Wedding and Engagement Rings Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Sunset Beach NC

Shortly before 5 p.m. I received a call from Wendy saying she had lost her rings on the beach. She said I had been recommended and was wondering if I was available. At the time I was waiting on a contractor that was running late. I called the contractor and rescheduled for the next day. I didn’t want Wendy’s rings to sit out on the beach to long, especially on Sunset Beach. I called Wendy back and asked for her address for parking and told her I was on my way.

It was about a 30-minute drive, and I text her when I arrived in the driveway. When she came out of the house, we introduced ourselves and she led the way out to the beach. I got to meet her husband, John who had been guarding their suspected spot in the sand. She described her ring set, that wasn’t actually a set, but the two rings were soldered together. I turned on my machine and started an east/west grid search and covered the area John had marked off. I wasn’t getting any signals, so I kept the grid search going. After a few more lines, I got a solid 15-16 on the VDI (visual display indicator) and knew I had something. I took a scoop of sand and gently shook out the sand. John and I heard the clanking of metal in the scoop. Wendy had moved down the beach a little to talk to another couple and missed me taking the ring out and holding it up. John called out “He found it” and she immediately made her way back to me. I handed her the ring, and to say she was thrilled would be an understatement. We took a few pictures, and I got a hug from Wendy. I love helping people find their lost treasures.

Lost Platinum ring found in Osakis Minnesota lake!

While visiting his parents lake home in Osakis Minnesota this unfortunate incident occurred while playing in the water with his children. It wasn’t until later he realized his Platinum ring was missing. We agreed to meet, it was just over a 2hr. drive each way. Fortunately the search area was within a defined area. After 1 1/2 hrs searching it was found next to a brake rotor used as an anchor for a swan decoy to deter geese.

Received a referral from fellow recovery detectorist Matty StGermain. Spoke with Carmen, whom explained that she had briefly removed her rings, which were originally her mothers rings, to apply sunscreen while at the beach the yesterday on Perry St, here in Cape May. After applying the sunscreen she stood up not realizing that her rings were still on her lap causing them to drop snd disappear into the sand. Later in the day she realized what had happened and attempted to search with no success. I met up with Carmen and her husband and recovered both of her rings in about 5 minutes. Another happy couple!

Platinum Diamond Womens Wedding Band Recovered At South Bethany Beach, Del.

I received a call from Laura regarding the loss of her Platinum Diamond Womens Wedding Band at Middle Sex Beach located in South Bethany Beach, Delaware. Laura stated that she was throwing a football around on the beach when her ring slipped off her finger and disappeared into the sand. Laura said that they had marked the area where the ring had been lost. I responded to Middle Sex Beach where I met with Laura and began the search for her lost ring. After a careful  check of the area that Laura had marked the ring was nowhere to be found. I then expanded my search eastward toward the Atlantic Ocean for about fifteen feet at which time the lost ring was found and recovered.

Gold Bracelet with Diamonds Found In Ada, Michigan.

Megan was out stringing wire for her new berry patch when the wire caught on her bracelet and it went flying. She spent a few days searching for the bracelet down on her hands and knees, buying a cheap detector and using a flashlight at night to try and see the diamonds. No luck finding it.
She showed me where she was standing when it happened and I started a grid of the area. In a few minutes I see it laying flat on the ground in full view. I believe it had been hiding upside down with the diamonds on the bottom and it looked just like the brown grass with the points sticking straight up. By us walking thru the area we knocked it down flat on the ground and easy to see. Megan was thrilled to have it back again.

Alex called to ask for assistance to locate Allison’s ring that was dropped on the beach.
The couple was attending a reunion of family members from various states. Allison was showing her grandmother the unique 2-piece ring when it was dropped and buried into the sand. Upon arrival, and between bursts of rain, I noticed they had marked a very small search area and with 4-5 swings of my detector coil I hit a very solid signal. I told them before uncovering the ring « I think this is it ». Using my pinpointer to find the exact location, I pulled up a handful of sand with Allison’s platinum ring. They were all heading back home the following day.

Engagement And Wedding Rings Lost In The Old Orchard Beach, Maine Sand, Found With A Metal Detector

On Saturday July 5th, Cheryl and I were driving to Ogunquit Maine. As we were driving around 4:30pm my phone rang. I answered and Jared identified himself and told me that his sister had lost her Engagement and Wedding Rings, on the beach, near Union Ave, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Jared wanted to know if I was available, to help him. I told him that I personally wasn’t available but that I could get someone to help him. I told him I would call someone and I would have them call his sister. I immediately called Gary Hill and gave Gary the information and Jared sister’s phone number. Gary told me he would call her, asap.

Gary met up with April, at Union Ave and She showed Gary where she thought the rings were. She explained to Gary that she, family and friends had gone to the beach. When they arrived, April took her rings off and applied lotion, on herself. She had placed the rings on her lap, while applying the lotion. April had then forgotten about the rings and gotten up. It wasn’t until later that she realized what had happened, but it was too late. The rings were already buried in the sand.
Gary said he started a grid search and went 25 feet, across the sand. As Gary turned and started back and started back, towards where he started, he immediately received a very nice target, reading an 07, on his Minelab Manticore’s VDI screen. This is a definite gold range target. Gary put his pinpointer in the sand and found his target. Gary then used his hand held sand scoop and out popped the first ring. Gary then rechecked the immediate area and received another target. Another scoop of sand and another ring popped out. WOW!!! Not even 5 minutes and Gary had gotten both rings. Incredible performance by Gary. A lot of people had gathered by then and photos were being taken. Several of the pictures were taken by a stranger who then forwarded them to Gary.
Gary said that April had become very emotional after getting her rings back. April thought they were gone forever and when she saw Gary pull them out of the sand, happy tears flowed. Gary was also very excited and happy for April. There is no better feeling than finding and returning a sentimental item, or two, that the owner thought they would never see again. April then texted me with the following, not knowing Gary had already messaged me

“He found them 🥹🥲 Thank you SO, SO MUCH!!! 🙏🏽”

18K Yellow Gold Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned Murrell’s Inlet SC

This is part 1 of a 2 part story that started on July 6th, when I saw a FB post from Charlie that said, “Where’s all my treasure hunters at? My wedding band slipped off my finger into shallow water at high tide on the point yesterday. Does anyone have a metal detector to help me look for it? We’re in Inlet Harbor. Low tide is at 11:50 am so that would be our best chance. Thank you!” A contributing factor was he lost it the same day we had a tropical storm go through the area. His post had some naysayers, prayers offered and offers of hope. I copied and pasted my Ring Finder page to his post and waited. Within about 10 minutes, Charlie called and asked if I could help. I told him I could be there in about an hour, he agreed, and I was on my way.

I arrived right around low tide and met Charlie at the house he and his wife Renee were staying. I followed him to his grandfather’s house where I parked. We introduced ourselves and he walked me out to the beach. He pointed out the area, which maybe was a 25X20 foot spot. I got a few more details and went to work. From all the coins, trash, old cans, and fishing weights and hook.   This beach hasn’t been cleaned or detected in a while. Charlie was very confident of his area, so I started a north/south grid line. Most of Charlie’s family had shown up to watch and I heard one gentleman say they had been sitting at the top of the sand. I finished the slope down to the water and no ring. I worked up to the top of the beach, again getting fishing weights and hooks when I got a solid 19 on the VDI (visual display indicator). The 19 indicated to me that I had gold under the coil. I moved some sand and saw the glimmer of gold. I reached down and pulled Charlie’s wedding band out from its hiding place. I held it up for Charlie, Renee and the rest of the family to see. Charlie came over and I handed him his ring. He checked the engraving and confirmed their wedding date was what was engraved. Ring Found!

At one point during the search, I found out that Charlie’s brother-in-law, Cory had lost his gold wedding band. He had lost his on the 4th of July and probably in about waist deep water. I did a search of the upper beach and out in the bay about waist deep. Because of the tide I had to give up on Cory’s ring.   One out of two wasn’t bad.

Apple Watch lost on the beach, Loveladies NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

I received a call from Jennifer about her son Will’s lost Apple Watch on the beach. They had been enjoying the day at a relatively private beach when Will took off his watch and placed it in the cup holder of a beach chair. Jennifer explained they had been sitting near the middle of the beach, away from the tide, so there was a good chance the watch was still there.

She initially wanted to think about it, but called me back two days later to meet at the beach. Will walked me out to the spot and, being a very detail-oriented young man, he described every step and action he had taken before the watch disappeared.

I set up a grid search in the area he pointed out, and within 15 minutes, I found the Apple Watch safely in my sand scoop. Will was amazed and gave me a high five, while Jennifer was absolutely thrilled that the watch was recovered after two days on the beach.

Super Nice Ring Set Recovered

Sue lost her wedding ring set at Gulf Shores a couple day before calling me for help. She didn’t know where to go and it took a day or so to find someone who could help. I told her i would be there first thing in the morning. I met her where she and the family were staying and we walked to the beach area she thinks it was lost. She wasn’t sure how it was lost, where it might be or if it was even on the beach but felt hopefully it was on the beach. She talked about the day it was lost and her activities and locations. The house and car had been searched and it wasn’t there, so logicly it must on the way to the beach or somewhere on the beach. She showed me the various places they were on the beach and the routes to and from those various places. With that information I put together a search plan and proceeded. After about 30 minutes and after digging several other targets I got a very good signal and knew i found something good. I dug it and showed it to Sue who shouted you found it! She was very, very happily. I’m glad I found it for her, it made both our days.
