Ring Lost During Yard Work Found

  • from Madison (New Jersey, United States)

NORTHERN NEW JERSEY — Tom knew the exact moment it happened.

He was working in his garden when he felt it and saw it, the gold ring slipping free and flying off his finger into the soil.

He searched immediately. Then again. And again. He combed through the garden by hand, knowing it had to be there somewhere, yet unable to find it.

When frustration finally set in, Tom called for help.

I arrived with a metal detector and a simple plan: trust the signal, not the doubt.

Less than twenty minutes later, the detector spoke up. One careful scoop, and the gold ring reappeared from the garden bed where it had landed.

What had vanished in a split second came back just as quickly. Relief replaced worry, and the garden gave up its secret.

Lost Ring Ideal Beach NJ… Found!!

💍 Sentimental Ring Recovered at Ideal Beach 💍 – Shout out to Ed Trapper for the lead!!
A young man was enjoying a game of football with friends at Ideal Beach in NJ when he slipped his ring into his pocket while playing quarterback. Later, when he went to put it back on, it was gone.
By the time Greenwood Detecting arrived, the beach was completely dark. With flashlights in hand, we began the search. After careful hunting, we recovered the missing ring—one with incredible sentimental value.
This was no ordinary ring. It had been smelted from the gold of his late grandfather’s jewelry and crafted into two rings—one for him and one for his brother. Being able to return such a meaningful piece was an honor and a reminder of why we do what we do.
🔦 Pro Tip: If you are hunting in the dark, always bring flashlights! They’re essential for seeing the search area clearly and for keeping safe by avoiding objects that could trip you up.
Another successful recovery, even in the dark. 🌙✨

Yardwork & Christmas Lights Equals Lost Ring in Cinnaminson NJ. Found by Dave Milsted

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:

Sara called me, asking for help to find her husband’s gold wedding ring. She found me on the Ring Finder’s website. He had spent the entire day working in the yard—cleaning out the gutters, raking leaves, and putting up Christmas lights. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t locate the ring. With only about an hour of daylight left, I headed over to assist.

When I arrived, Devon was still searching for the ring. There was a massive pile of leaves at the curb, scheduled for pickup that week, so I began my search there. Unfortunately, I had no luck.

Next, we moved to the flower beds under the gutter. I received a strong signal under a small bush. Despite not seeing the ring on the ground, the signal was promising. Using my pinpointer, I discovered the signal was coming from within the bush.

It turned out that when the ring slipped off Devon’s hand, it landed in the bush and got hooked on one of the branches. The ring, a beautiful yellow-gold piece, held significant sentimental value as it belonged to Devon’s great-grandfather.

I love my hobby!

Lost Tantalum Wedding Ring Found in NJ!

  • from Madison (New Jersey, United States)

Tantalum is a rare earth metal often used in men’s wedding rings. The metal reads very similar to iron on metal detectors and can be difficult to find in metal rich locations.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ, — A wedding ring was reunited with its owner in the woods in Central New Jersey today thanks to the Ringfinders Metal Detecting service.

This morning, I received a text from Rory who lost his ring in the woods while doing some yard work. The ring was made of rare earth metal, tantalum.

I arrived at the residence and listened to Rory’s description about how he lost the ring while doing yard work. The ring had been flung from the backyard into a wooded lot behind the residence.

Slowly the area was meticulously grid searched. Rory mentioned that he thought he heard the ring land perpendicular to the current search area.

As the search shifted to that area, a tone very similar to iron was detected in the leaves under a bush. As the leaves were cleared away, there lie the tantalum ring, 45 minutes into the search.

A tantalum ring is recovered after a 45 min search.

Rory was reunited shortly thereafter with the ring and was extremely grateful. Another successful recovery in central NJ for the Ringfinders team. Lose a ring in NJ? Give me a call – will travel anywhere in the state.

The tantalum ring’s owner, Rory receives his ring back.
