Lost Wedding Rings Found! – Lake Winneconne, Wisconsin.

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

Saturday afternoon, July 20th found teacher and Fond du Lac resident Amy Pickart, enjoying a refreshing lady’s weekend away on the picturesque Lake Winneconne in Wisconsin. It was a perfect getaway, a perfect setting, perfect weather and perfect company.

A water-volleyball net invited playful competition, fun and exercise. But Amy was not aware that her wedding rings, welded together as one, quietly slipped off her hand during the activity. Later, as she climbed a ladder onto the boat dock, she was horrified to see the rings were gone. A frantic search ensued in the murky water but the rings could not be found. Amy was heartbroken.

I received a text message that evening from one of Amy’s colleagues. After getting details, I arranged to conduct a search first thing the following Monday.

Inland Wisconsin lakes have seen human occupation for well over a century. Lake Winneconne is no exception. The remains of half-century-old beer cans lay buried deep in the sand, making detection of a small ring challenging. Unbeknown to me, I found out later, other detectorists had tried to locate Amy’s rings the day before but were unsuccessful. Beer-can-sized craters on the lake bottom bore witness to their valiant and thorough attempts. I chose to expand the search area and use an approach that relies heavily on forensics.

Given the recent loss and the hard-packed sand conditions, I knew the rings would not be very deep in the sand; they would be shallow, close to the surface. Reducing my detector’s sensitivity and holding it higher up away from the lake bottom, provided the needed distance from the otherwise overwhelming beer-can signals. Additionally, I used a specially designed detection probe that helped further isolate the ring signal in an otherwise difficult detection environment.

About two hours passed when I received a signal in the volleyball area that was forensically appropriate for Amy’s rings. Sure enough, a shallow scoop brought her rings back up to the light of day!

Tim, Amy’s husband of 23 years, met me on the dock as I emerged from the water. The smile on his face says it best, “It’s more than a ring!”

Amy’s ring marked my 121st successful recovery. That’s a lot of smiles!

Stone Harbor NJ Lost Wedding Band Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

Rob left a review for me in Stone Harbor, NJ!

I’m honestly still shook and can’t believe that I have my ring back. After hours of searching around the house and yard and asking the lifeguards at the beach, I figured my wedding ring was gone forever. I was about to give up but my sister in law mentioned that she had seen an ad for Ring Finders, so I gave John a call. He gridded off the area of the beach where I mentioned I might have lost the ring and within 15 minutes, he found it, dug it up, and returned it to me. My wife and I couldn’t be more appreciative and would recommend John to anyone that finds themselves in a similar situation on the Jersey Shore. Thanks again!

Friend’s bachelorette weekend in Brigantine, NJ and all you want to do is get a good tan in. On day two of beautiful weather, drinking rosé, eating Wawa sandwiches, and laughing about life, we suddenly see our bride jump up and say she can’t find her ring. We all immediately run over and are on our knees digging through the sand. The sun is shining on us, some tears were shed, texts to each other’s significant others is in full swing and we decide to give the bride some space. Some took turns talking to the bride, random civilians pulled out their metal detectors or sifted through trash, others comforted from afar, and one friend decided to draw a ring on the sand. We felt helpless. Once John appeared, it was so simple. He found her ring in under 5 minutes and we all ran to her once she confirmed she had it. If you are ever in this terrible position, please call John. Thank You!!!

Thrown ring into woods, Paisley, Florida…Found with a metal detector and returned to happy owner!

It happens allot…rings get thrown into the water, into the woods and into grass yards and parks all over the world and most of the time the rings are never found! But there is hope when you call or text a ring finder because this is what we love to do…help people who find themselves in this very sort of situation!

Mike texted me to ask if I could help find his wife’s diamond engagement ring in the woods behind their home. Seems there was some sort of misunderstanding and the end result was a lost ring in the woods. First off I asked a few questions like: What time of the day or night did this happen? Did you or your wife actually see it as it flew through the air and into the woods? Did your wife play softball in high school? I encouraged them that the answers to these questions would help determine the likely hood of actually finding their lost ring and with the information they gave me I felt fairly confident that I could find their lost ring.

Mike and his family live out in the country and the small area where the ring was thrown was littered with dead branches and vines, small trees and a few palmetto palms as well. My first task was to clear the underbrush away and cut a few low hanging palm fronds so I could effectively swing my metal detector. It took about 15 minutes to cover the target area and I was beginning to think that either the ring bounced off of one of the small trees or maybe she actually threw her ring in a different direction. The ground was relatively free of any metal targets so I was very confident that if my metal detector went over it I would hear the signal and easily uncover it among the leaves. Thirty minutes passed and I called Mike out to verify the direction and Mike indicated it could have gone off to the left more. So as I started searching off to the left I looked over to where I had previously searched and noticed a 6 foot palm tree that had broken branches going up the sides and I had swung my detector casually along the sides but thought I had better check it more thoroughly just to be sure. I started at the bottom and poked my Garrett pin pointer into each opening where the dead branches were and made my way around and all the way to the very top and low and behold a slight beep came from my pin pointer! No way, I thought! And as I poked it around closer the beeping increased. I could not see into the small opening but was able to stick my finger down into the space and as I removed the leaves and debris I got a short glimpse of something shiny and then I saw the diamond!! Mike and Candace were thrilled t have their beautiful diamond engagement ring back once again! I give God the credit for prompting me to investigate that palm tree and for allowing me to be a blessing and encouragement to this dear young couple.

While enjoying the bonfire on the beach in North Wildwood, NJ, Anthony lost his hearing aid in the sand. Upon receiving a call for assistance, I promptly arrived at the scene. After gathering some details about the incident, I began my search with the help of my metal detector.

Despite an hour and a half of meticulous searching, success eluded me. I decided it would be best to resume the search after the bonfire was over and the area was clear. Upon my return, I expanded the search perimeter and digging out several other targets.

Finally, after countless swings of my metal detector and a few hours of dedicated searching, I found the missing hearing aid! I immediately called Valerie to relay the good news. Al soon met me at the scene, and I handed over the hearing aid.

The day concluded on a happy note, transforming a potential disaster into a joyful ending.
