Grandfathers Sentimental Gold Wedding Band lost and Recovered in Grass- I received a call this morning from a lady who said she was on a walk with her husband in Atlantic Beach when his grandfathers gold wedding band fell flung off his finger into deep grass. She said she searched on her hands and knees for the ring but was unable to find it. I asked her if she could stay in the area where the ring was lost and I would drive right there. The grass area was directly under high power lines so there was a lot of EMI. Gold ring found and returned to happy owners.

*** Marie called me after realizing her heirloom gold and diamond ring was missing after doing some gardening. She had actually removed some of the overgrown ivy in a small town house planter. She was sure that the ring must be in the box of ivy leaves, but she could not find this ring that had been past down to her from her mother.
She found my service on line after trying to get an idea of how to search for a gold ring. I was able to meet her an hour after she talked to me. We could have done the search the next day, but I felt she didn’t need to worry about the loss any more time than necessary.
When Marie showed me the small box of ivy leaves, I past my small handheld metal detector over it without getting any metal signal. She looked very disappointed as she was positive the ring had to be there. I asked her a few questions and that’s when she told me she had originally put the ivy into a trash bag before transferring the trimmings in the box. The trash bag had just a small amount of top soil in the bottom. I quickly pasted my handheld pinpointer metal detector under the plastic trash bag and Boom !! It gave a great signal which turned out to be Marie’s missing ring. She was so happy that she didn’t give up and was able to find someone who could help her. She then told me that she had thrown two other containers of leaves in a big trash dumpster for the whole complex of townhouses. After hearing the other possible areas of the loss, I was happy I didn’t have to go into that dumpster.

I received a call from Daniel about his wedding ring he’d lost on his sheep farm in Roundhill, Virginia. Daniel had shot a deer on his property and was processing the deer in the field. It was starting to get a little late and Daniel was trying to get done so he could get back into the house before dark. As he was cleaning out the deer he shook blood from his hands and realized his ring flew off at the same time! He did a little searching but couldn’t locate the ring, thus the call to me the next day.
My recovery quests have taken me from land to water, from cattle farms and to horse ranches… a sheep farm was a first for me. Upon arrival at Daniel’s property I was immediately greeted by his 3 dogs. Daniel gave me the layout of the property and some more details on where he thought the ring may have been lost. As we were heading towards the location he realized one of his dogs was missing, the smallest guy. The dog had decided to jump into my truck and make himself at home on the backseat floor..sorry buddy can’t take you home. You are cute though!

The farm location had a nice scenic view of the mountains going towards the Winchester side of Virginia. He had around 30 Scottish blackface sheep. They seemed harmless enough except for one that kept a keen eye on me the whole time and anytime I got closer to the herd, he came closer to me….I got the message!

The area was about a 1/2 an acre, not too large, but Daniel was worried one of the sheep may have eaten it while grazing…let’s hope not. I started a general search around the blood pile area and then started to widen my search pattern. After a few disappointing pattern sweeps and 45 minutes later I decided to search in the opposite direction… then shortly afterwards was rewarded with a nice big bang on the detector. Ring in hand, I sent Daniel a text with the photo of the ring. His response was priceless… »Ho. Lee. Shit. » Not sure of the context style, maybe because he’s Australian, didn’t know, but he was thrilled the ring was found and back on his finger.

Daniel, thank you for contacting me and having confidence I’d find your ring.
God Bless and Keep on Hunting!
Bill and Brita were celebrating the day before their 1997 wedding with friends and family that included fun in the farm lake. Cousins were riding horses in the lake and Brita was playing with a friend. She felt her ring come off. They all searched for it, it was even metal detected by a few people. I was challenged 25 years later to recover it. After lots of questions, looking at land marks and comparing them to pictures that day I decided it was time to try because of the dry year and lower water levels and the cold weather was about to move in. I realized I was dealing with 2-3 feet of muck, silt and debris. My conventional metal detector was not going to work. I duct taped my pinpointer to a broom handle and begin to probe. Many trips to the lake probing finally revealed a target 26 inches under muck and 3 inches into the original lake bed. I was so honored to give Bill the wedding ring back which he gave to his wife of 25 years last week for her birthday. She now wears her engagement ring for the first time after being married.

A lost ring was found on a North Kingstown Rhode Island beach! Joseph’s ring was lost while walking his dog on the beach. The dog yanked the leash and Joseph’s ring went flying across the sand. Joseph was on vacation in RI and was heading back to NY the next day. Joseph needed his ring back that day or it would be too late. He found my ring-finding service online and booked his search through my website. I arrived and Joseph took me to the spot where he was walking the dog. After about 30 minutes of searching and cleaning up scrap metal on the beach, I found the lost ring! Joseph’s ring was back on his finger before the end of his vacation!

I got a call from Jed on Dec 20th asking if I could help find a lost engagement ring in a field. I asked him for details on how the ring was lost, when it was lost, and if the field had bushes and trees on it. He explained that him and his girlfriend, Benjetta had gotten in a little spat about 3 ½ weeks ago and the ring was tossed. Jed said the field had heavy undergrowth and that he had been in the field cutting down a lot of the growth. He also stated that he had looked for the ring himself with a Garrett 250 Metal Detector with no luck. Since this was in Myrtle Beach, I needed to call Matt Fye, TRF for Myrtle Beach. When I called Matt, he said he was extremely busy and to go ahead and take the call. I was up for an adventure since I hadn’t had a ring call for a while. I called Jed back and we agreed on meeting at 10 am the next morning.
We met the next morning and had to drive around the block to get to the field. Jed had done a good job clearing the undergrowth out in about a 10 x 10-foot square directly behind the projected ring flight. I asked Jed what metal the ring was, white gold, silver or something else. He wasn’t sure but ended up saying silver. I turned on my Equinox 800 and started searching. Not sure what metal I was really looking for, I cleared all the targets that I found. There was a lot of trash, pull tabs, bottle caps, cans, etc. I also had to contend with a metal fence that was about 10 inches behind their wooden fence. I tried to squeeze both the Equinox and my Gold Bug with a 5-inch coil between the fences, but the metal fence played havoc on both machines. There was a chance the ring could have ended up between the fences and settled in all the leaves that had accumulated in that space. While I was searching the area, I got to meet Benjetta when she stuck her head above the fence. She filled in a few more details about the ring toss. During the spat Benjetta couldn’t toss the ring herself, so she asked a girlfriend to do it. Her girlfriend accepted the challenge, stepped out the back door and hurled it over their wooden fence. That added a little more to the story. I assured both Benjetta and Jed this kind of loss happens more than you’d think. They weren’t the first nor would they be the last to get angry and throw a ring or two. After a little over 2 hours of searching with no luck, I called it a day. I had intentions of returning but didn’t commit myself with Jed, as he was going on vacation the next evening.
That evening, I was trying to think of something to help me clear the area between the fences. I came up with the idea of using my shop-vac and sucking up the leaves and hopefully the ring, if it was there. I text Jed and told him my plan and that I’d be back out there at about 1 pm the next day. He said he wasn’t going to be able to be there and I told him it’d be fine, and I’d keep him posted.
I showed up and stopped by Benjetta’s house to plug in an extension cord and throw the other end over the fence. Pulled into park in the field and went to work. The shop-vac was working as planned, took a little longer because the leaves were soaked after a heavy rain. Cleared out and checked the piles of leaves for the ring and nothing! The day before, I had ventured out in both directions, from the suspected area with no results. So, today I planned on getting in the thick of things, literally. It took about 15 minutes, and I was under some heavy low hanging branches and got an iffy signal. I ended up moving a 4-inch diameter 8-foot tree branch lying on the ground. Swung my detector over the area and got a solid white gold signal of 8 on the VDI (visual display indicator). I carefully cleared the wet leaves and there was the size 6 ½ engagement ring staring up at me. I took a couple of pictures and sent it to Jed. He had told me earlier not to tell Benjetta if I found it so he could surprise her. He was really surprised the ring was found. I packed up and drove back to Benjetta’s house to get the extension cord. She saw me and came out to see if I had found it. I felt horrible standing there lying to her and telling her I’d be back to look again. Jed had text me his address and I dropped the ring off to him on my way home. He had a big smile on his face when I handed him the ring.
Jed – Thanks for giving me a call and I’m thrilled I could help find your lost treasure.
Benjetta – I’m so happy you’re getting your ring back and I’m so sorry I lied to you, but I didn’t want to steal Jed’s moment (again)!

Daniel called Mobile Metal Detecting Service as soon as he realized that he did not know how to use a metal detector, he was about to buy.. Calling Stan .. 949-500-2136 .. Beach Metal Detecting , a member of TheRingFinders experienced metal detector specialists directory..
*** Daniel called me from a sporting goods store. He was purchasing a metal detector to look for a lost engagement ring in the sand at Newport Beach, CA. The sales guy suggested that he contact a professional metal detector guy.
I was able to meet him and his fiancé, Alyssa on the beach at 9pm, 20 minutes after he ca;led me. The story of the loss was emotional. Daniel had just proposed to Alyssa a half hour before she lost the Platinum Diamond Engagement ring in the sand. It slipped off her finger as she brushed sand from their blanket.
To say they were both devastated, thinking it was impossible to find such a small item in the sand. I tried to calm them down, by telling them we had a very good chance to find the ring as they had guarded to area and called me promptly.
It was soon after setting up a grid search area that the perfect signal for a platinum ring sounded off in my headphones. I dug gently with my sand scoop, retrieving the beautiful diamond engagement ring.
They both gave me big hugs and were truly grateful that I was able to rescue their special symbol of love. Smiles were everywhere, even me.
A miracle can happen if you call or text ASAP .. 949-500-2136 .. Stan the Metal Detector Man .. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE.
Ashley called this morning requesting my service to locate her husband’s wedding ring which he lost yesterday while at work. Ashley gave me Nick, her husband’s cell phone so I called Nick and asked him a few questions. I agreed to search and told him I would be there within a ½ hour.
Nick showed me where the ring could be. He was opening a gate and felt the ring slip of his finger and ended up in the snow. The temperature yesterday was -28 Celsius. This morning Temperature was a cool -32 with a windshield of -40 Celsius.
Nick had searched the area but could not find his ring. It was apparent that a truck had driven over the ring and buried it. I had a hard time to dig the ring out of the frozen packed snow.
Nick was very happy to have the ring back on his finger and he told me the ring was very sentimental to him as the ring belonged to his late father and his wife’s late Stepfather. They had been welded together.
Thank you Ashley and Nick for allowing me to locate your Unique ring.
