Class ring found after loosing over a year ago

Got a call, she lost a small class ring about a year ago in a private volleyball court.

Found out the sand base was about 20″ deep so brought a large coil to punch down deep.

After being told it was lost a year ago I honestly did not have great hope of finding but still thought it was worth a try.  (never give up)

After only about 15min of searching I hit something very deep and found it.

Her smile says it all.

Got a call today from someone that lost his 30 year retirement gift ring, while playing basketball with his grandchildren.
After a couple hours of searching finally hit it, took a weird bounce and found it where it really should not have been, opposite side of the basketball net, must have hit the net and bounced back behind him.   Anyway very happy to get it back to him.

Lost Gold and Platinum Ring Found in Fort Gratiot Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

One Of My « Hits » Went GOLD and PLATINUM!

Well, not musically speaking….lol but on this gorgeous 14k yellow gold and hammered platinum size 10 ring!
This new adventure got started with a call today from this nice lady who was on the beach making sand castles with her 7 y/o son.
The ring was left at home and they went back to get it.
It was her husbands and she put it on her thumb so they wouldn’t lose it. After resting on a blanket she got up and was brushing sand off their son and themselves when the ring came off. They also bought a 1980’s compass detector at a yard sale but only picked up nails in the area of where they thought the ring may be.
I enjoyed seeing that old compass detector it brought back memories of when I used those detectors back then. I set up my MXT and swept the area and got a few pulltabs then got a repeatable signal reading +47 and +52 at 0 depth and reaching down in the cool sand revealed this beautiful specimen!
Their son was excited about what a detector could do so I adjusted the compass detector so they can get the best performance when they take it out again.
Her smile tells the story and for now I will just have to keep working on my songwriting!

Lost Gold Nugget & Diamond Wedding Ring found in Tolt River, Carnation Washington!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

Distraught Paul looks on as I hunt deeper…

« Difficult ring search in swift current of Tolt River leads to family heirloom reunited with its owner! »

Yesterday night I got a text from newlyweds Trisha & Paul regarding Paul’s lost wedding ring. They had been spending the day floating around in Tolt River, very close to where it merges with the Snoqualmie River in Carnation, WA.

At some point, Pauls’s new (to him) wedding ring slipped off in the strong current in chest high waters. The ring was his father’s and was a one of a kind gold nugget & 14k band with a diamond! Needless to say, they were distraught and searched until they were exhausted. Thankfully, they somehow found me online, texted me and we set up a meeting for Sunday morning.

I arrived, geared up in my fishing waders and chose one of my waterproof detectors for the hunt. We hiked from the parking lot for about 10 minutes, crossing the winding river in at least 2 locations. Hiking isn’t easy in waders! Once we arrived in the area, I began detecting the perimeter, testing the depth and current. It was very difficult detecting in such strong moving water, and I was doing all I could not to end up soaked! Once I got the hang of it, I began gridding and was coming up with no targets, aside from a bottle cap and a rock containing natural iron deposits.

I was getting tired and needed a break after about an hour of exhausting searching, but I decided to give it a little more, further down stream. I speculated that how fast the water was moving.. maybe the current pushed the ring further, as it fell, than they thought…

Some time later, I got a hit and had to move some good size rocks with my scoop, but could see a faint, ring-sized glimmer on the bottom! Minutes later, it was in my scoop and Paul & Trisha were very emotional as I told them I had done it! I have to admit, I felt emotional too… this was a hard hunt and it was exhausting to fight the current as long as I did. Especially since I was fighting a head cold!

We all celebrated on our hike back to the parking lot, and the newlyweds were super thankful they found me. I’m really glad they found me too! 😉

Lost Gold Jewelry Cache Found In Detroit Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

The Diamond Ring Effect!

While most astronomy people in America today were looking for the ring pictured on the left, this nice lady was looking for a ring of another kind. She got in touch with me and mentioned that when her mom was ill had mentioned burying some family jewelry out behind the house awhile ago and wanted her to know about it. When I got on site I had noticed many empty holes where she had searched to no avail. I turned on my Sidewinder metal detector in all metal mode and as I gridded the suspected area I was anticipating that sweet threshold increase that means treasure in most cases. With a 90 degree temperature in the Detroit area today and the typical humidity, I got chills thinking that it won’t be too much longer until I got the target signal. The sidewinder finally signaled that metal was below and digging about a foot down my shovel hit metal! We both exclaimed there it is! at the same time as I pulled up a metal can. Handing it to her and watching her pry it opened couldn’t be fast enough! Contained inside and pictured was a beautiful 14k white gold ring, a 14k yellow gold cross with chain and a 14k white gold bracelet!

Then I said…now that’s the diamond ring effect I’m talkin’ bout!

Lost Platinum & Diamond Earring Found In Woodinville, WA!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

« Undetectable » Diamond & Platinum Earring Recovered… Just Barely!

Today’s recovery was for a lady who lost her impressive diamond stud earring while staining her deck a few days ago. She at some point took off her dust mask which probably caught her earring and flung it off into the unknown! She noticed the back landed in between the boards, and then realized her loss.

After her and her husband scoured the yard, and squeezed under the deck to look for it, they tried renting a metal detector. They found out quickly, though, stud earrings are very hard to detect because they contain so little actual metal. In fact, their rental unit could not even detect it when they passed it over the 2nd earring.

I had confidence that at least one of my machines should be able to outperform this rental unit and headed out with all 3. After testing on the other earring, I was pretty surprised to find my 2 most expensive detectors would not detect this target!

My least expensive unit did, but just a barely audible sound would come through, and only occasionally. I started getting pretty nervous that this hunt would be unsuccessful.

To make matters worse, the lawn area around the deck was littered with nails from the sloppy contractor who built it. I was getting a pretty sinking feeling, but I was determined to at least try. Many nails were pulled out of the ground, so I could concentrate on the whisper that the earring MIGHT give me.

Somehow, someway, I managed to pass over a quiet target and it was the earring! We were both so amazed and relieved, and glad that I have a few types of machines in my arsenal!

So little metal to detect!

NEARLY Undetectable Platinum & Diamond Stud! Slightly dirty but undamaged!

AT Pro saves the day!

Diamond pair reunited!

Lost Silver Ring Found in Downtown Detroit Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Bees, Fire Ants and Picker Plants……

Were a bit much for this nice wife and husband who called me asking for help in finding her silver ring that slipped off while doing some landscaping today. He listened to a podcast about the ringfinders and decided to give it a go!
The ring is a gift from her mother-in-law who custom made it back in college, that’s why it is unique and un-replaceable. It means a lot to both of them.
I got on site and checked with the MXT in amongst the landscaping beds in both front and back yard where she remembered being. I also checked the 2 bags of yard debris. We took a break and had some water to cool off a bit and recap the situation. I went back out front and swept the area again where hubby was holding back some foliage and got a sweet silver signal that revealed this beautiful specimen! I’m not saying I’m immune to the conditions on this hunt but the bites and scratches were well worth it!

Leah was enjoying a hot day on the beach in Kelowna B.C., she took off her rings so as not to lose them. Usually she puts them in her wallet for safe keeping, but her wallet was not handy so she put them in the chairs cup holder. At the end of the day her husband picked up the chairs and they went back to the hotel. When washing her hands Leah realized the loss of the rings, they went back to the beach to search for them, to no avail, Leah`s husband said they are gone someone has picked them up. Distraught leah searched the internet for help, finding The Ringfinders she gave me a call, I told he I would meet her at 6am on the beach. I arrived at the beach at 5am to beat the beach grooming machine, I noticed where they had searched on the sand and found the rings easily. When Leah arrived, I told her to give me a hug, then I handed her the rings, needless to say she was delighted, she told me she had not slept all night worrying about the loss. Another happy customer.

Got a call from a nice gentleman named David who was in a panic. On vacation and leaving the next day to go back to Canada his wife lost her wedding set in the sand where they were sitting after putting on some lotion. She was really upset thinking she would have to go back without them. I met up with them after bout 40 minutes and began detecting, within 5 minutes she had her rings back. They had the area marked off with their shoes making it easy to search and locate them. Great feeling seeing the joy and smiles I got from this recovery.
