Argument Between Couple Sends Rings Flying into Backyard…Found by Ring Finder in Springfield, Virginia

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Lisa’s platinum diamond engagement ring and platinum diamond wedding band recovered by The Ring Finder’s member, Brian Rudolph, after the couple’s terrible fight.

A very happy ring finder, Brian Rudolph displaying both diamond rings that were found in the back yard of the couple’s house after the husband threw his wife’s rings during a domestic argument.

Moses called me with frustration and sadness in his voice. He and his wife Lisa ended up in a fight. Lisa took off her beautiful rings and slammed them down on the table. The two rings were Lisa’s platinum engagement ring (which consisted of multiple diamonds down both sides of the band and a halo of diamonds surrounding a 1 carat cushion shaped diamond in the center) and also Lisa’s platinum wedding band (which consisted of multiple diamonds decorated down the lovely ornate style band).

Moses was so angry when Lisa took her rings off while she declared that they were finished, that he grabbed the jewelry, opened up their sliding door and threw both rings out towards the back of their house.

When things cooled down, Moses bought a metal detector that he called « a Chinese detector » and searched for the two rings for hours in the back yard. Unfortunately, the distraught young man could not find his wife’s rings anywhere. That’s when Moses went online and discovered the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. He found my contact profile and immediately reached out to me. I got all of the details of the story and we scheduled a time for me to come out to conduct the search for the two missing rings.

When I arrived at the property, Moses had already left for work and I introduced myself to Lisa. I made her feel comfortable and shared that this is a very common situation that us ring finders deal with on a regular basis regarding couples that get into fights and in the end the rings go flying.

I gathered up all of my gear, placed everything on a wagon and set up my search camp in the back yard. Moses did not know if the rings ended up in the neighbor’s yard behind his property. There was metal fencing which would end up being a problematic situation for me to metal detect along that area. So, I was hoping that the precious jewels came to rest someplace away from the border of my client’s property.

The first thing I did was lay down grid lines across the lawn, starting two thirds distance away from the house (approximately 50 feet from the back of the house). Just as I was walking to my first spot to begin detecting, my detector (which I was carrying with me, almost brushing the coil (the loop at the bottom of the shaft) softly across the grass as I moved into position on the hill slope) picked up a signal which I could hear in my headphones that I was wearing. Even though I was in the middle of the grid lane that I would eventually travel pass, I decided to stop, back up, and investigate the curious signal that my machine alerted me to.

I swung my coil a few times over the area where I heard the tone and to my greatest surprise…there it was…I found the first ring! It was Lisa’s gorgeous diamond engagement ring! I couldn’t believe it! I discovered one of the two rings completely by accident! What were the odds of that?! Earlier, I prayed to the Lord before beginning the search and my « Heavenly Hero » was already once again helping me to become, yet again, a ring hero for my clients! I was thrilled!

Within another minute or so, I found the wedding band not more than a few feet from where I found the other ring! The entire search was over within about 5 minutes! I could not have been happier and even more so for my two clients!

It was a special moment for me to safely return both sentimental rings to their proper owner. Lisa was most grateful and extremely impressed with how fast I was able to recover her treasures. I had to be completely honest with her in explaining that I had to give all glory and credit to God above for helping me stumble across the first diamond ring which quickly led me to find the second one!

Before leaving, Lisa allowed me to say a prayer for she and her husband. I then packed up my gear, headed back to my car, and drove away with a tremendous feeling of joy in my heart knowing how I was able to help bring that tumultuous and trial-filled chapter for that couple finally to an end.

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Trey was playing baseball with his son in the front yard of their McLean, Virginia house. He believed that he lost his platinum wedding band when he took off his baseball glove. The ring was loose on his finger and because the same situation occurred once before, Trey assumed that the wedding band flew off the moment he pulled the mitt off of his hand.

The entire family searched long and hard for the very special memento, but in the end, all of their efforts led to no avail. Hours of looking had gone by and even the metal detector that they used to locate the jewel did not help the distraught man with recovering the ring.

At some point, Trey and his wife Tracy went on to the internet and searched for a new solution. They found the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. It was at that point that I was contacted and Trey shared the whole story from start to finish.

Later that evening, I headed over to the family’s McLean, Virginia residence to conduct my own ring search on their front lawn. There were plenty of leaves scattered about and Trey didn’t want to remove any of the tree debris until after his ring was recovered. He was worried that If he had cleaned up the front yard, the jewel could have been swept into a leaf bag and taken away to the dump by accident.

After Trey and his son had finished showing me where they played ball and their overall movements on the front lawn, I immediately returned to my car to retrieve all of the metal detecting equipment necessary to conduct the search.

I truly love the searches that I participate in when I end up finding the sought after object within a few minutes swinging my detector. Well, I can happily share that this particular « project » turned out to be just like one of those cases! I was metal detecting around the batter’s cage that was off to one side of the property when I picked up an excellent signal. I knelt down to the ground and positioned my high lumens headlamp towards the area that I was searching, and there it was! I found it! I successfully recovered Trey’s lost Platinum wedding band that he so loved and cherished! The piece of precious metal had been hiding under some leaves in the grass. It was such a fantastic moment, especially when I surprised the whole family with the fantastic news! I truly love helping people… especially this family that was so very warm and kind to me! I’ll never forget them!

Throwing a Ring is « Normal »

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Carlise’s gigantic 14 karat yellow gold and 2 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring with 40 additional diamonds (adding up to another 3 carats worth of diamonds)!

Chris and Carlise happy together once again now that the couple’s gorgeous « super bowl » size ring was finally recovered by professional ring finder and metal detectorist Brian Rudolph

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

The word « normal » is defined as: conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected. When somebody gets upset with someone else, throwing a ring happens to be more expected than you would think.

As a professional ring finder, I along with many members of the elite metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS have met hundreds of clients who lost their rings due to tossing or throwing a wedding band, engagement ring, sweetheart ring, promise ring or maybe a combination of all the above.

In the case of Carlise and Chris, they too had their moment of stress, and as a result… Carlise’s 14 karat yellow gold, 2 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring with 40 additional diamonds (adding up to another 3 carats worth of diamonds) went completely missing somewhere on the side of their house.

For the next week, the couple along with some of their friends searched diligently with a metal detector for the very special keepsake, but all of their efforts led to no avail. When one metal detector did not work, they sent it back and ordered a second one to try that one out and still the ring was nowhere to be found. Eventually, the couple searched online and fortunately they found THE RING FINDERS website. Before long I was on my phone talking with Chris and scheduling a time to come out to help recover his wife’s lost engagement ring.

The next day, I arrived at the couple’s residence and I couldn’t wait to get started with the search. Carlise shared with me where she was standing in the driveway when she threw her beautiful piece of gold and « ice ».

As soon as I got all of the facts, I took out my metal detector and other necessary gear from the car and started the search on the lawn just along side of the driveway. Within a minute or two, my metal detector gave me just the right signal that I had been looking for! I took my pinpointer, knelt down to the ground and carefully checked the spot where my machine was sounding off. There it was! Hidden in the grass just feet from the edge of the driveway, my eyes beheld a huge « super bowl » sized engagement ring! I had never seen such a humongous betrothal keepsake! There were diamonds everywhere around that very large 2 carat solitaire rock!

The moment that I grabbed the ring between the blades of glass where I discovered the jewel, I took off in the direction of where Carlise was standing and I immediately presented her with the amazing engagement ring! My client absolutely lost it with excitement! Carlise couldn’t believe that I had found her lost jewel so very quickly after she, Chris and a number of others had spent countless hours searching for the ring all to come up completely empty handed!

I reminded my clients before and after the search project that throwing rings are quite normal in my line of work. So many couples take their anger out on these precious objects that I call « symbols of love ». You may ask yourself, ‘Why throw these expensive irreplaceable items?’. The answer is simple; I will sum it up with two questions and two answers.

1. What’s the one object that means the most to someone at one point in time that represents love, commitment, faithfulness, covenant and thoughtfulness? Answer: A ring.

2. What’s one way to get your loved one’s attention when deciding to lose control? Answer: Throwing that meaningful and irreplaceable object!

You see, though it’s unhealthy, unfruitful and extremely hurtful to throw such an important item, it’s still considered a very normal and expected behavioral response. So much so that I truly expect to soon get another phone call or text from yet another client who did the very same thing that Carlise and Chris had sadly experienced!
