and Thanksgiving was just days away. Martina could not bear the thought of hang to tell her future mother-in-law the sad news.
Desperate and frantic to find a solution after searching the car several times with no success lead her to a Google search that landed her at TheRingFinders.com She put her local zip code in and found my listing. After reading my profile page she was convinced enough to give me a call seeking some professional help. I reassured her that I have experience and special tools for this exact type of search and that I would do all I could to find the ring if its still there to be found. I also reassured her I’d be able to search her front yard if the ring didn’t show up in the car.
We met at her friends home where I was greeted with a very clean car.Never assuming anything I had to ask her if the car was this clean during the time of the loss or if it had been picked up at all. She assured methe car was in the same condition since the loss. As experienced finders we have learned to ask a lot of investigative questions to draw as many details as possible. If there had been other bags or garbage in the car this could leading to other potential hiding spots as to where a lost ring could get transported out of its initial location. I as happy to hear on the search that car was as clean as the day of the loss. This drove some confidence that the ring might sill be in the vehicle. Keeping a positive frame of mind always helps with any search. After searching under the passenger seat with my video endoscope and bright LED flashlight there was one hot spot that had to be checked. The HVAC vent under the seat. These are typically like a plastic duct system designed to direct heating and cooling towards the back seat passengers. Rings bing heavy in nature will often make their way to the lowest parts and sometimes fall inside these duct tubes. From there is unfortunately a slippery duct system with smooth metal rings against a plastic duct system.The longer they are in a vehicle the deeper they may go as every brake action can cause the ring to move further and further out of reach. This is why time is your enemy if you have lost a ring especially in your vehicle! Fortunately we have some pretty creative tools and experience in recovery of rings lost in vehicles. It’s not at all recommended to take your car to a mechanic for a lost ring. We have examples of people having seats pulled from a vehicles, large labor charges and still no rings recovered. Remember a mechanics aren’t focused on lost ring recovery and are typically working as fast as possible to get each job accomplished. An auto mechanic shop is not the best option for a lost item recovery search. Being a mechanic myself and having all the tools to remove seats from vehicles I have found easier and better ways of inspection and item recovery reducing seat removal.

November 2021 Mikala called me shortly after Halloween asking fro some professional help. She explained to me that her whole family have been on the search for her missing wedding rings and they could not find them. She went into detail telling me that the family and her toddler were up on the second level of their home carving pumpkins. During this activity she had taken off three rings from her hand and placed them on top of her sons highchair tray. Well after the pumpkin carving and clean up she went looking for her rings and they were all missing. They searched the area they had been carving and tore apart the highchair and no rings were to be found.
A bit after the incident her husband happened to eyeball one of the three rings a sterling silver ring laying at the bottom of their balcony steps. This lead them to think that possibly their toddler must have seen the shiny rings on the tray table and somehow got ahold of them. They have big dogs and their son has been known to throw rocks off the balcony for them to chase after. This gave them reason to believe their son may have tossed mommies rings for the dog as well. This lead to more searching high and low outside of the home but the wedding rings never came into focus.
Mikala told me they didn’t have any experience using a metal detector and once she found TheRingFinders online she soon rather just call a professional to come search for her wedding set.I told her that it sounds like a great challenge and I be honored to drop by and perform a search.
The day of the search was not unlike another winter day in the Pacific North West full of wind and rain. In full rain gear I gathered my tools and was off to another lost wedding ring adventure.

October 2021 Allen reached out to me asking for help in recovering her lost sterling silver keep sake ring she received from her grandmother when she was very young. This ring yet simple in design holds a lost of memories and would mean a lot if she could get it back. She explained that a few days prior she had got up early, went down to a bakery for some local treats and then went over to the public dock. She sat down on the dock with her breakfast and prepared to enjoy a library book. Being that the baked goods were sticky she took several rings off of her fingers and placed them in her lap thinking that was not a good idea but proceeded in doing so. As she enjoyed her morning treats and reading her book the weather turned on her with our typical Pacific North West rain flurry. As she jumped up to move out of the rain she remembered her rings in her lap as she looked down and watched them fall to the dock around her feet. She sadly watched the ring she cherished the most do a few bounces and to her dismay on the last bounce it landed into the marina water below.

September 2021 I received a call from Robert the owner operator of Boat Snake Yacht Maintenance. He explains his line of work is performing yacht maintenance to include every thing from wash downs to full vessel detailing. While he was recently serving one of his clients boats they took a wake surging the vessel and it knocked the gunnel ladder off the boat. Unfortunately it did not land on the marina deck but took a plunge and went straight to the bottom of the lake. He told me he had been searching on line to find an exact replacement but was having no success in finding what he needed. That is when he decided to seek out a diver for hire. He called one of the local marine guys and for what ever reason they provided a referral to call the SeattleRingHunter.
Having experience in Lake Union I gladly agreed to help Rob. We set time to meet and the mission wast set. The morning of the recovery Rob was able to accommodate his schedule to meet me and show me first hand where the ladder had fallen into the lake. Having a first hand account identifying the drop zone made for a straight forward recovery plan.After executing the recovery I was happy to hand the gunnel ladder over to him with smiles all around. We were both happy to have retrieved his clients ladder for the best all around solution. I applaud Rob the level of customer service he provided to his cline. It’s nice to see a high level of care offered to those he services. September 2021 DJ and his wife Kim were enjoying a day on Ohop Lake doing some kayaking. Kim suggested to her husband to take all of his valuables off for safe keeping so he did and casually placed his wedding ring in his t-shirt pocket not thinking twice about it. It was a hot day so when he returned to the dock he took off his shirt off and in doing so he immediately head a few “tink” “think” sounds looked down and watched his gold wedding band of twenty-four hears fall though the slats of the dock into the lake below. In his disappointment as they went to the patio for a bite to eat he started Googling for “Under water ring recovery near you”. The search landed him on TheRingFinders.com directory listing. Within a minute he was able to locate my listing allowing him to reach out for an experienced underwater lost ring recovery specialist.
When he reached out to me I was on holiday in Hawaii but I gladly took his call and listened to his situation. After hearing the details of a lost wedding band under residential dock I reassured him that his ring wasn’t going anywhere and that as soon as I got back into town and cleared up a few previous searches he’d be scheduled as soon as possible.
That schedule did come and we were still in our warm season making for a wonderful day on the lake. Even though this was a shallow water recovery it had some additional points to work around. The lake was still very silty with a lot of particulate in the water and his ring was under a dock. Even with these additional safety concerns a proper dive plan was made taking care for all safety precautions for a successful outcome.

September 2021 John was searching the internet for metal detector rentals and became concerned how successful he would be having not used one before. With a little more online searching he ran across a video from the TheRingFinders YouTube page where Chris Turner had recovered a diamond solitaire in the water. So, John decided to see what this was about. He went to TheRingFinders.com and found my list for the local area. He sent a txt asking four some assistance in searching for his lost wedding band. The next morning we had a quick discussion and the search was set for later that day.
He informed me that he had take his watch and ring off so he would not get any tan lines. He tossed them into the side pocket of his beach chair that only had a velcro flap. After reading a book and pickup to leave he forgot to put his ring back on his finger. After walking down the beach about a hundred yards he realizes his ring was missing. He remembered there was a man with a metal detector earlier that day on the beach but he was no where to be found. After a quick visual search John left the beach thinking he would need to find a way to search for his lost wedding band.
