Ring Recovery on Gulf Of Mexico Beach

Colin and Christina were down from Toronto with their 2 children finally getting to enjoying a nice sunny beach day after the recent cold snap.

Christina took off her rings to apply sun lotion to her kids and set them next to her on the beach towel. As some time passed she took the towel and shook off the sand and forgot she had left the rings on the towel. Panic ensued and after a frantic 30 minutes of looking, Colin googled metal detectors thinking he could rent one to look when SRARC’s web page came up. Colin called member Stan Flack who lives only minutes from where they were and Stan headed out as soon as possible.

Upon arrival, Stan found a teared eyed and distraught Christina. After a few details on what had happened, Stan started to work and within just a few minutes, both rings were recovered.

More water works from Christina a high five from Colin and hugs from the kids and all was right with Christina’s world again.

As always, it was our pleasure.

Charles and his family were over from Tampa enjoying a day at Ft. DeSoto Beach.  Once in the water, Charles decided to put his wedding ring in a zippered pocket for safe keeping. As soon as he got it off his finger, it slipped out from his hands into the waist deep water! Charles’ wife searched the web for a metal detector and soon found and contacted SRARC.  Wayne responded to the call and arranged for some team members to search the next day. Mike Miller & Paul Hill spoke to Charles to get details as to where to begin the search.  Charles asked if a Google Earth photo would help? Absolutely! With this information, Mike & Paul set out to divide and conquer! Each man took an end of the area and worked their way to the other.  Less than two passes later, Paul had the ring in his scoop! A call was made and Charles drove over to pick up his « precious » as he called it.  Charles thanked the team profusely and as he was leaving he claimed « I’ve got my MOJO back! » We are happy for your Charles! Wedding Ring Lost at Ceremony Found and returned on Redington Beach, Florida

April and Tony came to Florida from Michigan to have a Beach Wedding and were joined by their families on Redington Beach just before sundown for the ceremony. As the ring bearer was making his way to the alter one of the rings fell off the pillow that he was carrying. The ceremony continued without the ring and afterwards someone brought a rake and started searching for the ring. Meagan one of the wedding planners, looked up the Ringfinders knowing that they had helped another couple find a lost ring two years ago on Sunset Beach. She called Tom Jones and asked if anyone could get there before dark to search for the ring. Tom and Joe headed out immediately and called Stan Flack to see if he could help with the hunt.
Upon arrival they ask what metal the ring was made of and got several answers from the family. Some said Silver, White gold and the most common answer was platinum. They started hunting the path that the wedding party had walked but did not find the ring. After expanding the search farther back on the path Tom got a good gold signal and up came the 14 K White Gold ring. The Bride and Groom were busy with the Wedding Photographer getting pictures as the sun was setting but took time out to show how grateful they were that the ring was found.

Heirloom Pendant Lost, Found and Returned in Tampa, Florida

Chelsea spent the day in her backyard, first creating a small garden and then preparing the rest of the area for grass. She finally finished the prep work and seeded the area. She got out the hose and hand water everything and then as she was putting away the hose she noticed her necklace was broken. When she checked she found that the gold pendant with an image of Jesus on it that her grandfather had given to her for safe keeping was gone. Her grandfather had worn the pendant his whole life and when he recently was confined to the hospital he wanted her to keep it safe for him. When she discovered it was lost she was devastated. She got down on her hands and knee’s and cried as she searched for hours. When she did not find it, she decided she needed to rent a metal detector. When she googled “metal detector rental” SRARC came up and she called Mike Miller. Mike explained that we do not rent metal detectors but we would be happy to come out and search for the pendant. Mike call for a hunt the next day and Wayne Cree agreed to meet him at the site. Wayne and Mike searched for about 5 minutes and then Mike got a good hit close to where the new garden was. Sure enough it was the pendant. Chelsea was so relieved and happy she gave us a big hug and a giant smile. SRARC is so happy to have returned this special keepsake to Chelsea and we wish her grandfather a quick and complete recovery.
