Found lost Wedding Ring East Spokane

The weeds were at it again. This time a hard working gardener was trying to be wise while tending to her garden beds and took off her rings. After placing them in her pants pocket the inevitable had begun. She remembered taking  her fit bit out of her pocket but not the rings. So the next morning when she saw that her rings were not on, she looked in her pants but only found her engagement ring. Two days of searching went by with no sign of the ring. She even rented a metal detector and tried looking for the ring, with no instructions  from the rental company.  Then on Google with a few key phrases Diane found me through my Craigslist post. I showed up that Sunday afternoon with a confidence that her back yard was hiding something from her. I swung over the area where she took out her fit bit without finding the ring, so I decided to grid the whole back yard. It took two grid lines to get me near the ring. Then my V3i detector screamed at me. I looked down in the grass as I pinpointed and saw the golden rim of her ring. It is so much fun to be out there trying to find lost items. This was the first ring find of the summer for me and I’m glad Diane has her 32 year old wedding ring back on her hand.

lost ring : Never Give up

The call I received was typical, the exchange of information was made. I headed to the parking where the ring was lost. However the person that was surprised on this ring hunt was not only the lady who lost the her ring but rather the Ring Finder himself. I’ll let the pictures tell you the details and add that she found this ring on the trip over to the parking lot where I was waiting. So this is why I say never give up even after a few rounds of looking for the item.

Lost Ring in Colville Washington

So you know that moment when you look down, then look around and then go It’s gone. It doesn’t really matter what it is, keys, your child, your phone, we have all been there. So when I got a text at 6pm last night asking if I was Luke Schlining The Ring Finder, I knew an upset lady named Shailynn was feeling the same feelings. Her intent was to take some nice winter photos for the holidays. However after preforming an action shot of throwing snow up in the air, her hands had reached that magical temperature that shrinks the ring finger. Off went her Fiance’s ring with the melting snow she had just threw. In that very snow that she was standing in, the ring sat. It didn’t make a sound for her on their metal detector, nor did it come to the surface when they sifted through the snow. But as I made a quick grid around the trampled snow where the photo shoot took place,  I quickly discovered where the ring was hiding. Handing it back to  Shailynn was an amazing feeling, punctuated by her mom yelling « He Found, It He Found it ». I now know how Chris feels when the people who hired him are still signing his contract and he digs up their lost ring from right under their feet. As my Dad put it, a good ending to 2015.

Thank goodness for Ring Finders and good people

Thank goodness for Ring Finders and good people. Luke was eager to drive 45 mins to come look for my ring and he was equal parts professional, friendly, and caring. I had never met Luke before but a Google search brought me to his Ring Finders page.

Visibility was less than 4 inches and it was amazing that he was able to find my ring considering the conditions he described above, not to mention the ring sat on the bottom in the muck and slime for 7 days before I had a day off to go out there. The lake bottom is littered with old cans, bottles, coins, etc and I was actually getting fairly discouraged after sitting on the dock for 1.5 hours or so, getting sun burnt and feeling bad about my lost wedding band. Luke was positive the whole time and like he said, after taking a 15 minute break to regroup, he picked up the signal and somehow got it back to the shallows, basically working blind, without dropping it. At first I was in disbelief and I think he celebrated more than me for the first few seconds! The people on the public dock 10 yards away must have thought we were crazy jumping up and down and high-fiving, hooping and hollering. When we told them what the commotion was about, they were yelling too! It was a great time.

You can bet I’ll be recommending Luke’s services to anyone in the Spokane/CDA area that needs this type of help. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer guy to work with. Good work! (and thanks for getting my wife off my back!)

Lost Wedding ring in Rathdrum ID

Six Feet of water and a Muddy hay stack

I’ve worked hard in my career, I have dug post holes in 100 degree heat, I’ve cleaned up the foulest smelling liquid a human can produce, I’ve worked with people who hated life and loved making your life miserable. But floating in six feet of green murky water swinging a detector by the arm cup and trying to use a scoop without seeing where it was scooping has been the hardest job yet that I completely loved and would do for free for the rest of my life. I am 5’9” the spot where the ring went into the water was about 6’6”. So with the Excalibur fully extended and me holding on to the arm cup of the detector I searched for 2 hrs. I found a piece of a fishing reel, a cap off of a light bulb I think, a stinkin’ Lincoln, and most importantly Sky’s palladium wedding ring. First go at finding the ring only left me shivering and empty handed. But after the shivers went away and I got back in the water the next signal was the ring. Only problem was that I didn’t know that and I had to get it in the scoop. I had a strategy, though, I was setting the scoop in front of the coil and then scooping towards where I was floating. The third scoop was the ring and as I brought the scoop into view I saw the ring it was sticking out of the mud. I didn’t know for sure and after frantically swimming to shallower water I saw the ring in the bottom of the scoop. I looked up saw Sky looking at me so I gave him a thumbs up. I don’t think I have celebrated so hard since my kids were born. It was a needle in a muddy hay stack but by the grace of God and perseverance, a man named Sky has a story about how he got his lost ring back. Thank you for calling me Sky and thank you Chris for the directory that allows us to help people. It truly is the best job in the world like you say .

Lost item in Eastern Washington

The trees have ears..?

The trees have eyes you might be saying, however deep in the mountains of northeast Washington  they had ears. What I mean is that, a gentleman named Skip had lost his hearing aid while out hunting. After looking in the dark for a few minutes and returning the next day to find that it had snowed, Skip decided to look for help. He called a local metal detecting shop and asked about renting a detector. The sales man knew he wouldn’t have any luck so he told him to look up the Ring Finders. So a few days ago I returned Skip’s call and set up a date to go looking. it was 19 degrees, the ground was frozen, but the sun was out. It took one and half ours to drive out to the location, 5 minutes to walk to the area, and 2 minutes for me to turn on my Whites DFX.  After Swinging it around and just barely hearing a change in the threshold while in pinpoint mode, Skip and I started looking on our hands and knees. Just moments into it Skip pulled out a piece of the aid from underneath a few twigs. So then we started moving around some branches and I spotted the other half that contained the inner workings for the aid. Happy, cold and elated to have helped this man, I thought I am so glad this was my first ring finders happy ending. Thank you for calling me Skip it means more than anything to have had the chance to help you.
