Wedding Ring Set Lost, Found, and Returned in Saint Petersburg, Florida

Anna Maria and her husband got into a small argument one evening about a month ago. Her husband decided to leave the apartment for a while to let things cool down. He made a last comment as he was walking away and it turned out to be the last straw for Anna Maria. She took off her three rings and threw them in his direction. It was dark so she waited until the next morning to look for them but had no luck. Over the next month she kept looking but never could find them. On the day of their 4 year anniversary she was feeling really sad about her lost rings and she decided to see if she could get some help. She googled lost rings and up popped SRARC. She called Mike and he tried to see if he could schedule a hunt for later in the week as it was raining cats and dogs. She really wanted to see if they could be found on her anniversary day and really wanted someone to come right away.

Mike headed out thinking he was going to get soaked but couldn’t turn her down. When he arrived the rain had stopped but Anna Maria was gone so he called her and got the location where she thought the rings (3) would be. It was in an area that was almost all hedge. He worked over the tops and underneath after shaking each bush. He moved away from the initial area and instantly eyeballed the engagement ring setting in the dirt in plain sight, probably uncovered by the rain. Along side the dirt area were more hedges and also a short strip of grass. After working over the hedges, he started on the grass. In a few moments the promise claddagh ring showed up hidden under the grass. Further searching sadly did not uncover the lost wedding ring. What fun it was to return two of her rings and see the smiles on Anna Maria, her husband, and her mothers faces. Mike will be returning tomorrow to spend a little more time to see if he can find the remaining missing ring. SRARC would like to wish Anna Maria and her husband a very happy anniversary. Two out of Three is not bad!!!!!!!!

Platinum wedding ring lost at New Smyrna Beach, Fl. …..Found!!

I received a call from David asking me if I could help him find his lost platinum wedding ring in the dry sand at the beach. He explained that he and his Dad were heading to a beach side restaurant and as they were coming to the wooden stairway he felt his ring slip off of his finger. He immediately stopped and began running his hands through the sand desperately hoping to find his ring—but it had completely disappeared! He looked for sometime and finally realized he needed more help and that led him to search the internet. Up popped theringfinders.com . New Smyrna Beach is only an hour drive due east so I packed up my gear and hit the road. An hour later I walked up to David and introduced myself. I could see that David had marked the area by setting out two lawn chairs and his bags around an upright wooden post. He explained what happened and then asked me a few questions. It only took a minute to set up my Whites Dual Field and then I made two swings with my detector and I got a good signal. I paused and mentioned that generally during a search I get various signals and dig other items–like pull tabs, bottle caps, coins, etc… But this signal was very strong and had a slight double beep! (Large rings occasionally give that sound!) So I dug a large scoop of sand with my homemade digger, sifter and as I shook out the sand–there in the bottom was David’s 13 year old platinum wedding ring!
It’s always an awesome feeling to help someone find their lost item–expecially one as important as a wedding ring!

Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring Lost, Recovered, and Returned at Fred Howard Beach in Tarpon Springs

Brittany was at Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs enjoying the day with family. She put her engagement ring on her bag so she could put sunscreen on her daughter. She looked up to see her young daughter running towards the water. When it was time to leave she forgot that the ring was on the bag. Packed up and headed home. Realizing later that the ring was gone she was devistated. A friend of hers heard about it and contacted his friend and SRARC member Mark Prue. Mark couldn’t get away so he contacted another member Stan Flack. Stan and his wife Linda headed up to the beach to search. After an hour drive it only took 10 minutes for Stan to recover and reunite it with Brittney.
SRARC wishes her and her future husband all the best and are happy that we could make the journey a little bit smoother!
Thanks to the Flacks for being so willing to share of your time and talents.

In the News – Pro Helps Briggsville Man Find Cherished Ring

Check out this newspaper article about a recent lost ring find.  This was a great hunt and proof that a ring is not always where you think it was lost.  We spent a good hour searching the inside of an animal pen looking for 45 year old wedding band lost while spreading a bale of hay.  After searching the area 2 to 3 times, multiple different ways for close to 2 hours – I asked where else Jim might have been the day he lost his wedding ring.  After 5 mins of looking in this different area, I spotted the ring.  I called Jim over and handed him my handheld metal detector and let him find it.  Check out the link below for the full story of this lost ring including video of the hunt – the expression on Jim’s face when he found his ring is priceless and the reason we do what we do.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA…Found.

David called me yesterday evening, saying he had lost his wedding ring while playing volleyball at the beach, and wondered if I could help him. He was with a group from work that had traveled from Toronto Canada to participate in team building. I was just sitting in my easy chair, wondering what I was going to have for dinner, and told him I could be there in 30 minutes. I know it is so important to search for lost rings at the beach as soon as possible, because time is the one thing that works against finding them. We agreed on the location, and I was on my way.

David was waiting for me when I arrived, and we got right to the spot. As I asked my questions, he showed me where he was standing, and how he went to hit the ball before the ring flew off. He showed me the area he believed the ring would have gone to, which was when I told him it might surprise him, as to where the ring may have landed. This is because, sometimes the ring does things just the opposite of what we think it will do when it comes off of our fingers. I began the search, one line of the grid, and then went backwards from the direction he indicated to grid the second line, when at the middle of the second line I found his ring. He was surprised at the location, and that the ring was found so quickly. He was glad to have his ring back, and I was happy to have made his day.

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, call as soon as possible. I will work hard to help you find what you thought might never be found again. I search,  Beverly Hills, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Seal Beach, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Venice Beach, and all parks, yards, gardens, and ponds (to 5 foot depths) in all of Orange County, all of Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring Lost and Found, then returned on Clearwater Beach, Florida

Amy was in town visiting her sister’s family at their beach house on Clearwater Beach. On Wednesday night she remembered taking her engagement ring off when she went to bed and did not remember putting it back on Thursday morning even though her mother had seen it on her finger while visiting on Thursday. That night Amy realized that the ring was missing. The whole family searched everywhere on the property and could not find the ring. They even brought all the trash back in and went through it.

Amy had to leave the following morning but once she got home she found SRARC and called Tom pleading for help. It seemed to Tom like a wild goose chase but he agreed to come out and search the yard if for no other reason but to disprove the chance that it could be in the yard around the pool.

Tom arrived and met Amy’s Brother in Law Mike. He immediately went to work with his detector and pin pointer searching the gravel area around the pool with no luck. He then went outside the yard and started searching the area around the parking spot. Eventually reaching the trash canister as his detector was swinging over the gravel near the trash the setting sun bounced off something in the grass just 4 feet from the trash. It was Amy’s diamond ring. At that same time Mike came out to Tom and asked “No luck yet hey?” Tom said look right there as he had not even picked the ring up yet.

Mike called Amy to tell her the good news. She answered and could not believe that the ring had been found and broke out into tears of Joy.

Gary reported they had spent some time on the island this weekend, and in the process his wife had accidentally lost her wedding ring. Lost Gold Wedding Band at Ko Olina Aulani Disney Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

Brads ring in Canada
Brads ring
This ring find started on Thursday 7 April while I was looking for a lost Wedding Band at the Aulani Disney Resort. I was approached by a man who told me another gentleman lost his Wedding Band a bit further down the beach in the water. Being a fresh drop and with the tide coming in I immediately followed him to Brad from British Columbia, Canada who was frantically looking with a mask & snorkel for his ring. He showed me the general area. In about neck deep water he was swimming when the ring fell off. I searched as far as I could with my Excal on mask & snorkel but didn’t find Brad’s ring. Brad was leaving for Canada the next morning so I told him to leave his contact data with the concierge desk and that I would come back the next morning with scuba to retrieve his ring. I also told him to look up my Metal Detecting Oahu Facebook page and I would post a pic of his ring after it was found to confirm. Friday morning I arrived and entered the area. After about ten minutes and a few coin targets I got a decent tone. With a wave of my hand the sand slipped away and exposed Brad’s ring. He mentioned it was white gold and had two grooves around the ring. This was it. I washed and dried off then went to the concierge desk. There was no information there about Brad. I only had one other hope…maybe Brad would look on my Facebook page. I posted the pic and left a message for Brad to contact me. It worked! That evening Brad sent me a message stating they were in such a rush the next morning he didn’t have time to leave info with the concierge. I was leaving for San Diego so my wife mailed Brad’s ring back to him in Canada. In the pic he sent me you can see the ring with a Smile & a Shaka. Aloha to Brad!
