Lost Mt. Saint Marys College Class Ring On Lewes Beach Delaware Found

On 07/19/18, I received a phone call from Michael requesting my help in locating his lost Mt. Saint Marys Class ring on Lewes Beach. Michael said that he had decided to go for a swim and that he had taken his ring off of his finger, placed it inside of his baseball cap which he laid on the sand. Michael said that when he was done swimming he picked up his baseball cap and started to put it on his head forgetting that his ring was inside. Michael said that the ring fell out of his cap into the sand and that he was unable to locate it. I responded to Lewes Beach and Michael showed me the area where he had lost his ring which he had marked. I began my search at the marker that nearest to the water and as soon as I placed my coil to the sand I received a very loud tone in my headset. I took out one scoop of sand and there was Michaels ring.

Lost White Gold/Diamond Ring On Rehoboth Beach Found

On 07/16/18, I received a phone call as well as a email from Donna regarding the loss of her white gold wedding ring with diamonds that had been lost on Rehoboth Beach. Donna said that she and her husband had been sitting on the beach from 2:00 pm until about 5:15 pm and that when they got up to leave she noticed that her wedding ring was not on her finger. Donna said that her husband could show me the area of the beach where they had been sitting. I then contacted Donnas husband by his cell phone and he agreed to meet me at the beach to show me the area where he and his wife believed that the ring had been lost. Donnas husband told me that he had raked the sand in the area where they felt that the ring had been lost and that he was unable to locate the ring. Upon arriving at Rehoboth Beach, I began a search of the raked area for the lost ring and as I got to the end of the search area I was able to locate and recover Donnas lost ring.

How To Find A Lost Ring

People become attached to things…like jewelry…and especially engagement and wedding rings. I got a tentative call from a sheriff’s deputy in a nearby county. (He ) His fiancee had lost her engagement ring. I’m thinking « OK, it happens. » He described what they were doing when she lost it — taking the groceries from the car to the house — and he knew exactly the path she had walked when taking in the groceries.

When he said he had searched the « she-lost-it-in-this-area » the entire day, but had no luck in finding the ring, it had me wondering why. I drove to their house and we mapped out the area to search. Thankfully, because it was a fairly well-defined area, I was able to find the ring quickly and return it. It turned out that the ring had worked its way down through the grass and was sitting on the soil, so it was maybe 3 inches down — definitely not visible.

Breaking out the detector allowed me to find it quickly, and it was in exactly the location he said. Glad to be able to help out!

10K Man’s Wedding Band Lost at Ocean Isle Beach NC, Found and Returned

This adventure started when Daniel called me saying he found me through The Ring Finders’ website and wanted to know if I could help. He stated he had lost his wedding band and was pretty sure he lost it on the beach. He and his brother-in-law had been throwing a football, he said he had also been sitting in the water with his hands in the sand, and at one point, he had ventured out into chest deep water. So, I’m thinking this is going to be a tough search, but I love a challenge and told him I’d be there in about 35 minutes. He gave me the address of the rental house, and I was on my way.

We met at the house and walked a block or so to the beach. On the way over, he explained that his family had set up in front of the 5th house from the beach access and in the dry sand. He also pointed out the area, in the wet sand, where he had been throwing the football. As luck would have it, there were numerous families set up in the dry sand exactly where I needed to search. I did a grid search in the areas I could with no luck. I then moved out into the wet sand, and in the water but was fighting the incoming tide. I had a great signal in the water but Mother Nature can be cruel sometimes, and the waves were pitching me around like a rag doll. After getting knocked off the signal 4 times, I decided to call it and come back later, closer to low tide. I told Daniel what my plans were and I’d be back around 10:45 p.m. I ended up getting back there close to 8:30 p.m. and started an east/west grid line from the 5th house back towards the beach access going from the dry sand to the water. After an hour plus I got a pretty good signal and dug it. It was pitch black, and even with my headlamp I couldn’t see anything in the sand I had spread out with my foot. I was spreading the sand with my hand when I hit the ring. BAM!!! I had his gold ring in my hand. I walked back to the house and surprised Daniel and Kelsey, who were both shocked the ring had been found. I was talking to Kelsey, and she told me that she knew the ring was gone forever.

Daniel told me that they had just celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary in June, so now their ring story can continue. Their smiles say it all!

Wedding ring recovered in rolling waves at Pere Marquette Park, Lake Michigan

After recovering a ring earlier that evening, I got a call from Jen M. about her husband, Mark M., loosing his wedding ring at Pere Marquette Park in Lake Michigan. The area where it was lost was a cove where people park their boats and swim. They were in about 4 to 5 feet of water when Mark’s ring came off. My Ring Finder partner, Dave Boyer, and I made arrangements to meet Jen at 8am in the morning, I was concerned that another Detector would find it before we got there.

The day was cool and dark and dreary it stormed but we were never weary on our 45 mile trip to the lake. We met Jen, she showed us the area and in the rain we started our search. The waves were rolling about a foot which made detecting a little rough trying to keep our balance. I got a good signal out about waist level which turned out to be an old can top. Moving out deeper about up to my neck with the rolling waves I got a great signal and put my scoop into the sandy bottom several times and about the fourth scoop I saw the white gold wedding band at the bottom of my scoop. We walked up to the beach and Jen was in her car out of the rain. I held up the ring and Jen got out of her car and asked if she could give me a hug, so in my wet clothes we hugged and she was one happy lady. She immediately called her husband to tell him the good news. Another day of making someone happy, I love my job.

Saugatuck State Park, Michigan yields a proposal

My Ring Finder partner, Dave Boyer, received an email from Guillermo R. about a friend who lost a diamond pendant just after Osman K., her new fiance, proposed. They were deep in the woods of Saugatuck State Park up on an Oak tree lined trail. After his proposal Abby’s friend ran up to her and gave her a hug, at that time Abby dropped the pendant out of her hand. They searched a couple of hours through the leaves and the rotted undergrowth to no avail. That night they searched the internet and found TheRingFinders.

We met Abby and Osman at the park the next morning and made our way up and around the park paths to the spot of the proposal. We searched up and down the hill and finally after about 30 minutes I got a very faint signal on my Fisher F75 detector. I looked down and still didn’t see anything until I pushed some dirt away and I saw a little glimmer of gold . There it was, Abby and Osman smiled in amazement and Dave couldn’t believe it was such a small item we were searching for. We used our Garret (carrot) pin pointer and it would not register.

Abby and Osman are students at Hope college studying special education for the Blind. We said our good byes and wished them well. By The Way, she did say « YES » to his proposal.

Lost Wedding Ring at Cross-Fit Gym in Houston, Texas

I was contact by Joseph a resident of Houston, Texas who was looking for someone to help him find his wives lost wedding ring.
Joseph said his wife had been working out at a neighborhood cross-fit gym when she had the mis-fortune of losing her wedding ring.
Joseph said his wife was pretty sure the ring had come off of her finger during a portion of the outdoor training session. Joseph said the area in question was a grassy stretch of lawn between the gym and the parking lot.
Joseph said he and friends had spent a great deal of time searching the area with no success, and it was then he decided to look for some professional help. Joseph said a quick search on Google took him to Houston Metal Detecting Services, The Ring Finders-Houston
After a short conversation with Joseph, plans were made to meet that afternoon to search for the lost ring.

I was contacted by Anita a resident of Friendswood, Texas who was looking for someone to help her find a Lost Engagement Ring in the front lawn of her residence.
Anita said during some outdoor landscaping activity in her front yard she had the mis-fortune of losing a diamond engagement ring.
Anita said, she felt very confident she had lost the engagement ring while doing some landscaping work in her front yard several days ago. Anita said she searched for the ring on her hands and knees for hours, and then later rented a metal detector and still no luck.

Wedding Ring Lost at Hermosa Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

I got a text from Dino that I did not see until early in the morning asking if I were the Ring Finder that I answered in the affirmative. He got back to me later in the morning stating that he had been at the beach with family, when they flew into panic mode. One of the ladies had been holding onto her husband’s rings when he went into the water, but when they were ready to go she looked and 2 of them had come off of her finger and lost in the fine sand. Luckily they were able to find one of the rings, but the other eluded them. I told Dino I would come immediately because I knew this beach is cleaned meticulously by the county, and I was hoping to beat the machines to the spot.

When I pulled up to park my phone rang, it was Dino, a little disheartened. He told me he had gone out to the area of the loss and could see that the machines had gone through exactly where they had been, and asked me what I thought we should do. I let him know that I was there already, and there is always hope when it comes to ring searches. When I got to the spot it didn’t look good, the beach was as smooth as a baby’s bottom. He showed me where they were sitting, and I could see that there was about a 7 foot wide swath the machines had left while avoiding the trash cans. Dino asked how it looked, and I admitted it did not look very promising except for that 7 foot wide section. I said, « we could only hope it was lost in that area ». I began my grid through the whole area including the untouched swath, 1 pass, 2 passes, then on the 3rd pass just at the edge of that 7 foot wide swath I got a nice signal, put in my scoop and pulled out the ring. Dino couldn’t believe it; I couldn’t believe it! What were the odds, really! What a great morning! I love this service!

Gold Coin Ring Lost at Huntington Beach, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

Saturday morning I received a desperate email from Katie. She had lost her gold coin ring in the water at the beach. She really wanted to know what the possibilities were of finding it, and if I would be willing to go. Her words in the email were, « This ring is the most valuable thing I own holding sentimental value beyond comparison to anything else. It means more to me than any object I have. » Her mother had made identical rings for her and her sister from her grandfather’s coin collection. I asked if she could meet me there immediately because it was low tide, and good for a possibility of a recovery. She was at work and not able to go, but did agree to send me pictures of the area of the loss. I got her pictures, knew the spot, and decided to right away.

When I got there the beach was full of people in and out of the water, but I was able to work a slow grid in and out of the crowd fighting the waves trying to be as thorough as possible. After 2 hours I decided to call it a day as the tide was coming in making it a more difficult search. I sent a text to Katie letting her know the outcome of my search, but I told her I would go back to try again if she would meet me there at the next low tide about 9:00 PM. She agreed to meet me, so I got down to the spot at about 9:15 PM. I had my wetsuit on to get wet so I did not have my phone with me. I looked around and no one came over, so I decided to begin another search when while I was out in the water a gentleman (Katie’s boyfriend) came out into the water to ask if I was here to find a ring for someone. I said I was and walked out to meet Katie who then told me she had given me the wrong site to search earlier. She had checked her landmarks, and realized her mistake, the actual spot was about 600 feet north of where my original search took place.

I began a new search in and out of the water working in the direction she showed me. After about an hour of searching I received a real good signal in the headphones. It took a couple of scoops and a little shaking of the sand when I saw the gold and the roundness of the coin implant in the ring, when I let out a whoop in the darkness (it was about 10:10 PM). Katie and her boyfriend came running over, and I held out my hand to Katie with her ring in it. When she saw the ring she gave me one of the strongest hugs ever, and was so overjoyed at having it back. It is truly a wonder to see the incredible joy restored when a recovery is made. I really enjoy this service of bringing smiles back to people who thought that what they lost, was gone forever.

I contacted Steve because I lost one of my most important possessions in the Pacific Ocean, on one of the largest beaches in Orange County. As I was swimming my fingers shrank from the cold and suddenly I felt my ring slip off my finger into oblivion. I tried to catch it but I couldn’t, and neither could my boyfriend who was near me. We searched forever in the surf and the through the sand however we knew it was useless. With complete devastation I went home. That ring was a family heirloom and I lost it. However he didn’t seem the least bit annoyed and after we found the correct spot it did not take him more than 45 minutes to find my ring. Steve has the entire set up, he was out there with a wet suit and all. I trust this man could find the Holy Grail. I simply could not believe that he has actually found my ring! He was amazing and so nice! And after everything was found and photos were taken I was shocked to learn that now at around 10pm he was on his way to another search. Steve is incredible and I highly recommend him. He is determined and trustworthy.
