Phone Home! 📱❄️
Winter strikes again! ⛄ We recently helped a client recover their phone after it went missing during a snow shoveling session. Armed with their Find My Phone app data 📍 and a crucial clue. They remembered exactly where their music stopped playing 🎵, and we got to work.
Our team member Kati systematically covered the area from where the music cut out all the way to the end of the driveway. When that search came up empty, she expanded the grid and found the phone at the very top of the driveway where they’d first started shoveling. Mystery solved! 🎉
Two Important Takeaways:
✅ Always zip your pockets before heading out to shovel! 🧥 It’s an easy step that can save you a lot of headache (and cold fingers searching through snow). 🥶
✅ Your music didn’t stop because your battery died, you might have just walked out of Bluetooth range! 🔊 That silent phone could still be powered on and waiting to be found.
We’re thrilled we could help reunite this phone with its owner. 💙 If you’ve lost something valuable in the snow, yard, or anywhere else, don’t hesitate to reach out. We love a good recovery story! 🙌

Lost Ring Warren NJ… Found

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
Kati from Greenwood Detecting recently helped recover
a ring that was lost during a lively party — and it
couldn’t have ended better 🎉.
While playing, a young girl tossed a water bottle 💦,
and in that split second, the ring she was wearing on
her pinky went flying along with it. Understandably, the
ring seemed lost for good.
Kati carefully scanned the area where the bottle was
thrown 🔍, and with patience and precision,
successfully located and recovered the ring 💍✨.
After the recovery, we received an incredibly kind
message from the girl’s father, Craig — the kind of
message that reminds us exactly why we do what we
do.
😊 Bringing smiles back to people’s faces is what
Greenwood Detecting is all about. 😊
Moments like these make every search worth it.

Ring Lost During Yard Work Found

  • from Madison (New Jersey, United States)

NORTHERN NEW JERSEY — Tom knew the exact moment it happened.

He was working in his garden when he felt it and saw it, the gold ring slipping free and flying off his finger into the soil.

He searched immediately. Then again. And again. He combed through the garden by hand, knowing it had to be there somewhere, yet unable to find it.

When frustration finally set in, Tom called for help.

I arrived with a metal detector and a simple plan: trust the signal, not the doubt.

Less than twenty minutes later, the detector spoke up. One careful scoop, and the gold ring reappeared from the garden bed where it had landed.

What had vanished in a split second came back just as quickly. Relief replaced worry, and the garden gave up its secret.

Lost Ring Ideal Beach NJ… Found!!

💍 Sentimental Ring Recovered at Ideal Beach 💍 – Shout out to Ed Trapper for the lead!!
A young man was enjoying a game of football with friends at Ideal Beach in NJ when he slipped his ring into his pocket while playing quarterback. Later, when he went to put it back on, it was gone.
By the time Greenwood Detecting arrived, the beach was completely dark. With flashlights in hand, we began the search. After careful hunting, we recovered the missing ring—one with incredible sentimental value.
This was no ordinary ring. It had been smelted from the gold of his late grandfather’s jewelry and crafted into two rings—one for him and one for his brother. Being able to return such a meaningful piece was an honor and a reminder of why we do what we do.
🔦 Pro Tip: If you are hunting in the dark, always bring flashlights! They’re essential for seeing the search area clearly and for keeping safe by avoiding objects that could trip you up.
Another successful recovery, even in the dark. 🌙✨

Got a text Sunday evening from a wife whose husband felt his wedding ring fly off the moment his son tackled him while watching a soccer match. 👀 One second it was on his hand, the next—it was somewhere on the field!

We met up about 30 minutes later, and after a short search (less than 10 minutes!), I had it back in his hand. 💪🧲 The same ring he was married with—gone and found before the sun even set.

Great way to wrap up the week: helping someone recover a piece of their story. 💛

Andrew holding his lost ring shortly after it was found today in NJ

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Several years ago, Andrew was tossing some yard debris down an embankment on his property when a family heirloom ring he had worn flew off into the leafy hillside below. Thinking the ring was lost, he wrote it off to bad luck.

As time wore on, Andrew decided to rekindle the search and contacted Ringfinder Bill Leasure. Bill searched the hillside up and down and side to side, for several hours. Finally, after moving some old two by fours, a strong signal emerged from the leaves below. About two inches down, the shining ring popped out of its years-long hiding spot. Yardwork & Christmas Lights Equals Lost Ring in Cinnaminson NJ. Found by Dave Milsted

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:

Sara called me, asking for help to find her husband’s gold wedding ring. She found me on the Ring Finder’s website. He had spent the entire day working in the yard—cleaning out the gutters, raking leaves, and putting up Christmas lights. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t locate the ring. With only about an hour of daylight left, I headed over to assist.

When I arrived, Devon was still searching for the ring. There was a massive pile of leaves at the curb, scheduled for pickup that week, so I began my search there. Unfortunately, I had no luck.

Next, we moved to the flower beds under the gutter. I received a strong signal under a small bush. Despite not seeing the ring on the ground, the signal was promising. Using my pinpointer, I discovered the signal was coming from within the bush.

It turned out that when the ring slipped off Devon’s hand, it landed in the bush and got hooked on one of the branches. The ring, a beautiful yellow-gold piece, held significant sentimental value as it belonged to Devon’s great-grandfather.

I love my hobby!
