In the photos above, I was called out to find a pair of platinum diamond wedding rings in Fort Lauderdale.  The mother of the woman who lost the rings found my information and contacted me and explain to me how important these rings were to her daughter and how distraught she was. She had lost them the day before, but did a great job of remembering where they were. As the sun was setting, I was finally able to find them and reunite them with their precious rings.  They were so very thankful.
so if this has happened to you, don’t wait. Give me a call.

Lost diamond ring while hand feeding tarpons

  • from Miami (Florida, United States)

This was one of my most interesting recoveries to date.  I received a call from a woman who was down on vacation and went to Robbie’s in the Florida Keys.  It’s a tourist destination and marina.  They have a section where you can feed the tarpon.  You can actually see them in some of the photos circling around me.  She had lost her ring while feeding the fish. They jump out of the water and take the fish right out of your had.  The ring was there for a couple days. I knew it was gonna be a hard recovery because that marina has been there forever and I’m sure there was 50 years worth of garbage there. But after about two hours, I was able to find it.  It made for some great pictures.

So if you’ve lost any type of jewelry anywhere, give me a call and I’ll help you find it. Call/text louis at (305) 608-1870

Lost Gold and Diamond Grill Lost Eight Months Ago Found

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

Not all clients want their picture taken and some choose to keep details of how their jewelry or other treasures are lost. My client, Mr. A called me a few days ago and asked if I would look for some lost items in Georgia, even though I was in Nashville, TN. He said the lost items were an upper and lower gold grill, encrusted with several small, but very expensive diamonds. He added that they were lost six to eight months ago in heavy vegetation on a sloping hill alongside Interstate 75 in Georgia. His exact words were, “I don’t think you’ll find it.”

Challenge accepted. I made the 2.5 hour drive to the area and met Mr. A. He explained how the items were lost and pointed out and area of about 40’ down the sloping embankment by 60’ wide. He had previously cleared much of the thick brush with a weed trimmer that had a steel blade. A few weeks ago he had someone else with a metal detector check that 40’ by 60’ area that he had cleared, but the two piece grill was not found. I also started by running my detector over the cleared area and was convinced the grill was outside of the brush cleared area. This had to be the toughest terrain that I have ever detected. 20 degree slope, covered in bushes, vines, saplings that all had thorns and sap on them. Luckily after only an hour or so in the thick brush I got the tone I was hoping for. I found the bottom piece of the grill. About ten minutes later and about ten feet away I found the upper piece of the grill. Both pieces were outside of the brush-cleared area by about fifteen feet. Mr. A was very happy, and was still amazed that I found the grill after they were lost for so long. Mr. A did not want his picture taken and I forgot to take a selfie with it, but the memories I have of this recovery will last. Truly one of the more unusual searches I have done.

2 rings lost in Wash park Denver found and returned!

  • from Lakewood (Colorado, United States)

Erin was visiting friends here in Colorado from Chicago over the weekend. They decided to spend some time in the very popular “Wash park” in Denver. They laid out a blanket and Erin decided to take the rings off to put lotion on. She had set them on the blanket and forgot about them. They were a Norte Dame class ring and a Claddaugh ring. As they were leaving they shook the blanket off and packed up. She was already on her way back to Chicago when she realized th

Ring found and returned in Superior, Colorado!

  • from Lakewood (Colorado, United States)

Breanna lost her beautiful engagement ring in a large park while working out. Her workout spanned from the playground through the vast field and small hills while doing a band workout that included bear crawls. My partner Jeff and I spent a combined 27 hours searching before I ran across it. The couple even went out and bought their own detector to try to find it. On day 3 I decided to do a grid search since the area was so large. I had 2 steps left before I was going to call it a day when my detector screamed at me. I looked down I saw it shimmering through the thick grass. When I told Breanna she was in disbelief as was her fiancé. This was a very stressful long weekend for them that turned and hopefully someday be a great story. It really did take awhile for it to sink it that it was found. Happy tears, here’s to many happy years !

Lost Wedding Ring Monroe Soccer Field NJ… Found!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
💍 Wedding Ring Recovered in Monroe, NJ! 💍 – Thank you to both John Favano & Ed Trapper for sending this one my way!!
At his child’s soccer practice in Monroe, a man was coaching from the center of the field while playing with his wedding ring—which was a little loose. At some point, the ring slipped off and disappeared into the grass.
Parents, kids, and even a metal detector were brought in to help, but after an extensive search, the ring remained lost.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting was called in. We arrived just as the sun was setting and quickly gridded the field to make the most of the remaining daylight. After about 20 minutes, the detector gave off a perfect signal—and sure enough, the missing wedding ring was back in hand.
💡 Pro Tip: Be careful with rings that don’t fit well—they can easily slip off and get lost. If you can, get your ring resized. Remember: if it’s loose in the summer, it will be even looser in the winter.
Another successful recovery and another happy family!

Lost Wedding Ring Morristown NJ… Found

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
💍 Backyard Ring Recovery Success! 💍
Sometimes the smallest moments can cause the biggest panic. A man was tossing items off his patio onto the lawn when he suddenly noticed his ring was missing. The whole family joined the search—scanning the yard until their eyes grew fuzzy. They even broke out the kids’ metal detectors, but the ring was nowhere to be found.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting was called in. After about 20 minutes of searching, we were able to locate the missing wedding ring and reunite it with its owner.
🔍 Pro Tip: Some precious metals can be tricky to detect. Many of the kids’ metal detectors you find on Amazon simply aren’t powerful enough to pick them up. If you’re looking for a solid option for younger hobbyists that can find them, we recommend the Nokta Midi Hoard.
Another happy ending thanks to persistence, patience, and the right equipment.

Lost Ring Ideal Beach NJ… Found!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
💍 Sentimental Ring Recovered at Ideal Beach 💍 – Shout out to Ed Trapper for the lead!!
A young man was enjoying a game of football with friends at Ideal Beach in NJ when he slipped his ring into his pocket while playing quarterback. Later, when he went to put it back on, it was gone.
By the time Greenwood Detecting arrived, the beach was completely dark. With flashlights in hand, we began the search. After careful hunting, we recovered the missing ring—one with incredible sentimental value.
This was no ordinary ring. It had been smelted from the gold of his late grandfather’s jewelry and crafted into two rings—one for him and one for his brother. Being able to return such a meaningful piece was an honor and a reminder of why we do what we do.
🔦 Pro Tip: If you are hunting in the dark, always bring flashlights! They’re essential for seeing the search area clearly and for keeping safe by avoiding objects that could trip you up.
Another successful recovery, even in the dark. 🌙✨

Lost Wedding Ring Sunrise Lake Beach Club NJ… Found!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
💍 Ring Recovered at Sunrise Lake Beach Club! 💍 – Shout out to Ed Trapper for the lead!!
While enjoying a day at Sunrise Lake Beach Club, a man was playing catch in the water when he saw his ring fly off. Despite searching and searching, he couldn’t locate it in the sand below.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting was called in. After giving a brief moment of false hope—finding another lost ring in the area—we expanded the search grid and,
before long, recovered the correct ring and returned it to its owner.
⚒️ Pro Tip:
If a lost item isn’t where you expect it, expand your search area. You can grid the spot with horizontal or vertical rows, or spiral outward from the most likely point. Persistence pays off—if the ring is there, you’ll find it!
Another happy recovery at the beach. 🌊
