Large Platinum Men’s Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in West Chester, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Joseph found me in the Ring Finder directory. The week before he was having a wonderful time  kayaking the Brandywine River in West Chester, PA when tragedy struck! He pulled to the side to assist his wife with her canoe and while doing so he heard something bang and bounce off his kayak. About 60 seconds later and 5 yards down river he suddenly realized his large platinum wedding band was missing. It was obvious that the sound he heard was his ring bouncing off the kayak and into the river. He sent his family ahead to continue down river and stayed back and searched for his ring in the 1-2 feet deep water but had no luck. He and his wife returned several times during the week with handheld pinpointer metal detectors to try to locate the lost ring. At some point Joseph’s wife suggested hiring a professional and they got in touch with me. I met Joseph on a Saturday morning (exactly 1 week after the ring was lost) and we marched upstream 10-15 minutes to the site where Joseph was positive the ring dropped. He re-enacted what occurred and gave me some accurate and detailed parameters of where he was standing when the ring fell off. I was using my Minelab Manticore metal detector with a large search coil. A large platinum wedding band has a unique booming signature on my machine…and i knew exactly what signal I was listening and hoping for. Well…its didn’t take long…10 minutes into search…BOOM…there was the signal I was hoping for. I yelled to Joseph and pointed down…I told him I like the signal. I got out my pin pointer and searched the 1 foot deep water….my pinpointer buzzed that it was hitting metal. I moved several small rocks….THERE IT WAS! I think Joseph saw it shimmering in the water before I did! We both let out a few whoops and hollers and celebrated with high fives! EPIC! So happy to come through for Joseph and get his ring back on hos finger where it belongs!!!

Beautiful Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Lewes, DE!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

This nice couple was referred to me by fellow Ring Finder, John Favano. Lauren and her husband were enjoying a beautiful summer day on a Lewes bay beach when tragedy struck!  Her husband was tossing a ball back and forth while standing in knee deep water when he felt, saw and heard his ring fly off and « kerplunk » into the water at his feet. After looking for quite a bit they decided to track down a professional metal detectorist…I got the call around 4 pm Saturday and just happened to be on the beach 10 minutes away! I ran over and went straight to work…after finding quite a few bottle caps and pull tabs … about 20 minutes into the search I finally got the wedding band signal I was hoping for. After several attempts to scoop the target in 2 feet of water…I finally got it into the scoop. Looking down…I raised the scoop in triumph….there on top of all the sand in the scoop was a beautiful ring! I was very happy to be able to help this awesome couple!!!

Beautiful Gold/Onyx Signet Ring Lost, Recovered and Returned in Middletown, DE!!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Brandon was a referral from fellow Ring Finder, Alan Seeney. Brandon got in touch after losing a very sentimental gold ring in his friends backyard in Middletown, DE. The ring was was on a chain around his neck when he was horsing around with some kids. He discovered at some point the chain broke and the ring dropped. He and his friends searched for hours. He even purchased a metal detector in hopes of finding himself. Countless folks purchase or rent a metal detector in an attempt to find themselves but in most cases they end up calling a ring finder anyway. The experience of the detectorist is more important then the machine….though the machine is important too. I arrived at Brandon’s friends house later that same day and set my Minelab Manticore Metal Detector for gold…and went to work scanning that backyard. A gold ring on the surface has a very unique, booming signal…so I knew the signal I was listening for. 10 minutes into the search….BOOM…the signal I was hoping for. I looked down and there was this large beautiful gold ring!!! I was very happy to be able to find Brandon’s ring for him!

After finding me in the Ring Finder Directory we agreed to meet in his backyard Monday afternoon. After a quick tour and detailed description of how he thought he lost his ring  I went to work. Gold Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Wilmington, DE!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Jim reached out to me after finding me in the Ring Finders directory. He was saddened and upset to notice his 37 year old wedding band had disappeared off his finger…when, where and how it disappeared was a mystery to him. The only thing he could think of was that it fell off while he was doing some yard work (taking his gloves on and off) in his backyard in Wilmington, DE several days earlier. He figured it was long shot and had little confidence it would be found but decided to give a professional a shot. He also spent several hours searching himself on his hands and knees. I arrived at his home that Sunday afternoon…as I always do…I demonstrated with my metal detector and my own wedding band what a gold band would sound like if I went over it. I want my clients to know that if they put me over the missing ring…I wont miss it! Jim showed me the area he was working…it was part backyard lawn and part woods…not a large search area. I was 10 minutes into the search and had covered 90% of the yard when…BOOM…there was the signal I was hoping for in the deep grass. I looked down and I could see the ring in the deep grass…I asked Jim who was standing nearby…if I could ask him another question…when he came over I pointed down and asked « is that your ring? » The relief and joy on his face was priceless!!!

Fellow Ring Finder, John Favano, referred Jamie to me. Time was of the essence on this one! Jamie was extremely stressed and upset over his lost gold wedding band…a wedding band he had been wearing for 38 years year straight and sadly, one in which he continued to wear in honor of his recently deceased wife. Oh…we were going to find this one…no matter what! Jamie was driving down his quiet community street with his left arm out the window….when he felt his ring slip off…and heard it bounce (once) on the street below. He immediately pulled to the side of road…thinking he would find after a quick search. But when he could not locate it he had a crowd of family and friends join in the search on hands and knees and they searched for hours. I showed up 60 minutes later with several metal detectors to assist in the search. Jamie described all the details involved when losing the ring…we even re-enacted the loss with him driving down the road and dropping a washer to simulate the ring. I firstly scanned the 3 small grassy front yards right where he said the ring slipped off…a gold ring on the surface has a very unique signature on my Minelab Manticare metal detector…and I knew for sure it was not in one of those areas. Time to expand the search…maybe the ring bounced and rolled farther away than anyone thought??? I walked 30 yards farther to another grassy area bordering the street…and boom…I got the gold ring signal I was hoping for. I looked down and saw his large gold ring sitting on top of the grass…I called at Jamie who was sitting looking dejected down the street and said I had another question  for him…he walked up to me and I said my question is « is that your ring »…pointing downward. Man…not sure I ever saw a guy look so relieved…he then become overpowered by emotion. It was very satisfying to be able come through for this kind and caring man.

Large Platinum Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in West Chester, PA!!!

Steve found me in The Ring Finder directory and was seeking help in locating his lost platinum wedding band. He was doing some yard work in the backyard of his home in West Chester, PA when his ring slipped off his finger. Prior to reaching out to me he attempted to find the ring himself with a cheap metal detector. I told him that I quite frequently get calls for help after folks buy or rent a detector. What I tell most people is the machine itself is important (and I have all top of the line machines!) but not as important as the experience of the operator! You have to know what to listen for! Anyway, I met Steve at his home a few days later and he showed me where he was working. I took a few minutes to demonstrate my machine…utilizing my own platinum wedding band to let him hear the signal I would be searching for. He thought maybe it flew off while he was tossing sticks into a pile…but the area where he was doing that wasn’t really an area that would obscure the ring. He would have found it with his eyes. He was also picking up brush, sticks and carrying them across the deep grass of his back yard….I thought that was more likely the area the ring would be found. Sure enough 10 minutes into searching the grass I got the beautiful signal I was searching for! I bent down and searched the deep grass…and there was his beautiful, large platinum band!!! The look of joy and relief on Steve’s face was epic!!!

Will reached out to me after finding me in The Ring Finder directory. He was looking for help in locating his wife’s beautiful gold and diamond wedding band. Apparently they were spending the afternoon at a Philadelphia park when her ring came up missing. Will was quite certain he knew the area of the park where the ring was lost. I told him I would meet him at the park early the next morning. Upon my arrival on Sunday morning (Mother’s Day!) Will showed me the area where he felt the ring became lost. I spent some time manipulating the settings on my Minelab Manticore metal detector and also demonstrated for Will what the signal I would be looking for would sound like…I brought a small gold band with me to do so. I wanted him to feel confident that if I went over his wife’s ring with my machine I would not miss it! Well….10 minutes into the search we got that exact signal! I looked down and there was the ring! Will was standing nearby looking at me in disbelief! Will looked so relieved…and was crazy happy he could return his wife’s ring to her on Mother’s Day!!!

Gold Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Wayne, PA!!!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Rich was enjoying the spring weather with his wife and young son at a park in Wayne, PA. After some action on the playground he took a break at a picnic table. While sitting he felt his gold wedding band slip off and drop straight down into the grass under the picnic table. After a frustrating hour of searching he gave up and called me after finding me online in The Ring Finder directory. I was 30 minutes away and told him I would see him at 6:30 pm that same day. When I got there the first thing we did was move the heavy picnic table out of the way…then I set my machine for « gold only ». Less than 5 minutes later…his ring was back on his finger! He couldn’t believe he couldn’t find with his eyes but in his defense the ring did blend in with the yellow grass!!!
