Charisse contacted me with a bit of desperation in her voice. She had just lost her diamond wedding ring in the sand, and to her surprise was completely unable to find it. She was going to be leaving the beach soon, and really needed some help. I was on my way!

When I got to the beach Charisse met me, and brought me over to where she believed the loss occurred. She showed me what happened, and where she believed the ring should be. Sometimes though, the ring ends up where you would least expect it to be, but not this time. A couple of swings with my detector, one scoop of sand, and back on Charisse’s finger was her beautiful wedding ring. A wonderful afternoon!

I received a call from Winter who had lost her ring at the beach. She had taken it off, and placed it in a pouch in her purse, but when she got back to the car to leave she found the ring was missing. This ring had been her grandmother’s wedding ring, so it had great sentimental value to her. I let her know that I would be on my way.

I got to the beach as soon as I was able, and found Winter who was with some of her family. We went over what she did, and what she believed had happened. She then mapped out an area of where she believed the loss could have occurred. I began at one side of the area, and worked my way over to the other side finding a few coins, and some trash metal, but no ring. I then began to expand out, and searched out at least 15-20 feet to each side to insure the ring did not flip into another area; no ring. At that point we decided to follow her path back to the car, and I asked her to be as precise as possible, because I have about 3 feet each side of me to search as I swing the detector, a six foot pathway total. Nothing on the pathway, then we came to a wall where she said she took her keys out of the purse, so I worked along the wall, got a good signal, and in the scoop was a fine gold ring with diamond an onyx. I looked at her and asked what does it look like, and she exclaimed, « Just like that! » She was so excited to have it back, having resigned to not finding it by the time we had finished searching the first area. Patient persistence, is what pays off in doing these searches, and we as Ring Finders don’t give up, even when things seem hopeless, we make sure every possible place is eliminated. Joy restored!

I got a call from Scott who had lost his wedding ring the previous day on the volley ball court at the beach, and wondered if I would be able to help him. He found my information on The Ring Finders site, and seemed comfortable with the group’s integrity. I let him know I could help, and we worked out a time to meet.

When I arrived, Scott and I found each other, and he took me over to the court where he believed the loss occurred. He explained how he had been sitting in a specific area, and how he believed the loss happened. I could see where he had been searching by the grid marks in the sand. He told me he had searched for at least an hour and a half, but was unable to find the ring. He had marked where he had been sitting, so that was where I began my search. It took me all of about 5 swings of the detector to find Scott’s ring right in front of where he had been sitting, and right in the middle of his grid. He was so happy to have his awesome ring back, and I was happy to be able to help!

*** A lady named Deepa called me after returning home from a day at a local Orange County California Beach. She had dropped two rings in the sand while at the beach. She was able to find one of the rings but her favorite Tiffany T ring could not be found. After talking to her on the phone, she had given me very good directions as to where the loss occurred. She had been sitting within 30ft. of a lifeguard tower which made it unnecessary for her to drive back to the beach to show me the location.

It was a perfect time to head for the location as people were beginning to leave the beach. Parking was easy compared to earlier in the day. I grabbed my detector, marching  out to the zone. They were a few people that gave me a curious eye. Starting with 30 ft. grid lines I dug a few trash metal objects and ” BOOM ”.. Deepa’s Tiffany Ring showed up after three grid passes.

I turned off my machine walked to the car to call Deepa. I was home within an hour and a half of her original call for help. Yes! We love the quick recoveries, but it’s the NO FINDS that we don’t post that can kick your butt. Hours of searching for some of the losses that seem to be easy but the ring just won’t show up.. Very hard to tell people that I can’t find the item.. Once in a while we get a text or call from the person saying they found the ring somewhere out of the area they thought it was lost..

Deepa was surprised and excited to get her favorite ring returned the next day when we met in Newport Beach.

Silver Tiffany & Co. Heart Necklace Lost in the sand at Venice Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Esteban and Clair called after she had lost her Tiffany & Co. necklace in the sand at the beach. She had placed it on her towel, and forgot it there when she rose and shook the sand off of it. They looked for it with no success, and found me on The Ring Finders web site and called. I was able to leave immediately to do the search, which was in the evening, which allowed the crowds to diminish.

I got to the beach in good time, and walked out to find Esteban and Clair. They had stayed in the exact spot where the loss occurred which is always a help to recover a lost item. They told me what was lost, and showed how it was lost, so I began my search in the area. I heard a signal almost immediately, but after trying to dig it, the signal disappeared when I rescanned the hole, and nothing in the scoop. I went forward a bit turned, and rescanned the hole, another signal the same as last but very faint. I dug again, and nothing in the scoop. I rescanned the hole again, and the signal was gone again. I then turned my scoop over to dump the excess sand out when I saw a real fine chain hanging out the back with a small heart attached to it. The heart was so small it was going through the scoop. I reunited Clair with her necklace which made her day. What great smiles!

I got a call from Simon about his lost ring at the beach. He had given the ring to his girlfriend to hold while he went swimming. When they were getting ready to leave, they were cleaning off their belongings, when the ring flew off his girlfriend’s finger, and was immediately lost in the sand. It was after dark when he called, but I reassured Simon that I would be able to search in the dark, and that we should do the search right away, so I left for the search.

I got to the beach around 9:30 PM, and was able to meet Simon who took me directly to the spot they had been earlier in the day. I could see the search marks in the sand, and knew we were in the right place. I began my grid going over where they had looked, but the ring was not there. Simon showed me another spot, so instead of just going to the next area, I worked my way over, and on that path I got a good signal in the head phones, dug and had this real nice gold and diamond ring in my scoop. I pulled it out and asked Simon if he recognized it. At that moment he was in disbelief that it had been found, and so quickly. He was so happy to have it back, and his girlfriend would also be relieved to have the responsibility of having lost it taken off of her. A great night for sure!

… Chris was playing beach volleyball at Manhatten Beach, CA. when he lost his Tungsten wedding ring. He didn’t feel it come off but he did know it was on before starting the game. Immediately after winning the game and before leaving the area around the volleyball court, he noticed his ring wasn’t on his finger.

Chris was given my contact information by one of his neighbors. He said he would be able to meet me at the location. When I arrived, I told him this could be an easy recovery because he called me and I was there within a couple hours of the loss.  To most people it seems that this would be a simple search, but I have been surprised by how far a ring lost playing volleyball can end up. I try not to get overconfident that it’s going to be a fast recovery.

Chris felt that it should be on the north side of the court. That’s where I started my grid search. He stayed with me as I found a few coins and metal trash. After finishing that side of the volleyball net, I could see Chris was beginning to lose hope. For some reason he had felt the ring had to be in that area. I have found rings lost while playing volleyball in the strangest places. Volleyball players are very active and there is major hand motions.

Well, after 30 minutes, I moved to the south side of the net. On the second pass near the net. “Boom”, a strong signal in my headphones which turned out to reveal the wedding ring in my sand scoop. Chris close  enough to me to hear the clanking of the heavy ring in my scoop. He knew we had found his ring. Big smile and a happy man to have his wedding ring back where it belongs.

Kenny called me the day after he lost his ring and explained he had taken off his ring and placed it in a pouch on their small tent to go in the water. When it was time to leave, his brother in law took down the tent and the ring fell out into the sand.

They searched and couldn’t find it, rented a detector and still couldn’t find the ring. Kenny gave me GPS coordinates to where they were on the beach. This was a great idea on Kenny’s part as it really helped to get me in the right location. I think I searched for about 15 minutes when I received a great sounding signal which turned out to be Kenny’s ring.

Kenny was very happy to get his ring back as it was very sentimental to him.

… Nancy called me from her home in Victorville, CA. She and her husband had spent the day with their child at Baby Beach, Dana Point, CA. Nancy’c husband had given her his necklace for safe keeping as he went for a swim. She placed it with their belongings in a beach bag.

At the end of the day, they packed up everything to drive the 125 miles to Victorville, CA. An hour into the drive her husband asked about the necklace. Nancy couldn’t find it and they were too far away to return to the beach.

The next morning Nancy got online locating my contact information. When she told me what happened and that her husband was very upset. She sent me a marked up Google earth screen shot. I told her there were probably too many people on the beach to search the dry sand of this small beach. I did get to the beach a couple hours before people started leaving. It was worth getting to search as people were leaving.

I had covered most the area with only a couple families left in the area of the loss. Then the family that had a large tarp like blanket laid out on the sand, picked up and left. I walked over to grid search where the had been. Immediately I git a signal, looked down and in plain sight was the necklace with two large pendants. It had been under the blanket all day. I’m sure somebody would have found it within minutes.

So glad to have waited and searched as people left the site. Nancy was elated when I texted her the good news. She wanted to surprise her husband. When they came to the beach a week later, I met Nancy and gave her the necklace. She walked back and surprised her husband after keeping it a secret for a week.

Diego was at the beach with his friends last night throwing a ball around when his ring came off his finger and ended up buried in the sand. They tried their best to find it but didn’t have any luck.

Diego met me at the beach this morning before the parking lot was full of 4th of July revelers and showed me the area of his loss. I was able to find his ring in about 10 minutes. Have a happy 4th Diego.
