Lost earring at Coronado Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Nellie called for help on a lost earring that her husband had given her for Mother’s Day. She had been busy all day and wasn’t sure exactly when and where it was lost, but, the beach seemed to be the most likely. My wife and I finished our dinner and headed over to Coronado to meet Nellie and conduct a search in the dry sand. When we arrived, it was after sunset, but, enough light to find ground zero on the beach. Nellie had the other earring with her, so, it was helpful in seeing what it would read on my new Equinox 800. A solid 8 signal….great. I started a spiral search from the supposed middle of the search area. After making a circle over 50 feet in diameter with still no earring (or much of any signals for that matter), I started a straight line grid over to the stairs and back thinking she might have lost it on her trip to her car. It was getting a bit chilly, so, I sent my wife back to the truck to get my windbreaker, and Nellie headed up the stairs to visually check there and the parking lot. I continued another pass, and got that sweet « 8 » sound in my headphones. Ran my pin pointer over the sand and pulled out what we were searching for, even though it was a bit out of the perceived search area. I walked back toward the parking lot where my wife and Nellie were talking. My wife had my windbreaker under her arm and while I was putting it on, I asked Nellie if this earring looked familiar? Hugs all around and a happy Nellie. The sodium lights didn’t help the photo of the earrings, but, they are beautiful! Thank you for the reward Nellie.

Lost Gold Ring in Surf at Newport Beach, CA. .. Found and Returned Next Day

I recieved a call from Anwaar requesting help to find his gold wedding band, possibly lost while swimming in the ocean the day before. Below is his testimonial of what happened..

Testimonial for Ring Finder’s, for Stan Ross, Newport Beach, CA.

May, 2018

Stan is the man who can find the needle in the haystack!  Absolutely an answer to my prayers.

My wife and I were taking an overnight vacation before picking up our daughter from college at the end of her spring semester. We love the Newport Beach area and after a walk on the beach I had decided to take a quick swim in the surf not far off of the beach. It was a wonderful day with our daughter and her boyfriend until until at dinner time my wife noticed that my wedding ring was missing from my hand. After getting back to the hotel room and doing a thorough and a bit frantic search through the room and even our car I was unable to locate the ring. I was upset and felt foolish for not taking it off prior to my swim as I had other co-workers who had lost their wedding rings the same way.  We assumed that it was a lost cause to find my wedding ring of 26 years of marriage.

I woke early the next morning still thinking about my ring and praying that there had to be a way to find it. I decided to do a Google search for “lost ring sand Newport Beach”.  The website for Ring Finders came up on the top of the list. After looking through local people I found Stan’s blog and noticed that the vast majority of his finds were in the Newport Beach area with a significant number of great testimonials to his acumen and skill. I contacted him at 5:30 in the morning not sure if he would even answer his phone due to the time of day. However, to my great surprise he did!  After explaining to him where I was swimming due to the location of our hotel, he was fairly confident that given the low morning tides for the day he would be able to find my ring.  By 6:30am he texted me that he was starting his search at the beach in the area I had indicated.  I met him at the beach just before 7 a.m. and his gracious and focused demeanor along with knowledge of the area gave me confidence and hope that my ring could be found..

After about 30 minutes after I got there, he found my ring!  I was so excited and so ecstatic to once again have my unique wedding ring of 26 years of marriage. A hand crafted gold band not of much value but of huge sentimental value. Thank you so much Stan – you made our day!  We now have a story with you in our family history. To all others, I highly recommend Stan and his skills should you have a need.

Lost Diamond Ring in Bed of Nails at Aliso Beach .. Recovered with Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Sunday, Don and his wife Karina had been at Aliso Beach near Laguna Beach, CA. Karina had put her white gold diamond ring in the pocket of her shorts. When they returned home she went to retrieve her ring and it was not in the pocket. It must be at the beach?

Don took the next day off work, rented a metal detector and spent three hours finding several hand fulls of metal trash, mostly nails. A passerby suggested that he contact TheRingFinders website. It was 4:30pm when I talked to Don. He wanted to know if I was available today or tomorrow? Knowing the beach, I told him tomorrow may be too late.

I met Don at the location, he was standing next to his rental metal detector with a pile of nails, stacked on top of the trash can. He was totally frustrated and at his wits end. This was an area that had been a fire pit. People burn wood pallets that are loaded with nails. In one way I was glad that the possible loss of the ring was in a trashy area, because other detectorist avoid searching these type areas. Another possible problem was Don had pushed a lot of the dry surface sand down a slight embankment which could have buried the ring out of detection depth.

I have practiced many hours with my detectors for this type search. It was a small area but it took a lot of concentration to listen for the right tone. My alternate plan would be to return the next day with my sifting equipment. After about an hour I got a mixed signal which turned out to be Karina’s beautiful white gold diamond ring in my scoop with two nails.

Don told me he had all but given up as he saw me nearing the end of the area. He had walked away to put things in his car. When he walked up to me he was expecting me to tell him that I couldn’t find it. Nevertheless he was surprised to see me hold up the very special ring. Another happy day for him and his wife Karina.

Lost Ring Ocean House, Watch Hill, RI… Found!

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

A beachgoer lost his heirloom wedding band in front of Ocean House, Watch Hill, RI early May 2018. By the time he realized his ring was forgotten on his beach towel, it was already too late. Digging in the sand with your hands to retrieve a ring is a near-impossible task. However, when your deeply value possession disappears, you have to try something! After a good hand digging effort he thought his lost ring was gone forever…

The gentleman reached out to local lifeguards and other resources, eventually, he came across a referral of my services from a 2016 ring find at Westerly Town Beach. After quickly discussing the details surrounding the lost ring, my wife Allie and I rushed down to the Watch Hill Beach in front of Ocean House to see if we could find it. The gentleman brought us to the location where he remembered placing his towel the previous morning. Allie and I began to search with high hopes. Check out Allies story below to find out what it’s like seeing that gold in the sand… Which means someone will be reunited with the heirloom that was lost forever!

“Today I found my first ring! Keith has reunited so many with their lost treasures and today I found his why. It was such a beautiful moment and one I will remember for a lifetime. His wedding band had been passed down from his grandfather, inscribed with the wedding dates of his grandparents and parents! Beautiful! My heart is so full, it feels like it could explode.”

Another lost ring found and reunited with its owner!

Testimonial from Nate Kirk:

« Miracles are possible. If 6 stars were possible I’d give them 6 stars! My lost item was a grandfather’s wedding ring (engraved with his wedding date). I had taken my ring off, put it on my towel to go for a swim (and not lose it while swimming). When I got home, my heart sank when I realized it was « probably » at the beach. I placed a call to Kieth and he asked a few thoughtful questions and arrived in 20minutes. His wife was with him (they both had equipment) and she found the ring in 15min. I cannot express how grateful I am that they found it. He was extremely professional and efficient (pics attached). »

Lost Ring Gulf Shores – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

What a great find today!  Tanner called me and told me that he had messed up and lost his girlfriend’s ring that he bought for her.  He was at a volleyball tournament she was playing in and was wearing it on his pinky for safe keeping.  Unfortunately, when he was playing a bit of volleyball himself, the ring flew off his finger.  Luckily he called me and I immediately headed that way.  It was a NCAA tournament so there were people everywhere.  We made plans to meet at the giant volleyball 🏐 and they showed me where they thought it might be.  I think they were shocked when I found it in about 2 minutes.  I love to see the smiles when I find it!  Tanner’s Mom was there and said that they had been looking for hours and she was amazed.  I’m so glad I could help!

Lost Wedding Ring Found In St Albans VT

  • from Barre (Vermont, United States)
Contact:

Several months ago, during the Winter, I got an email from a gentleman in St Albans, VT. He lost his wedding band 5 years ago, had spent countless hours searching for it and even used a metal detector, with no luck. He and his son were in their pool throwing a ball to each other. He went to catch a fast ball and felt his ring go flying off his finger. He had recently lost some weight and had a jeweler add some bumps to the inside of his ring to make it fit tighter, but it was still too loose. He and his wife’s rings were matching, custom made rings, with a special and meaningful pattern which they didn’t want to cut and re-size the conventional way.
They searched the lawn and the pool filter for hours. The kicker was that the pool was only a few feet from a short fence which his ring could’ve easily flown over. On the other side of the fence was a thick patch of brush and weeds. Beyond that was a paved parking lot to a large apartment house. He and his son looked there for a long time and those neighbors helped and kept an eye out. The thought did cross his mind that maybe someone over there may have pocketed the ring. Sadly, he gave up hope of ever seeing it again and went to a department store and bought an inexpensive replacement ring.
Then, 5 years later, his wife saw my ad for The Ring Finders on Craigslist. She gave him my info and he emailed. I said it would make sense to wait until Spring, when the snow is gone and the ground wasn’t frozen hard. It is very easy to damage a ring when digging in frozen ground.
So, yesterday I went up to do a search. He showed me the area and I began. The ground was full of signals from many years of human activity, toy cars and coins. His son was an awesome helper, he trampled down lots of brush on the neighbors side so I could swing the detector. After about 3 hours, I went back onto his lawn to search some more. I got a great signal, dug down into the soft soil about 2 inches with my finger, and felt that slippery feeling of gold! Without him seeing it, I rinsed it off a little, got his wife to come out and showed it to them together. Wow, such a fantastic moment! Words couldn’t describe the emotions. I love this hobby!

Lost Engagement & Wedding Rings Found in Westampton NJ

Sunday I get an email from Carrie asking for assistance in finding her rings. She thinks that they were lost in Westampton Burlington County during a softball tournament. She coaches a girls team and took her rings off and put them in her pocket that she also put her phone in. Well several innings later along with calls and texts she notices that her rings are missing.

They looked all over and couldn’t find them. They drove back in the dark to look again. She thought that they were gone forever. She explained that they drag the field after every game. I am thinking to myself that this will not have a good outcome. Someone found the rings at one of the games later that day and took them to a pawn shop. They had to be on the surface. Infields are hard surfaces.

I couldn’t head up on Sunday due to a half marathon I was running in and it was pouring in the afternoon. I said that I would search on Monday after work. Carrie would have to get permission for me to search the field. Permission was secured.

My wife & I drove to the fields on Monday. We came prepared with boots that we could get muddy, and it was a good thing we did. The field was muddy and had a lot of deep puddles.

Carrie had explained where she was during her time at the field. I decided to search the grassy area 1st as I thought that would be the spot that would provide cover for the rings. Nothing, very few signals at all. They do a good job of keeping this field clean.

Next, I went to the area between the dugout and home plate. After a few iron tones, I got a good tone, Boom! The engagement ring was in the mud about 1/2 an inch down. Wow, only 15 minutes into the search and I have 1 of 2 rings. The other one has to be close by, right?

Well, 20 minutes later I’m starting to think that the dragging machine moved it very far away. I sent a message to Carrie to call me. I wanted to know if there was any other place that she could have lost the 2nd ring. I continued to search.

Another 10 minutes into the search on the 3rd base side of the field, the 1st ring was on the 1st base side. I get a good tone. Boom!! I now have the 2nd ring. It was also about a half inch down. We did the best cleaning we could do in one of the many mud puddles. We took several pictures.

We left a message on the way home, asking for a return call, not letting on that I had found the rings, As I was unloading the truck Carrie called back, Edwina was there with me. I asked Carrie if there was any other location that she could think of that the rings could be. When she ran out of ideas I told her that I had found them. She started to cry, Edwina started to cry because Carrie was crying.

We met after dinner so Carrie could get her rings back. Carrie and her husband were very happy. Another happing ending!!!

If you lose something, call a professional. Don’t waste your time renting or buying a metal detector. It takes years to learn how to properly use one.

Austrailian Opal Pendant Lost in Horse Stable in Thousand Oaks, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, don’t wait, time will work against you, please call as soon as possible. 310-953-5268

I was on my way home from shopping when Mark called. He told me how his wife had been tending a young horse this morning, when the horse reared up, and one of its hooves hit her in the neck and knocked off her opal pendant. Mark and Farina had been married now only 3 weeks, and this had been a gift Mark bought for her on a trip he had made to Australia. She had also wore it in their wedding, so it had a very sentimental value for them. The stall where the loss occurred was covered in thick sawdust, and they had looked for almost an hour for the lost pendant. I let Mark know that as soon as I got home I would gather my equipment and be on my way.

Mark told me the pendant had only a small thin clasp for metal, so I knew I needed specialized equipment for the search. When I got there Mark and Farina took me to the stall, and explained how the incident occurred, and I got my equipment ready for a search. I must admit it looked like she took a pretty good hit. When I began, I realized we had a problem, the whole floor of the stall had bits of metal in the rubber backing, and I could not get a good signal anywhere. We decided we needed to remove the sawdust from the stall, and put it in an area that had no, or very little metal. I searched shovelful by shovelful with no signal. I think I was expecting a little more metal being involved. I then began to rescan all of the sawdust we had laid out, and when about 3/4 through I heard the slightest squeak in the headphones. I turned up the pin pointer and put it in; nothing. I went over with the coil again, and got the squeak. I put the pin pointer in again, nothing, so I moved the sawdust around. After I moved the material around I saw the smallest glimmer of gold, and reached in and pulled up the pendant. There was almost as much metal involved as a small stud earring; you have to have the right tool for the job. I showed Mark, who rushed over, and gave me a big hug, as did Farina. I am so glad to have made their day; great smiles all around!

Farina sent the following testimonial:

We’re so grateful for Steve’s help in finding the Austrailian Opal Pendant!
It was last Friday and I was working with one of the young horses at the barn, a 2 year old stallion who was feeling frisky, when he reared up in front of me and kicked my collarbone right where my Necklace was. He ripped it off my neck and my blue Opal disappeared in the shavings of that stall. I was super upset about it because it was the first Birthday present my Husband ever gave me and I was wearing it on our Wedding just 2 Weeks before.
I tried to find it for over an hour..( That doesn’t sound that long but the Area where it possibly could have been was so small )..I gave up and called my Mark, my Husband.
He came up with the idea to try it again with a metal detector, because the Opal is held on the necklace by a small piece of Rosegold. Mark looked online to buy a metal detector & was having a hard time finding one for sale nearby. He could get them online but felt we didn’t have time for that since they need to change the shavings in the stall soon. So then he searched for renting a metal detector and came across a website called ringfinders. He clicked on our location and Steve’s name came up.
We were surprised to see there was someone out there who was helping people in this way & we called him immediately. Steve answered on the first call and told us he would love to help us find our lost item. He said he was on his way home and could pick up his equipment and meet us in about an hour and 1/2. As we waited for Steve to come to our side of town we said to ourselves what a great guy he must be to just drop whatever he was doing and spend hours of his time to help us.
Steve showed up as fast as he could, we drove together to the farm and began our search in the stall. We quickly learned the metal detector would not work in the stall because of the metal in the rubber mats on the floor which were made of old car tires. So we decided to empy all of the shavings out onto the ground in front of the stall. Steve was using his metal detector on the shavings and it appeared to be working fine on the dirt floor of the barn but he was not finding anything. This went on for over 1/2 and we had not found anything. My husband and I got down on our hands and knees and started sifting thru the shavings with our hands and after about 15 min of this and a couple prayers Steve turned to my husband and said,  » Does it look like this? « .
We were overcome with joy and gave Steve a big hug & thanked him profusely. Steve is a real human being who is helping people out of a genuine desire to do good in the world and we are grateful to have met him. If you have lost something precious, you should call Steve. He’s like a superhero on his way to the rescue!

I will work hard, using the most up to date metal detectors, to help you find what you thought might never be found again. I search, Beverly Hills, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, Northridge, Pasadena, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Seal Beach, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Venice Beach, and all parks, yards, gardens, and ponds (to 5 foot depths) in all of Orange County, all of Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

Lost Diamonds & Gold Engagement Ring at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a frantic call from Rebecca who was visiting from Happy Valley, Oregon on her 20th Anniversary celebration in Waikiki at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. While her husband Levi was reproposing to her in waist deep water her original Diamonds & Gold Engagement Ring dropped into the water. With Rebecca running ashore Levi stood on the spot where the ring fell. He looked with goggles but the ring disappeared in the soft sand. Levi continued to stay on the spot when Rebecca went to the Concierge Desk for help. After a short Google search they found « The Ring Finders » and gave me a call. I had just returned home when my daughter Jodi handed me the phone and said Hilton Hawaiian Village is on the call. I spoke briefly to Rebecca and told her I’d load my detecting gear and be there in about 15 minutes. When I arrived Rebecca met me on the beach and Levi was still standing on the spot in the water. I immediately entered the water and talked to Levi for some details. He admitted that he may have moved a bit over time but was in the general area. This beach is heavily detected and Levi had been standing in the water for over an hour so I was sure the ring was still there. I had a great sounding target but it fell through my scoop twice so I moved on knowing it couldn’t be the ring. Searching around Levi didn’t pan out so I decided to do a grid search. I started at the furtherest point to the East and worked West. Levi was a real trooper and stayed in the water with me as my seaward marker. I looked toward shore and saw Rebecca with the saddest expression ever on her face. I thought to myself I really need to hurry up and find this ring. BOOM!!! A few seconds later I had great tone and in one gentle scoop there was Rebecca’s ring. Levi is a big dude and he gave me a crushing hug and a « thank you so much ». « You are most welcome » I said. Several tourists on the beach were stunned and made many of the standard remarks. « Cool, Awesome, Way to go detector man » When Levi presented Rebecca with her original Engagement Ring tears of joy ran down her face. These are the best moments of this hobby. Another Anniversary vacation in Hawaii has a sweet ending. Aloha to Rebecca & Levi!

Diamond ring recovery found by Dennis Burlingame

Was asked not to give out to much info on this recovery, got a call at work from a woman who asked if I could help find her ring on the beach. Without to much detail as per her request, she stopped at the beach after a night on the town and managed to loose her ring. Met her after work and we went to where she was, wasn’t to hard to figure where she was with only one patch of foot prints on the beach from the night before. Started searching the area and half way through got the tone i was looking for. After a BIG hug and a nice smile , ring was reunited with the hand it belongs on.
