Survey Pins found in Kelowna

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

My usual requests are for assistance with lost jewellery items, yesterday was to locate a property survey pin. After viewing the area, I identified 3 problems, the neighbours metal fence, a large tree with roots in the area, and a large Sanitary manhole cover close by. There were many signals in the location, many being large signals, one was either a pipe or a cable, but my smaller coil searched between them and gave me the signal I was looking for, a short consistent blip. we dug finding rocks with my probe. My pinpointer showed that after every rock, we were getting closer. At 14 inches depth I felt a square item that proved to be the pin. I was impressed that we found the pin in such a target rich environment, we measured from the found pin amd located the other back yard pin. The homeowner was excited and thankful, his estimate from a survey company was between $1,000 and $2000.

Water into Wine in West Kelowna,

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Mission Hill Winery in West Kelowna BC, contacted me, they needed to locate a water shut off valve. They showed me the location on the hillside where they thought it was, after 45 minutes on the hillside covered with periwinkle finding junk metal and lighting, I was getting tired. As I got to the top of the hill by the building, I visually saw a capped plastic white pipe sticking out of the ground. I told them that is what they cover the shut off valves with, they said we have to reward you, that`s the 2 bottles of wine by the cover in the picture.

Ring recovered at Bradley Beach, NJ

Got a call from Mia asking for help in locating her daughter Rebecca’s ring she lost the day before on the beach. It was a gift from her late grandmother. Told her I would and met up with them at the beach. They gave me 3 options as to were it might be. It would either be where they were sitting, at their beach locker or in their front yard at the house. Rebecca said she didnt do anything but sit on the beach and I figured just sitting you wouldnt loose a ring. So we went to the locker where they put their beach items in, it might of slipped off while putting stuff away. She pulled everything out of the locker and it wasn’t in there. I turned on my detector and on the first sweep i got a great signal and sure enough there was her ring. She couldnt believe it and was so grateful to have it back. He smile showed it all.

Wedding Ring Found in Central Vermont

Got a call from a lady who’s husband had just lost his platinum wedding ring. He had been exercising a retriever by throwing a ball into a small pond when his ring flew off. He wasn’t sure whether the ring was on the ground or out in the water. To make it worse for him, he had lost his first wedding ring in a different pond several years earlier. Also, the pressure was on because it was just a few days until their anniversary!

I went right over and he showed me the area. He was thinking it was most likely in shallow water, but I figured I might as well try the shoreline first. After only a few swings and one poor signal, I got a nice loud signal about a foot from the edge. I spread the tall grass apart and there it was! Not quite a record, but it sure was a quick hunt!! Didn’t have to put the wet suit on, thankfully, because it might be a little tight this Spring!

Ring recovered Carmel Beach

  • from Monterey (California, United States)

This couple was visiting Carmel Beach from Sacramento.   The fellow proposed to his girlfriend with this 1 carat diamond ring.   But a mere 30 minutes later, she felt the new ring slip off her finger in the dark.   Getting flung in the direction of her hand movement.   The dry sand immediately « swallowed up/covered » the ring.  Not visible from the surface.  After raking around with their fingers in the suspected zone for awhile, they figured a metal detector would solve this problem.  Thanks to the Ring Finder directory, we were able to hook up.  I was there within 30 minutes.   And within 30 seconds, they had their ring back.

Best Wishes for your marriage.  Congratz on your engagement.   Glad I could help.   Thanks for the tip.

I received a call from a friend, Chuck R., who refereed a man to me who lost his wedding ring while clearing debris off his boat dock. I contacted Matt A. and made arrangements to come out and find his ring. On Sunday morning I got my gear together and drove an hour and a half from Manistee, MI to Houghton Lake.

When I got there I met Matt’s nephew and he showed me the area where Matt’s ring came off. I gathered my gear and entered the water and 5 minutes later the ring was in his hand. This was my first find of the new season. I never get tired of this fun job and making another person happy.

Wedding ring lost in a car, found!

  • from Oregon City (Oregon, United States)

I received a message from Bharti saying she had found me on theringfinders.com, asking if I could help find her husband’s wedding ring.
I messaged back asking for some details. She told me had fallen below the driver’s seat of their car. I told her that a metal detector would be of limited use, due to the confined space, and mixed metals in the vehicle construction. I let her know I had an endoscope camera I could use to look around under the seat, and gave some suggestions to aid their search.

Bharti Told me they had received a’snake camera’ but had no luck with it. She thought maybe my expertise and experience might find the ring.

We agreed on a time to meet, and when I arrived, I met Bharti and her husband.

After removing all the floor mats, I looked under the seat with a bright LED flashlight. Finding nothing, I activated my endoscope and IPad and started probing around.
The rails, under the carpet, and vents found nothing, so I pushed the camera into some plastic trim pieces.

Under the right side of the driver’s seat, I saw a slight glimmer of gold, and when I twisted the camera, the plastic flexed, and out popped the ring.

Expertise, experience, or luck? Don’t know, but a wedding ring reunited.

Working the wreckage of a tornado to find and return items to the victims.

  • from Lincoln (Nebraska, United States)

Give us a call what do you have to lose when you have lost everything to a tornado. Nick and his daughter lost their home to a tornado. Yes 12 rings are fun to find but the sentimental items are tops. Of the items I was able to find, the 1908 1/4 gold eagle that was his dad’s was my favorite. 2nd would be the firefighter hat badge of Nicole’s grandfather. Pictured below are some of the items I was able to find. Rob 402-580-6933

The Mystery of the Mobius Loop Solved!

The Mobius loop or strip as it’s called has many different properties and applications, from mathematics, machinery and recently the shape has been incorporated into jewelry to symbolize infinite and eternal love. The concept of the design is that if you were to travel once around the loop, you’d return to the starting point as a mirror image, making it nearly impossible to define if you were going clockwise or counterclockwise. Little did I know that this was the design of Usher’s ring that went missing while doing yardwork. As I started to search, I definitely felt that I was going in circles, inside some kind of forcefield.  For such a small search area, junk metal signals made my deeper seeking metal detector sound like a machine gun. So, I dialed up the detector’s discrimination a bit and that helped. Scanning the coil of that metal detector thru hedges and picker bushes revealed nothing. So, taking a step back away from this strange vortex I decided to metal detect from farther out and close in on the area using my MXT metal detector with my bigfoot loop, which has supreme shielding capabilities. Closing in on available landscape, I kept getting a mixed signal on the meter, close to platinum but bouncing around. Reaching thru the thick grass was this aluminum piece of junk embedded in the ground. Removing it revealed Usher’s ring squished underneath! Apparently when the ring fell off, somehow Usher stepped on it as well as a piece of aluminum that littered the area of the cleanup. He was shocked in disbelief that his ring was there as he said he looked all over that area. It was then I saw the infinity loop design and with the ring back on his finger, the platinum loop is now back in place to symbolize and encourage Usher and his wife to strive each and every day to be eternally united in love and enjoy infinite happy times together into the future. Included is a schematic of my interpretation of the loop, with directional lines of energy, and as the saying goes……….opposites attract!
