Lost Emerald Pendant Necklace in Somis found!
Sunday night I got a call from a great lady named Kirsten who told me she had lost her Emerald and Diamond 18k gold necklace some time in the past few days. She had mentioned that this pendant was incredibly special to her as it was a remembrance of her late husband and son. The stones were each set with them in mind. I knew I had to find it. She had narrowed down the places she thought she had lost it to her horse corral and riding arena where she gives lessons. We set up an appointment for today (Thursday) and when I arrived I decided to focus first on the riding arena.
The problem with detectors and gold chains is well known as the detector struggles with the chain because it sees every link individually so I knew I had my work cut out for me. The riding arena ground was a mix of sand, dirt, and a felt like product about 4 to 6 inches thick. I made a plan to grid it from the middle out, to the left first and then back to the right as necessary. Thankfully there wasn’t too much metal in the ground and after about an hour of gridding I got a smoking loud tone, got on my hands and knees with my pinpointer and got a BINGO! There it was.
Ironically just the moment before I found it I had accidentally butt dialed Kirsten as she was running an errand and of course she called me right back and rather than have to tell her I had made a mistake I was able to say « yes » I got her necklace.
