Daniel had lost his wedding ring of 11 years. He thought it might have come off while out with the dogs in the cold weather. He purchased a metal detector and gave it his best shot for hours. After no success he turned to the internet and found me. We chatted back and forth, trying to give some pointers on using a metal detector. After a few more days we agreed that I should come take a look. Alot of times rings aren’t found where we think they should be. After I got the signal on the other side of the yard, I had him bring out his detector and recover his ring.
I thought my ring was a goner. I had taken the dogs outside and when I came in it was gone. I spent the next two days crawling on my hands and knees through the yard, trying to spot it. No luck. I bought a metal detector and still no luck. I found this site three days after and posted, and within an hour Rob had emailed me saying he’d come. I felt bad because Lincoln is over two hours away and we had a couple days of snow ahead, so I told him to give me a couple more days to use my detector and see if it pops up. He emailed me several times, coaching me with tips, but I’m a complete novice and had no luck. It reached a week later and he reached out again. He said he didn’t mind the distance and would be at my house the next morning. He was there and couldn’t have been a nicer person. He’s so generous and genuinely cares. He spent over an hour detecting and I had just told my wife that I thought he’d covered everywhere and that it didn’t look like he had found it. I had come to grips with it being gone. Five minutes later he rings the doorbell and says, “grab your detector. It’s out there and you’re going to find it.” I was shocked to say the least. We went out. He got me close, told me what to look for, and there it was! Don’t hesitate to reach out to Rob. He’s not just an expert metal detector. He’s also one of the best people I’ve met in a long time.
