Most of my searches are for lost rings, cell phones, car and house keys… Today I got a call to travel two hours to a rock quarry in Agassiz BC, Armstrong Sand and Gravel LTD, to look for a broken part of machinery. It was the finger from a backhoe that had broken off and was hiding somewhere in the rock and gravel, out of sight.
This was a huge concern for if it made its way into the rock crusher it would’ve destroyed it completely (weighs close to 200 pounds), not a good time as we are just dealing with disastrous floods in the area for the past week. I didn’t realize how important a rock quarry is and how essential this service is, as without them it would be impossible to rebuild infrastructure’s like roads and railroad tracks, This company was incredibly busy unlike any other year in their history, section of our highway were closed for close to a week and we have lost the use of the Coquihalla highway that is the « lifeline » between BC and the rest of Canada. Most likely to re-open in January, Abbotsford which suffered huge floods are said to have a two year recovery ahead of them to rebuild their infrastructure… The floods caused at least 450 million in damages. Local crops were contaminated, vegetable crops destroyed by floodwaters.
My search took approximately one hour and 30 minutes and I found it in the third location. It was covered up and buried but not deep, they were very very happy that it was found and they can continue crushing rocks and getting trucks out to rebuild the infrastructure’s and help our roads get fixed.

I received a call last night for help to find a lost Ring that went missing one day before he called me. He told me he was cleaning out the gutters when he felt his ring come off his finger, he knew the approximate area but couldn’t t find it. He found TheRingFinders online and gave me a call.
I came out the next morning and he showed me what he was doing and where suspected the ring would be, the only problem was it should’ve been pretty visible and easily spotted. The fact that it was white gold and there was a lot of rocks in the area it could easily hide there so I put on a north south east west great search of the area and after approximately two hours I did not find his ring.
The chances of making it to the road was slim but you have to look everywhere and think out of the box and to go to where it doesn’t make sense, guess what? That’s where I found it! On The Road for 2 days, lots of dog walkers passing by, run over a few times by cars so his ring has some battle scars but it’s back where it belongs! Out of all the years I have help people find rings it never really surprises me where I end up finding them, the only thing is you really have to push yourself away from where you believe it should be and sometimes that’s hard to do when you are so focussed on where these people believe it could be, if you know what I mean. Well the smile says it all…

11:15 PM I got a call from a young man whose wife lost a beautiful diamond ring at Jericho Beach while they were watching fireworks for Halloween. I could tell the panic in his voice and how much he wanted me to come out and search for it. The only problem was I was I was getting up at 5 AM to go to work and the beach is 40 minutes away from my home. After talking for five minutes I jumped in my car and headed to the beach to help them look for his wife’s diamond ring. I made it to the beach at 12:15 AM and met the young couple they show me the area where they believe the ring was lost, he told me he raced off to the store and bought a metal detector and search for it but could not find it. That’s OK because a lot of people buy or rent Metal Detector’s and don’t find their ring, the differences is I have 50 years of experience and know how to think out-of-the-box.
Well that being said after two hours of searching I could not find her ring??? I extended the search far and beyond the hot spot with no success, I asked more questions and found out later that there was a possibility when she took her gloves off at one part of the beach it may have come off then. We searched that area for a little bit but it was getting too late, I had to get home and get some sleep because I was working the next morning.
I got home shortly after 3 AM and got a couple hours asleep and went to work, I started thinking about the search and what I could do when I went back that evening. I contacted Martan and asked him if it was OK if I went back to research the area without them being there, he said absolutely!
After a 13 hour day at work with a little sleep, I headed straight out to the beach I re-searched the area with no luck then expand the search to where she believed the ring could’ve come off when she took off her gloves. I searched there and that took almost an hour of searching with no luck!
I went back to the hotspot and headed towards the water, this was the area that they told me the ring could not possibly be found because she was never in that area…. Guess what? you guessed! that’s where it was found. I always tell my members to think out-of-the-box we listen to our clients but we also have to listen to our hearts and our experience. I knew there was a ring there, I just had to go over to find it… I found it just before midnight and was able to meet up with them that evening and give it back. I was so excited to see that in my sand scoop! What a beautiful ring and that ring gets to go back to the young lady and that story gets to continue. I met such a lovely couple and I was so excited to be able to help them recover this beautiful ring.

I got a call from a young man he said his wife had lost her diamond engagement ring on the side of the road in the grass, where she was playing with her dog. He said she was out there for over three hours looking for it but could not find it, he was on disability from work so he could not go out and help her unfortunately, as much as he wanted to.
After talking to him I told him it would be better to wait until I got there and did my search the next morning, I showed up the next morning at 10 AM and met his wife and she showed me the area she believed the ring was lost. The search area was bigger than expected because she wasn’t 100% sure where she was playing with her dog and it was a long stretch of sidewalk and grass. She did make a note of one house across the street that stuck out in her mind because of the brick fence.
After talking to her husband on the phone he explained to me that it would take a very long time for him to save up and buy her another ring like this one, so the pressure was on!
I started my search and because of the area it took almost 2 hours and 45 minutes to find her beautiful 3 carat diamond ring. I was so excited to see her ring because we were almost going to go to another area where the ring could’ve come off her finger along the walk, I know how important it is to do a north south east west grid search and exhaust the area and I did find it. I love my job! I love how it makes me feel and how it makes the people feel when I find that cherished keepsake! What a beautiful Ring!!!

It’s Sunday around 11am, I’m making brunch when I received a text message for help. I read the message and it said »Hi my name is Travis I just lost my ring at Oak Meadows field in Vancouver ». I called immediately, I asked my questions in regards to where Travis thought the ring was lost and quickly ate my brunch and hit the road.
I got to the soccer field minutes before the ultimate Frisbee game was over and met Travis, we talked for a few minutes and another player walked over and introduced himself to me, it was a previous client from maybe four years back who I help find his gold wedding band. He was so kind to make mention of my directory in order for his friend Travis to get a hold of me.
After talking to Travis the search that I thought was not going to take long could turned out to be a long day due to the fact it could’ve fallen out of his pocket pretty much anywhere. You see Travis took his ring off to keep it safe and put it in his jacket pocket, when he got to the sidelines of the field, from walking from the car he realized his ring was missing and realize there was a ring size hole in his pocket. I walked the walk with Travis he showed me where he came on to the field, where he went across the field, and where on the sideline he went.
Right away I knew this could be a long search close to 100 yards in distance and could be possibly 10 to 20 yards across, I began the process of my grid search and close to an hour into the search on this rainy day people were starting to show up to the field to play ultimate frisbee. Two other teams showed up and I knew my time was limited, I kept grid searching and found the ring an hour into the search. I was so relieved to find his ring because I would’ve stayed for two hours until that game was done in order to start searching again and also it was Travis’s 19th wedding anniversary this Wednesday so you can imagine how badly he wanted to have this ring back.

Last week I received a call from a young man asking if I could help him find a micro SD card that he lost at a a rock quarry in town called Hope. I knew this would be a tough search as there wasn’t much metal on a micro SD card. I did ask a friend of mine to test with his machines because he had a micro SD card and he reported back that it was detectible.
I contacted the young man and said yes I could help but before we go up to Hope (2 hour drive + 30 minutes up a bumpy road to the location. I would want to meet up just to make sure and test with my equipment. Saturday we met at 8 AM I tested both Metal Detectors the AT Gold with a sniper coil and the Equinox 800 in gold mode. Both machines were able to detect the small micro SD card along with both Garrett pin pointers. So off we went to Hope to search for this SD card with all his videos of the party he was at and the camping trip with his friends he hadn’t see in quite some time.
According to the weather report we were supposed to get rained on and we were prepared but fortunately did not have to worry about that, Daniel show me the area where he believed he had lost it at. Unfortunately there’s a lot of trash, spent rifle shells, nails ,wire, your typical garbage. I use my AT Gold and spent close to an hour and a half clearing out the area then I pulled out the equinox 800 and within minutes I found his SD card.
Daniel was so happy to get it back in his possession, I was happy to be able to help him find it, much like the rings I find, this too has stories attached to it and a lot of videos that you could never get back. It was a lot of fun beautiful drive and I love my office and thank you so much for the very kind and generous reward Daniel!

I received a text message asking for help to find a lost diamond ring at a waterfall in Whistler BC. After hearing the story I gave the young lady a phone call to discuss the possibilities, I asked her to send photos of the area. Connie sent me photos and I felt pretty confident I would be able to find this without them being there, what I didn’t know was they were from Toronto and had already flown home and the ring had been lost for over two weeks.
I’ve never been to this waterfall before and I knew it would be a little tough getting there but not impossible however Connie’s husband John was all in for the treasure hunt and adventure and he flew out the night before I was going up to search on the weekend. I was excited to meet John hear the story and have him lead us to where the ring was lost.
Saturday morning I was up at 5 AM headed out of our place at 7 AM to meet John at the location. At 10 AM Beverley and I met John, we discussed the search and we were on our way up the mountain to the waterfall. I got a tell you this is the first times I felt a little stressed out in regards to the fact that if I don’t find the ring John would’ve spent an awful lot of money flying from Toronto to Vancouver and back. I don’t normally get nervous but I got to say I was a little nervous because of the fact that I didn’t want him to go home without his wife’s ring.
I did tell Connie over the phone that they didn’t have to show up to help me as I felt I was able to locate that location and perform my search and hopefully find it and have it mailed back or left with a friend or relative here in Vancouver. That being said John was all in for the adventure and so were we!
We hiked up the mountain for 15-20 minutes until we got to the waterfall, John started to show me what Connie was doing and how the ring fell off her finger. Two rings had flown off in what she thought was the same direction, her son found one ring but they could not find the other. When I arrived to location I could tell it was going to be a difficult search due to the uneven rocks cracks and crevices and fast current so many reasons why it could be very difficult to locate a ring.
I started my grid search in the area the first ring was found but no luck, I kept expanding my search in hopes that I would bump into this beautiful diamond ring. After almost 2 hours John was moving a big rock and I helped him, when the rock was moved away we looked immediately but nothing under the rock, as we sat down and talked for a bit I looked over and saw a little brim of what looked to be a white gold band, I reached over a lifted the rock and pulled out her beautiful diamond engagement ring! I’m pretty well known to surprise people but I got a Tell yah this one surprised me. I didn’t even have the cameras rolling when I found it I just grabbed it and screamed and so did John we were so happy.
John told me that he sat down just before we move that rock and said a little prayer, I’m really glad he did because it was only moments later that the ring showed itself to me. I was so relieved to know that John was going home with Connie’s ring in his pocket, the pressure was off and we had time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and talk about this wonderful adventure. John was a terrific help with moving all the big rocks, makes for a absolutely fantastic love story with the perfect ending.

I got a phone call from a young man who told me he lost his wedding band in a lake at Whistler, he told me he was swiping at a mosquito and his ring flew into the bushes. It had been about a couple of weeks and he found me online and asked if I was willing to come up and find his ring.
Of course I was up for the challenge, it was about a 2 Hour Dr. each way and part of the drive I had to jump in his vehicle because the road was so bad going into the lake that it had to be a special vehicle with enough clearance to make the big dips and bumps.
After arriving to this beautiful lake, Sunny showed me the direction that his ring had flown. I thought for sure this could take at least two hours, it was a very difficult search due to all the overgrowth, trees, branches and big rocks, I thought for sure I was in for a long search.
It was only a matter of minutes with a lot of luck that I found his ring, sometimes the ring gods are with us, today they were! I was so happy to get this ring back to Sunny and see his smile!

Got a text message the other night in regards to a Lost Ring in a volleyball court, this will be my third this year and so far I was two for two. I talk to the young man and asked him the questions I needed to know before I showed up, in regards to the search. He told me his friends searched for a long time into the dark and he bought a Metal Detector but still couldn’t find the ring.
We arrange to meet the next morning at 10 AM when the manager open the gate, even though he had bought a Metal Detector and his friends had search I knew my chances were great. After setting up my search I decided not to use my sand scoop in order to surprise him with the find, it took about 10 minutes and I found his beautiful white gold wedding band and I was able to surprise him.

Imagine losing something so special that was a gift from your father, something that you’ve cherished for half of your life. I’m talking about a gold coin that his father wore for most of his life then gifted it to his son when he was 16 years old. Flashback seven years ago 2014 this young man lost the gold coin out of the setting on a school field, I found that it in a short period of time and was able to return his gold Mexican peso.
Now 2021 he loses both the coin and the gold chain which he took off before playing rugby to keep it safe he put it into a floppy hat in his bag. After playing in the hot sun for a while he ran over to his bag to grab the hat and put it on, forgetting his gold coin and chain was in the hat. After 30 minutes of running around the field he ran to the sideline and threw the hat towards his bag.
After the game he went to grab his gold coin and chain and realized it was in his hat, his first thought was it would’ve fallen out as soon as he grabbed it out of the bag. That was my thought as well, he’s searched all around but could not find it. He was a little embarrassed to call me for the second time to come out and look his gold coin but he gathered up the courage and gave me a call. After talking with him for a while I was excited to possibly be able to return this beautiful coin back to him for the 2nd time.
We met at the field I began my search near the tree where his bag was but did not find it anywhere near the tree, I knew my next step was to search the field and that was gonna be a big job as it could’ve fallen out of the hat while he was playing. But after asking a few more questions he told me that he had I can off his hat and threw it towards the sidelines after about 30 minutes of playing. This excited me with the thought of maybe the chain and coin got caught in the brim of his hat and when he threw it that’s when it came out…
You’re doing a great search and most likely an hour into the search not far from the area where he threw his hat I found his beautiful gold Mexican peso attached to his gold chain, I was so excited to be able to find this for the second time knowing how much it meant to this young man.
I had another surgery scheduled earlier that morning so I went off to do that one contacting him to let him know I was coming back to continue my search, I called him when I was there and said could you come and show me the area once again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything and that’s when I surprised him…
