Lost Yellow Gold and Gemstones Ring at Four Seasons Hotel Beach Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Dylan on Wednesday October 7th who was on vacation from Riverside, California.  Dylan texted, « Hey, my girlfriend lost a ring in the lagoon right outside the Four Seasons Oahu Ko Olina.  We were basically on the shore but it slipped off her finger probably when we were a foot deep in the water. »  I agreed to meet them on the beach for a hunt.  Dylan had me search one area and when it wasn’t found Samantha arrived and thought it would be more to the South.  No ring was found.  I told them I would do another hunt on Saturday morning.  After looking at their pin drop more closely, if it was accurate, the ring should be further North.  So that’s where I started my search.  So sure enough, about 20 minutes into the hunt, I got a nice tone in shallow water and in one scoop there was Samantha’s pretty ring in the scoop.  I texted them a pic and we arranged for a mail return as they were back in Riverside.  Got a pic today with smiles and the ring back on her finger where it belongs.  Aloha to Samantha & Dylan!

Lost White Gold Cartier Love Ring at Four Seasons Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a voicemail last night from Ronnie who was on vacation from Vallejo, California and staying at the Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina.  While enjoying the cool water of the lagoon at some point his recently purchased White Gold Cartier Love Ring came off and he only noticed when he got back to his room.  He tried looking for it but the waters were stirred up and impossible to see.  Four Seasons Security convinced him I would come out and hunt the ring for him as he had been a bit hesitant at first.  I immediately called Ronnie and agreed to come out after work the next afternoon.  Ronnie gave me all the details I needed to start the hunt.  The tide and surf was up but I was in the most protected area off the lagoon so the hunt was relatively easy.  I found a few foil targets then on about the 7th leg of my grid I got a booming tone on the Manticore.  Surprisingly,  it took three scoops to recover the ring in belly depth water.  I went back to my car and texted Ronnie a pic of his ring then followed up with a call.  We met down buy the beach attendants booth for the return.  A few handshakes and hugs and Ronnie was so relieved his vacation was saved.  Aloha to Ronnie!

This ring find started in the middle of July when I got a call from Andy from Alamo, California. While playing catch with his son in the Four Season’s lagoon his Gold Wedding Band came off in chest deep water. I arrived around noon and started my search. The lagoons are fairly easy to detect in with pure white sand and the rings normally stay within a few inches of the surface for days. Andy stood in the water where he thought he was when the ring came off and I started my search working out and away from his position. I searched for nearly an hour with no luck finding the ring. I found a different ring and a few coins. I was frustrated not being able to find Andy’s ring which should have been a cinch. I told Andy I would come back that weekend and search the deeper water with scuba in case his ring came off when he was throwing the ball and it might have went deep. Unfortunately Andy had to leave later that day without his ring. I hate when that happens. I came back the next weekend and did a grid search on scuba in deeper water and again another ring and bracelet but not Andy’s ring. That takes me to today I was doing a shallow to neck deep search for some Oakley prescription glasses when I got a nice low tone in thigh deep water. Two scoops and there was a Gold Wedding Band. Sure enough it was engraved and dated as Andy told me it would be. But why in the shallow water? I guess third time is a charm! Aloha to Andy!
