Lost Diamond Engagement Ring and Wedding Band After Apple Throw…Found in Annapolis, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Pam’s 14 karat white gold 1 carat diamond engagement ring and 14 carat white gold diamond wedding band – both recovered by ring finder Brian Rudolph.

Pam could not be happier as she holds up her two cherished sentimental keepsakes that were successfully recovered by proud member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a woman named Pam who lost both her 14 karat white gold, 1 carat diamond engagement ring and her 14 carat white gold half infinity-style diamond wedding band.

She was driving into her neighborhood when she threw an apple out of her window in order to feed some deer that always hang out on the grass on the opposite side of the road. When Pam released the apple, both of her precious keepsakes went flying off of her finger!

Pam heard a « clink » sound coming from the direction of the pavement on the opposite lane of the street. It appeared that one or both rings had ended up hitting the concrete. The woman panicked and immediately pulled over to the side of the road in order to seek after her « jettisoned » jewelry. With all of Pam’s efforts to try to recover her lost rings out there in the dark, sadly she was unable to find even one of her possessions.

Early the next morning, Pam and her housekeeper returned once more to the search site to see if they could find the two sentimental keepsakes. However, after a very long time of combing over the road, curb and grassy areas (without stepping in the grass in fear that the rings would be pushed down into the ground), the two ladies finally gave up and returned back to Pam’s estate.

Though Pam was extremely disappointed and perplexed at the disappearance of her very special diamond engagement ring and diamond wedding band, she was not about to give up by any means. The young lady went online and looked for a metal detecting service in Annapolis, Maryland. One of my ring finding articles that I published on THE RING FINDERS website popped up on her screen and immediately Pam reached out to me by phone.

Later that morning, I drove out to the search site to meet up with Pam who showed me the « scene of the crime ». The woman was extremely helpful in showing me how she drove by and approximately where she threw the apple. My client even pointed out the apple which had landed up in the grass on the opposite side of the road. This was a very important piece of evidence which would help me narrow the section that I needed to metal detect.

Once I got all of the details, I returned to my car and retrieved all of the necessary metal detecting gear that I would use for the ring search. My biggest concern was that one or both rings ended up being picked up by an oncoming vehicle’s tire sometime during the night or in the early morning hours before Pam and the housekeeper arrived. It’s very easy to miss these little « halos » out on the street or in parking lots. So it was quite possible that Pam just did not see one or both of the rings while she diligently searched that night.

Once I made sure that there were no pieces of jewelry in the road or along the curb, I scanned the grassy areas starting closest to the curb and worked my way down the street. I made several passes (or grid lanes) that were approximately 60 feet in length. Each time that I finished another lane, I moved up the grassy incline another 4 feet and started a new pass.

I encountered quite a few potential signals during my search out there along the road. However, each time that I checked out the curious target at hand, it would end up being either a bottle cap or some small piece of scrap aluminum. I didn’t give up.

At some point, I hit another fantastic target signal that was located 25 feet from where the apple came to rest. I knelt down on the ground and used my pinpointer to identify the exact spot of where the piece of metal was resting. I am excited to share that I did in fact recover the lost diamond engagement ring! It was absolutely exquisite looking! Pam was down the street looking around the curbside areas when I discovered the special keepsake. I continued with hope that I would find the wedding band some place nearby to where I recovered the engagement ring. I so hoped it had made its way to the grass and not picked up by a tire.

I thought, ‘The odds that both rings made it across the road and that at least one bounced and still made it into the grass was very minimal at best to believe’. But I kept my hope alive that perhaps the wedding band traveled farther up the hill. Well, that wish certainly came to fruition because I did in fact get another great signal coming from my detector and it turned out to be Pam’s beautiful half infinity-style diamond wedding band! It was found about 3 feet away from the other ring and farther up the hill! I rejoiced within me knowing that my client would soon be reunited with her irreplaceable jewelry!

Pam could not have been happier to be handed her amazing rings and I thanked the Lord for answering our prayer that we lifted up to God before I began the search! What a wonderful moment that was to preserve more « symbols of love » and to allow for these special stories to continue through Pam’s family line from here on out!

Lost Family Heirloom Gold Ring, Silver Confirmation Crucifix and Chain…Found on Ocean City, Maryland Beach by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tommy’s family heirloom 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band that belonged to his grandfather for 50 years until he died. Also, Tommy’s sterling silver confirmation crucifix pendant and chain.

Tommy displaying his very special jewelry that he thought he would never see ever again! After a very diligent search, Brian Rudolph, a member of THE RING FINDERS, successfully recovered Tommy’s lost ring, crucifix and chain!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Tommy’s family heirloom 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band that belonged to his grandfather for 50 years until he died. Also, Tommy’s sterling silver confirmation crucifix pendant and chain.

I received a phone call from Tommy’s mother Kris who was extremely upset for her son’s loss of his grandfather’s 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band, Tommy’s sterling silver confirmation crucifix pendant and silver chain that everything was connected around it.

The young lady requested my assistance in trying to recover these very special keepsakes on behalf of her son. Tommy’s grandfather wore that wedding band on his finger for 50 years until the day he passed away. The other jewelry had been worn by Tommy since he was a young boy. Obviously, there was a lot of special meaning connected to each of these pieces of precious metal.

The story goes like this. Tommy was out having fun on the Ocean City, Maryland beach with his friend. When he decided to go into the water, he took off his sterling silver chain which held his grandfather’s wedding band and the confirmation crucifix pendant. Tommy gave the jewelry to his friend who wore it around his neck until he had to leave the beach to go do something else. When the friend was about to leave, he took the chain off that he was wearing and placed it on Tommy’s shirt that was laying in the sand. He assumed that Tommy would see the chain and then place it back on his own neck before leaving the beach. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened.

It turned out that when Tommy returned from the Atlantic Ocean water, he picked up his shirt but did not notice the chain lying on top of his things. Instead, he put his shirt on and left the beach to meet up with his friend.

A few hours later, the two guys were heading to Dewey Beach, Delaware when Tommy remembered that he hadn’t gotten his chain back from his friend. He asked if he could have his chain back and that’s when his friend told him that he had left it for him on his shirt back on the Ocean City beach. You can imagine what was going through Tommy’s mind at that point. He was really upset and he wanted to get back onto the beach as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the friends were nearly 45 minutes away from Ocean City, so they decided to return to the beach in the middle of the night after returning from Dewey Beach.

After a long night of partying as well as lots of worrying (about the jewelry), the two friends returned to the spot where they were hanging out on the beach earlier the previous day. With their phone lights on, they searched endlessly and yet they had absolutely no luck in finding the sentimental keepsakes. When they were worn out beyond measure, they left the beach and returned later that morning during daylight hours and continued their mission to recover the lost property. Sadly, no matter how much time was spent looking for the gold ring, silver crucifix and chain, all of the two young men’s efforts led to no avail. That was about the time when Tommy called his mother and shared the bad news with her. In desperation, Kris went online and searched for help. Thankfully she found the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS! The concerned mother immediately looked up a ring finder in the Ocean City, Maryland area and that’s when she discovered my profile. After talking on the phone with Kris and getting all of the details, I then talked with Tommy and we worked out a time for me to meet him out on the beach to see if I could recover the very special items.

Later that afternoon, I drove 3 hours to the east coast in the attempt of finding Tommy’s lost jewelry. With every minute that passed, I was beyond delighted to be on that mission to help save very special memories that belonged to Tommy and his family.

When I arrived in Ocean City, Maryland, Tommy took me to the approximate spot where he thought that he and his friend had placed their things on the sand. There were some rocks near the water and he said that he specifically remembered that particular landmark. This gave me some confidence that at least we were in the right search zone. The only questions remained. One: Was Tommy accurate as to the distance from the water to where he thought they placed their things on shore? Two: Did Tommy accurately remember the distance (from left to right if looking towards the water) from where the rocks were to over where the guys’ things were placed? And three: Could someone have already discovered the precious metal items from the time the guys left the beach until the time that I arrived to help Tommy out? There are situations where my clients think they remember where they were when they lost their items, but come to find out, they were searching the whole time in the wrong place and with metal detecting gear that they didn’t know how to operate or the equipment was inappropriate for their particular application.

After Tommy finished answering all of my questions as to the search parameters that I was to detect, my client took off down the beach for a nice long walk towards the pier and I in turn got out all of my equipment to begin the search.

I methodically swung my metal detector across the grid lines that I created on the beach. I did not miss a square inch and I made certain that I searched much farther from north to south as well as farther distances east to west just to make sure that there was no room for error.

Once I finished detecting the dry sand that was closest to the water and then towards the middle of the beach, I started to get concerned because the jewelry was nowhere to be found. I concluded that either Tommy had me looking in the wrong area or someone had already detected that section of the beach and walked away with the lost ring, cross and chain.

My last attempt to find the family heirloom and other jewelry was to search farther up the sand in the direction towards the boardwalk. Also, I would detect farther south, in the opposite direction of where the rocks were located.

After just a few minutes of implementing this new strategy, I got a very curious signal on my metal detector. All along, I knew that if I found the missing jewelry, the VDI numbers on my detector screen would vary in sequence. This is because we were dealing with various objects and made of different metals. So, when I got that particular hit, my detector was registering numbers all over the place. That’s when I was pretty certain that I had found what I had been looking for all that time!

I’m happy to share that when I got down on my knees to inspect the sand, little by little I began pulling from down below the most handsome sterling silver chain with a large crucifix and a yellow gold wedding band connected to the chain! I could not have been happier at that moment for my client Tommy!

While I had been detecting earlier, there were some skeptics sitting nearby and they didn’t think there was a chance in the world that I would be able to recover this very special property. Just as a couple of those naysayers were getting up to leave the beach, the two of them were beyond impressed with the successful outcome! I gave much thanks to the Lord for me being able to help Tommy out! When he returned from his walk, he was extremely emotional and blown away by the news! We both thanked God together for answering our earlier prayer that we lifted up to Him!

There was a large crowd that was off in the distance and they all celebrated with the two of us! Then, a whole group of Tommy’s friends eventually came on to the sand from the boardwalk which resulted in many hugs and high fives being exchanged between all of us! I can’t express what a wonderful time that was to be able to help this young man save something as precious as his late grandfather’s gold wedding band and Tommy’s own confirmation crucifix that meant so very much to him! When I spoke with Tommy’s mother later on that evening, Kris was very choked up and her words of thanks meant very much to me! I was so glad that I received her call earlier in the day!

Lost Ring in Grass After Bee Attack…Found in Great Falls, Virginia

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Doug’s 14 karat yellow gold wedding band found by metal detectorist Brian Rudolph (a proud member of THE RING FINDERS) after 1 hour of searching Doug and Jenna’s Great Falls, Virginia property.

Doug and Jenna happily showing off the 14-karat gold men’s wedding band that was lost in their backyard during a vicious bee attack! Metal detectorist, Brian Rudolph, known as THE RING HERO, recovered the sentimental keepsake on the 1 acre property belonging to the couple!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Jenna called me on behalf of her husband Doug who lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band somewhere out on his 1 acre property. Here’s the backstory.

The couple went to church earlier that morning. They returned home and Doug immediately headed outside to cut their lawn with his push mower. In the process of being so diligent, the young man got attacked by a swarm of bees that came out of a tree at the top of the hill.

Doug swatted the attackers with one hand while still having the other hand free to operate the mower in order to keep the engine running. Even when he turned around and retreated approximately 30 feet away from where the bees had initially invaded his space, some of the unrelenting insects followed him across the lawn.

Immediately, Doug stopped the mower because he felt a bee entering into his boot. He took his footwear off, removed the ruthless attacker and then continued mowing the lawn with a huge sigh of relief.

After waving goodbye to Doug’s family who were taking off to go on an errand, the diligent groundskeeper continue cutting grass until the mower completely ran out of fuel. According to my clients, Doug filled up the gas tank in front of the house and that’s when he realized that his precious wedding band was no longer on his finger.

Immediately, the concerned young man went back to the rear of the house and began searching the grass for his very sentimental keepsake. When all of his efforts failed to recover the ring, Doug decided to go to a local sporting goods shop and he bought a Bounty Hunter Tracker 4 metal detector.

Doug returned to his house where he spent an hour scanning is 1 acre yard for the missing wedding band. Eventually he had to give up the search because a heavy rainstorm fell over the area and so he returned inside the house for the rest of the afternoon.

Doug’s wife Jenna wasted no time in seeking another solution in finding Doug’s lost wedding ring. The young wife googled: « How to find a lost ring in grass ». She figured that maybe she could give her husband a few tips on how to effectively metal detect for a lost piece of jewelry. Immediately, an article popped up on the screen which was published by one of the members of the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. Jenna realized at that moment that she could search the directory for a local ring finder to help the couple recover the lost ring instead of Doug trying to find it on his own with his cheap metal detector.

Jenna then searched for the closest ring finder in the area and my contact information popped up on the screen. In no time, the two of us connected by phone and we made arrangements for me to come out later that evening. The family was heading to Boston to visit family and friends and it meant a lot to Jenna to recover Doug’s lost wedding band before they took flight the next morning.

When Doug found out that Jenna was on the phone talking to me, he was extremely grateful for her sleuth work in finding a potential answer to their frustrating problem and he too hoped that I could make it out later that day rather than wait until they returned home from their trip. When Doug sent over the search form which I request from my clients, He added these words in the email, « Thanks again Brian (for being willing to come over tonight at the last minute), your attitude has made a huge difference and we are hopeful that you will find the ring before we leave town ».

Later that evening, I arrived at their Great Falls, Virginia house at 7:00 p.m. to conduct the search. The weather forecast said that the rain would subside around sunset and then begin again a couple of hours later. Therefore, I had a certain window to work with before things got ugly out there again.

Doug came out of his house and showed me around his one acre property. As he recounted his steps all around the lawn area, I marked each key spot with an orange plastic tent peg.

My client returned to his house as I began the first phase of the recovery project. I conducted an air grid search where bees first attacked my client. The area was a section that spanned approximately 30 feet by 50 feet.

When I did not have any luck discovering the ring in the first part of the property, I moved on to the second phase of my search by detecting down the hill towards the right side of where Doug was attacked by the swarm of bees. I covered a 20 by 50 foot area of lawn and still the « symbol of love » was nowhere to be found.

The third leg of my project consisted of scanning the lawn behind the area where the initial bee attack took place. Another 50 by 30 foot search section covered places where Doug stood while he said goodbye to his family and the piece of real estate where the young man retreated to When he stopped the mower to inspect his boot.

I’m happy to share that my metal detector picked up a very promising signal just 2.5 feet from one of my orange markers that was placed in the ground right where Doug said he had checked his boot for a stray bee that had made its way inside of it. When I knelt down to inspect the exact place where I detected the piece of metal with my machine, my eyes immediately beheld a very handsome classic yellow gold wedding band that was hiding below the many blades of grass! I was so excited! I found Doug’s lost ring! The entire search took about 1 hour to complete and I couldn’t wait to surprise the couple with my encouraging find!

So as it turned out, Doug’s ring came off his finger exactly at the time when he took off his boot to remove the stray bee that made its way inside. After the reveal (which brought such smiles to The couple’s faces, I took Doug out to the spot where I found his very sentimental piece of jewelry. The three of us rejoiced and thanked the Lord for helping me recover the lost ring!

The timing of finding the ring when I did could not have been more perfect in two ways. First, I was able to return the band to its rightful owner just prior to the family leaving for Boston for a week. And secondly, moments after I revealed the ring with the couple and we thanked the Lord for assisting me in the search and recovery process, the sky opened up and buckets of rain began to pour down uncontrollably for the rest of the night! The whole experience was truly providential and extremely gratifying for me to help Jenna and Doug recover their irreplaceable piece of jewelry!

Throwing a Ring is « Normal »

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Carlise’s gigantic 14 karat yellow gold and 2 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring with 40 additional diamonds (adding up to another 3 carats worth of diamonds)!

Chris and Carlise happy together once again now that the couple’s gorgeous « super bowl » size ring was finally recovered by professional ring finder and metal detectorist Brian Rudolph

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

The word « normal » is defined as: conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected. When somebody gets upset with someone else, throwing a ring happens to be more expected than you would think.

As a professional ring finder, I along with many members of the elite metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS have met hundreds of clients who lost their rings due to tossing or throwing a wedding band, engagement ring, sweetheart ring, promise ring or maybe a combination of all the above.

In the case of Carlise and Chris, they too had their moment of stress, and as a result… Carlise’s 14 karat yellow gold, 2 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring with 40 additional diamonds (adding up to another 3 carats worth of diamonds) went completely missing somewhere on the side of their house.

For the next week, the couple along with some of their friends searched diligently with a metal detector for the very special keepsake, but all of their efforts led to no avail. When one metal detector did not work, they sent it back and ordered a second one to try that one out and still the ring was nowhere to be found. Eventually, the couple searched online and fortunately they found THE RING FINDERS website. Before long I was on my phone talking with Chris and scheduling a time to come out to help recover his wife’s lost engagement ring.

The next day, I arrived at the couple’s residence and I couldn’t wait to get started with the search. Carlise shared with me where she was standing in the driveway when she threw her beautiful piece of gold and « ice ».

As soon as I got all of the facts, I took out my metal detector and other necessary gear from the car and started the search on the lawn just along side of the driveway. Within a minute or two, my metal detector gave me just the right signal that I had been looking for! I took my pinpointer, knelt down to the ground and carefully checked the spot where my machine was sounding off. There it was! Hidden in the grass just feet from the edge of the driveway, my eyes beheld a huge « super bowl » sized engagement ring! I had never seen such a humongous betrothal keepsake! There were diamonds everywhere around that very large 2 carat solitaire rock!

The moment that I grabbed the ring between the blades of glass where I discovered the jewel, I took off in the direction of where Carlise was standing and I immediately presented her with the amazing engagement ring! My client absolutely lost it with excitement! Carlise couldn’t believe that I had found her lost jewel so very quickly after she, Chris and a number of others had spent countless hours searching for the ring all to come up completely empty handed!

I reminded my clients before and after the search project that throwing rings are quite normal in my line of work. So many couples take their anger out on these precious objects that I call « symbols of love ». You may ask yourself, ‘Why throw these expensive irreplaceable items?’. The answer is simple; I will sum it up with two questions and two answers.

1. What’s the one object that means the most to someone at one point in time that represents love, commitment, faithfulness, covenant and thoughtfulness? Answer: A ring.

2. What’s one way to get your loved one’s attention when deciding to lose control? Answer: Throwing that meaningful and irreplaceable object!

You see, though it’s unhealthy, unfruitful and extremely hurtful to throw such an important item, it’s still considered a very normal and expected behavioral response. So much so that I truly expect to soon get another phone call or text from yet another client who did the very same thing that Carlise and Chris had sadly experienced!

I received a distress call from a woman named Shaundra who had lost her yellow and white gold family heirloom pendant and gold chain that had been handed down to her by her grandmother a year earlier. This pendant which had a large letter « E » in the middle of it, was worn by her grandmother up until the time that the woman had passed away. It meant everything to her. The special matriarch of the family wanted her granddaughter to wear it around her neck just as she had for so many years. Therefore, to lose this, there was much guilt and grief going on within Shaundra.

Shaundra realized that the pendant was gone sometime after she arrived back to her hometown several hours away from Ocean City, Maryland where she had been vacationing. It was either lost on the shore somewhere, or possibly out in the water where the woman was cooling off earlier that afternoon.

I was so happy to receive the phone call from my client. I had to drive 3 hours to Ocean City, Maryland to conduct the search, but I was excited nonetheless. When I got there in the middle of the night, I took all of my metal detecting gear out onto the dry sand and laid out my grid lines to start the search. Shaundra had helped me over the phone, earlier that day, with information that would help me strategize a particular area on the beach where I would first start my hunt.

I am happy to share that I successfully recovered the exquisite yellow and white gold family heirloom pendant attached to its yellow gold chain in the dry sand! I never had to go into the water to start looking for it because my metal detector located the jewel between two of the grid lines that I had laid down out on the sandy beach shore.

Shaundra made the trip out to the beach in the middle of the night just to assist with the search in case I had problems identifying some of the landmarks that she had given me earlier on. So, when she arrived, Shaundra had no idea that I had already recovered her most priceless material possession! My client was beyond emotionally moved by the news that I shared with her that I had found her grandmother’s special pendant that had been buried inches below the sand!

I love what I do to help people find their sentimental keepsakes! With the case of Shaundra, she will always be indebted to THE RING FINDERS for providing such a wonderful directory of metal detectorists around the world to help people just like her help recover their most priceless possessions like Shaundra’s pendant and chain!

Lost Buried Treasure Unearthed by Ring Finder in Woodbridge, Virginia

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Ali’s century old antique 18 karat gold ring with green agate stone – a jewel that traveled the middle east and eventually across the globe to the United States.

Ali holding the century old ring that everyone else thought could never be recovered until metal detectorist Brian Rudolph succeeded in solving the ten year old mystery.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

20 years ago Ali had a neighbor (we will name her Asli for this story) in Woodbridge, Virginia. Asli gave Ali her family heirloom ring that had dated back over a hundred years earlier. She gifted the ring to Ali because Asli did not have any daughters or daughter-in-laws to hand it down to.

Here is the backstory about the ring: Asli’s family lived in Turkmenistan back in the early 1900’s. The 18 karat yellow gold ring with a large green agate stone in the center was originally acquired in that region possibly by Asli’s grandmother or grandfather. At some point, the family moved to Turkey. The ring was then passed down to Asli’s mother who kept it in her possession until immigrating to Saudi Arabia years later. When Asli got married in the Arab land, her mother gave the very special ring to the bride as a wedding gift. It was kept in Asli’s possession for nearly five decades right up to the time that she made her way to the United States. She hoped that one day she could gift the ring to a future daughter or daughter-in-law, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. When Ali happily accepted the family heirloom from her thoughtful neighbor, Asli told Ali, « This ring will grow prosperity in your life ».

Eventually, Ali and her family moved away from her friend to another Woodbridge, Virginia community nearby. During the first couple of years of living in the new residence, a family member moved into the home for a season of time who sadly created a lot of strife for the rest of the household. On one particular day, while a very heated argument ensued between Ali’s son and that other family member who moved into the house, Ali was extremely disturbed by the whole situation and a thought came into her mind. She pondered, « Perhaps that ring I was given by Asli which was to bring growth of prosperity in my life, is actually a curse that is growing prosperity of dispair and conflict into my family’s house ». Immediately, she went upstairs to her jewelry box, retrieved the ring, went downstairs to her kitchen, wrapped the piece of jewelry in a Bounty paper towel, sealed it in a Ziplock bag, grabbed a trowel and buried the gold ring in a six inch hole beside a tree on the side of her house.

Unfortunately, the conflicts didn’t end with the burial of the ring. During one particular visit that Asli made to the couple’s new house, the old neighborhood friend inquired as to why Ali was not wearing the special ring. Ali shared what she did with the sentimental keepsake that once belonged to her friend and Asli was extremely upset about what she was told. Ali then realized that she was wrong for thinking that there was something evil attached to the piece of jewelry and the two of them decided to go outside and attempt to dig up the ring. Asli said to Ali, « You will dig, and I will pray ».

The ladies went to the spot where Ali thought that she had buried the baggie but they were not able to find the ring anywhere. She dug and dug even some more but all of Ali’s efforts led to no avail. Not even Asli’s prayers came to fruition. This only upset the old neighbor even more than before when she had first heard that her gift (which was thought to have been a curse) had been buried on the side of the yard. Once again, tears began to flow down Asli’s face as the two ladies headed back into the house empty-handed.

Over time, this whole ring ordeal weighed heavily upon Ali’s heart. Several years later, the guilt-ridden woman returned with her trowel to yet again search for her missing jewel. Still, Ali found nothing. Then, some time had passed yet again, and this time Ali’s husband and son joined in on the excavation. This time a metal detector would be utilized. Hours upon hours were spent looking for the lost treasure and even with three members of the family all teaming up to locate the secret hole in the ground, still no one could recover the piece of gold. Ali’s husband said to her, « Its gone. Its no longer there. You will no longer find the ring so forget about it ». Ali never could let it go.

Approximately ten years had gone by since Ali had first buried the ring, and once again, the woman felt an inner nudging to try to recover the lost jewelry that had been gifted to her by Asli twenty years earlier. Instead of attempting another dig, Ali decided to take to the internet and search for a solution. This is when she stumbled across the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. After reading wonderful testimonials and viewing lots of smiles of other ring finder clients, hope arose again within Ali’s heart! Immediately she called me to see if I could help her solve the 10 year old mystery as to where the ring had ended up (if it was in fact still there). I was delighted to receive Ali’s phone call and I could not wait to visit her Woodbridge, Virginia estate a couple of days later!

When I arrived at Ali’s house, I was immediately greeted by the woman who then showed me where she believed she buried the ring in the ground. I was taken to a particular tree that was positioned right on the property line, located on the right side of the house (if you are facing the front of the estate).

When I observed the characteristics of the tree that I was shown, I noticed that there were at least four other trees that looked identical to this one. Already I could tell how easy it would have been for Ali to have forgotten exactly which tree she dug her hole next to when she buried the « cursed ring ». I started metal detecting around that one particular tree and I in fact did get a promising signal that registered the exact numbers that I was looking for on my detector. But upon digging the object up, it turned out to be a false alarm. I continued on to the next tree.

Even though Ali was pretty certain about which area she had dug her hole, the more searching I did, the more my client was less sure of herself since so many years had passed. Coincidentally, I ended up getting another great target signal coming from Tree #2. However, that potential object turned out to be another piece of uninteresting, non-precious metal. I could tell that Ali was slowly losing hope as she had previously experienced over the many years of searching for this mysterious jewel. Yet, I was only more intrigued by the challenge of finding the buried treasure.

While my client went up the hill and into her house to prepare some drinks for me (it was extremely hot outside that day), I returned back to Tree #1 just to double check my work to be certain that I didn’t miss anything. When I was done scanning that area once again, I was 100% confident that I did not miss the ring anywhere in that search site. I concluded that either: 1. The family heirloom ring that had previously belonged to Asli had been randomly dug up by landscapers when Ali’s neighbor laid down new mulch and more flowers during the past decade. Or 2., I was still looking in the wrong place. Perhaps all that time Ali had convinced herself that the tree that she buried the ring next to was further towards the front/side yard rather than closer to the back of the side yard. This would explain why every time the family searched for the gold, they came up empty-handed.

My next move was to consider the second scenario listed above. I theorized the idea that perhaps I had been looking in the wrong place all along. I chose to move my equipment further towards the backyard but still remaining on the side of the house and metal detect around Tree #3. At first, I did not pick up anything of interest on my metal detector screen. I figured this might end up being another failed attempt. However I kept analyzing the ground around this one particular tree. Eventually, I got a very promising target signal. It showed the same numbers that I picked up while at Tree #1. Coincidentally, when I dug up the object (which I cannot recall what it was at the time), it turned out to be the exact same item that I found at the other location! I thought to myself, ‘What are the odds of that?’

Though it didn’t look too promising after pulling up that bogus non-ferrous target, I still continued to check every square inch around that third tree. I had been using a 6-inch coil at the bottom of my detector in order to make it much easier for me to search between plant life and the tree. I was glad that I chose to use that piece of equipment because eventually I got another target signal that appeared to indicate that there were two pieces of metal buried close to one another. I would end up getting a number on my screen that was perfectly in the range of what the yellow gold ring would have rung up as. And then I was registering these other curious numbers that danced around that higher number. I thought to myself that I either detected another piece of trash, or there were two different objects – one of which could potentially be the of precious metal that I had been looking for. My depth readings on my detector screen did indicate that the metal was buried approximately 6 inches or so down in the ground.

With much anticipation, I began to dig up the object(s) with my shovel. Upon using my pinpointer to identify the exact location of my target, I pulled up what I hoped to be the missing ring. But unfortunately, I recognized that there was no plastic baggy wrapped around this particular item. It turned out to be another piece of miscellaneous metal. As a seasoned metal detectorist and ring finder, I did not immediately move passed that current hole after analyzing the object that I had just pulled out of the ground. I wanted to see if there was a second item that was very close to the one that I had just removed from the earth. I started to dig some more around that particular spot.

After removing some more dirt from within the hole, I once again used my pinpointer to scan for potential metal. Well, to my joyous surprise, the handheld detector once again began to beep! My heart began to race and my anticipation grew rapidly, hoping that the high number that showed up on my detector screen earlier on, would turn out to be the very treasure that I have been looking for. Again I picked up my main detector and scanned over the area where the object was still buried in the ground. To my greatest excitement, that high number still showed up on my screen! This meant that there was still a high probability chance of finding the precious metal that I had been searching for all along! I carefully dug some more inside the mysterious hole in the ground and eventually my eyes locked in on something that simply took my breath away! I stumbled upon a piece of plastic! I thought, ‘Could this be the plastic baggie that contained the ring?!’ I was so very excited at that moment! I dug a little bit more and then carefully pulled a little bit more of the plastic out from within the hard packed earth. I still couldn’t tell exactly what it was but with every second that passed, it sure looked more like a sandwich bag!

I decided to dig around the other side of the hole where the target was still mainly buried beneath the dirt just so that I didn’t damage the potential content(s) within the plastic. When I finally reached a depth inside the hole where the plastic could finally be fully recovered all in one piece, I carefully pulled the mystery object out into the sunlight…and there it was! I found it! I found the legendary Ziploc bag that contained the missing buried treasure! It had to be the one that we had been looking for all along! The very one that had been sought after for nearly ten years! I was so happy at that moment! It was such an exhilarating feeling to search and successfully recover something of such importance for Ali, and yes, for Asli as well, knowing that the ring had been buried in the ground for all that time! Just incredible!

I must say that there was nothing like the moment when I presented the baggie to Ali and she opened it up to reveal its contents! There inside the plastic was the Bounty paper towel, and wrapped up within it was the beloved 18 karat yellow gold ring with a very old and exquisite looking green agate stone in the middle! The jewel that had brought such unrest to Ali at one time, now caused a beautiful smile to appear across the relieved woman’s countenance as she held the family heirloom – antique ring once again in her hand!

Ali could not believe what I was able to successfully accomplish for her that afternoon, even though she was the one that possessed that initial glimmer of hope when she first contacted me. Over and over again, my client thanked me, and in turn we both gave thanked God above for helping me with the ability to bring an end to Ali and Asli’s ten year ordeal. She couldn’t wait to share the good news with her old neighborhood friend! The cherished century old jewel that had once traveled from country to country and then eventually taken across the world…was finally back where it belonged and where a new story could be added to its already fascinating origins.

Metal Detecting Lost Handmade Ring in Chesapeake Bay…Found by Brian Rudolph Near California, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Ana’s very special handmade sheet metal ring crafted in a Boston, Massachusetts’ summer workshop camp when she was sixteen years old.

Ana so happily displaying her very sentimental ring (with Poss and Ana’s father David celebrating along side Ana) that metal detectorist, Brian Rudolph successfully recovered from the Chesapeake Bay after 2 days of searching.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a gentleman named David who found my contact information on the wonderful international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. He was calling me on behalf of his daughter Ana. She was out swimming with a college friend in Lexington Park, Maryland (near California, Maryland) when her very special ring slipped off of her finger and traveled to the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay. The two of them searched for a very long period of time but their efforts led to no avail.

This ring that Ana was wearing was no ordinary ring. She had made it herself out of sheet metal during a summer camp class program up in Boston, Massachusetts when the young lady was only sixteen years old. This handcrafted piece of jewelry became a part of her everyday life. She not only traveled across country several times with this it, but this very sentimental object was worn all over the world as she visited numerous countries afar. When it was lost in the water, Ana was devastated.

4 days after the loss of the ring, I headed out three hours to that region of the Chesapeake Bay to see if I could recover this very special item for Ana. On Day 1 of the search, Ana and her father stood on the shore and gave me some general directions as to where the young lady thought she lost the ring. It turned out that there were no landmarks for me to line up with and Ana didn’t remember how far out she was in the bay. This made my search attempt extremely difficult. I metal detected for two hours with no success to report back to them as they waited on shore until the sun disappeared below the horizon. We had to eventually call it quits until the next morning.

On Day 2 of the search, I requested that Ana walk out with me into the water and show me the approximate area where she thought she had lost her beloved sheet metal ring. The one thing she did remember is that there was a certain dip in the sand and also there were shells lined up in a certain area. The only problem was that Ana wasn’t sure how much distance she and her friend were from east to west (the area parallel to the shore). I ended up searching approximately 50 yards (150 feet) from left to right and approximately 40 yards (120 feet) away from shore. It was a large area to metal detect!

I set up a very special grid system in order for me to keep track of the areas that I had completed searching in the water, and the sections that I still needed to scan. An hour and a half went by but I never gave up. I knew that the ring was going to give off a unique signal if I came across it. The reason for this is because the ferrous item would probably show a little sign of rust knowing that it had been in the water a few days and the fact that it was not made of aluminum or precious metallic properties.

When I still could not find the sentimental keepsake, I asked Ana if she could bring her college girlfriend (who drove across country with Ana from their California school to Maryland) out to the site so that she could offer her own opinion as to where her friend may have lost the « halo ». Ana’s friend agreed to be picked up and while she drove over to her place, I continued to search for the missing sheet metal made ring.

Shortly after Ana’s friend named Poss had finished showing me the area where she thought the two of them were swimming when the ring slipped off Ana’s finger, I enjoyed the most wonderful moment of surprising the two ladies and Ana’s dad with the news that I had in fact found the missing ring! I had actually recovered it while Ana drove to pick up her friend, but I didn’t reveal the happy update until after I got Poss’s opinion as to where she thought it was lost. This way I could tell them where it was actually discovered out in the bay verses where the two of them thought it may have settled to the bottom. It turned out that the two of them were quite a bit off the mark due to how naturally one’s memory changes as the days go by. When I got a particular signal that showed up on my detector screen as possibly containing a combination of iron and steel, I was quite hopeful that I had finally discovered what I had been looking for for so very long. Indeed, it was the right target! What a feeling of elation that was to be able to recover such an « object of love » out there in that vast body of water!

The three of them were in complete shock! David was truly blown away by the news and Ana displayed such a beautiful expression of emotion as I handed her extremely special hand-crafted piece of jewelry back into her possession! She was so very grateful for my successful efforts and one could tell how Poss was so very happy for her college pal now that this very important keepsake had returned to its rightful owner!

Before we all said our goodbyes, I led us in a moment of giving thanks to the Lord for blessing us with such a successful search and recovery operation! What a memorable day that was for me and even more so for the young lady who cherished that very special handmade keepsake that had been on Ana’s finger since she was just sixteen years old!

Lost Wedding Band Blessed by Pope Francis…Found by Ring Finder in Potomac, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Jon’s extremely special 10 karat yellow gold classic wedding band that was blessed by Pope Francis.

A beam of happiness shines across the countenance of Jon’s face just minutes after being presented with his beloved wedding band by metal detectorist and member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a woman named Julia who contacted me on behalf of her husband Jon. He lost his classic yellow 14 karat gold wedding band while working out at a local Park in Potomac, Maryland. This ring was not just a sentimental piece of property that meant so very much to the couple, but it also had tremendous spiritual meaning to Jon and Julia as well. The band that was placed upon the groom’s finger, had actually been blessed by Pope Francis himself! This special keepsake was extremely unique in every regard!

Just before Jon started doing pull-ups on some play equipment, he responsibly took his ring off and placed it in his shorts pocket for safekeeping. Then, after he finished his reps, Jon went on a jog around a pond that was situated in the middle of the park. He forgot to place his wedding band back on his finger and by the time he got around to the other side of the pond, the ring had fallen out of his pocket somewhere along the path. Though the concerned gentleman searched for the missing jewel for 45 minutes or so, none of his efforts helped to recover the lost band. Jon walked home sad and shared the news with his wife Julia.

Sometime that evening, Julia decided to take to the internet and search for a solution to try to find a way to recover the one-of-a-kind ring. She eventually stumbled upon the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. Before long, I received a call from Julia and I immediately made plans to visit the park where Jon’s « symbol of love » was lost.

With all of the information that Julia had given me, I felt pretty confident that I could attempt the recovery project without having Jon present. In fact, his wife hoped that this would turn out to be kind of a surprise for her distraught husband if I was somehow able to return it back to his finger.

As soon as I reached the play equipment, I took my metal detector out and scanned the entire area. I concluded that the ring was definitely not under any of the wood chips that surrounded the equipment. I then moved onto the path where Jon had jogged around the pond.

Because there was plenty of distance that I would have to metal detect around the body of water, it made the most sense to start from the play equipment and move counterclockwise in the direction that Jon had traveled. Every 20 yards, I detected 5 feet from the right edge of the path over to the grassy lawn area. Then, when I didn’t find the band, I backtracked and scanned 20 yards of grass (5 foot wide swings) heading back in the direction where I started detecting. When I didn’t find anything on the other side of the path, I started searching the next 20 yards of grass on either side of the concrete.

Although the project took quite a bit of time, I am delighted to share that all of my efforts proved to be most successful in the end! After metal detecting approximately 100 yards of grass (moving my coil with 5 foot wide swings back and forth) around the pond, my detector eventually gave me the target signal that I had been yearning to hear and analyze for nearly an hour and a half! In the grass, a few feet from the path, I found the precious wedding band that had been blessed by the Pope and placed upon Jon’s ring finger all those years earlier! I was beyond elated for the couple that would soon be surprised at my successful endeavors!

When I revealed my findings with Jon over by his house, the man couldn’t believe what I was able to return back to him! He truly thought the ring was gone for good! He had such disbelief about the whole matter that he studied his ring extremely carefully just to make sure that he wasn’t being set up for a huge disappointment. Thankfully, Jon realized quite quickly that what seemed to be an impossibility in ever seeing his ring again had actually become a true reality! I give thanks to the Lord for such a fantastic finish!
