Lost gold ring, FOUND! Cape May, NJ By Jeffrey Laag
I received a call from Phil yesterday just ahead of an incoming storm. Phil explained that he was exiting the ocean and shook off his hands when his wedding ring slipped off and was immediately swallowed up by a passing wave. Phil and his wife searched the shallow with no success. Given the time of day, current tide schedule and approaching storm I decided it would be best to attempt recovery during this morning low tide. Phil did an excellent job of marking the area with a pin and taking reference photos. This morning I arrived on the beach at Phils pinned location and began searching. After about an hours time I swung my coil over Phils ring and recovered it from approx 14” down in the sand! Phil and his family finished breakfast and met me on Decatur St beach, here in Cape May and retrieved his ring. Another successful recovery, another saved vacation!
