Mike and a friend were setting up beach chairs when his class ring fell into the sand. He had placed the ring in his pocket for safety. Mike used the services from SRARC.com in the past, so he knew who to call. Gary, finding an item for Mike before, went to find the lost ring. After a short search, the ring was returned. A big thank you to Gary for a successful hunt, this time and last, and bringing joy to others.

Gabriel and his wife were down from Virgina visiting his close friend Caleb and his family. They all packed up and went to Lido Beach for a fun day in the sun and surf. Gabriel was out in about knee-deep water tossing a football back and forth with Caleb. As Gabriel reached to catch the ball it hit his hand and off shot his wedding ring. They all looked for the ring but had no luck. Caleb remembered that there was a group that would search for lost rings and soon found SRARC ring finders with a google search. Caleb called Joe Szemer and Joe called Mike Miller who scheduled a meet with them at the beach. After searching for about 20 minutes Mike came up with the ring and handed it to an overjoyed Gabriel. The whole group came down to the water and we all did a happy dance. SRARC is happy that Gabriel can now return to Virginia with a good memory of his visit to Florida.

Lost Family Heirloom Ring Recovered on Treasure Island, FL

Ring recovered July 8, 2024. I saw a post on a FB group for a family heirloom ring that was lost by a young lady at a dog beach on Treasure Island on July 6th. The ring was getting slippery on her finger and when she went to take it off and store it safely, she accidently dropped it into the water.

I attempted to searching the area where it was lost that morning, but the tide was high and current was strong. I just wasn’t able to make it out to where the ring was lost.

A couple of friends worked the area that evening at low tide, cleaning up all the junk (which also sounds like gold on a metal detector), but weren’t able to locate the missing ring. We were starting to worry that the ring may have been moved by the current, or worse, fell deeper into the channel.

I was on another recovery attempt on Treasure Island, but wasn’t having luck and running out of daylight, so I decided to try this recovery once more at low tide.

The small dog beach was mostly empty and the tide was low. I scanned the edge of the steep drop into the channel and after about 10 minutes hit a nice sounding signal. In the scoop was the lost ring!

I was able to meet up with Elaine at a nearby Starbucks who claimed the ring on behalf of the owner who had left for home (out of state) earlier in the day.

Brad was on Treasure Island Beach Florida with his wife enjoying the scenery. Due to a callus, he was fiddling with his wedding ring and it flew off. After searching the area and digging craters in the sand, they found SRARC.com online and made the call. Joe arrived and in short order found the missing ring. Another successful find. Glenn and his wife were enjoying a fantastic day at St. Pete Beach, on the Florida Gulf coast. He took his ring off, placed it on his lap and applied sunscreen. He stood up and the ring went into the white powdery sand. Finding SRARC.COM online, he called Joe. Beach traffic was at a standstill as usual on Saturday afternoon. Joe notified Glenn, who drove Joe’s car as he hunted for the ring. The ring was found and Joe returned to his car still stuck in traffic. Glenn and his wife were all smiles and very appreciative.

Jessica and family were up from Venice, Fl to visit with her sister Laura and family living on Anna Maria Island. Laura and her family will soon be leaving for an extended trip to France so on Sunday afternoon both family’s headed to down the block to the beach to enjoy some time on the sand and playing in the Gulf. Jessica took both her engagement and wedding ring off and stored them safely in her shorts pocket. At some point in the afternoon, Jessica and Laura decided to play teenage girls again and started doing cartwheels up and down the beach. As evening approached they all packed up and headed for home. As they walked off the Beach Jessica reached into her pocket to get her rings and terror struck her heart. Nothing was in her pocket. They all returned to the beach and searched but soon realized it was fruitless since they didn’t have any real idea when the rings had been lost. Jessica’s husband googled lost and found Anna Maria Island and the SRARC ring finders popped up. Jessica was soon in touch with Joe Szemer who contacted Mike Miller. Mike made arrangements to meet with Laura the next morning to do the hunt. Laura staked out the area where they had been and Mike went to work. After about 45 minutes Mike got a hit and took a scoop of sand and dumped it out of the scoop. Right away he saw a shiny white gold object reflected in the sun. He motioned Laura over and pointed. Laura excitedly kneeled down and recovered the engagement ring. She then looked up at Mike and said “ There is another ring”. Mike took a swing over the same sand pile and then pinpointed the spot for her. She reached into the sand and up came the wedding ring. She couldn’t believe we had found them and instantly called her sister with the great news. Jessica was already in route from Venice in hopes the rings would be found and began crying as she received the good news. Mike was invited in for coffee while we waited for Jessica to arrive. After she arrived and the rings had been returned we all sat around the table and had a great conversation about their whole families adventures in moving from France to the USA. I want to welcome them all to the USA and thank them for their kind treatment of me. Most of all I loved to see the BIG SMILES on their faces as we parted ways.

Mark and Amber were down from Pittsburg to visit family and friends, and to enjoy the beach from their seaside condo. Amber was mossing a defender in an intense game of football in waist-deep water, and soon after discovered that her beautiful wedding ring was no longer on her finger! The group snorkeled for hours trying to recover Amber’s precious ring. The couple started to lose hope and were already discussing a replacement ring when they returned to Pennsylvania, when a bypasser suggested they look up Ringfinders on the internet. They found the site and were directed to the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club. Mark and Amber contacted SRARC vice president Joe Szemer, who made arrangements for a hunt with metal detectors. Club members Bill Gallant, Ed Osmar, and Mike Shuler responded and started gridding the area. After about 45 minutes of searching, an emotional Amber was able to pick her ring out of the scoop and place it back on her finger! We’re glad Mark and Amber will be able to fully enjoy the rest of their visit!

Dubrey was playing football with his son in the backyard. He put the ring in his pocket. After the game, his ring was missing. He lost it somewhere in the grass. He contacted SRARC.COM and it was found by Ed and Tom. Another ring returned to it’s owner.

If you have lost your ring or any other precious item, “Don’t Wait – Call Now.” Paul and Sha were enjoying the sand and fresh air at Madeira Beach on the west coast of Florida. Before going on a walk, Sha put on sunscreen and placed her rings in Paul’s wallet. Unaware of the pending tragedy, her ring fell out of his wallet and into the sand, lost forever. Thanks to SRARC.COM and their excellent recovery team, the ring was found and now back on her finger. Another fantastic find for Gary, Joe, and Pat. Way to go team!
