  1. Erica was enjoying a beautiful summer day at the Jersey Shore when a nearly tragic moment occurred. She had taken off her rings to apply sunblock and placed them on her beach chair. Hours later, when she went to sit down again, she suddenly remembered—but the rings were gone.After a long search with no success, Erica and her fiancé packed up for the day and headed to the boardwalk for dinner. While there, she posted on a local Facebook community group, sharing the exact location of where they had been sitting on the beach. Fortunately, someone in the comments saw the post and suggested she call Edward Trapper – the NJ Ring Finder.Erica contacted me right away. I asked her to take the post down (it had only been up for about 20 minutes) to avoid attracting any opportunistic treasure hunters, and I agreed to meet her at the boardwalk within 30 minutes.

    By the time we reached the beach, it was dark and officially closed, but we carefully worked our way around the barriers. Erica guided me to the exact spot using earlier photos, and I could still see the dig marks from where they had searched earlier.

    Within 10 minutes, I had her ring safely recovered in my scoop. The relief and excitement on their faces said it all—they truly didn’t expect to see those rings again.

Received a call from Laura. She explained that she had taken off her rings while on Diamond Beach in Wildwood Crest in front of The Grande and handed them to her husband while she applied sunscreen. Later he handed them back to her and she placed them on her lap, this all happened on Saturday. Several days later Laura was looking for her rings, which she assumed she had placed somewhere in her home. After checking the usual spots, panic began to set in after she realized that she never picked them back up after her husband handed them back to her while on the beach in Wildwood Crest. Laura contacted me the following Thursday evening. We spoke and she outlined a specific area on a map pic that I had sent to her. I went down that same Thursday evening only to be met with 30-40mph winds and an onshore blown in tide. The beach was a mess as a result of these weather conditions. I still managed to check a fairly large area but with no success. I advised Laura of the conditions and lack of results and told her that I would try another day once things calmed down however I was skeptical at best considering the location she directed me to. A few days later Laura contacted me again and said that a little girl and her grandmother were playing in the sand in front of The Icona Star Beach Bar and happened across one of Laura’s rings! They turned the ring into The Grand staff to be returned to Laura. Laura immediately advised me of what had transpired and the next morning at 5am I went down to check the area where the one ring was found. The area where the first ring was found was about 800yds from where Laura had originally identified to me. I thoroughly checked that area and found nothing but trash. Since I was already there I walked back down to the original area and was able to make a few passes closer to the normal high tide line and BAM got a signal worth checking. Out came the platinum diamond wedding band! Laura spoke with The Grande staff and I picked up the first ring and delivered both back to Laura the following week. She was absolutely elated! Another successful recovery! How the first ring ended up so far from the original spot may always be a mystery but at least they are both back where they belong!

My morning started with a phone call from a young man asking my opinion on what I thought the chances were of finding a gold bracelet on a bike path in Stanley Park Vancouver. I have my list of questions and it wasn’t sizing up to be a search I would attempt due to the size of the bike path and the chances of the bracelet landing there where someone easily could spot it.

After hearing a bit more details, he did mention that his wife went up a narrow path which caught my attention and made me come out to take a look because this is where we would have a slim chance of possibly locating it. We needed the bracelet to go off of the main trail onto the side of the path where most people won’t be able to see it.

Asking a few more questions I found out I was looking for a Gold Cartier love bracelet that was for a Canadian Olympic gold medallist who lives here in Vancouver, her name is Madison Mailey she won gold medal in last Olympics in Tokyo for rowing. Her husband I met came 10th in the world at the same Olympics also for rolling. His name is  Maxwell Lattimer. Amazing!!

When I met Matt, he told me the story behind the Gold Cartier bracelet and how it was engraved with  »Olympic Champion »  and that she had purchased that from her podium money they received when they won the gold. A commemorative bracelet, a reminder of the hard work and dedication, something to look at and remember that moment in her life that she won gold for herself her team and her Country.

OK back to the search in my mind the only chance we had is if this brace landed on the side of the path where the path was the narrowest, I told Max that we would walk it first to see if we can eyeball it and then I’d detect on the way back, I wanted to know approximately where she realized it was missing and where she came off her bike looking for it.

We got to the narrow part of the bike path and I just finished saying this is where we’re gonna find it. Max looked down and found the first piece, shortly after I found the second piece. It was a beautiful moment that I’m sure he’ll remember for a long time as will  his wife. I’m so honoured to be a part of this story and reconnecting them with Beautiful car love bracelet and the amazing story attached to it.

Nicole was enjoying a beautiful day at the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ with her daughter and family—sunshine, sand, and summer fun. But that perfect day quickly turned into panic when she got home and realized both her wedding band and engagement ring were gone. 💍

Her family searched high and low with no luck. That’s when Nicole contacted me—John Favano with Ring Finders South Jersey. We met back at the beach, and after getting a clear idea of where they’d been throughout the day, I started a detailed grid search.

Wedding/Engagement Ring Lost in the Surf, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

On 7/31/25 and just before 2 pm, I received a text saying, “Hi Jim. My name is Jennifer B and I lost my wedding/engagement ring about an hour ago in front of the Sand Castle Ocean Front Resort South Beach. I was about thigh deep in the ocean and got wiped out by a wave and lost the ring. Sending a picture. Thank you!” I checked the tide tables and figure she lost it about 45 minutes before high tide. By now the tide would have turned. By the time I’d get there it’d be a couple hours past high tide and easily researchable. I called the number attached to the text and spoke with Jennifer. I got a few more details and told her I’d be there in about 30-35 minutes. She agreed and I was on my way.

When I arrived, I easily found a place to park and walked on the beach. I called Jennifer telling her I was on the beach, and she directed me to where she was. When we met, she explained what had happened and looking at the conditions I completely understood how she lost it. Mother Nature wasn’t in a good mood; the sea breeze had picked up enough to blow the waves straight into the beach. There was also a tough at the bottom of the slope which meant the waves were crashing right where I thought her ring would be. I started a grid search both parallel and perpendicular to the shoreline and wasn’t having any luck. Twice, I tried to venture into the tough and both times waves knocked me flat. There were people including Jennifer, trying to help me get up and grab my detector and scoop. I wasn’t having any fun at this point. There were still a few hours before low tide, so I decided to call it for now and come back later. I apologized to Jennifer for not finding it but didn’t say I was coming back at that point. I needed to check the home front and grab some dinner for the wife and me. Just before low tide, I text Jennifer saying I was going back to try again and hit the road. I arrived back right at low tide and the conditions were much better. I started a grid search at the north end of the search area and about mid tide. I was able to make my way out to waist deep. My 3rd line, I hit a solid 11 on the VDI (visual display indicator), exactly what I expected for a lady’s Platinum ring. One scoop and I had it out of the hole, gently shook the sand out and saw her ring. I took a quick picture, sent it to Jennifer and said “Bingo.” I also asked where she was, and I’d bring it to her. I called her and found out her and the 4 ladies she was vacationing with were at a local restaurant, so I was on my way. I met Jennifer and her emotional response was priceless.

Lost Diamond Wedding Ring Recovered Wisconsin

Johnathan and his wife were out fishing on their pontoon early this spring. It was a beautiful sunny day and she decided to put on some sunscreen lotion. Making her hands really slippery. While casting towards a dock, she felt her wedding ring slip off, heard it hit the front of the pontoon and sink away into 10 feet of water. John searched locally for help and found a snorkeler.  He dove down and could only see muck & sand. Rings & other valuables will quickly disappear into the muck and sand as their weight and water movement hides them almost immediately. After talking with local divers, he found one person who heard of a site called « theringfinders.com ». Saying they can help in these situations. John searched the site and contacted me. This was still early in the year and water temps are brutally cold. We discussed the situation and decided to wait a month or so for the search. John’s wife was worried that the ring would move from storms and or power boats going by. I assured her, the ring will stay exactly where you lost it, I have found rings that were lost 75 years ago in lakes, and they are always right where they were lost. The lake is 3 hours away from me, so we had to make sure we planned a nice warm sunny day for the search. We met at the boat launch, headed to the « spot » and John anchored us right on top of the lost ring, it only took me 10 minutes to recover. This is a beautiful white gold diamond engagement / wedding ring soldered together. Made from John’s late Mother’s ring, so this ring is a really important heirloom for both John and his wife.

It was great to meet you John and thanks for making my job easy – Anchoring right on top of that lost ring was perfect!!!

Ocean City NJ Lost Tiffany Necklace Found by Ring Finders South Jersey

A sunny afternoon in Ocean City New Jersey turned stressful when Adie realized her Tiffany necklace was missing.
She had been enjoying the beach, relaxing near the shoreline and soaking in the beautiful weather.
At some point during the afternoon, the necklace slipped off unnoticed into the sand.
When Adie discovered it was gone, she immediately began searching the surrounding area.
Friends and family joined the effort, hoping the necklace would appear quickly.
The beach sand, however, can hide small jewelry items very easily.
Each passing minute made the search feel more urgent and uncertain.
A storm system was moving toward Ocean City New Jersey, and time was running short.
That was when Adie and her group decided to contact Ring Finders South Jersey for help.
We quickly gathered our equipment and headed toward the beach location.
Once there, Adie showed us the general area where she believed the necklace was lost.
The search zone was carefully marked to keep the process organized.
Using a systematic grid pattern, we began scanning the sand with professional metal detecting equipment.
Grid searches are essential when locating small jewelry in a large beach area.
Each slow sweep brought hope that the detector would signal something valuable.
The wind began picking up as clouds rolled closer to the shoreline.
Despite the approaching weather, the search continued carefully and methodically.
Then suddenly, the detector produced a clear and promising signal.
A small scoop of sand was lifted and gently shaken.
Out popped the beautiful lost Tiffany necklace, shining again in the sunlight.
Adie’s reaction was immediate joy and relief.
Moments earlier the necklace felt gone forever beneath the sand.
Now it was safely back in her hands.
Smiles quickly replaced the worry that had filled the beach earlier.

North Topsail Beach, NC – Wedding Band Lost In Ocean, Found And Returned

Steve was spending some time in the ocean during a typical hot Summer North Carolina day. He mentioned he was swimming in about chest deep waters, jumping in the waves.  A large wave hit him and he felt his ring was gone!

Steve called me just after low tide that same day and I arrived the following day to search.  I found another man’s white gold band, in the ocean, a few miles away about an hour before.  I started my search parallel with the shoreline working my way out into the deeper water.  After finding nothing but a couple of pieces of trash, I started a vertical search.  After just a couple of passes, I got a good signal.  I was disappointed when I dug up a pop can tab.  A few steps later in the water, my machine displayed the very same target identification.  This time it was Stephen’s white gold wedding band!  I walked to shore and took some pictures.  Steve was about to go out with family for pizza and I sent him the photo thinking they had already left.  A large number of family members and Steve and his wife poured out onto the beach with surprise and joy!

Ring Lost Swimming: Recovered by Rob Ellis, Virginia

Kevin was swimming twenty-five feet away from his dock when his gold and platinum ring slipped off.

After packing all our equipment and a 90-minute drive, my divemaster and I arrived at the lake. Although Kevin had a good idea of where he lost the ring, it’s always more difficult without close landmarks.

 

I used my circular search device, which unwinds a metered amount of line. Within 50 minutes we found it!

LOST PLATINUM WEDDING RING in MONROE, NC…. FOUND!!

I DIDN’T EVEN TURN ON MY MACHINE!!!

Received a text message that a gentleman had lost his platinum wedding ring in his yard.

I told him I could leave in a few mins and would be there in an hour and a half.

I arrive, get my gear, meet him, we make our way to the backyard where I get the scoop.

He was skimming his pool and he was shaking his hands dry next to a black/rod iron looking fence that had a row of elephant ears growing on the pool side of the fence.

As he was showing me the direction he thought the ring went, stating it’s probably on the other side of these elephant ears. He goes to move the plants back and we look down and we both see the ring! He was like, “ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MY WIFE AND LOOKED ALL OVER FOR THIS RING!”

I took a couple of photos and loaded up to head back home.
