Lost Sterling Silver Thumbprint Ring Found in Wooster, Ohio!

  • from Wooster (Ohio, United States)

Saturday morning I woke up to a missed call and text from Chris. The text said he had lost a ring in Wooster, Ohio and asked if I’d be interested in helping him recover it. I messaged him immediately and he called me right back. His wife had been cleaning snow off her car the night before and the ring flung off. He explained that the ring had tremendous sentimental value, as they had lost their son a few years back and this was a memory ring they’d had made through the funeral home with their son’s thumbprint on it. They had searched the car and the immediate area, but no luck. He called around to several friends to inquire if anyone had a metal detector and then he did a little searching online and found The Ring Finders. Within the hour we arrived at Chris’s house. He showed us where she’d been parked the night before and we got to work. There was a lot of interference, with the driveway, porch steps and a drainage pipe all within the tight search area. After the first couple of swings, I switched my Deus to a modified “fast” program and within two minutes I located the ring about two feet from the driveway and two inches from the drainage pipe! Chris rushed in to get his wife, who did not know we had found it yet. She came out to the garage and, as he was introducing us, I handed her the ring. The look on her face was priceless as she grasped the ring and held it to her chest, thanking us. This is why we do what we do! That look, that moment…there is nothing like it! The whole thing (from initial contact to handing her the ring) took less than an hour, but that moment will last forever!

Glendon Beach **** Tiffany @ Co band Returned

Rick and I received a call about a Tiffany @ Co. Sterling ring, it was lost in the ocean the day before in rough seas. We made our way down to the localbeach and met Brian, Stefanie and Nick. I had Brian go out into the water, and stand where he presumed he lost it and asked him to not move so I would have a reference point. Rick made a couple of circles around Brian, I moved in closer because Brian said the water was chest deep, but the waves were huge. So with that clue I walked in about 10 feet closer towards the beach, had a  great signal, and it was found sitting in my scoop. We walked back in, and the beach goers were clapping and cheering. Always a great feeling to return a ring that has so much sentimental value.Congratulations Brian… Get that ring re sized  LOL Leighton 🙂

While out searching for coins and jewelry in the water Rick Browne (Ring Finder) & I were approached by a gentleman named Matt. He asked if we were The Ring Finders from Cape Cod. We both responded YES with enthusiasm. We asked why? He said that his daughter, had lost her precious necklace the day before, and had we found it? We asked if it was in the water, or sand, and he said sand. We hadn’t done the sand area as of yet so let’s give it a try.

We met Matt’s wife Ronni, Abby his daughter, they were all on vacation from New Jersey. I asked Abby to stand where she last saw it the day before. They had been searching with flashlights the night before for over an hour with no luck. Just about then, Rick was already digging a target, and I had a target too. I dug down, and out popped Abby’s chain, with it had a Birth date, Moon phase Medallion attached to it. Abby and Ronni were emotional as one can expect. Congratulations all around for everyone. People clapped as I handed it back to Abby, Rick and I were so happy to be in the rite spot, at the time when needed. Congratulations, to Abby, her Mom Ronni, and Dad Matt, for not giving up and believing. Sincerely Leighton
