Matthew contacted me telling me he had just lost his wedding band over a patch of ivy and wanted to know if I could be of help locating it. He told me his family has a commercial sign business and while working a job in Lacey, WA with his father he lost his gold wedding ring. He told me he had recently been working out getting in fit as in a few months he would be off to the National Guard so the ring was now loose fitting. He also told me that his wedding anniversary was just a few weeks away and his wife was concerned about his missing wedding ring.

He remembered having the ring on while working and had become a bit concerned about it slipping off and then seemed to notice something was missing. Sure enough his ring had slipped off while working over the ivy.

Mathew and his father had spent over an hour poking through the ivy and could not locate his ring. At this point they knew they had to get someone with some experience involved. They did an internet search and found TheRingFinders.com and noticed my listing.

Matthew told me he was leaving town later that afternoon. I assured him and he agreed no one would randomly find his ring. I also informed him that I had availability later that same afternoon. I told him based on the information he provided I would head out and start the search and if needed I would contact him for any additional details as necessary. He agreed and the search effort was set in motion.

Watch the rest of the story of how Matthew’s gold wedding ring is recovered.

Tyreece called and told me that his fiancé was swimming in Lake Campbell at their neighbors backyard dock. While she was wading in the water her young daughter, also in the water, reached out for her mother’s hand and pulled her precious engagement ring straight off her finger. This rings is a 100 year old white gold diamond family heirloom engagement ring. Fortunately Silver was able to report that she felt the ring being pulled from her finger and bouncing down her leg to the bottom of the lake. She put a dive mask on and swam under water a several times looking around but could see absolutely nothing due to the poor visibility. As so many others can attest it quickly becomes very discouraging to say the least when something so sentimental is lost in the water like this. The fear that it will never be found can be quite overwhelming to many people.

However after a quick Google search the couple did find TheRingFinders.com directory and gave me a call. They reported that that water was not all that deep but the visibility was terrible. I assured them that this is a typical situation for me that I have developed quite a bit of experience searching for rings and small items of value in crappy conditions like this. I reassured them I would bering all my water recovery gear including my full SCUBA kit so we would have every possible opportunity of a successful recovery.

After showing up I was quite surprised to see how much bloom and silt was in the water. Fortunately Silver told me that she found the bottom of the lake to be more of a firm dirt composition apposed to a thick silty mess. This was encouraging to me that her ring would be a bit easier once I acquired it position with my dive detector.

As soon as I noticed how much silt and bloom was in the lake upon my arrival I knew I needed to construct my PVC search grid. Once again it paid dividends keeping me focused on a concise grid search not missing an inch. It was also a big help that Silver realized when her ring was pulled off from her finger and got me directly over the drop zone.

Watch the conclusion of this exciting recovery story and witness Silver’s excitement when she gets her family heirloom engagement ring back!

Jeff Morgan

Gold Heirloom Wedding Ring Lost at Sea 19 Days Westport WA

Jonathan contacted me explaining a few weeks prior he and his wife were surfing at Westport WA. He told me that he stashed all of his gear on the big rocks near the shore line. However when he started walking in the surf he was concerned about his gold heirloom wedding ring. At this moment when he went to check his ring it got loose and fell off his finger. He watched it fall into the ocean water and was devastated. He then spent a lot of focused time and energy searching the sands hoping to find his ring. Even after purchasing a pair of swim goggles and returning the next day at low tide to no avail Jonathan was not able to locate his gold wedding band. After this experience he did an online search on metal detecting for a lost ring. He found TheRingFinders.com website and started calling for help. A few other finders were unable to assist and Jonathan was told to give me a call. I answered the call and the hunt was on! I scheduled the hunt for an early morning tide with a two and a half hour drive with nothing more than a hope and a prayer that the cell service was good enough to support a face time video call. Jonathan stayed in Seattle as I headed out to the beach in the middle of the night. I reminded him to keep his phone on so I could call him once I arrived on the beach.

Fortunately the cell service was good for a FaceTime call. We spent forty-five minutes on video chat in the dark with my flashlight crawling all over the beach in search of that one specific patch of rocks where he stowed his gear. After much time we settled on one specific spot that grabbed his attention from his best memory. I keep Jonathan on the call as I walked out into the surf and this was one of the smartest decisions I made all night that truly paid off immensely.

We were amazed his gold heirloom wedding ring, having been lost at sea in the surf sands for a total of nineteen days, remained in place as if held by the very hand of God until the day of recovery. I was honored to have the oppertunity in recovering Jonathan’s ring. Now his cherished family heirloom wedding ring can live on as an example to all to never give up on hope and faith. A truly inspiring story and reminder to each of us that difficult situations can and do end with success!

This family from California was up visiting other family members at their Lake Sammamish property when Blake’s phone got kicked into the water below. Blake had a lot of data on his phone that had not been backed up so it was important for them to recover his phone to secure the data. He left his iPhone on the side of the dock while he was on the jet ski and when he returned his aunt accidentally bumped his phone with her foot. At this point the iPhone was overboard and down to the lake bottom it went. This family initially reached out to a local SCUBA group on FaceBook. They found a recreational diver that offered to come over and « give in a try ». That attempt didn’t work oudft so well for them and their phone was still in the bottom of the lake at the foot of their private dock in no more that fifteen feet of water by all reasonable accounts. Once they found my contact we got the ball rolling and the SeattleRingHunter was on the way for another Lake Sammamish cell phone recovery! James contacted me asking for some assistance in recovering his lost gold wedding band. He explained he had been doing some exercises earlier in the morning at Kinnear Park on Queen Ann Hill in Seattle. He had some gymnastic rings attached to the swing set and was doing a few moves. He decided to take his wedding ring off and placed it into his shorts pocket. Most likely after doing a few simple inversions the ring fell out and was quickly obscured by the wood chips below. He poked around looking for his ring but could not locate it. He knew he had to get someone with a metal detector if he was to get his ring back. After a simple Google search he found my profile page on TheRingFinders.com and reached out for assistance. After a few brief moments swing my detector coil over the wood chips I acquired the signal I was looking for. I called him over and with my pin pointer moved the top layer of wood chips aside. Sure enough we acquired the golden target we were after his gold wedding band! A simple search saving one more ring and collecting another appreciative smile.

Due to COVID concerns it has reduce some of my in home and vehicle searching efforts however I am always willing to share quite a bit of details and encouragement to anyone willing to take the time to work with me over the phone and in the field. Tom posted to the community that he had lost his wedding ring in a populated area. After seeing his post I quickly reached out to him offering my recovery assistance. He had just lost his yellow gold men’s wedding band the day prior while training for a marathon. He was running down a public sidewalk and knew the location his ring fell off. At that moment he search the concrete sidewalk and roadway but couldn’t see his ring. Later that day he returned with his kids and spent about three hours looking with no success.

After we connected and shared some details the search was set. Later that afternoon I arrived and we got straight to the hunt.

I was happy to have been able to connect with Tom quickly as he published a lot of details online of the location of where he lost his ring. Typically we recommend not to publish detailed location information of your lost items to public post. This is to disable the “sharks” of any opportunity in finding your lost treasures behind your back without any thought of ever returning your lost property.

Instead its highly encouraged that you contact a local trusted recovery specialist with a proven track record directly from TheRingFinders.com directory listings. You can review their portfolio of success to have peace of mind you’re working with an experienced recovery specialist best qualified to work your specific case. Having this open forum of success stories online and a stack of published YouTube success stories has made the process much easier for many individuals to see first hand the good honest works we provide to our communities on a daily basis.

It all worked out for a very pleasant recovery process. Tom was very happy and appreciative of the search efforts provided and best of all he quickly got his wedding ring of nineteen years returned to his finger where it belongs!

A local woman from the community contacted me asking for assistance in locating her lost iPhone. I learned from our discussion that this person had not enabled the Apple tracking features so we had no way of knowing its general location. This individual was also very focused on keeping her personal identity protected thus very concerned on recovering her phone.

She explain to me that she had gone out to pickup some take out food. By the time she made it home the realization that her iPhone was gone became her priority focus. After a short period of time she went back to the restaurant asking and looking around and no phone was found. She also drove the same roads but was unable to find her phone.

She then started searching Craig’s List in hopes someone had found her phone. In doing so she learned of my services to the community in how I help people locate lost items.

She also shared with me that she had a memory of hearing what sounded like something falling on to the roof of her car like a small tree branch. She then noticed seeing something falling off her car from her rearview mirror. She thought this event was odd as the weather was calm.

After hearing this it become my prime focus to investigate the location of this incident as the potential location of her lost cell phone. It’s very common for people to place phones and items on top of their vehicles while loading and unloading, forgetting the items and driving away. Some distance down the road these items will eventually rattle off onto the roadway.

Watch this video to see the conclusion of a lost iPhone in Mill Creek, WA.

After the recovery it is important to share how appreciative this lady was for the services provided. She told me that she now has closure and that she can now move past the incident without constantly wondering every time she passes through this part of town.

Cheers,

Jeff Morgan

Lost Expensive Carbon Fiber JETSURF Hood at Leschi Seattle WA

  • from Mercer Island (Washington, United States)

SeattleRingHunter Lost Item Recovery Specialist LAND & SCUBA Call ASAP 206-618-8194

Here in Seattle we have had some really good weather and with good weather comes the water sports. Dakota contacted me seeking dive recovery support for an expensive carbon fiber lid he lost at the dock from his latest toy. We had a nice chat on the phone where he explained he had this super exciting carbon fiber surfboard that has a gas engine inside of the hull. However when he was moving the board around on the dock the lid came off, went into the lake and sank to 40 feet. The good news was that this just happened and they knew the drop zone precisely. The lid was brightly painted on one side and has a bright colored decal on the back side. Being rather large in size I had all the confidence that it would be a visual find on the surface of the silty lake bottom. I also learned that in all four corners there were metal latching pins on this part so if the silt got too aggressive I would have all opportunity to locate it with my metal detector as a backup plan.

As with many of these dock recovery missions there is typically a stock pile of trash and assorted items that fall into our water ways. Always a great opportunity for a dive in, trash out session as well.

Dakota was appreciative for the recovery work provided. Before I left the site he was already gearing up to get back out into the water for some more exciting JETSURF fun.
