Lost Gold Wedding Band China Creek Park, Vancouver…Found!

I received a call this morning from a young man who told me that he lost his gold wedding band at China Creek Park in Vancouver. He went on to tell me he was about 80% sure it was lost in the park, I asked him a few questions and explain to him that this would be a closure search, meaning that if the ring was there I would find it, and because there was a 20% chance it wouldn’t be there it could show up somewhere else…Car, house, store…

He also told me that he lost the wedding band four days ago and that he came back with his dad and they both raked the area hoping the ring would show up. This is the second search in a row that I’ve heard that the people have been raking the grass looking for their ring, it’s not a bad idea, it might pop it up, but you have to go over it.

When I got to the park (Murphy’s Law again) they were already halfway through cutting the grass, I saw a young man walking towards the lawnmower 4×4 and he started talking to the Parks Board gentleman who was cutting the grass. When I got closer and met Devon (Great Guy!), he told me they were going to hold off on cutting the grass where the ring was lost, as they hadn’t made it to that area yet.

Devon showed me the area where he believed he had lost his ring, I asked him to make a square in the grass by dragging his foot as the grass is a little damp and left marks so I can see where he thought the ring was lost. I began my search and after 10 minutes I found his beautiful wedding band that was hiding inches under the grass.

I surprise Devon with the ring and got to see his great smile and how happy it made him, he was married for less than a year and told me how hard that was knowing that he lost it. It was an honor to find your wedding band, Devon!

Lost Ring Aldergrove Regional Park…Found!

I received an email from a young lady and this is what it said…

Hello Chris,
My name is Erin and I am hoping you can help me find my wedding ring that I lost yesterday afternoon, somewhere in a small section of Aldergrove Regional Park. I noticed fairly quickly that I lost it, so I spent most of my time there looking for it instead of enjoying the park. Are you available to help me look for it with your metal detector? I would be very grateful if you could! Please let me know.

Thank you,
Erin
I replied back that I would be very happy to help and asked her to call me which she did pretty soon after, it’s very important to get there as quickly as possible in order to have a chance to find it before someone else does. I met Erin at 7 pm, she was a very nice young lady, she showed me what she was doing and where she believed the ring was lost, it didn’t take long before I found her smile. It really helps when people can put you in the ballpark, sort of speak, and she did that. This was a first for me to find what they call a  »ring jacket » it’s two rings soldered and separated so that the engagement ring can sit the middle. Aaron also told me her husband said to her don’t worry I will buy you another one, what a great guy, I think I saved him a few dollars by finding this one.

Lost and Found Rings, Third Beach, Stanley Park…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  Anytime 24/7   778-838-3463

Murphy’s Law, who is this Murphy? I’m in the ferry lineup to go see my grandson very early in the morning on Saturday when I get a phone call from a young lady who needs my help finding her lost rings that she lost at the beach the day before. Unfortunately, there is no way of turning back to help her so I told her that as soon as I get back Sunday evening I would go straight to the beach to search for her rings.

I know three days is a long time for people not to find the rings as there’s a lot of new detectorist’s out there now, that being said, it is a game of inches and I know the approximate area of the rings, so my chances are most likely better.

The young lady, Yoshi, told me that she couldn’t meet up that evening because she had to work, she sent me pictures and told me the exact location where she was sitting. I was totally fine with that as I know the beach pretty well.

When I arrived at the park I could not use their paid parking as it was closed, because of COVID-19. I drove further down the road and did find a spot and had to walk about 15 minutes to the beach. I figured it was a good thing because less people would’ve hunted that beach because of the inconvenience of parking.

I got to the beach just before dark went to the location she had sent pictures of and started my grade within minutes I found her two beautiful rings that were just inches in the sand, and lost for three days. I was so excited they were still there and more excited to send Yoshi a picture of her rings. We set up a time to meet the next morning.

Lost Ring Kits Beach…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

This afternoon I received a call from a young lady who’s husband lost his ring in shallow water while paddleboarding at kits beach. She told me her husband was still in the water with others searching for the ring. I told her to tell him to relax and that I’d be there in 45 minutes,  I assured her I would find the ring if it was there.

The most important thing I told her was to mark the location where he belived it came off his finger. So many times people panic and forget to make mental notes of the approximate location the ring came off which makes it very difficult as we are looking for something very small in the ocean.

When I arrived and met Sam we talked a little bit and he showed me where the ring came off his finger. I grab my gear and headed into the water and after 15 minutes I tightened up my grid search and ask more questions, there’s a lot of iron pieces, pull tabs, and bottle caps in this area. I knew I would find his ring and I was listening for a very loud short signal in about 25 minutes I got that signal and pulled out Sam’s beautiful white gold wedding band. Sam was spot on with the location the only thing was that the tide went out by the time I got there and the ring was found close to shore.

I’ll never get tired of what I do, I absolutely love finding people smiles and seeing the reactions when I find their ring and put it back in their hand. I also get to meet some amazing great people and Sam is one of them, I have the best job in the world! Thanks for the virtual hug Sam and the kind reward, historical times this COVID-19.

White Rock Beach Lost & Found Ring

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

I received a call to help a young lady find her ring that she lost a few nights ago at White Rock beach. We talked on the phone and she told me the story how her ring was lost, spending the night at the beach with friends having a few drinks, and just being young and having fun, she felt her ring slip off her finger while in the water at about waist deep. Polina then told me the story behind the ring and how much it meant to her to find it, I was up for the challenge.

This was a bit of a hike down to the beach as it’s not a place I normally search, Polina sent me pictures of the area and told me a friend of hers had searched a couple of times with the metal detector in hopes of finding her ring. ( Nice guy)!

Polina decided to meet me that day to show me the areas she was in and where she believed the ring was lost. The poor thing, she was pretty beat up from the coral on the rocks, she could barely walk, she was so cut up and scraped up. When we made it down to the beach I could tell it was going to be a very difficult search due to the size of the rocks in the area, the one good thing was Polina remembered a rock that was a pyramid shape where she believed the ring may have slipped off her finger.

With alcohol and the fact that it was dark out and the beach was lit by the moonlight, it was almost hard to believe she could remember seeing such a rock. When we got to the beach she pointed out a pyramid-shaped rock that she wanted me to check around and I did, but had no luck. I took a look around and started to do a grid search the best I could do considering the difficulty of the size of rocks in the area. After approximately two hours I found her beautiful ring! Guess what it was near, yes the pyramid-shaped rock… Amazing! Polina was correct in believing she had lost the ring by a pyramid-shaped rock… Fantastic memory! Great Smile & happy ending.

Polina was walking down the beach quite a ways away when I found the ring, I decided I was going to fake her out and tell her my batteries were dead in my metal detector and I had to go to my car… That’s when I surprised her with the ring!

How to find a lost ring, Vancouver Park…

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call from a young lady who said she lost her ring at a local park in Vancouver. She asked if I could come and help look for it, I asked her to make sure to check the area really well before I came out. Sometimes people can find their own ring just by looking in the area they believe it was lost in, after a half-hour I got the phone call to come out and help.

Paula was at the park with friends and family celebrating her nephews birthday, I asked her to text me when the party was coming to an end, she said around 6:30 pm. I arrived at 6:15 and was greeted by Paula, we discussed the possibilities of where the ring could be. I started a grid search in the most likely area I believed the ring could be in,  after one hour and 45 minutes I shifted my search into a bushy area that was very hard to swing my detector, I knew I had to use my pinpointer in this area.

Paula asked me if it was OK that they went home to celebrate her girlfriend’s birthday, I told her absolutely, as I knew I had another 45 minutes of searching left before it goes dark. Shortly after they left the area I found the ring and was able to call Paula back before they drove away.

Surprising someone with a ring that they lost is the funniest part of my job! I love the smiles and happiness it brings to a stranger! This ring was her father’s wedding ring that he gave her before she moved to Vancouver from Brazil. One can only imagine how sentimental that ring is to her and how important it was to find.

Lost Engagement Ring Found, Vancouver BC.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

I woke up this morning around 6 AM and checked my emails, there was one email that was sent at 12:51 AM.

Here’s what it said…

Hi Chris,

I lost my engagement ring in a park near Sexsmith Community school today. I have a vague idea of the perimeter where the ring might have been dropped but have not been able to find the ring tonight. Your help will be precious. Please let me know if you can help.

Thank you very much,
Anne Desplanches

Sent from my iPhone

I sent an email asking them to call me ASAP to discuss the search, I didn’t hear back as soon as I thought I would, my first thought was most likely they were going to rent a metal detector and tried to search for the ring themselves. This happens a lot and it makes me sad to think that some people may search and not find their ring and totally give up. This was not the case, I received a phone call around 12:15 PM asking if I could come and look for the ring. He also told me that he rented a Metal Detector but could not find the ring.

I met Matt at the park and started asking some questions, I had Matt cone off the areas he wanted me to search, it was a warm and dry day and hard to see the grid lines I make on the grass. After one hour Matt’s fiancé Anne showed up at the park to wish me luck. We talked a bit and I assured her that if the ring was there, I would find it.  I decided to go back into my north-south grid and do an east-west direction and use a different detector. This was a good move as I found the ring, it took a total of 2 hours and I was so happy! While I was taken pictures to text to Matt he drove up and saw me taking pictures, as he was walking towards me I started telling him I might have to come back tomorrow as the grass was to dry to see my grid lines…Then as we were discussing the details of the next days’ search I held up the ring to Matt and got his great reaction…

Matt went home to bring his wife to the park so that I could get a smile for the Book of Smiles…

Lost Diamond Pendant at Ambleside Beach, West Vancouver… Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

Right place, right time, I bet this has happened to many of you over the years!

I went to Ambleside Beach early in the morning to do some metal detecting on the dry sand, shortly after starting my day I was approached by a young lady (Denise) who asked if my metal detector could find a diamond pendant. I said yes it can, then I started asking Denise if she knew the approximate location where she believed she lost it, she told me she knew pretty much exactly where she lost it.

After talking for a little bit and walking to the location a few hundred yards down the beach, I came to learn that this diamond pendant was a gift to herself and has a lot of sentimental value surrounding it… Her daughter bought her the matching diamond ring for Christmas, what a beautiful surprise!

Denise told me she drove all the way from Pemberton which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive to come back and look for it. She was at the beach the day before visiting when she lost her pendant, she drove home then came back with her friend to look for it the next day,  she was smart enough to make a rock shrine/pile so that she could come back and find the spot the next day. (Great Thinking)

While she was looking for her pendent a city worker saw her and told her there was a guy with a metal detector at the far end of the beach that might be able to help her…Me

Denise showed me the rock shrine and told me to search a few feet in front and to the right, after a few minutes and no luck, I had a few more questions, I started to search the rock shrine/Pile where I got a good signal and bingo!

Denise was so good at marking the area where the pendent was lost she almost buried it under the rock pile. What a beautiful pendant I was so happy to be able to find it for her.

Lost & Found Rings Vancouver, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

Timing is everything when it comes to looking for lost rings in a public area, especially if you post it on the craigslist. I got a phone call yesterday evening from a young man who lost his wedding band of 19 years while taking his keys out of his vest pocket. After discussing the search over the phone he told me there were two places where he reached in to grab his keys, one place was when he was on the sand, the other place was on a concrete walkway.

This gives me a 50-50 chance of possibly finding the ring for the young man, the fact that he placed it on the craigslist with the location might make my chances even less.  After talking to Jason for a little while I knew the beach pretty well and headed out to take a look for his ring, he lived quite far from the beach so I told him if he was comfortable with me going to look for the ring without him, I’d go and give it a shot.

When I got there the sun was going down and the tide was coming in plus I didn’t pay for parking so hopefully I can find the ring quickly. When I got to the location I phoned Jason just to make sure I was understanding where he came out of the water with his kayak and reached into his pocket. I set up my camera to do the video, to my surprise it was the first target I hit within seconds I was holding his beautiful gold wedding band.

I was so happy that Jason’s ring was still there for me to find…

Found Ring in Aldergrove, BC.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

I received an email a week ago in regard to helping a young lady find her husbands ring that was lost while throwing weeds over the fence in the backyard. After asking my typical questions I found out that the Ring had been lost two years ago, she saw something on Facebook about TheRingFinders that gave her the idea to call.

We talked for a while and she told me that they rented a metal detector but cannot find the ring, also that there were prickle bushes where the ring fell. I was very interested in the fact that the ring had been lost for two years and knowing that no one would’ve found that ring because it was just on the other side of the fence beside the road, nobody would be metal detecting for that ring there.

We made arrangements to meet in Aldergrove where they live, about 60 minutes from my house, in a weeks time. Today I met Justin & his wife Janelle & daughter, we talked a bit about where he believes the ring was lost and how it got there,  I was very confident I would find the ring so we set out for a little bit of a walk around the block to where the back of his fence was, thankfully Justin cut back the thorn bushes to give me a chance to sweep my metal detector over the area, I knew I was looking for a tungsten carbide ring so I brought a couple with me just to see a visual display number and show him how the detector works.

I found a few bits of scrap metal and within 10 minutes alongside the road by a ditch and only feet away from his fence, I found his wedding band that was lost for 2 years & 10 minutes!

I love my job! I get to make people smile! Please share with your friends on your social media, tell them about TheRingFinders.com Sharing is Caring…Together we can find more smiles!
