Lost Keys in Leawood KS

  • from Kansas City (Missouri, United States)

Mike suspected he lost his key fob while shoveling snow.  He turned the house upside down but couldn’t find them (or his spares)!  A scheduled flight that afternoon intensified the need to respond and recover these keys.  He contacted me and I began to search the snow on the sides of the driveway with no luck.  The entire drive hadn’t yet been shoveled, but the rebar in the concrete was giving my detector fits.  So I had Mike completely clear the driveway and voila!  The key fob was still in the snow, but once it got over the grass instead of the drive, the Legend sniffed it straight out.  Another happy customer and another on-time departure.

Jessica, Chads wife was going to her car early in the morning to head to work. Yes it has all happened to us. She hit a slick spot, arms went up and she went down. Luckily no injuries but…….now her car won’t start. The only set of keys was in her hand when she went down. Wow, they could be anywhere. Chad, her husband looked many times for them. Luckily after much debate about purchasing a metal detector he found me on the Ringfinders.com…….this was an older part of town with lots of signals, very few shallow. After gridding the area out I then had to start moving other items out of the way to get good signals. Then boom, I hit the panic button and a big smile came to his face. The smile and friendships made are always a blessing to me also.

Just Bring It!….

Exclaimed Mckenzie as she and a friend’s play fighting inside found itself outside on the front lawn. Things got more interesting as the skirmish turned into a wrestle fest landing Mckenzie pinned to the ground. Now with darkness upon them they called a timeout, brushed themselves off and went back into the house where Mckenzie noticed her earring missing. The next day I started a grid search and within a few minutes the earring stud revealed itself! A winning move, I feel like a champ! She said!… even tho I lost the smackdown, the only pinning I’m interested in now is pinning the earring back in my ear!

You never know what kind of call you’re going to get next in the world of recovery diving and metal detecting.

This week, I had just wrapped up finding a lost engagement ring for a very relieved couple when my phone rang. I answered, and a voice said urgently, « I lost my keys in the bay in Avalon, New Jersey — can you help? »

I was less than 20 minutes away, so I loaded up my gear and hit the road.

When I arrived, the guy explained they’d been kayaking near the public ramp. As they approached the dock, they tipped a bit, and in the shuffle to stabilize, the car keys — including an electronic fob — slipped right out of a pocket and into the bay. The water wasn’t too deep — about waist high — but murky and full of debris, making it nearly impossible to see anything.

We narrowed down the likely drop zone, and I started a systematic grid search using my underwater metal detector. These kinds of recoveries take patience. There are lots of false signals, and the muddy bottom can hide things well. But after about 20 minutes of searching, I got a strong hit — and just like that, the keys were found!

Everyone was thrilled. You could feel the stress melt away. Losing your keys while out on the water can quickly turn into a nightmare — no way to get home, call a tow, and deal with reprogramming everything. But not today.

They were able to unlock their car, start it up, and leave Avalon with all their belongings back in hand.

These moments are why I do this — not just finding things, but restoring peace of mind. Whether it’s a lost ring, phone, or keys, every item tells a story, and I’m proud to help bring those stories to a happy ending.

If you’re ever in need of recovery services in the Avalon, NJ area (or beyond), don’t hesitate to reach out. Quick response and professional recovery can save your day — just like it did for these guys.

Lost wedding band at Jensen Beach Florida

  • from Melbourne Beach (Florida, United States)

I got a text from Nicholas who had found me on Ringfinders. Nicholas and his family were enjoying the beach on Thanksgiving. He had taken his wedding band off and put it in the beach bag. When it started to rain they quickly packed up and headed home. When they unpacked the band was missing. I met him and searched the area where they had been set up. I found it.  A special custom design that matched his wife’s rings.  It meant a lot to him .  A very happy ending.

I received a call from Phill’s wife last night stating that he lost his late father’s Gold Ring while throwing a football to his Son. We agreed to me coming out this morning since it was dark and getting late.
I gridded the area with no luck so I went back to where I started and I got a nice low VDI double signal and I knew this had to be his ring. I had to use my pin-pointer in the dense grass to recover his ring.

Phill was elated to get his Ring back!

Green Bay wedding ring recovered in snow

  • from Green Bay (Wisconsin, United States)

On Thanksgiving Eve, I received a message about a lost wedding ring in my neighborhood.    As luck would have it, Emilie was a classmate of our youngest son at Preble H.S., so she knew they could trust us.  After everyone was done with Thanksgiving festivities, I popped over to start the search.    There had been a light snowfall, and the ring popped up in the air when she took off her mitten and shook snow off of her hand.   We guessed it had flown off into the front yard.  After about 15 minutes of searching the yard, all I heard was five or six coin signals, and they were too deep to be the ring.  So, I started covering the opposite side of the sidewalk, toward the house and between juniper bushes.   It didn’t make sense that it would be there because she was shaking her left hand, and we reasoned that it could not have flown to toward the house, on her right side.  But, I heard a signal between the juniper bushes, and my bright headlamp showed some twinkling just underneath the snow.   I pin-pointed it with the Garrett « carrot, » and there it was: one of the most beautiful rings I’ve ever recovered!  There were smiles all around!  I was glad to make her Thanksgiving complete!  IMG_6770[1]

Another smile for the Ringfinder’s clients!

Double-Ring set recovered in Howard Park

  • from Green Bay (Wisconsin, United States)

In late October of 2025, I received a call from a widow who had lost her wedding and engagement ring set while playing with her grandson in a tiny city park.   It was somewhere in the wood chips.  The rings meant a lot to her because they had been picked out together, and he had passed just last year.    I taught Mary how to use my old Tesoro Cutlass while I used my Nokta Legend.  The Tesoro is analog, and quite easy to use.  We practiced on my wedding ring so she knew the sound it would make.  We were thinking the rings would be by the swings, because that’s where most hand movements occurred.   Nope!  After about 15 minutes of sweeping our coils, her’s sung out loud with a ring signal.  It was in the middle of an open spot.   I quickly pin-pointed it with my Garrott « carrot, » and it was back on her finger in seconds!  She didn’t just find the rings – all the memories came back with it.  It was a little sad that he couldn’t be here physically, to see it was found, but we could feel him watching over us.

Beautiful sapphires, silver and gold!
