Ring Lost Off Seawall In St. Pete Found And Returned

Newlywed Bill Gandy was out by his sea wall when his wedding ring slid right off his finger, bouncing off the wall and PLUNK right in the water. Bill tried wading in the murky water to try and find his ring and after a short while realized it was futile. After a google search for lost rings recovered in the St. Pete Beach area and metal detectors, Bill found team leader Stan Flack’s phone number and gave him a call. After gathering some information and an address, Stan passed the information on to team member and dock specialist, Joe Szemer. Joe spoke with Bill and made the short drive over to his house meeting up with Bill’s wife. After about 20 minutes of searching, Joe got a signal in one of Bill’s footsteps from his early attempt and sure enough there was Bill’s ring. A very happy Mrs. Gandy was pretty happy to have his ring back. He had only had it for a week and they feared it was certainly long gone. Great work Joe. Those canals and docks are very tricky.

As soon as he got it off his finger, it slipped out from his hands into the waist deep water! Charles’ wife searched the web for a metal detector and soon found and contacted SRARC.  Wayne responded to the call and arranged for some team members to search the next day. Mike Miller & Paul Hill spoke to Charles to get details as to where to begin the search.  Charles asked if a Google Earth photo would help? Absolutely! Brand New Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Madeira Beach, Florida

Stan and Linda Flack got a call from a friend whose son Kyle lost his wedding ring off their dock last Sunday. They had just attended his wedding in February so you can imagine how upset he was. One attempt was done but it was windy, cold and too deep. Second trip had a little less wind and lower tide, bingo. Return number 52 for Stan and it was a tough one. Had to take 2 cracks at this one which landed in what felt like chocolate pudding. In the end, it found its way into his scoop.
Way to stay at it Stan…Dock hunts are extremely tough!

Platinum Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Madeira Beach, Florida

Erik and his family were enjoying a game of volleyball on Madeira Beach when his wife felt her Platinum 3 ring set slip off her finger. They gathered to whole family around the area and started searching for the rings. One of the group happened to see something shining which was the post and diamond of the engagement ring. After this they started searching with small sifters and found a second ring. They had no luck finding the third. Erik asked someone to google metal detectors and one of the members found a detector APP and downloaded that and hunted with his phone. Then they searched for metal detectors that they could buy. In that search they came across theringfinders.com and called SRARC, talked to Mike Miller then called Tom Jones. Tom agreed to meet them at the beach after dinner. He and Joe Szemer headed out and met up with Erik and his son Jackson. Erik led them to the volleyball court and drew a square in the sand where the first two rings were found and hopefully the third would be found. Tom and Joe started hunting and within minutes the ring was in Tom’s scoop and returned to Erik. Jackson wanted to go back to the condo and trick his mother into thinking that the ring was not found. “Not Recommended”.
