Lost Platinum & Diamond Engagement Ring at Pililaau Army Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Reshell who lives in Kaimuki on Oahu. While enjoying some R & R at the Pililaau Army Recreation Center Beach her Engagement ring fell out of the beach chair’s puka storage and fell into the sand. Her Wedding Band had fallen too and she was able to spot it but the Engagement ring was gone. Being on the opposite side of the island from my home and rush hour traffic fast approaching Google maps said it was going to be 1 and a half hours to get there. Reshell was staying at the Center so I told her I would start making my way over. After a little over an hour I decided to call her to be watching for my car. Reshell’s went to voicemail. I tried several times with no luck. When I arrived I talked to the Military gate guard and they knew right where to find Reshell on the beach. It was at that time she noticed her phone was in silent mode and called me to apologize and to meet on the beach. We got to the beach area which was very small because of the shore break and thankfully the beach was sterile. After a quick hunt the ring wasn’t where the other ring had fallen as Reshell had the sense to mark that spot with a rock. I decided to start at the rock wall and work down to the wet sand. As I approached the rock wall I got a loud 6/7 tone on the Nox and one gentle scoop and there in the scoop was Reshell’s beautiful ring. Reshell thought maybe when she leaned the beach chair against the wall is when the engagement ring fell out. In any case the ring is back on her finger and she was tremendously relieved. Snowy Family Outing in Running Springs Ends With Lost Wedding Ring

On March 28th, 2019, I received an email from Luigi stating that approximately one month earlier he took his family to Running Springs, CA to play in the fresh snow. They had pulled off the highway into a turnout which had a slope behind it. Everyone began sliding down the hill. As Luigi was sliding down, he put his bare hands into the snow to slow down. He later realized he had lost his wedding ring. They looked for it but to no avail, so they left. After reviewing video at home he knew approximately where he had lost it.

Luigi purchased an inexpensive metal detector and went back up to search again but the snow had turned to hardpack and was too difficult to dig in. So he left and considered it lost for good. Weeks later he was talking to his brother-in-law in Florida who suggested checking The Ringfinders website which led him to me.

So the next day he and I drove up to Running Springs to the turnout where they played and he showed me the slope. The snow luckily had melted, leaving a lot of trash exposed on the ground.  Based on where the slope was I decided to move my truck closer before getting my detector out. Luigi, unbeknown to me, had climbed down the slope. He suddenly re-appeared with a smile from ear to ear saying he had found his ring. I couldn’t help but get that same smile as I  « high 5’d » him. So I was happy to drive him home and call it a day, since he was the ring finder. But Luigi made it quite clear to me on the ride home that it was because of me that he found it. He stated he would never have gone back up there if it were not for the confidence I displayed. He knew I would have found it, but decided to look first. So a great day for both of us!

Lost Ring in Iowa again

Received a message from a guy that I helped last year. His Fiancée lost her ring again in the same yard as last time. It is only about 15 miles away so I went right down there. She was raking leaves and caught the rake tines on her ring and away it went. They tried to find it before looking me up. They showed me where they thought it was lost and sure enough within 5 minutes they had the ring back. This would  be my first repeat customer.

Annville, PA – Wedding Ring Found

I received a call from a very nice gentleman named Sergio asking if I could help his neighbor. While he was working, he noticed his neighbor Violet and her husband fumbling with an old metal detector. They told him that Violet had lost her wedding ring while gardening. Despite their efforts, their metal detector was broken. Sergio reached out to Ring Finders and contacted me to see if I could help. After several days I was able to schedule the search and met Violet at her home. She walked me around her yard where she was working and after about 45 min of searching, I found her ring in her yard. She was so excited and happy that I found it as she was sure it was lost forever. As we searched, Violet was telling me how much more work she needs to do around the house, because her husband of 35 years has Alzheimer’s. Emily was enjoying a day at the beach when she lost her ring. The park ranger had her call Howard Metts who was able to locate the ring within 2 minutes. This is the SRARC Ring Finders third ring recovery on Honeymoon Island this year.

Right place, right time!

I had just finished my time detecting at Newport Beach, and was heading back to the car and still swinging in the dry sand, when two young ladies approached me and asked if my detector could find Silver? I said it sure can, and then Kiley proceeded to tell me that she had lost her Silver ring that her Grandmother had given her, earlier in the day and if I could help her find it.

I asked her to show me the area, and she seemed to know about where it was, but I said that there were no towel marks or indication that they had been sitting there and she said she lost it earlier in the day. I figured it was probably still there, as I had not seen anyone else detecting the dry sand, and there were so many people there earlier, I doubt anyone had found it yet. I said I am a member of TheRingFinders.com and do this stuff a lot, and her and her friend had no idea a web site for this existed.

I asked her to walk a rectangle where she thought it would be and I started gridding it…. After about 5 minutes, I found a ring! I took it over to her and her friends and she said that was not it, and they had found that one earlier when they were searching with their hands! Why did they throw it back? She said it was OK and didn’t want me to spend too much time, it was probably just lost, and I said I would keep searching. They seemed ready to leave, so I told her if she gave me her number, I would text her if I found it and she did.

I went back to the area and finished the rectangle, with no luck, so I started going around the outside of the rectangle, expanding it to see if maybe it was just outside that area. After two enlarging passes around the outside, bingo, I found a silver ring with waves on it. I called Kiley and asked her what the ring looked like (she had never told me) and she said it had waves on it. I said « I have your ring in my hand! » She was thrilled and said « I am right behind you, we haven’t left yet! » and she came over to claim her ring.

Since I found nothing else tonight at the beach, I was glad to have returned her ring to her, and went home happy too.

Wedding Band Lost At Longboat Key Recovered By SRARC

Vicki was on Longboat Key out to get a suntan while visiting her mother for her 87th birthday celebration. She took off her three wedding rings to apply suntan lotion and promptly forgot about them. Later when back in the condo she realized her rings were missing. It was almost dark so she raced out to where she had been sitting and was lucky to find two of the missing rings. After spending hours looking for the last ring her friend Genger, googled “lost ring longboat key” and up came SRARC ring finders. Vicki kind of scoffed at the idea but Genger persisted and arrangements were made for a hunt. Joe Borg, Nick Hall, and Mike Miller arrived on the scene and soon the hunt was in full swing, After a short time Mike got the hit and up came the missing ring. Vicki was overjoyed and off she went with a great big smile to her mother’s 87th birthday dinner celebration.

Laura was at Huntington State Beach with her family all day Sunday. She believed that her Rose Gold Diamond engagement ring fell in the sand when she removed her sweater from her beach bag. Late Wednesday night she found TheRingFinders website while researching metal detectors on line.

It was almost midnight when she sent me an email. She was asking if I could help her. It was 9 am Thursday morning when I read and replied to her email, asking her to call me ASAP. Emails are nice but it was another couple hours till we were able to set up a meeting on the beach. 

We were lucky that it wasn’t Huntington City Beach which has very efficient beach sifting equipment. Also this time of year there is always a chance that recreational detectorist may have found it, not knowing who to return it to.

As we walked towards the fire pits where the ring was lost. I tried not to tell Laura about the negative possibilities that could hamper our search. Laura showed me the first of two places it could be. Setting up my detector, I took a couple practice swings. Beginning my grid I got nice solid signal that didn’t quite sound like gold. After scooping the target, I could see the rose gold engagement ring in the scoop. Rose gold is a composite of metals that gives a little different ID reading than other precious metals. 

Laura lit up like a light when she saw it in the scoop. She gave me a big smile for the photo as you can see. We walked back to our cars and she was full of joy all the way there. She had four miserable days worrying that her ring was gone forever. Now the ring was back where it belongs. It was definitely a pleasure to help her, it never gets old doing this. Lost Rings at Night! – Pensacola Beach – FOUND!

Well, I’m not sure if this counts as 2 rings or more but I am sure that Kelly and Bill are absolutely thrilled that I was able to put them back on her hands where they belong. Kelly and Bill have been married for 25 years and have been down vacationing from Michigan. Kelly folded her rings into her swimsuit early in the day for safekeeping and forgot they were there when she got up later to meet her sister. You can imagine her shock when she realized they were gone that evening. Kelly went ahead and called me even though it was nighttime and I’m glad she didn’t wait. Bill had gone out with a sand flea rake for fishing and combed the area already to no avail. I told him later that he had actually just made the rings go deeper and deeper every time he disturbed the sand because of the density of gold. Luckily for Kelly and Bill, I have a wonderful wife and even though we were at dinner 30 minutes away, she offered to ride with me and we immediately went home and grabbed my gear. I met Bill in the parking lot and he walked me down to the area he thought they had lost them. I could see all of the rake marks and I told Bill I would start my search there and then fan out if needed. I absolutely love night searches on the beach. It’s nice and cool and you can hear the waves over the hum of the machine in my headphones. You can enjoy the stars without bumping into sunbathers and it’s just a great time to enjoy what I do. I also knew that I had a very anxious couple waiting on the outcome so I was very glad that as I made my first pass I heard a faint gold sound. I was a little surprised at how deep it was even though I knew Bill had thoroughly raked the area. When my first gentle scoop to five inches came back empty I thought to myself that they were very lucky they called me and I had the machine that I was using. The second scoop was the charm and I reached down and dug the first ring out of the scoop to make sure I didn’t scratch it. When I saw that I had them both in the scoop, I smiled and handed them to Bill. With a shaky hand, he asked me to hold the light and he took a picture and sent it to Kelly in the room so she could stop worrying immediately. We walked back up and told my wife that I was already done in less than 10 minutes and Bill asked us both to come up and meet Kelly. When we walked in the door I was quickly reminded why I do this. Bill and Kelly both got choked up remembering how much those rings had been a part of over the last 25 years. I was glad that my wife got to witness that and I hope Bill and Kelly have many, many more happy years together. 👍😃

Mens Gold Ring Lost & Found In Southbourne

Maxine & Martin from Southbourne shared their sons loss when his prized gold ring slipped from his finger as he threw something into the overgrown hedge alongside a road. He tried for ages searching through the thorny undergrowth to no avail.

Giving up on his extensive search he told his parents of his loss who subsequently called me in for another try. When I first observed the scene it was obvious it was going to be tough. The thick bushes were laden with thorns & strewn with tin foil, ring pulls & years worth of trashy signals. Our first search yielded nothing so I promised to return armed with equipment to beat back the bushes further.

On my second visit Martin & I cut the bushes back even further effectively doubling our search area. After 20 mins, between many dubious other signals came the unmistakable sound of gold! They met their son that evening & were very excited to return him the ring he deemed gone forever. Martin has made a king donation to The Margret Green Animal Sanctuary.
