Robert called me and asked about locating some property markers surrounding his house in Chuluota, Florida. I said I would be glad to help him so we set a date and I spent the next day thinking about what all I would need to find his 5 property stakes. I asked Robert for a copy of his property lay out and determined I would need some wooden stakes of my own, some bright colored flags, a hammer, a small shovel, a 200 foot tape measure and of coarse my trusty Garrett AT Max metal detector and my Garrett Pro pin pointer AT. Roberts neighbor had a nice white PVC fence along the side of his property and had correctly installed it leaving Robert’s corner marker fairly easy to locate. The two pins by the front sidewalk were also easy to find and then we went to the back left corner where there were two pins…buried under a pile of dead brush! With the tape measure and a little old fashion calculations we were able to uncover the last two pins and Mr Robert was very relieved and thankful to have them all found and well marked!

Class ring lost in the grass, Sherman, Illinois…found and returned to owner!

Have you ever been asked to hold something for safe keeping and end up loosing that item? It happens allot and this is what happened with Brian and his daughter. Upon arriving at a local outdoor fall festival event Brian’s daughter asked him to pocket her two rings while she enjoyed all the rides and food and at the end of the day, while they were walking to the car she asked her dad for her rings and he only pulled one ring out of his pocket! It was like her class ring had simply disappeared. They back tracked where they had spent time and were not able to find her ring. Brian’s daughter was quite upset and Brian left word with the owners about the lost ring. I spent some time searching for the ring during the following day and it was found in the large grassy parking lot right where Brian had parked his car the day before. Brian and his daughter were very, very happy to get the ring back!

Lost cell phones, cash, credit cards and BMW fob in the Wekiva River , Orlando, Florida…found and returned to owner.

As a good friend of mine always says, « Don’t waste time renting or borrowing a metal detector if you have never used one. Especially if your lost item is important to you. Call or contact an experienced metal detector expert. »

Deondre and his friend had rented some kayaks for the day and they both had secured their iphones in « waterproof » cases with lanyards and as they paddled down the river they came to a rough area and somehow they tipped their kayak and over they went. Only Deondre did not have his lanyard over his head and his brand new iphone slipped into the water and immediately disappeared. His friend called me and I met them an hour later and paddled out to the exact spot and searched for 3 hours but could not find Deondre’s lost cell phone…but I was able to recover an old water logged ziplock bag with all the contents still intact but completely soaked!

When I got home I cleaned everything up in fresh clean water and put a fan on and left it for 2 days. The money dried nicely and the fob was very dry as well and the credit cards would for sure be canceled and the iphones were…well one was toast and had swollen up and the other looked in very good condition still. So I plugged it in and it amazingly started charging but it was locked and the screen would come on but would not allow me to retrieve any information…even the Medical contacts. I tried looking on Google to see if I could find the person whose name was on the credit cards but there were just too many people with the same name so I resorted to calling the BMW dealer and asked if anyone had reported missing such a fob and when I mentioned the card holders name they said it matched someone in their system and I was given an email address and that info ended up being the husband of the young lady who lost the whole bag of goodies over a year ago!! They were shocked to hear that I wanted to return their lost iphones, credit cards, 114 dollars in cash and a BMW fob! It is always a real pleasure to return something and have a part in seeing the joy and surprise on peoples faces!
