This is a special ring story to share because it has to do with young love, drama, mystery, hope, adversity, perseverance and lastly…redemption! I received a text message at 12:55 am from a young lady named Trinity who was desirous of recovering her lost promise ring. This is what she texted: « Hello this is Trinity. I lost a ring about 2 years ago that I got from my husband (then boyfriend) when we had first started. My husband doesn’t want me to keep trying to find the ring. But every time I think of it I feel guilty I lost it and I grow to love it more and more. I’m aching to get it back. I know it’s been awhile. So it’s not high chances but I wanted to discuss details with you to see how bad you think it will be to find it. » When I woke up that morning I immediately responded: « Hello Trinity, Thank you for contacting me. I would love to help. When can we discuss the details of its disappearance?” We talked later that morning on the phone and here is the backstory regarding how the ring got lost and what Trinity did to try to find her special keepsake:

A couple of years earlier while Trinity was attending Potomac Falls High School in Cascades, Virginia (near Sterling), she fell in love with Francisco who gave her a gold plated promise ring. It meant everything to her. Four months after Trinity received the special jewel, tension befell the couple. Something majorly challenging happened between them. The young lady was so hurt that once the final school bell sounded throughout the halls, Trinity stormed out of the school building, made her way over to her car, took her promise ring off of her finger and while standing in the middle of the student parking lot, she threw the keepsake towards a wooded area. The heated girl believed she heard the ring hit the parking lot pavement or curb before it disappeared. She was hoping that the promise ring ended up in the woods rather than it ricocheting back onto the concrete where it eventually would be found by someone else. Trinity thought she may have heard the ring hit some leaves which gave her some hope that her “symbol of love” was still quite accessible. Though the young lady was quite angry, she still hoped that the ring had cleared the woods and that it didn’t end up where someone could pocket it.

A week or so later, when things cooled down between the couple, Trinity had feelings of regret for throwing the ring. She rented a metal detector and searched for six hours in the woods hoping to find her precious symbol of promise. Unfortunately, Trinity wasn’t able to find her ever so important “symbol of promise”. There were several obstacles that the young girl faced which made it nearly impossible for her to find what she was looking for. One, it was possible that the ring never made it into the woods and that someone had already picked it up off of the parking lot asphalt. Two, Trinity lacked experience with metal detecting. Three, there was tons of trash scattered on and beneath the leaves which made it extremely difficult for her to make any sense out of all of the beeps and bleeps she was hearing and seeing on her machine. Lastly, there was a large area of dense thorn bushes and bramble covering a significant portion of territory where the ring could have ended up, and so Trinity stayed away from that particular danger zone for obvious reasons.

On the brighter side of things, time marched on and the couple eventually got married after finishing high school. As the years progressed, Trinity felt guilty for throwing the promise ring and she thought about it quite often. Now that she was wearing her wedding band, she so desired to possess the entire love story represented partially by the promise ring that her once high school sweetheart Francisco had given her. It kept bothering her that she didn’t even have that special piece of jewelry for more than a third of that year. In addition to that, the guilt and regret kept eating her up inside.

Trinity eventually searched online for new ideas as to how she might be able to find her ring (if it was still somewhere out there). That’s when THE RING FINDERS website popped up. Trinity couldn’t wait until later that morning to contact me! That’s when she sent me that after midnight text message! As I indicated above, the two of us talked later that morning on the phone. Trinity shared with me that her husband was in doubt that the ring could ever be recovered and encouraged Trinity to move on. Yet, after reading many of my successful ring stories and testimonials from my happy clients, she felt very confident that if the ring was still out there, I was her guy to find it!

After talking with Trinity and asking her every question imaginable, I expressed to her that I was confident that there was a good chance we could recover this ring. During that conversation, there was no mention of the jewel hitting the pavement before she believed it made it to the woods. I would discover that vital part of the account upon meeting her at the search location. That would have concerned me from the start but it still would not have deterred me from trying to recover the item. The facts that made me feel good about my chances of success had to do with what Trinity shared with me:

One, she threw it towards the grass and the woods (I did not know about the trees and thorns until I arrived at the search site). Two, the ring was a small petite size of 4.5 or 4.75. I didn’t know that the ring was a very thick wedding band style type which therefore could have easily been eyeballed if it was out in public on the grassy area completely exposed. Three, when the ring was thrown, it was in the season of Fall which was positive because the ring could have ended up under some leaves and became camouflaged from being seen by anyone walking by. Also with the gold being the color yellow, it would blend nicely into the aged leaves settling onto the ground. Four, no one else specifically took notice of what had transpired when Trinity had thrown the ring, but others just knew that something bad had taken place between she and her boyfriend when the angry girl stormed across the parking lot. There were a few positive pieces of information to lean upon with this search and I looked forward to checking the site out as soon as Trinity would be back in touch with me.

Another day went by and I had not heard from my potential client so I texted Trinity once again: « Good morning Trinity, it was a pleasure talking with you the other day. Let me know if I can be of assistance to you in the recovery of your beloved promise ring. All the best and have a wonderful day! Brian Rudolph / The Ring Finders ». Trinity responded: « Oh yes please! I spoke to my husband… and he too is interested if you can find it! »

Another week went by and I didn’t hear anything else from Trinity and so I thought that maybe she decided to let the search idea go by the wayside. Then, out of the blue, a few days later I heard back from her! We then set up the search date and time to meet over at her old high school parking lot.

During my first trip out to Potomac Falls High School, it was pretty cold outside. I wore some heavy winter gear and met my client out by the parking lot near the place where she threw the ring nearly two years earlier. Trinity showed me where she was standing in the middle of the parking lot, approximately 30 feet or so away from the edge of the curb. Then, above the concrete the lawn began and it gradually dipped down to where the woods began. The young lady wasn’t sure exactly where the ring hit the asphalt but she believed it bounced off of the pavement somewhere and hoped that it landed in the woods. As I shared earlier, Trinity believed that she may have heard it settle onto some leaves or something. In the next couple of weeks following that first search attempt, I asked my client why she thought she heard the ring hit the leaves in the woods knowing how angry she was at the time. Most people would not have had such self control and sensitivity to be so attuned to her surroundings at such an emotional state. The young lady was pretty confident that at that time she wanted to make sure that the ring was not in public site.

When I got all of the details that I needed to start the search, I said a prayer with Trinity, asking the Lord to bless our time in seeking to recover the lost ring. Then, I gathered my gear and began the hunt. Trinity remained in her car where it was warm. She read her book as well as took interest with what I was doing from time to time. When I dug up a target I would hold it up and show her what I had found. There was so much trash that after awhile my client’s interest faded and she focused more on the pages in front of her than the many pull tabs, bottle caps, coins and much scrap pieces of various types of metal that I constantly unearthed and waved in her direction.

Every 20 to 30 seconds I was back down on the ground detecting another shallow signal that was just below the surface. As I moved leaves out of the way there would be various pieces of trash made primarily out of aluminum. I found aluminum foil, beer cans, soda cans, condom wrappers, marijuana joint wraps, aluminum wrappers, ketchup packets, other products made from aluminum foil that wrapped up food items at one time, a shotgun shell, and much more.

I would search for nearly three and a half hours that morning into early afternoon. At some point I needed to wrap up the search to get to my next client. I encouraged her that this was just all part of the process of elimination. Even though I didn’t find the ring, I could at least know where the ring was not. The question was whether or not the band had been seen by anyone else if it never reached the woods. I would not know that answer unless I continued forward the next time I returned.

I encouraged Trinity that we covered a lot of square footage and removed a tremendous amount of trash for one search visit. Before we parted, I showed her all of the sections that I searched and what areas I would scan on the next trip out. I told my client that I would leave all of the thorn bushes and bramble untouched until we concluded that the ring was nowhere else in the woods. At least I was able to conclude one thing – the ring was not on the grassy areas which covered approximately 7 feet in depth from the curb, down the small hill and out towards the woods. The grid I conducted was stretched 70 feet from left to right. When I would start back up again on my next search attempt, I would be tackling only sections of the ground that contained leaves, dirt and lots more trash. A few minutes after we both said our goodbyes and drove away from the high school parking lot, I texted Trinity: « Hang in there Trinity! We got this! We will definitely find it for you soon enough! As I said to you, I will text you later with my availability this week. All of the best to you on this Sunday!” She texted back: « Thank you! Have a good Sunday. »

The next day, I texted Trinity my schedule and let her know that I could make it out that Thursday. I shared with her that she could fully trust me if she was not able to be present for Part Two of the search. I said, « Even if you are not able to be there, I assure you that you can feel comfortable knowing that your beloved ring will be returned to you should I find it out there in the woods! » She texted back, « Yeah it’s all good, I trust you. Thursday I will be preoccupied but you can keep searching without me. » I responded, « Oh wonderful! Thank you Trinity! You can trust me 100%. I mean this when I say that I am the only one capable of finding your beloved promise ring due to the fact that I’m the only one with so much « OCD » (LOL) to go through the trash piece by piece in that amount of area. The ring could have bounced much farther if it ricocheted off of the curb. So I’m your best bet and I hope I can make a story out of this for us! » Trinity responded, « Yes that would be wonderful! Thank you. »

Thursday arrived and it was pouring rain outside as I drove to the search site. I decided to keep moving and not cancel just in case the rain would slow down. Thank goodness it did. From 9:30 am to 12:30 pm I continued the search, pulling out more trash and covering the wooded area that was most reasonable to search. I may have detected about 35 to 40 feet into the woods and stretching 70 feet from left to right. I used specialized grid tapes to organize the entire operation so not to miss a single square inch. I covered so much territory that when I was done, there was no other real estate left for me to search except for the wooded areas that were confined by a huge amount of bramble and thorn vines that stretched to nearly 8 to 10 feet in the air (Yes, you read it correctly! From the ground towards the sky it was approximately between 8 to 10 feet high) and stretched across for nearly 50 feet from left to right. There was literally an entire mini forest filled with long and windy thorn branches as sharp and dangerous as knives!

When I was done with the second search attempt, I sent a picture of all of the trash that I had found out in the woods and I let Trinity know that I still had not found her beloved promise ring. Later that day I again sent another text message letting her know that I would be planning to come out the following Monday: « Hi Trinity, I wanted to let you know I am planning to come out Monday to continue the search and I’m going to need to cut all of the thorn branches down in order for me to get into that area where that huge forest of thorns exists! I have an electric trimmer that should cut everything down. I will let you know what time I plan to be out there. I’m pretty sure Monday will work. » I did not hear back from her at all and I wondered if she had already started giving up hope that she would ever see her priceless promise ring ever again.

Unfortunately, when the next Monday came, the weather was not kind to me at all. I had to cancel the search and schedule my trip back to Virginia a couple of days later (which would be Wednesday). Again, sadly to say, it happened once more. The skies opened up and once again I was forced to postpone the continuation of the project. Just like with all of the other times, I texted Trinity and informed her that I would schedule my next trip to the site on the upcoming Monday for Part Three of the search.

It had been 11 days since I had last heard back from Trinity during our back and forth correspondence via text messaging. I still had not received any responses from Trinity which again made me more convinced that my client had given up all hope that her ring would ever be recovered. I concluded this when I didn’t hear from her anymore. Yet, as far as I was concerned, I was still determined to complete what I had started and continue to give it my all.

When the day finally came for me to resume the search and begin Part Three of the extremely tedious project, as always, I let my client know that I had arrived and was preparing for the search. I texted her: « Call me if you want to chat as I get my gear out. My first mission is to chop down all of that thick thorn activity. » Even after that correspondence I still did not hear back from Trinity.

I began my search with prayer as I did with the young lady on my first visit out. Then, it was time to use my lithium battery operated hedge trimmer to cut the first of many large sections of thorn bushes and coverings to gain further access into the woods and closer to the ground to be able to continue metal detecting for the little “symbol of promise”. The thorn bramble stalks were so thick that I had to literally push the already trimmed bundles out of the way with my cutting “war machine” arsenal because the thorns were so high off the ground and I needed to get the detector coil farther below the mess in order to obtain accurate signals. As I shared earlier in the story, the growth was something I had never seen before! The thorn branches extended from the ground straight up in the air and entangled its web around tree limbs that had to be at least 10 feet up from the earth! The overgrowth was so dense that there was even a bird’s nest built to perfection with a security system that made it nearly impossible for the rest of that natural environment to penetrate!

Once I finished cutting down a considerable section of enemy territory, I pushed, wacked, and carefully carried much of the bulk of bramble piles out of the detection zone so as to further my investigation. Next, I continued to metal detect until I would run out of real estate once again. During that long and laborious process, I scanned lots more trash under the leaves that rested below their protective bramble-made shield. Every 30 seconds or so I would pick up a new target signal, stop to investigate, unearth the target with my hand digger, deposit the trash into my bag, pick up my machine again and resume detecting some more. It was a start, stop, and then start-up all over again process!

After I cut down that first large section of thorns and eventually finished scanning every square inch of that portion of ground (all to come up with nothing of importance), I again found myself wielding the heavy green and black Ryobi hedge trimmer, attacking the enemy before me like a Rambo type mercenary in the deep dense forest! While I was doing all of that work, I heard some opposing thoughts that constantly whispered into my ear: ‘What if all of this tedious and tough labor is all for nothing?” What if the ring never even made it into the woods and I am cutting, digging and detecting for absolutely zero to be recovered?’ Regardless of those inner reality remarks of doubt, I pushed on and continued the search with great perseverance.

Once again, I picked up my metal detector and began to search all over the second cleared area where the ‘throne of thorns’ held much of that real estate hostage for years upon years. I sadly concluded that the ring was still nowhere to be found in that zone. With much resilience, I picked up the trimmer after taking a break and did yet another large section of cutting so that I could get even farther into the woods and search more area below. As soon as I cleared that third large section of territory, I knew that this would have to be my final area to investigate. There was just way too much overgrowth to continue any further. It was getting to that point where I could not see an end to all of the madness! The bramble was everywhere and weaved itself around everything! The thorn ‘hives’ and coverings stretched another 30 feet into the woods and even farther over to the left. I felt that what I had cleared up to that point was suffice in relationship to where the ring could have bounced and how far it would have potentially traveled after hitting the curb. This would be my final attempt to recover Trinity’s lost ring before having to call it quits. The thorn area that I cut in total was 30 feet wide, 15 feet deep into the woods and 7 feet in the air in every direction.

For the last time, I picked up my metal detector, placed my headphones on and continued playing the role of trash collector as I discovered more and more old cans, wrappers, bottles with metal tops and then some. Finally, after about two hours of searching and cutting, I got a signal which registered as an 8 and 9 indicator numbers on the detector screen. I had been getting those great signals the entire time out there because most of the targets ended up being little pieces of aluminum foil which mirrored that very range of numbers that I had been looking for. In all honesty, I didn’t think much of this particular target that was clearly buried beneath the ground. I was getting pretty tired at that point and every target that I was digging up would end up being the same disappointment – another similar piece of trash that I had already found in so many other places. Yet, I was forced to dig every single one of them up because I knew that the jewel would have to be slightly below the surface after nearly two years missing. My guess was that the ring buried itself to a depth of an inch or two at most. I dug up the target thinking it was just going to be yet another piece of trash. I took out my pinpointer and placed it down into the hole to isolate the exact spot where there object was positioned in the dirt. Once I zeroed in on the target, I continued to dig and then repeated the process by testing the hole with the handheld detector one more time. To my surprise, the metal object was no longer in the 4 to 5 inch pit that I had created. I then scanned the ground around the hole to see where the target ended up. Eventually, my pinpointer honed in on a particular clump of mud that contained whatever this mystery object happened to be. Almost immediately I saw just a tiny glimpse of something that looked gold in color, packed in dirt, and was completely surrounded by mud and portions of broken up leaves. My heart raced as I saw what appeared to be a gold ring with little stones going completely around the halo shaped object’s equator! I had found Trinity’s ring! I couldn’t believe it! I truly could not face the reality of what I was looking at!

The whole moment was completely surreal as I was not prepared for what had just transpired! Every trip I made, every task I took, every tool I used to bring me to this very spot was all worth the relentless efforts that I made! I continuously thanked the Lord for being there with me and guiding me through this entire journey until reaching this pinnacle of excitement and success! I was beyond moved by the moment and quite humbled by the fact that God allowed me to be the one to find the treasure and ultimately help this very kind young lady with recovering her precious “circle of love”! I was so happy that the sought after keepsake did in fact make it into the woods! All of my time talking and texting Trinity about the search, all of my commuting to the search site, all of my detecting, digging and demolition was not in vain! Everything I did was propelled based on a hope that the ring had in fact made it over the curb after hitting the asphalt! What a deep feeling of satisfaction I experienced out there in the woods with my knees to the ground!

As soon as I cleaned off the very pretty ring, I held it up in front of my eyes and I thought to myself, ‘To think that I am the first person to touch this ring since it was thrown by Trinity’s hand 2 years earlier. This was the very piece of jewelry that was bought by Francisco to represent his promise unto marriage one day, the same gift presented somewhere special as a surprise for the young man’s sweetheart and ultimately worn for several months before the unfortunate crisis took place with the couple.

The entire search that day was conducted from 2 pm until 4:30 pm. Before packing my things up, I measured the “crime scene” to see how many feet this little guy traveled, starting from the very spot where Trinity threw the keepsake and ending at its eventual resting place where I discovered the jewel. In total, it traveled 52 feet. Of that distance, it traveled approximately 17 feet into the woods surrounded by a forest of thorns and thistles!

Once I finished taking photos and video, I called Trinity to see if she could come out to the site so that I could share the big surprise with her in person. Unfortunately, she was not able to make it out to the high school due to her schedule. However, we eventually did a video conference call together and that’s when Trinity was absolutely blown away by the news of my discovery! She did not know that I had found the promise ring prior to setting up the phone call! When I finally did the ring reveal it was a moment that I will never forget! Trinity began to cry and the emotions of excitement and gratitude began to pour from within her heart and flow from her eyes! I could not have been happier for the newlywed bride! She couldn’t stop thanking me and asking me questions about where I ultimately found the irreplaceable gem! What a fantastic time that it was for me to share such an unexpected happy report! I never gave up and I kept on believing until the very end!

The story finally came to an encouraging conclusion when Trinity and I reunited back at her former high school for one last time so I could personally hand her the ring that she so desperately wanted back in her possession! I had the pleasure and joy to orient my client over to the hole where I found the ring buried, as well as showed the young lady all of the bramble that I had cut down to gain access into that last piece of real estate where I eventually found the keepsake! My client was amazed! That very sad chapter that took place two years earlier had finally come to an end. The memories of adversity experienced on that particular day in the parking lot were now replaced with smiles and celebration of redemption!

I was so excited to find this ring for Trinity! It definitely turned out to be a « legendary story » because nobody really knew for sure whether or not the ring ever made it into the woods, even though in the end Trinity was correct that she did in fact hear the jewel hit the leaves. Many of my clients believe they experienced one thing or another during the disappearance of their special item. However, sometimes in the end, we come to find out that the true reality of the situation paints a completely different picture once the search is completed. In this particular case, my client was not only correct about what had happened, but also Trinity did the courageous thing and hired a professional ring finder to attempt to solve this mystery. In the end, I was extremely proud to profess these two final words…“Case Closed”!

As a professional ring finder, you never know where the next phone call will take you. This story certainly takes the « wedding cake »! I received a phone call from a young lady who had just gotten married approximately 18 hours before I was contacted. Michaele, the newlywed bride, shared with me that she sadly could not be married with her wedding band because it had gotten lost sometime around the time of the wedding ceremony. Here is the backstory as to what happened leading up to the moment when I received Michaele’s call for help:

The Wheel of Time Book Renaissance-Style Book Which Michaele Used to Secure the Two Wedding Rings Within for Her Beautiful Wedding Ceremony

Prior to leaving for the wedding, the bride placed both wedding bands (hers and his) inside a special hollowed out renaissance style book which folds together and then secured by leather twine. It mainly was hard material and very flat (like a book that folded together). There was space between the two bindings to place the two marital keepsakes inside of it. Michaele knew that her husband-to-be, George, loved the book series called The Wheel of Time. This particular « ring holder » that she picked out to use for the wedding was actually a Wheel of Time online product. She thought that George would really appreciate something like this for the ceremony. It was quite creative of her to incorporate George’s sentiment with the series during their special moment when they would exchange rings.

Once the two « circles of love » were placed inside the flat book and the two bindings enclosed the jewelry, the item was tied with the renaissance-style cord attached to it. Lastly, Michaele took the Wheel of Time novelty and packaged it up for safe keeping in its original box. Then, the excited bride gathered up all of the rest of her things needed for the ceremony and finished preparing to leave for her wedding – one of the most special moments in her entire life!

On the way to the wedding, Michaele gave the « book of rings » to her Maid of Honor who had it safely secured inside a bag with some other items that were also taken to Fairwinds on the Severn Beach Club where the wedding ceremony would soon take place.

As soon as the bride’s car arrived at the wedding venue, the person driving the vehicle parked it a little ways down a dead end path just about 200 feet from the front of the club house to keep the bride out of view from guests arriving. Michaele waited in her coach until it was time to make her appearance just prior to the time when the bridal party was to be assembled for the processional. Meanwhile, the Maid of Honor made sure that everything was in place and that the box with the rings inside were secured in the bag up until it was time for Michaele to personally hand the renaissance-style « flat book » to the ring bearer (who was waiting at the bottom of the steps of the lovely gazebo where the wedding ceremony was about to begin).

Eventually, the bride was brought to the front of the club house. She exited the vehicle and almost immediately greeted the young and handsome ring bearer who was excited to participate in the unforgettable event. Michaele took the Wheel of Time book from within its box and handed it to the nervous boy. At that point everything was ready to begin. Within minutes the bride would soon be walking up some steps to the top of the gazebo and then across the long wooden floor where she would be greeted with smiles from her future husband George!

This is now the part in the story when the unexpected drama ensued. The entire wedding party including the bride and groom were assembled inside the gazebo and the time had finally come for the ring bearer to present the renaissance-style book. Then, it was to be opened so that the wedding rings would be revealed. As soon as the ring bearer presented the book to be opened, the Maid of Honor and Best Man moved forward to take the rings out of the book. The plan was for the two of them to hand the « symbols of love » to the bride and groom for the ring exchange to take place. To everyone’s shock and dismay, the Maid of Honor was able to retrieve George’s wedding band from the Wheel of Time book, but the Best Man could not find Michaele’s wedding band anywhere! It was gone! The Best Man looked again and again and he finally confirmed for certain that the wedding band had not made it down to the altar! Panic amongst the bride and groom along with the rest of the wedding party immediately set in. I believe the Maid of Honor went off looking for the lost sacred wedding band (to see if maybe the ring fell out of the ring bearer’s book someplace along the route he traveled). Sadly, the ceremony came to a sudden halt. Not only did the groomsmen and bridesmaids begin looking about, but also many of the wedding guests took flight to see if they could rescue the poor young lad out of the doghouse for supposedly losing one of the most important elements in almost every wedding around the world.

I don’t know how much time had passed before it was concluded that the bride’s wedding band could not be recovered, but at some point the decision was made to continue the ceremony without the precious keepsake. The groom’s mother kindly volunteered to loan her very own band as a temporary replacement for the one that tragically went missing. She quickly slid her ring off of her finger and happily handed it to George’s Best Man who then in turn gave it to the groom. George eventually placed the family heirloom upon his beautiful bride’s finger and Michaele did the same with her sweetheart’s irreplaceable keepsake as well.

Michaele was extremely disappointed that she was not married with her actual wedding band which was specifically designed by the jeweler to nest itself into place with her lovely engagement ring. Nonetheless, the wedding was absolutely magical according to what the bride told me. Following the wedding, everyone was still hunting around for the lost diamond band that had sadly missed its special moment during the ceremony. The Maid of Honor was the most upset out of everyone next to the bride because she was the one that was designated to make certain that the rings made it to the wedding and that the ring bearer was prepared and ready to march them down to the altar. The young lady kept looking in the original empty box that the Wheel of Time book had originally been secured in until the time that the ring bearer was given it to hold for the ceremony. There were guests looking on the road and studying the wooden cracks of the gazebo’s flooring hoping to spot the lost keepsake. Also, people were scanning the grass with their eyes and searching between rocks that were spread apart down by the water. The poor ring bearer began to cry as he was being interrogated by some of the relatives while the wedding pictures were being taken.

Approximately 30 people or more took interest in the treasure hunt for the lost wedding band following the wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, none of the family and friends (who had such passion to recover such a priceless piece of jewelry) were able to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Michaele’s wedding band. At some point the wedding party and guests had to return to their cars and head for the reception. It was time for everyone to switch gears and begin to celebrate the covenant that had recently been made between Michaele and George.

It wasn’t until the next morning that the bride spent a little time looking online, searching for a metal detecting service in the Severna Park, Maryland area. She wanted to see if maybe a professional could find her lost keepsake (if it hadn’t already been found by someone walking around the clubhouse following the ceremony). THE RING FINDERS website popped up on her phone and immediately Michaele searched for a local metal detectorist who might be able to help her recover the special band. My contact information became available to the bride and within a few minutes (while she was getting ready for a special post-wedding luncheon with close family and friends) the young lady had me gripped while I listened to her very dramatic and most disappointing details regarding the disappearance of her beloved wedding band.

As soon as Michaele finished giving me all of the details regarding what took place during her special day, I was struck with such compassion for the young lady and I told her that I would do everything in my power to recover her lost wedding band – the « symbol of love » that never made it down the isle. I told her that I would adjust my schedule for the day so that I could focus just on this particular search which was extremely time sensitive. Though my client shared that there was not going to be another wedding or other special event at that particular venue that day, we didn’t know if people in the neighborhood or other visitors might end up eyeballing the ring if it was lying somewhere in plain sight. The odds of that were very slim simply because there were dozens of people looking on the ground, the front walkway, in the grass and all over the wood flooring of the clubhouse gazebo.

Michaele was so very grateful for my passion and excitement to attempt to redeem the situation as best as one could under the circumstances. I would give it all I had to try and find that which meant so very much to the new bride. As soon as we said goodbye, the newlywed couple began to host their post-wedding brunch while I started to prepare for my own visit to the very place where the couple « tied the knot » less than 24 hours earlier.

In getting ready for the search, I knew that this particular project was a very special and unique type of recovery operation. With a bit of creativity and color in my thoughts, I asked myself what would be appropriate to wear to the former wedding venue. Normally I would just have on some jeans or shorts depending on the weather outside. For this particular special circumstance I decided to dress formal for the occasion! I wore my full black tie tuxedo suit! This included a tuxedo shirt, studs, cufflinks, tuxedo pants, tuxedo patent leather shoes, a vest and of course my James Bond style tuxedo jacket! Because of how unique this particular story happened to be, I felt it would be fun to be festive and do the entire search in a tuxedo outfit! An absolute first for me to do this! I wasted no time in getting ready and within 45 minutes I was in the car driving to Severna Park, Maryland.

I arrived down by the water of this most serene environment within an hour of leaving my home. As I was pulling in to the private property of Fairwinds on the Severn Beach Club, I could see the clubhouse with its marvelous gazebo stretching over most of the building. I immediately could see why the couple wanted to get married in such a lovely environment with an absolutely stunning backdrop. The scene out on the water was beyond spectacular!

As I imagined the whole dramatic moment when people started looking everywhere for the missing ring, I took notice of the front drive where the bride was brought to the front of the walkway (which then takes one up a flight of steps to the gazebo). I observed the long grassy-like bushes on the left and much grass to the right of the short walkway which were potential spots where the ring bearer could have opened up the book and accidentally dropped the ring. That was one of the theories that the bride, groom and some of the wedding party had discussed.

After parking my vehicle in front of the clubhouse where Michaele was dropped off prior to walking towards the altar, I got out my metal detecting gear and began to look over the entire property. The first thing that I wanted to do was to check all of the gaps between the gazebo’s wooden flooring. I took note of where the ring could have slipped down below the planks. In my estimation there were just a couple of places where this was even possible and so I chose to put aside any additional investigating of that area unless it was necessary to take another look later on.

My next location to focus on was the grassy lawn. I metal detected the left side of the front walk and there was nothing found at all but little pieces of scrap metal. On the right side of the front walkway was a much larger strip of grass. Nobody knew whether or not the ring bearer had strolled around on the grass while waiting to be called for the processional walk. Therefore, it was essential that I carefully scan the lawn for the ring.

Slowly and methodically I grid searched for the very small and dainty wedding band that had never reached Michaele’s finger on the day of her wedding. Because the ring was so very petite, there was not a lot of white gold to detect. That is why I needed to go slow and carefully analyze every potential signal that I would come across as I moved in perfectly straight lines. Unfortunately, there was no jewelry to be found in that location. It was then time to move to the next search section.

I wasn’t looking forward to this next leg of the « investigation » but it had to be done. I began using my metal detector and my handheld pinpointer to search between the rocks and crevices located below the clubhouse steps and vestibule. I needed to be certain that the band did not fall between the gaps in the flooring and end up down below near the water. Luckily, gaps that were wide enough to accommodate a « halo » this small were pretty much non-existent in that area. There were only a couple of spots that I needed to check out. My conclusion was that the young boy did not lose the ring in that area while walking up the steps and turning left towards the gazebo to complete his march in the direction of where the bridal party stood.

When I was certain of one more place where I knew the ring wasn’t hidden, I moved on to yet another piece of the property. I metal detected over a section of white stones and rocks that were in a flower bed located to the left of the front walkway and adjacent to the front driveway. With the ring being made out of white gold, it would blend in perfectly with the stones and small rocks spread out in that particular piece of landscaping. I scanned everywhere and over everything in that region (including under all of the bushes and shrubs) and still I came up with nothing.

Truly I say that I was getting a bit perplexed by all of my strikeouts up to that point! In recounting what transpired with the loss of the ring approximately 21 hours earlier, it didn’t make sense as to why I didn’t find the ring or anyone else during the time of the big event. It wasn’t found in the obvious hiding places such as in the grass, between the rocks near the water under the clubhouse, or laying with the flower bed stones, pebbles or under the bushes. This meant that there were only 4 possibilities remaining on the table that would explain why I hadn’t found the jewel up to that point: One, I was negligent and happened to miss hitting the ring while searching. Two, the wedding bridal party and guests missed spotting the band in plain sight and then later on someone else came by and pocketed the keepsake. Three, the ring never made it out of the bride’s vehicle and somehow it came out of the box that the Wheel of Time book was placed inside and landed on the floor of the car (Note: the Maid of Honor did check the seats and floor of the vehicle and found nothing). And four, the ring was lost somewhere on the front driveway (which I hadn’t detected yet) before the book was presented to the ring bearer.

Well, in reviewing all of those possibilities, there were only two of them that I could follow-up with. Before detecting all of the areas that I had previously completed to see if I missed it the first go around, I took the most logical choice: scan the section of asphalt driveway in front of the clubhouse. Though I looked earlier with my eyes all around the concrete and found nothing when I first arrived, I knew very well that one’s vision can find it hard to adjust to parking lot surfaces, driveways and paved paths. I had to be certain that I didn’t miss the treasure anywhere out front. How the ring could have fallen out of the outer box that held the renaissance-style book and then slip out of the tied shut novelty item was beyond my comprehension. Yet, I’ve seen plenty of unexplainable situations take place during my years of ring finding!

Immediately I picked up my machine and started to detect the driveway path in front of my vehicle and behind it. No white gold was discovered. I then put my gear down, retrieved my car keys and reversed the vehicle back some distance away from where I still needed to scan the section that was previously under my car. Next, I returned to that space where the vehicle was in the way and I began hitting that very last area in front of the wedding venue.

Just like with the pavement that I detected minutes earlier, I systematically searched the small remaining patch of asphalt. Then, to my greatest surprise, my detector screen and headphones indicated that a potential target had been picked up on the surface of the driveway. The indicator number showing up on the machine was in the low range which sometimes points to the possibility that I have found a small gold item! I immediately looked down towards the pavement and there it was… Michaele’s lost wedding band that had never made it to the wedding altar! I actually found it! Truly I couldn’t believe it! I looked everywhere and to my utter amazement the little white gold diamond ring had been laying on the asphalt that entire time!

This moment that I was experiencing was beyond thrilling for me! As I went to pick up the precious band that nested perfectly with Michaele’s engagement ring, I was feeling so much excitement about being able to recover the lost jewel. But in addition to that, I was extremely satisfied to be able to solve the mystery as to how the ring had actually gotten lost in the first place and where it had been hiding (or actually laying) all along!

In the Middle of the Venue’s Front Driveway Beheld Michaele’s Lost Wedding Band the Entire Time!

Michaele’s « symbol of love » was found in the middle of the driveway, approximately 5 feet away from the beginning of the front walkway leading to the clubhouse! From where I had found the precious jewel, it was obvious what had happened to it just prior to the wedding processional. While still in the car, the bride had taken the Wheel of Time flat book (which held the two rings inside of it) out of its outer box. She held onto the renaissance-style novelty item as Michaele made her way out of her « coach » and over to where the ring bearer was standing. Just as the fairy princess exited the vehicle, at that very moment the ring must have then slipped out of one of the sides of the book and fell to the pavement! This meant that the ring bearer never had any involvement with the disappearance of the wedding band! It had been lost prior to the little man ever receiving the « book of rings »! And all that time, no one ever saw the white gold diamond ring just laying there in the middle of the driveway! The reason that I didn’t see the ring from the beginning of my search was because the entire time that I was at the site, my car was parked directly on top of the little jewel! I should have never parked so close to the crime scene!

Now that I had successfully recovered the lost band, it was time to surprise the bride with the amazing news! Of course, I found the ring while wearing my tuxedo, so I figured it was only appropriate to remarry the couple with my black tie outfit on as well! The groom finally had the opportunity of placing the bride’s wedding band on her finger and I wasn’t about to miss that moment for the world!

One Can Easily See How the Petite Piece of Gold Blended Well With the Asphalt Driveway Surrounding the Wedding Band!

After a few failed attempts to track the couple down on the phone and another failed attempt to surprise them with the ring in hand under another gazebo next to their house, I eventually was able to make contact with the bride and groom who were just about to leave a restaurant where they were at with family and friends. Michaele and George were completely in shock that I had found the ring! They just couldn’t believe it! They told some of their family who were nearby to them and they too were amazed at the outcome! George and Michaele were so grateful for my work and tears of joy rolled down the cheek of the newlywed bride!

Excitedly, I asked the couple if they would like to gather up whoever was available (including the Best Man and Maid of Honor) and meet me back at the Fairwinds on the Severn Beach Club for a Part 2 Re-take of the wedding ceremony! This go around however, the bride would be receiving her beloved wedding band for the first time – the very ring that her groom George was to have slipped onto her finger almost a day earlier!

Believe it or not, it was still less than 24 hours from the time the couple had gotten married! It was our goal to see if we could conduct a second wedding just before the bride and groom made it to their official first-full day-of-marriage mark! The couple rushed back to the clubhouse where we quickly assembled under the gazebo at the very place where the wedding had taken place just short of a day earlier! George’s father took the new role as the groom’s Best Man and Michaele’s new mother-in-law took on the role as Maid of Honor. I had the distinct honor to be the couple’s marriage officiant!

Metal Detectorist and Officiant Brian Rudolph Conducts a Second Wedding Ceremony with the Bridal Couple and Their Parents, Completing the « Exchange of Rings » Portion of the Service with the Very Wedding Band that Rudolph Himself was Able to Recover for Michaele the Bride!

What a very special moment it was for all of us to fill in that one missing moment that never took place just less than a day earlier! With processional music playing on my smartphone, the bride walked down the isle just as she did once before and again her handsome groom awaited her arrival as his proud father stood along side him and I to the right of George. Michaele’s new Maid of Honor stood to my right allowing just the right amount of space for the bride to take her very much anticipated position!

The Bride, Groom, Their Parents and Brian Rudolph Jointly Celebrate Not Only the Return of the Lost Ring but Also the Completion of Their Initial Wedding Ceremony Now That Michaele’s Beautiful Wedding Ring Was Finally Included in the « Exchange of Rings » Portion of the Wedding Service Officiated by Rudolph Himself!

I can’t express how amazing that moment was for me to be able to conduct a second ceremony for the newlywed couple, leading the bride and groom in the « Exchange of Rings » portion that was never fully completed the day before! For me personally it was an extremely powerful time to witness George placing that special wedding band on Michaele’s finger – yes, the very same one that I was called upon to search for and which I successfully recovered for George’s fairy tale bride! All of us that were there that afternoon agreed that we will always feel a certain special connection with one another through what we experienced together at George and Michaele’s wedding venue less than a day after their initial blissful wedding ceremony which they will no doubt cherish for a lifetime…and then some!

Metal Detecting Yard for Lost Diamond Engagement Ring and Diamond Anniversary Enhancer Ring…Found in Damascus, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Mary’s Beautiful Two Rings Welded Together (Solitaire Diamond Engagement Ring Along with Her Multiple Diamond Anniversary Enhancer Ring) Found by Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph in Damascus, Maryland!

John and Mary of Damascus, Maryland Celebrating the Recovery of Their Lost Diamond Engagement Ring and Diamond Enhancer Ring Found by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a phone call from a woman named Mary who lost both her 14 carat yellow gold 2 carat solitaire diamond engagement ring and her attached anniversary enhancer ring comprised of 4 round diamonds (.75 carats each) – 2 of the stones set on each side in order to flank the large solitaire stone.

While throwing a ball to her dog to fetch in the backyard of her Damascus, Maryland house, Mary recalled feeling her gorgeous ring fly off of her finger. She looked for hours and yet she came up with nothing. Her husband John went outside to lend a hand with the search and he too couldn’t recover the « Missing In Action » sentimental keepsake. At some point the couple had enough. They decided to call one of their friends who metal detected as a serious hobby (especially hunting civil war relics). The guy metal detected the lawn for 6 hours! When all was said and done the two rings welded together (not a small piece of jewelry) were still nowhere to be found! The detectorist had no luck in finding the bands.

All of Mary’s resources had now been thoroughly exhausted and she started to lose hope that she would ever see her diamond rings ever again. With one last effort the woman went online and searched for help. Almost immediately Mary discovered THE RING FINDERS, an elite international directory of metal detecting specialists – experts at finding lost rings. She quickly found my contact information as I provide metal detecting services in Damascus, Maryland and soon after we were chatting on the phone together!

I believe it was later that day that I was in the car traveling to Mary and John’s house to attempt to solve the mystery of the lost ring. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by Mary and the two of us went to the backyard so that I could get a better idea of the « scene of the crime ». My client showed me where she was standing when she threw the ball to the dog and in what way she launched the rubber play toy. I looked around a bit and I curiously noticed lots of dug up holes and large dirt patches amongst her lovely grassy lawn. Mary shared with me that those were made as a result of the extremely zealous metal detectorist friend of theirs! He was very well meaning but for some reason he thought the ring ended up 4 to 5 inches below the earth in a matter of days!

Once I gathered up all of the facts necessary to better understand the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the two rings welded together, I got started on the search. Here is a picture of where I began detecting: If one were to face towards the rear of the couple’s property, I decided to metal detect starting nearest to the entrance of the yard and traveling from left-to-right rather than scanning the property with grid lines from the front of the yard towards the back. The reason for this was because everyone was thinking that the sentimental jewelry went far away from where Mary was standing. Yet, nothing was ever found. So, I figured I would search closer to the house and slowly detect farther away if nothing turned up nearer to the front.

Well, I am very happy to share that my hunch proved to be correct! Just as I was completing only my third grid line, I hit a perfect target signal coming from an area that was no more than 20 feet away from the entrance to the yard and perhaps 20 feet on slight angle to the right of where Mary threw the ball. I knelt down on the ground with my handheld detector and immediately analyzed the mysterious metal object hidden below the many blades of grass. As I separated the plant life, instantly my eyes beheld the most amazing diamond engagement ring with its multiple diamond enhancer attached! The most elegant sentimental « symbol of love » in Mary’s life had finally been found! It was stunning in appearance! At that moment it was as if the diamonds were speaking to me with all of their sparkle and pop, saying, « It’s about time you brought us home where we belong! » I found this spectacular work of art within 10 minutes of starting the search! What a thrill it was and I was more excited to surprise Mary and John just a little while after discovering their treasured piece of jewelry!

The moment that I revealed the rings to the couple, their faces lit up as bright as the shining sun above! The two of them were beyond blown away, not only with just the reality that their highly valued jewelry had been returned to them, but also because I was able to find the missing rings so very quickly! They couldn’t believe it! What couldn’t be found in nearly 10-plus hours of searching between three people, I was able to successfully recover the rings within 10 minutes or less! I couldn’t have been happier for Mary and John!

Lost Tiffany and Company Gold True Love Ring in Taneytown, Maryland…Found in Toyota RAV4 by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Christine’s Most Elegant 18 Karat Gold Tiffany & Company True Love Ring Shining its Brilliance Once Again After Being Recovered from a 2010 Toyota RAV4 Sport by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph!

Christine of Taneytown, Maryland Showing Off Her Excitement and Gratitude for the Work of Brian Rudolph Who Successfully Recovered Her Tiffany and Company Treasure Given to Her by Her Special Boyfriend Cal!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I was delighted to receive a call from a young lady named Christine who lived in Taneytown, Maryland. She went on to share how she lost her beautiful Tiffany and Company 18 karat yellow gold True Love Ring which was a gift from her boyfriend Cal. This ring meant everything to her and she was desperate to get it back. Christine shared with me that after she finished shopping with her mother, she returned to her vehicle which she was borrowing from her brother at the time. While sitting in the driver’s seat of the 2010 Toyota RAV4 Sport, she took off the ring and placed it somewhere near or on the center console located between the driver seat and her mom’s passenger seat. She didn’t remember exactly where she placed it, but after she applied lotion to her hands, she went looking for the ring so that she could put it back on her finger. Yet mysteriously it was nowhere to be found. She and her mom looked everywhere in the vehicle and no matter how diligent the two of them searched, the ring didn’t turn up anywhere. It made absolutely no sense to Christine for this extremely sentimental keepsake to just simply disappear into thin air. Both she and her mother got out of the RAV4 and looked all over the parking lot asphalt just to make sure that the ring didn’t fall out of the vehicle. They were thinking that perhaps the jewel made its way out of the RAV4 when the two of them initially opened their doors to lean into the vehicle to search under the seats. Even after a long time of searching, all of their efforts led to no avail.

The two drove the Toyota back to their house and waited for Christine’s dad to give it a shot at trying to recover the love gift that was presented to Christine by her boyfriend who was currently serving in the military at the time. Even after all of the time and energy that Christine’s father invested in trying to find the ring, he too had to call it quits when nothing turned up. I believe my client’s brother also gave a swing at it and he as well struck out at locating the Tiffany band.

It was at this time that the young lady went online to search for an answer to her most frustrating problem. Christine wondered if there were specialists who are experienced at extracting jewelry from automobiles. Surprisingly, as she was doing her search on the internet, the elite international directory of metal detecting specialists popped up on the her screen and my contact information was provided by the directory for Christine to connect with me.

Immediately, the desperate one contacted me and I interviewed her to find out everything I needed to know about this particular mystery of the disappearing ring. Once we covered all of the details regarding this search, we set up a time for for me to travel up to Christine’s hometown later that evening. She was extremely grateful that I was able to squeeze her search in knowing that I would be arriving quite late that evening.

I looked forward to traveling to the small town of Taneytown, Maryland which is located very close to the Pennsylvania border. Even George Washington traveled through this quaint old historical city and this is what he happened to write about the city, « Tan-nee town is but a small place with only the Street through wch.(sic) the road passes, built on. The buildings are principally of wood. »

I had traveled up this way a year and a half earlier for another ring search that I did for a young man who lost his wedding band in a pond. Now, I had yet another opportunity to help this young lady preserve this extremely important keepsake in her life. I arrived at Christine’s house sometime around 8pm. And even though it was on the late side, I couldn’t wait to get started with this in-vehicle investigation! After meeting my client and her father, they took me out to the garage where the 2004 Toyota RAV4 Sport awaited my presence along with a heater that they set up to keep the garage as warm as possible while I conducted the search. I asked Christine if she would sit in the driver’s seat and reenact what took place several days earlier when she lost her beloved ring. Then, her father Dave shared with me all of the places that he checked and all of the complications that he experienced in regards to not being able to see into many of the crevices and corners that were under and on the sides of each of the front seats. Once I gathered all of the information necessary to start the in-vehicle search, father and daughter returned inside the house while I prepared my equipment to begin unraveling this brand-new ring mystery.

With my high lumens headlamp on and setting up my endoscope (which is a long cable with a video camera at the end of it) I began probing every crevice, corner and crack around the two front seats hoping that perhaps the ring was hiding in a more accessible location than anticipated. I looked everywhere with my equipment and that exclusive and elegant Tiffany and Company ring was nowhere in sight. I made sure that I went slowly and methodically so as to not miss a single square inch of the areas where I was investigating. When nothing turned up under and around the sides of the two front bucket seats, it was time to take my search to the next location inside the Toyota RAV4.

My next destination in probing the vehicle was to take my search to the center console area (the section between the two front seats). I looked in a variety of places in this particular region of the SUV. First, I searched all of the obvious places that were on the surface of the plastic decor. This included: any organizer trays, under and around the emergency brake lever, inside the armrest storage compartment, and any other miscellaneous spots where a piece of jewelry could have burrowed its way down into a slot or tiny compartment. All of those areas that I examined turned out to be completely clear of Christine’s “symbol of love”. Once again, I was so hoping that I might find the keepsake hidden in one of those places, but unfortunately that was not to be the case.

After searching the sections of the vehicle where the ring most likely had ended up and yet still came up with nothing, I had to reasonably deduct the current facts that were on the table. I had to conclude that the ring must have slipped into a space or crevice where the odds of it landing in such a place was highly unlikely. I concluded this because there were no other obvious spots for me to analyze and probe.

At that point in the search, I knew that this was not going to be as easy as one would hope for. I began looking around at every possible place where the Tiffany & Co. band might have slipped into. There was only one place left that could have swallowed up the precious piece of metal. That location happened to be below the emergency brake which was situated towards the middle of the center console. There was a very thin gap that the ring could have slipped down into even though the chances of it perfectly making its way into that slot was quite slim. It was my only possible hunch where the piece of jewelry had ended up. Furthermore, Christine had remembered that she placed the ring off to the side in the center console, so somehow the ring would have had to jump up a bit and then make its way down into that very narrow slot below the parking brake. Though it seemed quite unlikely that the ring slipped into that very tight space, it was the only place left that I could still check out and so that was my next targeted area for the evening.

I wasted no time to take my endoscope and begin probing below the center console’s emergency brake lever. Once I pulled back on it to give me some room to place my cable down inside the vehicle’s internal workings, I had much more room to manipulate the probe with my fingers. I have to admit that this was a very tedious process. As I have found it to be in many in vehicle searches that I have done before, one must not expect that they are going to instantly see the object that they are hunting for. Rather, one must keep moving the endoscope around to observe every nook and cranny to see if the item ended up in that particular spot. Most of the time there are multiple hiding places within the larger spaces to tuck away into. In this particular case, I found that same experience to be true.

As I placed the endoscope down into the console’s abyss, I observed all kinds of hardware bolted to the internal pieces of the vehicle. Slowly and methodically I searched for anything that looked like it didn’t belong – something small and that also resembled yellow gold in color. I probably probed inside that space for nearly 45 minutes and still I could find nothing of interest.

During the time that I searched inside the Toyota’s emergency brake location, I did come across a couple of parts that looked like a ring, but they were silver in color – not yellow gold. Sometimes the light of the scope can make something appear to be silver when it is a piece of brass. Yet, in this case I kept coming up empty handed.

At some point, I decided to guide the probe cable (which was still positioned inside the slot of the parking brake and pushed down into the console) farther back towards the rear of the vehicle. I wondered if maybe the Tiffany ring moved its way back towards the arm rest compartment. Well, after another 15 minutes or so went by, I caught something of interest on my monitor screen! I couldn’t really make out what it was specifically, but whatever it happened to be it was gold in appearance and it had unusual design to it. I genuinely thought the object was some kind of safety washer that was wide and had gaps between its metal make-up. I was not about to leave this particular target and so I began to take video and photos with my endoscope just so that I could analyze the object more carefully if I needed to come back to that exact location the next day to resume the search. No matter what angle I tried to adjust the camera, I could not clearly identify the target as truly being the very special keepsake that Christine yearned so much to recover.

Finally, the family requested that I wrap things up for the night. I was so hoping that I could solve the mystery once and for all that evening but I would have to wait until morning before I would have another shot at it. In the meantime, I grabbed a bite to eat from a local Wawa road stop and studied the images that I took with my endoscope. As I compared the photos and video taken of the unidentified object with commercial images of the actual ring that my client provided to me from the Tiffany & Company website, I got extremely excited! There in my car, I studied all of the characteristics that appeared to be identical between the pictures that I was looking at. I began to see more clearly the distinct features of Christine’s ring  which I could also match up with the curious target that I locked in on with my probe! The most apparent characteristic happened to be the gold ring’s « T » letters (for Tiffany and True (as in « True Love ») that were pronounced all the way around the band. It was like something magical was happening the way my eyes started to see the ring’s unique pattern recorded on the endoscope media files! I even believed I saw part of the Tiffany and Co. stamp along the rim of the circular object! It was at that moment of revelation that I was confident that I indeed discovered Christine’s lost treasure! I sent the images to two great ring finders: legendary ring finder and CEO of THE RING FINDERS, Chris Turner, and an incredible ring finder and member of the same directory, Jeff Morgan. Both of them unanimously agreed that I had truly found my client’s ring by looking at the pictures themselves! Jeff and I even stayed up late that night talking on the phone and hunting online for the blueprints for Christine’s brother’s exact vehicle model. We figured it would be helpful to analyze just in case I would have to unbolt the center console if I was not able to retrieve the ring with my other tools! I was then well prepared to handle any obstacle thrown my way! I couldn’t wait to share the news with my client the next day!

That evening I slept overnight in town close by to where the search vehicle was located. Then, the next morning, bright and early, I returned back to my client’s place to recover the ring. I was so excited! Unfortunately, because of some changes to Christine’s plans she canceled my second search attempt. I had already arrived at her residence, so while she was on the phone with me, I walked up to my client’s door and unveiled the awesome news! I explained on the phone that upon studying my probe images I could confidently conclude that I had in fact found the young lady’s special keepsake! She was ecstatic! The door immediately opened and I showed my client some of my media files that convinced me that I had successfully located the jewel! She too was swayed to believe that I had indeed identified her cherished ring! Christine called her dad at work to make sure that all was good for me to resume the search and within minutes I was back in the Toyota RAV4 with all of my equipment attempting to pull the ring from within the vehicle’s hidden chamber!

It took me a bit of time to maneuver the endoscope back to the location where I had first encountered that marvelous view of the unidentified golden object. But eventually I reached the narrow hiding place deep down below and approximately 12 inches back towards the rear of the center console! I spotted the object of interest once again! There on my monitor I was able to convincingly show my client that I truly found her Tiffany True Love Ring! More detail on the piece of 18 karat gold revealed itself as I viewed it from additional angles! Christine was beyond excited! She couldn’t believe it!

Now that I had clearly identified the object as being my client’s missing ring that disappeared days earlier without a trace, the mission was now all about trying to retrieve the little one from within the inner workings of the RAV4. I placed a hook on the end of my probe and sent it far back into the console once again to see if I could grab the ring with the connector. I am proud to share that within about 30 minutes or so, I was able to successfully recover Christine’s beautiful 18 karat yellow gold Tiffany and Company True Love Ring from the vehicle! The elated young lady was right there beside me to capture the amazing moment on video when the brilliant yellow gold prize showed its marvelous perfections to the world once again! I was beyond excited for Christine and Cal!

It really was an amazing experience to be a part of this incredible recovery story: Driving far up north in the evening, searching the vehicle all that time in the garage, identifying a possible positive target in the center console, studying my media files saved on the endoscope, reviewing my data with other professional ring finders, identifying the target as the actual ring that was sought after, staying in the local area overnight, returning the next day to attempt a recovery and then finally capturing and returning the precious piece of classic metal from the vehicle to its rightful owner! Wow! All of it was an absolute thrill for me!

Christine and I gave thanks to the Lord for all of God’s help in guiding me to her sentimental keepsake! She immediately called her father up on her smartphone and shared the exciting news! Dave was beyond happy with the final results of my search!

In the days that followed this successful recovery of the Tiffany and Company True Love Ring, my client continued to express her gratitude and thanks for what I was able to do for her in preserving such a special part of her life! I told Christine that I was more than honored to be the one to help keep this precious « symbol of love » a part of her ongoing love story between she and the love of her life…Cal!

Lost Gold Grill With Diamonds…Found by Member of The Ring Finders in Lanham, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Barry’s Amazing 18 Karat Gold Grill With Many Diamonds, Recovered and Returned to His Mouth by Item Recovery Specialist Brian Rudolph!

Behind the Mask, Barry Smiles From Ear to Ear Knowing His Mouth’s Sentimental Keepsake Was Back in His Possession After Detectorist Brian Rudolph Saves the Day – Saves the Grill!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a gentleman who desperately needed my help in recovering something very unique and extremely different from my usual ring finding service call. Metal detecting specialists like myself recover all kinds of lost items besides wedding bands and engagement rings. We also find: other jewelry, keys, hearing aids, smartphones, family heirlooms and anything else that has metal on it. However, there’s always a first for everything and this particular search would definitely stand out to be one of those unique recovery stories to share!

Barry was traveling home on a public bus in Lanham, Maryland. Once he reached his stop, he got off the transit vehicle and began walking along the highway. A minute or two into his commute home, he opened up his mouth and hocked a huge loogie into the air and onto the road. Unfortunately, along with the sputum came flying out of his mouth none other than his 18 karat gold teeth grill made with numerous diamonds! It just launched out like a rocket! Barry looked everywhere for his very expensive hip hop style mouth wear, but all of his efforts during that late afternoon search led to no avail. He was really upset.

While looking online for a metal detector rental shop, Barry came across the elite international metal detecting specialist directory called THE RING FINDERS. Instead of renting a detector that the gentleman had no idea how to use, Barry decided to call an expert to help him recover his lost « oral treasure ».

As soon as I got the phone call from my potential client, it started off with a bit of humor. I thought Barry told me that he lost a ring when all along he was trying to say that he lost his « teeth ». It was a funny first encounter with the gentleman because during the first five minutes I was asking Barry questions which in turn I got the most curious of answers based on our misunderstanding. Here are just a few of the many inquiries and responses that took place which made our conversation quite entertaining!

I asked: How did you lose the ring?

Barry answered: I spit and it went flying.

I asked: What is the ring made of?

Barry answered: Gold and diamonds

I asked: How large is the ring?

Barry answered: About the size of one of my fingers.

There were many other inquiries as to what Barry’s situation entailed but this last one above happened to be the question that finally led me to believe that we were having some type of misunderstanding! There was no way that the man wore a ring the size of his finger and he again shared that the object went flying in the air the moment he spit out onto the highway! Too many facts didn’t add up to being a typical ring search!

Eventually I learned that what Barry had actually lost was his gold grill encrusted with diamonds! He went on to share that he had bought the special piece down in Miami Florida over twenty years prior. Not only was the grill an important part of his every day style, but also the gold and diamond covered teeth had cost Barry over $2500 just over two decades previous (client approved this financial disclosure). Now the oral type jewelry was worth a whole lot more money and that made it extremely important for my client to recover his lost property.

The moment that we both got on the same page with exactly the item that the gentleman was needing to find, we set up a time for me to meet Barry out near the spot where his teeth went flying out of his mouth. Within a couple of hours, traveling 52 miles through heavy rush hour traffic, I made it over to the place where we would meet.

Soon after Barry and I shook hands and talked over the game plan for how I would handle the search and recovery project, I gathered up my detecting gear and the two of us walked the sidewalk along the highway towards the search site. When we got there I couldn’t believe how much wreckage and crashed vehicle debris was scattered about on the side of the road and up on the sidewalk. There was a lot of small car parts, random pieces of metal and plenty of broken plastic tail light covers as well. To make matters worse for me, I had to contend with metal detecting around a guardrail that was positioned right in the search zone where Barry believed the grill flew out of his mouth!

All of the conditions that I was faced with out there by the side of the road made it nearly impossible for me to easily metal detect around the sidewalk and in the grass which was located underneath and all around the guardrail off to the side of the road. Even using my small 6 inch detecting coil at the end of my machine barely made a difference in trying to make sense between one piece of metal and another. Yet, I was determined to find Barry’s beloved mouthpiece and have it back over his canines as soon as possible!

By the time I started scanning all over the cemetery of metal that was scattered all around me, it was dark outside and I was using a high lumens headlamp to guide my positioning as I searched for the grill. Barry was near me and he used his phone to keep looking around hoping that one of us would discover the sought after target. After about 5 minutes or so of careful and methodical metal detecting along the edge of the sidewalk about 5 inches into the grass, lying very close to the guardrail, I am very proud to share that Barry witnessed the recovery of his most important material possession! The grill was completely visible and was not hiding under any of the mass blades of dead grass. It just took a detector to pick up on the massive piece of gold encrusted with many diamonds in each of the teeth and a very bright light to hone in on the object that was being targeted!

We did it! Barry’s priceless grill was successfully recovered and returned to his mouth in a matter of minutes after starting the search (I encouraged him to sanitize the piece initially before reentry)! My client was so afraid that his property had ended up in the roadway or in some other place off of the highway where the piece of jewelry would never be seen again! However, as it turned out, the elated man was reunited once more with his golden keepsake of oral armor! I could not have been happier for the guy! After all of the time that Barry had been looking for the grill earlier that afternoon into the evening hours, my client could not believe how quickly I was able to help the man get his gold teeth back where they belonged! The two of us celebrated right there on the sidewalk, high-fiving one another and pump fisting each other’s hands! It really was a very special time indeed to share that victorious moment with Barry!

What started as a bizarre mishap when my client shot out that single wad of phlegm onto the highway, in the end, a fantastic finish was made possible all because Barry found THE RING FINDERS website and reached out to me for immediate help! When the two of us said our goodbyes, Barry’s gold and diamond-filled smile spoke nothing but happiness and much relief knowing that my client’s nightmare was finally over!

Lost Tantalum Wedding Band in Snow…Found on Valentine’s Day While Metal Detecting in Baltimore, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Josh’s Extremely Special Tantalum Wedding Band Recovered from the Snow on Valentine’s Day by Detectorist Brian Rudolph After Almost a Week Gone Missing!

Jenna and Josh Celebrating Their First Valentine’s Day Married With Josh’s Tantalum Wedding Band Back on His Finger, Found by Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Jenna who was desperately needing help with the recovery of her husband’s lost wedding band that was made out of a metal alloy called tantalum. More people are purchasing rings made out of this unique metal and I was excited that this would be my first search for this particular type of ring that meant so much to my clients.

The young lady went on to share that four days prior, she and her husband had just gotten home from picking up their car from the dealership. As soon as they got out of their cars, a fun snowball fight ensued. Both of them took their positions near the sidewalk (close to the parking lot curb) and on their townhouse property. There was a bit of movement around the snowy area while they were playing in the fun « white stuff », gathering up their arsenal and throwing the hard packed ice bullets in every direction.

After the couple called a truce and headed inside, sometime later on Jenna’s husband (Josh) realized that his handsome tantalum wedding ring was no longer on his finger. They had been married for less than a year and this ring meant the world to the young man. Once the couple looked around the house for the priceless piece of jewelry the two of them returned back outside that evening to search in the car, all over the snow covered sidewalk, front lawn and side area of their end unit. Sadly, all of their searching led to no avail. There was no ring to be found.

At some point while the emotionally depleted husband and wife sat inside to think about what to do next, they finally came up with an idea to search the internet for some type of solution. They typed in Google: « how to find a lost tantalum ring ». An article popped up that had been written by a member of THE RING FINDERS – the elite international directory of metal detecting specialists who find rings for people every day! The couple found their best solution to their problem! Immediately I got the call from Jenna asking for my assistance. Within a short while of going over all of the details of the ring’s disappearance, I scheduled a trip up to Baltimore, Maryland the very next day.

It was Valentine’s Day morning when I arrived at the couple’s house. A perfect wintry « love holiday » to recover a lost « symbol of love » for Josh and Jenna! I was told by the couple that this was their first Valentine’s day together as a married couple and it meant everything to them to get the ring back on Josh’s finger to celebrate their relationship on that particular holiday.

Immediately upon greeting the couple, the newlyweds showed me where they were standing and moving about when they had their outdoor fun several days earlier. The two took me over to the neighbor’s fence that was adjacent to their townhouse where they played with the neighbor’s dogs on that same snowy afternoon. They thought that maybe the ring slipped off of Josh’s finger while he was petting the animals. The last spot that they oriented me towards was a location near the parking lot where there was just a small patch of grass between the curb and the sidewalk. Other than that place, there were really no other places that Josh had been around.

Just before going to my car to get all of my gear out to begin the search, I asked the couple if they would agree with me in a word of prayer asking God for His wisdom in helping me successfully recover this very special « circle of love » for Josh. The two were very happy to pray with me and then shortly afterwards I began my « investigation »!

My first search location to metal detect happened to be all of the areas near the sidewalk (on and near the snow covered concrete). When I found nothing of importance there, I scanned over the entire lawn. I picked up a few curious signals but nothing worth notating in this article. I then detected over by a utility box where Josh said he had assembled some of his arsenal and also where he took cover behind the unit. Unfortunately, this was a difficult spot to detect because there was too much electrical interference coming from the utility junction recepticle. In order to make certain that the special piece of tanalum was not close to the large section of metal, I had to push all of the snow away from the box and then detect all of the newly gathered mounds of « white ice ». Everything checked out clear of any jewelry. It was time to move on to the next area to search.

Josh had told me that he did walk along the side of the townhouse and threw a couple of snowballs from that location. So, I used my machine to scan all along that area and still there was no ring to be found. By this point I was about an hour into the project and I wasn’t about to give up. I still had a couple of more places to check out. The neighbor’s yard was one of them.

Knowing that all of my other search sections were turning up nothing, I was so hopeful that I would find the ring buried in the snow just on the other side of their fence. I was thinking that there were two possibilities as to how the band could have ended up on the adjacent property: One, when Josh threw a snowball, the ring flew off and traveled behind him into the neighbor’s yard. Or two, because Josh had been playing with the neighbor’s canines that day when his ring disappeared from his hand, there was a good chance that the jewel dropped to the snow right near the fence or maybe it landed much farther away from where he was standing when perhaps throwing a stick or something. I decided to grid search all of that backyard area just to make sure that I didn’t miss a single inch. When all was said and done, there was absolutely no sign of the sentimental keepsake that Josh and Jenna hoped to recover.

It was about this time in the search that Josh was getting nervous that perhaps the band was maybe lost forever. Where could it have ended up? That was the question he started to turn over in his mind repeatedly. He was thinking that perhaps he lost the ring in his vehicle or possibly in the dealership parking lot earlier that same day when they were picking up the vehicle that had been in for service. I encouraged my client to hang in there and let me check and recheck every likely place that the tantalum band could have fallen into the snow. As soon as Josh heard my words of added hope, he returned inside once more while I detected the final untouched spot – the line of bushes in front of the house.

This particular area that I was about to search was saved for last just in case I did not find the ring anywhere else. The reason for this was because this search spot was the most unlikely place where the tantalum keepsake could have ended up. Josh was firing snowballs almost on a 180° angle in relationship to where the bushes were located in front of the house. He was more to the side of the property and therefore it would have been nearly impossible for the ring to fly off of his left hand and travel on a 180 degree angle towards the bushes that were in front of the house. Even though I have experienced some crazy scenarios where the item was found in the most unlikely of places, I really didn’t think this particular area would show forth the precious metal. Yet, it was my very final place to detect before having to start all over again and recheck all of the places that I had already scanned over – so I had nothing to lose in searching for the ring in that region.

I brought my equipment over to the hedges and began detecting under and around each of the bushes one at a time. It was not an easy situation because there were multiple obstacles that made detecting extremely difficult. One such issue was regarding electrical interference coming from the home. Another problem that I had to overcome was detecting over and around some sort of lighting system that was buried in the ground. And finally, on top of the earth but below the snow I identified solar light towers that were placed in the dirt throughout that area near the front walkway. All of these parts and pieces created metal « masking » and great confusion for my detector. I had to carefully and methodically search that complicated section of the property with a small coil at the end of my detector shaft and try to interpret a tantalum signal from all of the rest of the non-ferrous metal that I was encountering. Curiously at first I was not able to find the missing ring. I moved over to the other side of the walkway and began to detecting some more bushes just to see if maybe the ring traveled even farther than where I thought was nearly impossible to begin with. Still nothing turned up.

The situation began to look very grim. I felt that I had scanned every square inch of property and it appeared that I was going to have to start all over again and see if maybe I missed the ring out there somewhere. I was thinking that perhaps the ring was still hiding over by the electrical box where I had been detecting much earlier. But before I chose to re-scan the property once more, I decided to metal detect a little bit more around the back of the bushes closest to the concrete steps leading to the front door of the house. I thought that maybe perhaps the excess metal and electrical interference got the best of me and that I should recheck that area under some of the bushes one more time. Well, I am excited to share that moments following the start of yet another attempt to detect the snow covered real estate, I picked up a very promising signal coming from under the snow and it was definitely isolated from any of the other metal close by to this particular metal object. It also appeared to be a smaller piece of metal rather than larger ones that I was picking up in various places around the bushes. I knelt down onto the snow and placed my pinpointer beneath the ice to « zero in » on exactly where this object was buried. Once I cleared some of the snow out of the way, there it was, Josh’s most beloved material possession – his lost handsome tantalum wedding band! I found it at last! That’s where it was all of that time, right there near the entrance to the house but in the flower bed where the bushes were located! Somehow the ring flew off Josh’s finger at almost a 180° angle and ended up under one of the bushes closest to the front steps! I could not have been happier for this couple, especially knowing that I was able to recover the lost « circle of love » on Valentine’s Day!

What a wonderful morning that was in surprising Josh and Jenna with my most awesome find out there in the snow! They truly couldn’t believe that I had found the ring, especially after all of the time that had passed by with no results! Also, they were shocked when I shared the location where I discovered their cherished piece of tantalum! The two could not have been more grateful!

Before I left Josh and Jenna’s Baltimore, Maryland residence, the three of us thanked the Lord for helping me with this search and to have been able to successfully recover and return this most precious sentimental keepsake to its rightful owner! This story could not have had a better ending and the ring could not have been found on a more significant « love holiday » than the one that we were all celebrating together that morning outside in the snow…yes that’s right…Valentine’s Day!

Lost Gold Wedding Band in Snow… Found by Ring Finder in Eldersburg, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Matt’s Brilliant 14 Karat White Gold Wedding Band that Ring Finder Brian Rudolph Found in the Most Unexpected Place!

Kelsey and Matt Excitedly Display their Irreplaceable Sentimental Keepsake that Had Been Missing for 9 Days!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

The Maryland area had a fairly significant snowstorm, and then a few days later another snowfall took place. This caused many people to lose their most precious sentimental possessions that were once placed upon their fingers. One such example took place in Eldersburg, Maryland. A young lady named Kelsey called me on the phone asking for my help to try to find her husband’s lost 14 karat white gold wedding band that went missing nine days earlier. She said that they weren’t sure where the band had disappeared to. The only thing that they did know was that Matt felt pretty confident that it was lost somewhere outside. He had taken his dog out to the backyard and he walked around a small deck area in the back as well, during the snowstorm. He also remembered walking from the front of the house to his car and back during the course of the accumulation of ice nine days earlier when the first snowstorm hit the Baltimore, Maryland area. Kelsey went on to share that Matt used a metal detector and searched everywhere in the parking lot, on the street, on the sidewalk, all of the lawn areas, and even in their house, but all of their efforts led to no avail. In total, the couple had spent over 20 hours looking for this very important keepsake that was placed upon Matt’s finger on their special day of holy matrimony! The whole crisis was truly upsetting and very disappointing to both Matt and Kelsey.

At the point where the couple had completely exhausted their efforts to recover the lost ring, they took to the Internet in order to try to find an answer to their most frustrating and devastating adversity. That’s when they found the elite international metal detecting specialist directory called THE RING FINDERS. As a member, I was so honored to be contacted by Kelsey in order for me to try to help the couple recover Matt’s lost ring (preserving a very special piece of marital history between he and Kelsey). Once I got all of the details regarding the disappearance of the band, we worked out a time for me to visit their Eldersburg, Maryland house which was about 35 miles away from downtown Baltimore, Maryland.

The next day I traveled to Matt and Kelsey’s place and I was beyond excited to help them out in trying to recover the lost wedding band. Matt took me around and showed all of the places that he walked about in the snow during the day that the ring vanished from the young man’s finger. He took me first to the backyard, then to the side and front lawn, and then finally over to where his car was parked at the time of the snowstorm. Next, I asked Matt to show me the exact path that he walked from the vehicle to the front entrance of his home. Before long, I had all of the details that I needed to begin the search. Matt returned inside to do some work from home while I retrieved my metal detector, gridline tapes, headphones and pinpointer.

The first leg of my search took place in the backyard. It was not a large property so I was able to scan over all of the grass within about 35 minutes or so. I did hit a few good targets, but none of the objects turned out to be Matt’s sentimental piece of gold. When I was pretty confident that the band was not dropped on the back lawn, I continued my metal detecting along the side of house which led to the townhouse’s front steps (the front door entrance was located on the side of the end unit – not in the front area where the front lawn was). I made sure that I was very consistent with my detector swings along with keeping straight lines back and forth while covering all of the grass where the front walkway was located. Unfortunately, still nothing turned up.

The third leg of my “investigation” took me to the front lawn of Matt and Kelsey’s property. Since the lawn stretched pretty far from left to right, I laid down six long grid tapes that were separated by five feet between each one of them and began scanning the ground across the property. I would get to the end of one grid lane and then return back the other in the opposite direction. I was so hoping that I would discover the white gold piece of jewelry somewhere on those first many lanes, but still nothing worth sharing about turned up.

Before I completed that large section on the grass, I decided to take a timeout and bring my equipment over to the strip of grass located between the sidewalk and the parking lot curb. I wanted to examine the spots where Matt had parked and walked in the direction of his property before concluding my exploration on the other part of the grass. One of the cars that was situated next to where Matt had parked on the day of the ring’s disappearance had left its space, so I wanted to capitalize on metal detecting that asphalt area before they returned home. A few mounds of snow still remained on the parking lot due to all of the precipitation that our area was hit with over the previous nine days. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to strike out once again with not finding the wedding band in that particular region. I scanned the parking lot as well as the curb area along with detecting the grass that was sandwiched between the parking lot concrete and the sidewalk.

Even though there was a whole line of cars that were parked right up to the edge of the curb, I chose to continue metal detecting the grassy area between the curb and the sidewalk all the way down the parking lot until I was right in front of Matt and Kelsey’s front lawn. All that remained left for me to metal detect was that one small section that I took a break from just before I had gone over to where Matt had originally been parked. It was at that point that I was really starting to doubt that I was going to be able to find the wedding band. My search was about to come to an end. Yet, I must admit that there have been plenty of times when the “Doubting Thomas thoughts” come into my mind and it is shortly thereafter that I end up successfully recovering what I thought was probably lost forever. Well, I am so happy to share that that was exactly what happened in this particular case! Just as I was completing my detecting of that tiny piece of real estate on the front lawn, I just randomly turned my head towards the parking lot and scanned with my eyes over towards the grassy area that was just beyond my client’s house between the curb and the sidewalk. It was a narrow section of grass that was connected to the other strip of common lawn that I had metal detected before. However, I didn’t scan past my client’s house because neither spouse had remembered walking that far away in the opposite direction of where their cars were located in the parking lot. Well, I was probably about a foot or two from the sidewalk on the couple’s property when I looked over to the grass and for a split second I could have sworn at the time that I had caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a circular piece of metal just lying on the damp grass. I did a double take and immediately walked over to investigate that mysterious silver-colored “halo”. I couldn’t believe my eyes at that very moment! Believe it or not, but I actually discovered the ring just sitting there in the middle of that 2.5 foot wide section of grass that was no more than a foot from the sidewalk! For a moment, I wondered if perhaps I had found someone else’s ring that was also lost during all of that snowfall. The reason I doubted that it was my client’s wedding band was because of how far away it was found from where the couple had parked their cars! But then, instantly the “lightbulb” flicked on in my head and I realized what had actually happened to Matt’s ring! The priceless jewel had fallen off of the young man’s finger approximately thirty feet away from where I had discovered it (towards where his vehicle was parked). Then, the snow blower came down the sidewalk and pushed the snow along with the ring about ten yards from its original spot. Eventually, the mound of white ended up being placed on top of the narrow strip of grass just past the couple’s home! Unbelievable!

Excitedly I picked up the ring and inspected it to see if it was in fact made out of 14 karat white gold. The verdict turned out to be…Yes! It did belong to Matt alright – the very ring that we had all suspected that it had been hiding somewhere else other than where it actually ended up! The band had been lying there for almost a week and a half and nobody spotted it all that time! Because of the second snow cover, the prolonged chance that it would have been eyeballed by somebody definitely helped in this particular case! I was so excited that I recovered this ring, especially in the way that I ended up finding it! It made the search even more thrilling, knowing that I was able to eyeball it after nearly completing every bit of real estate that I could have possibly detected! This particular location where I found the ring was not anywhere near the spot where Matt had walked from the car, so there was such a small chance the ring would have been recovered by me. It just so happened that my eyes grabbed a hold of it while I was just about to finish that small little piece of land on the couple’s front lawn! I could not wait to surprise Matt with this unbelievable news!

Surprising Matt was definitely the highlight of my day after finding his lost wedding band in the grass near the curb! He could not believe where I ended up finding it! My client continued thanking me and shaking my hand over and over again as he was so grateful to be able to reclaim what he thought was most likely lost forever! Just before I was about ready to take pictures of the ring and its owner, Kelsey pulled into the parking lot and she too was greatly surprised by the fantastic news! Because she was the one that found me online and first contacted me about the loss of the ring, the young lady was most satisfied that she went with her gut feeling and decided to try out my services! She too could not stop thanking me over and over again with much delight!

Once it was time for me to leave, all of us stopped to give thanks to the Lord for the seemingly miraculous recovery of Matt’s lost 14 karat white gold wedding band! It could have easily been spotted and picked up by just about anybody in the hours and days following the melting of the recent snowfall! Metal Detecting Lost Ring in Snow… Found by Ring Finder in Timonium, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Mike’s Extremely Handsome 14 Karat Gold Wedding Band Saved from Below the Snow by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph!

Mike of Timonium, Maryland Beyond Excited for the Successful Wedding Ring Search and Recovery Conducted by Member of THE RING FINDERS, Metal Detectorist Brian Rudolph!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young man named Mike who lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band during a Baltimore, Maryland snowstorm that took place the day before. He wasn’t sure where he lost his beloved keepsake, but he thought that there was a good chance that it went missing around the time that he was walking his dog. Mike’s theory was that because of the cold temperatures, his fingers shrunk and at some point the ring must have slipped off of his hand and buried itself in the snow somewhere near his apartment complex. After many attempts to find his missing keepsake, the gentleman looked online and found the finest metal detecting specialist directory called THE RING FINDERS. He was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was a detectorist he could contact right in his “neck of the woods”! That’s when I got the call for help!

I remember it to be a very cold wintry night when I arrived at Mike’s apartment complex in the Baltimore area. There was still approximately five inches of snow on the ground. However, that wonderful white stuff was not going to deter me from finding my client’s lost ring if it was still out there. The two of us met out in the parking lot and Mike immediately took me from the front entrance of his apartment all the way down the sidewalk to where it veered off to the right between two buildings where the gentleman was walking his dog the day before. He then guided me into a clearing where there were a couple of large sized pine trees and a bunch of hills to the left and right of us. One of the declines went down into the woods and then there was another area where the hill traveled up towards another section of real estate owned by the apartment community.

Within about five minutes or so, Mike showed me all of the places that he walked around with his canine friend, as well as where he threw some sticks down the hill towards the woods behind his complex. Once I got all of the intel that I needed to begin my search, my client returned to his apartment while I got out my wagon and loaded it up with all of the necessary metal detecting gear to get the “investigation” on its way.

The first thing that I did was lay down my grid tapes over the snow so that I had five lanes to scan over. If I didn’t find the wedding band in that particular section of the property, I would then move the tapes over and metal detect another 25 feet of territory. Since there were sections that required me to move about and scan where the gridlines were not situated, I made sure to detect for jewelry up on the hill and around some other out-of-the-way spots that were on the other side of the two pine trees.

When nothing showed up in those random places that I first checked out, I started swinging my detector coil down the first grid lane working my way towards the other end. Next, I started my way back towards the other and of the second grid Lane which took me towards one of the trees that was facing away from the apartment buildings. I continued this pattern on the next two or three lanes, making certain that I didn’t miss any possible targets that were below almost a half foot of snow. Every so often I stopped and knelt down into the winter wonderland ice and checked out a potential target or two, but each time it ended up being some piece of trash that was on the ground surface just below the snow.

After about 20 minutes of metal detecting, as the weather got much colder with a drastic chill in the air, I was making my way back towards one of the pine trees (about ten or fifteen feet from the edge of the apartment building) when I got a fantastic signal on my metal detector. Instantly, I knew that I had found Mike’s ring due to the type of target tone I heard and the way it was showing up on my machine’s screen. It told me that this was definitely in the range of what Mike’s 14 karat yellow gold would come up as. I had no doubt in my mind that I had found his ring and I got extremely excited as I knelt down to check out what was below the snow.

I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to anticipate that I had discovered Mike’s beloved sentimental treasure! He could have lost it anywhere around those places that he showed me earlier and this search could have ended up being extremely complicated and perhaps even unsuccessful. While he was tossing the sticks towards the woods, the ring could have easily slipped off his finger at that point and flew down the back hill towards the woods. And so, to think that this was most likely the wedding band that I was searching for, it truly encouraged me so very much as I would not have to wonder anymore if the search was going to be more complicated than I originally hoped for!

Immediately, I took out my handheld metal detector called a pinpointer and I waived it around the area that my other metal detector was tuning into the mysterious metallic object. Then, with my winter gloves on, I removed a few inches of snow that was covering my target, and to my great excitement and relief, my eyes beheld a glimpse of part of the halo of the very handsome 14 karat yellow gold wedding band that Mike so desperately wanted back on his finger! I found it! I truly found my client’s missing ring buried in the snow about 4 inches below the surface! There in the very cold wintry evening hours, my face lit up with the most gigantic smile knowing that my client was going to be thrilled and grateful for what I was able to accomplish that night on the side of Mike’s apartment complex!

Once I brushed off the remaining ice from the precious piece of sentimental metal, I called the owner and asked if he could return outside for a moment. That is when I gave my client one of the best surprises of his life! Within minutes of Mike meeting me around the side of the property where I discovered the band, I instantly added another smile out there in the freezing cold as I shared the fantastic news that I had found Mike’s beloved ring!

After the two of us hugged and celebrated the return of the irreplaceable keepsake, we happily set our goodbyes as the wind began to pick up and we both could feel ourselves getting colder and colder by the minute. What a wonderful experience I had that snowy night in helping this gentleman recover such an important piece of property in his life. Mike said that he was so very pleased that he chose to entrust me with this particular search, and he would let everybody know that the finest metal detectorist directory in the world was waiting for each and every person out there who needed assistance in finding their own lost item(s) just like what Mike experienced himself!

Lost and Found in Snow…Gold Cartier Wedding Band in Baltimore, Maryland Recovered by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Andy’s Amazing 14 Karat White Gold Cartier Wedding Band Found in the Snow by THE RING FINDER’S Member Brian Rudolph!

Holding His Very Handsome Cartier Wedding Band With Elation and Delight, Andy of Baltimore, Maryland Couldn’t Believe His Ring Was Found by Detectorist Rudolph!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a gentleman named Andy who requested my help in recovering his lost 14 karat white gold Cartier wedding band. Andy was walking his dog along an industrial street sidewalk that was covered with snow and ice. As he was taking his glove off to carefully “bag up” his canine’s “Number Two”, the gentleman saw his wedding ring fly off of his finger. He figured it had to be somewhere around that area, but after searching for some time for the cherished keepsake in the snow and dirt, all of Andy’s efforts led to no avail.

Sadly, the poor fellow had to return to his home up the street to share the bad news with his wife Cindy that his most special symbol of love from their wedding day was seemingly lost and gone forever. With the encouragement of his compassionate spouse, the two of them returned to that particular sidewalk. Later that evening, once again, both of their diligent efforts did not show forth the results that they were hoping for.

It wasn’t until Cindy decided to take this search effort to the next level that hope would finally make its way through the darkness. She went online and searched for answers to their problem and that’s when she came across the elite international directory of metal detecting specialists called THE RING FINDERS. Then, Cindy checked on the site to see who the closest detectorist was to them in the Baltimore, Maryland area and my name popped up. Excitedly, the very resourceful wife shared her findings with Andy and within minutes he sent me a text requesting a call from me. I could not have been more happy to serve the couple’s need and within a very short time of gathering up all of the details regarding the loss of the ring, we scheduled a time for me to come out the following day.

I will never forget that particular Monday that I drove out to East Baltimore to assist Andy in helping him recover his lost Cartier wedding band.  Because there were two other searches that took place prior to me driving north of the Washington DC area, it wasn’t until early afternoon that I was able to make my way to Andy’s neighborhood. My morning started in Alexandria, Virginia with a successful recovery of a lost ring in the snow. Then, I drove to Washington DC for my second ring search outside in the wintry environment, as well (I wasn’t so fortunate to find the missing gold and diamond Aggie A&M class ring in DC until after leaving Andy’s search to return to DC for Round Two).

I was really hoping that Andy’s ring was still out there somewhere because though there was still snow and ice on the sidewalk where he lost his ring, there were plenty of people that would be walking by throughout the day and it was quite possible that someone could eyeball Andy’s precious “circle of love”. If some melting would occur as time went by, my client recognized the potential of this unfortunate outcome, but he was also very optimistic that if he had a chance of recovering this extremely expensive and very sentimental possession, I appeared to be the right guy for the job!

Once I arrived in Andy’s neighborhood, my client led me down a few side-streets, which then took me to the bottom of the hill where railroad tracks and some other industrial buildings could be seen. I parked my car along the street just around the corner from where I would be metal detecting and Andy and I walked together to the search site.

The entire orientation time took no more than a couple of minutes as my client showed me the place on the sidewalk where he believed he lost the ring. There was a tall chain link fence that was to the right of the sidewalk and the asphalt sidewalk was still covered with snow and ice. I explained to Andy that our biggest challenge could end up being the interference coming from the fence. However, I also shared with him that I use certain methods to get around the enormous metallic “masking” that takes place when metal detecting around metal fences like that one. Because Andy wasn’t completely sure of the exact spot where he was picking up his dog’s mess, I told him that I would cover a large section of that sidewalk just to be certain that we didn’t miss any bit of real estate where the band could be hiding. If it still didn’t turn up, I would then go to the management company that owned the fence and the real estate within its perimeter in order to get access to metal detect the other side of the chain-link fence. In all honesty, I was hoping it would not come down to that. After my client showed me everything that I needed to see, I returned back to my vehicle to pull out the exact equipment necessary to conduct this type of search.

Once back at the sidewalk, I chose to use one of my detectors that has a small 6 inch coil at the bottom of it in order to scan areas where there is a high content of metal that could potentially interrupt my detecting. If the ring was still on the sidewalk, there was no way of knowing (with the snow and ice covering it) whether or not it came to rest near or literally just below the fence line. With using a smaller disc to move about in that search zone, it allows for the detectorist to create separation between the dominant metal (which was the fence) and the smaller piece of metal (Andy’s ring) that I was looking for.

Within the next few minutes following my initial set up of my machine, I did pick up a couple of targets that had some potential of being the handsome wedding band that I was searching for. Unfortunately, they turned out to be just false alarms. Then, just moments later, as I continued to swing the 6 inch coil just above the snow-covered sidewalk in a particular area that I had not analyzed at that point, I hit the perfect target signal which registered the exact numbers that I was predicting would appear if I found Andy’s ring. My client stood just a few feet away as he watched me kneel down onto the cold and wet surface to investigate this very promising target. I pulled out my handheld detector called a pinpointer and began moving it around the place where my detector picked up the signal. The distance between the object that I was checking out and the edge of the fence was approximately two and a half feet away from one another. Had I been much closer to the chain-link monster using a regular sized coil, it would have been detrimental to my search due to the overwhelming presence of metal that the 11 inch disc would have to compete with.

It took only a couple of seconds or two for my handheld machine to lock in on the exact spot where this piece of metal was hiding under the snow. Carefully, I used my fingers to move some of the excess ice out of the way to reveal the true identity of this metallic object. To my greatest surprise and delight, it turned out to be Andy’s most handsome 14 karat white gold Cartier wedding band! The interlocking artistry for this extremely heavy ring was most impressive! Because my client was just a few feet away observing this most magnificent recovery operation, I didn’t even attempt to surprise him! Rather, I excitedly picked up the hunk of 14 karat white gold and jubilantly announced the successful recovery of Andy’s lost wedding band! I immediately brought it over to him and the look on his “masked” face truly defined complete shock and awe! He couldn’t believe how fast I recovered the ring and I was just as happy that I was able to find it as quickly as I did! It was such a fantastic moment that the two of us got to have, celebrating the return of this most sentimental keepsake in Andy’s life! What a tremendous thrill! The whole experience was just as fun for me as it was for my very warmhearted client!

After Andy and I took some pictures together commemorating that awesome find in the snow, the two of us reflected on how fortunate Andy was to have that ring end up where it did. Had it been just a bit closer to the fence, even the smaller coil would have had a difficult time separating between the large amount of metal coming from the fence and from the very special piece of white gold that my client wanted back so badly.

As we said our goodbyes, Andy could not stop expressing his gratitude and his many sighs of relief knowing that this irreplaceable treasure was back in his possession once again! My client and I enjoyed our time together so much that we agreed that once the pandemic subsided, we would try to get together again. However, next time it would be a celebration of our new friendship that was uniquely birthed from Andy’s initial cry for help! What a special time that was on that winter day near the railroad tracks in East Baltimore, Maryland!

How to Metal Detect a Lost Titanium Wedding Ring in the Snow…Found in Alexandria, Virginia

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Doug’s Cherished Titanium Wedding Band (Made by David Yurman Compay) Recovered in the Snow by Metal Detectorist and Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph!

Alexandria, Virginia Resident, Doug, Proudly Holding His Sentimental Titanium Keepsake of Love Following a Successful Metal Detecting Search by Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young man named Doug in Alexandria, Virginia who lost his titanium wedding band made by the David Yurman company. He was playing out in the snow with his children and their pet dog, and by the time he returned back into the house from all of their fun, Doug noticed that his most special sentimental keepsake was no longer on his finger. Because he remembered that the ring was loose on his finger outside earlier that same day, the distressed fellow was pretty confident that the band had been lost out in the snow while playing.

Not taking matters into his own hands but rather trusting the competence of a professional metal detectorist, Doug found my metal detecting services on the elite international metal detecting specialist directory website called THE RING FINDERS. He learned that I provide my metal detecting expertise in the Alexandria, Virginia area and immediately called me for help!

The next morning, I arrived at Doug’s lovely snow covered neighborhood to conduct the ring search. My new client showed me all of the areas where he had been walking around, playing with the dog and having a blast out in the snow with his well entertained children. Within a few minutes I had all of the information necessary to start the search.

I returned to my car, pulled out my waterproof detector, headphones and gridline tapes and began the process of looking for Doug’s most special “symbol of love”. Within 10 minutes of swinging my machine back and forth as I analyzed the snow for the wedding band, I picked up the perfect signal coming from beneath the ice. Because I am so experienced with recovering all types of rings made of every kind of metal, I was pretty confident that this very target was the lost piece of titanium that went missing the day before. With much excitement and anticipation, I knelt down on the snow and pulled out my handheld metal detector (which is called a pinpointer) and began to wave it over the area where my machine coil was picking up the object that I was after. Once I knew the exact spot where the target was buried, I used my fingers to dig my way down through the snow until my eyes locked in on exactly what I thought the mystery item happened to be! It was in fact Doug’s titanium wedding band! I found it! I couldn’t have been more happy for my client the moment that the silver-like colored halo appeared from within the snow!

The best part of my search and recovery time (other than of course finding the lost item that meant the world to Doug), was the moment that I surprised my client with his very handsome wedding band! Doug was so appreciative of my expertise and efforts in successfully returning his special wedding band back to his finger! He couldn’t believe how fast I was able to recover it for him! During the rest of the time that I was on my client’s property, Doug kept expressing his gratitude for what I was able to accomplish for him. He told me over and over again how glad he was for not wasting his money and time on a rental machine that he knew nothing about. But instead, he called in a professional who took care of his most important need…preserving his irreplaceable “symbol of love” that his wife Lisa placed on her husband’s finger several years earlier on their very special wedding day!
