It’s been a cold couple of weeks with with a lot of snow and more to come with a warm front and lots of rain on the way… I got a call from a young man who asked if I could help him find his white gold ring that his father gave him. I asked him where he believed he lost the ring, he told me he was blowing snow to clear walkways at his workplace, he believed the ring came off when he took off his gloves. After asking a few more questions, he said there could be a couple of areas that I’d have to check but he was confident it was in the area he showed me first.

I started my search and after 30 minutes I could not find the ring. I started expanding my search area and found it 15 yards away from where he thought it would’ve been and where he had searched for it.  It’s amazing how far these rings can fly…For me it’s all about asking the questions and the detective work that follows. Yes some searches are easier than others for me but there has been a lot of my customers that have rented or bought detectors that couldn’t find it themselves then I come in and find it in minutes…That being said I have over 50 years of experience and I look forward to helping anyone who needs something found.

Can you find a lost ring in snow, New Westminster.

Well, it was a big snowfall and the phone was ringing, I was successful on most callouts, but two fell short of success. This happens for reasons unknown, one person may have lost it sooner than he thought, it likely could have been lost in three or four different locations during the day. The other person felt the ring come off when they threw a snowball, unfortunately I couldn’t get there right away because the roads were hazardous. I had to wait a day and they had shovelled away the snow. I checked for three hours, but did not find it anywhere sadly.

A young man in New Westminster who lost his ring at the workplace in the back alley, he’s wiping snow off his pants before getting into the vehicle. This young man was only married three months, he told me it was a beautiful white gold with small diamonds 3/4 away around the band. He was pretty devastated, but I had a good feeling we’d be able to pull this one, after 20 minutes of searching I managed to find his beautiful ring and get it back to him. Unfortunately, he did not want his picture taken, I respect that, as some people just don’t want to be on the Internet. So the picture of the guy in this photo is me with my smile as it makes me just as happy for me to find the ring as it does for the people who get them back…

How to Find a Lost Gold Ring at White Rock Beach…

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was on a very long search at Kits Beach when I got a phone call from a young man who lost his ring at White Rock beach. I told him I couldn’t make it out there until the next day and if he could meet me there but unfortunately he was working that day but he sent me a very detailed map and I knew right away where his ring was lost.

When I went to the beach the next day the sand looked very high in that area and I knew the ring could be buried a bit deeper, I set up my grid and began my search. There really wasn’t many targets in this area which made me a bit nervous but after 45 minutes I got a great signal on my Knox 800 and I turn my cameras on and revealed the ring in its natural hiding place.

I have to say I’m as happy as the person I find the ring for when I see it in my scoop! It makes my day when you can walk onto the beach and find a ring for someone and know how that will affect them in such a positive way. I text messaged JP with a picture of his ring and moments later I got his response. Because he works so far away I dropped the ring off to his brother-in-law who lives closer to the beach.

His brother-in-law told me about the day the ring was lost and how hard they search for it, he was pretty amazed that the ring came back and he was able to get it back to JP.

Lost & Found Gold Rings, Crescent Beach.

It was a busy Sunday, my first search was for 3 1/2 hours and no success walking over two kilometres looking for a lost wedding band for a young man. The next day I saw it posted on craigslist and I contacted him to let him know someone had found it and said that they found it two days before I started the search. I felt very happy that his ring was found and returned, then I drove to Chilliwack to find a ring in the backyard (5 minute search) and then on the way home I stopped off at Crescent Beach were a young lady’s mother contacted me in regards to her daughter losing three very precious rings that were gifts from her great grandmother, grandmother, and her mother.

She went on to tell me the rings were lost two days prior to her calling me, so I knew it could be a bit of a long shot due to how many people search these beaches in the summertime. We met at around 8 PM at the beach and talks about the search area, the young lady told me that they were playing volleyball and throwing a football. She also told me she took off all three rings and gave it to a friend to put in his pocket so she would not lose them. Playing volleyball they did not have a net and we’re just passing it around so no real reason for the rings to jump out of the pocket. Also it was short grass so most likely I would have spotted at least one ring. After 30 minutes on the grass I moved the search to the sandy part of the beach where they were throwing the football. She remembered her friend had fallen to the ground a couple of times trying to catch the pass.

This was my  »hot area » as diving for the ball and landing on the sand would definitely cause rings to fall out of a pocket. After approximately 30 minutes of grid searching the area it wasn’t looking good for success, until I’m close to my last grid search line I popped up one of the rings!!!

I now gnu the chances of finding the other two were extremely high in that approximate area and I was right! Will you see here on my post and my videos are smiles and recoveries, when you don’t see is the many times I go out searching for rings and I’m not successful. Most times it’s because people did not lose the ring where they thought they lost it, they will call me the next day or two sometimes a month or two later and tell me where they found it in their house or in their car. In all my years I’ve only had one search where I missed the ring and the people found it themselves. I’m only human I can make mistakes too.

The connection to these rings were very powerful, they were her a gift from her grand mother, her great grandmother, and her mothers gold rings, handed down to her to continue the story and hopefully one day pass on to her daughter or son. I felt honoured to be able to help find and help continue the stories of these beautiful rings.

Lost Diamond Ring, Kits Beach Dog Park…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP  Anytime   778-838-3463

I got a call last night from a young man who said his wife had lost her wedding band possibly at Kits Beach Dog Park. I asked my standard questions to see how certain they were of the location and after talking for a few minutes we set up a time to meet the next morning at 8 AM, when I got there the tide was high and very close to the logs. When I met Dave and Stephanie they showed me the area that she was petting dogs and it was the front logs closest to the water, unfortunately she also pointed in the water saying she had stepped away from the log and was standing over there when the tide was out. This would put me in about 3 feet of water if the ring wasn’t found in the dry sand. Nothing like a cold dip in the ocean but I was prepared to go in and do a search if needed, fortunately I found her beautiful ring close to the logs where she was sitting petting the dogs. This ring meant the world to Dave & his wife because it was a gift from his uncle, Dave’s uncle sadly passed away last year due to  COVID-19 and as you could imagine finding this ring was extremely important to both of them. I absolutely love what I do! I’m extremely proud of my directory and the members who have joined to do exactly what I’m doing here in Vancouver and that’s helping find peoples lost smiles & helping continue the stories to these wonderful and sentimental items.

TheRingFinders Help Actor Jon Cryer Find His Lost Wedding Band…Vancouver, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  Anytime   778-838-3463

Like most of my searches, it starts with a call or an email asking if I could help find something someone has lost. I have a series of questions I will ask in order to feel out the situation and the chances I will have for finding it. Sometimes it gets no further than the phone call, as some people explained that they had lost it in a department store or in a taxi, places I have no chance of finding what they lost.

After an email asking me if I could help find a lost wedding band I replied and asked if he could call me to discuss it further. I get the call and listen to a story on where he believes the ring was lost, he told me that he had searched for it as soon as he realized it fell off his finger but it was dark, with the flashlight on his phone he could not see the ring anywhere. He came back the next morning early and still could not find his ring.

I asked him about the area as I was not familiar with Cooper’s Park, it turned out to be along the seawall, the only area the ring could be for me to find it was in a very narrow strip of grass that separated the bike path and the runners/walkers path. Unfortunately, this was not good news, I asked if you could send me a picture of the location and he pulled one off of Google earth and I could see right away he had less than 5% chance of his ring being in the grass area.  I call these type of searches closure searches, I will come in and close off the only area I can search in order to give them closure that the ring is not there or by luck, it is there.

We set up a time to meet the next day at 9 AM, as soon as we met I knew this person, it was Jon Cryer from Two and a Half Men. I told him I really enjoyed his character on that show and he was very humble and thanked me for saying that. Such a nice person, as nice in real life as you would imagine him to be.

That being said the pressure was on, we discussed the search and Jon showed me around the area where he believed the ring had fallen. I told him there was approximately a 5% chance of finding his ring due to the fact it was all concrete apart from a little slice of grass that separated the bike path and the runner’s path. Together we walked around and eyeballed the ground around the area but I felt the chances were huge that someone had already found the ring the day before.

While Jon was walking around looking in the cracks and crevices of the walkway I started my search of the grass area, surprisingly with the odds against us and within five minutes, I had found Jon’s beautiful wedding band! I have to tell you, I was surprised to see his ring poking through the grass, got to surprise John and see how happy it made him.

Lost & Found Ring Mission, BC.

Well sometimes you find the ring quickly and other times it could take days. My last search was for a ring that was thrown out of anger and I spent 4 days and a total of 21 hours and no luck! I hate that result because it should be there? I believe I did my best but sometimes you just can’t find them for whatever unknown reason may be a squirrel, maybe a bird, maybe superhuman strength, and the ring went onto the road. Just to let you guys know I don’t always find everything I’m looking for, but I don’t give up easily.

Yesterday I got a phone call from a young man he said his friend lost his gold ring over his balcony down a bit of a ravine and no one could find it. He gave me the information and some details, then he connected me with his friend, the young man told me it was a custom-made gold ring with diamonds that he had for a very short time. I can sense his urgency and even though it was 5 PM rush-hour I jumped into my car and drove an hour and 30 minutes to Mission where he lived to help him find his lost ring.

When I arrived I met Terry and we discussed the search, I could see where he and his friends were searching with a metal detector but had no luck, it was just starting to get dark so I turned on my headlights and off to work I went. Strangely the search area was very similar to the last search that took me four days with no luck, uneven surfaces and lots of Ivy makes it extremely difficult.

After approximately 40 minutes and moving some logs and branches I received a very good signal and to my delight, I caught a glimpse of his beautiful custom gold ring! I was extremely excited and started packing up and climbing up the ravine, when I got to the top where I was putting down my equipment Terry drove up to the driveway, I didn’t know he had already gone and came back. When he got close I told him I needed to go get some more equipment because of the harsh terrain, then I held up the ring in front of him. I have the best job in the world I get to make people smile!

Terry was very happy and he was very kind with a generous reward for helping him find his recently made custom gold ring. Thank you, Terry, It was an honor to find that beautiful ring for you, and thank you for trusting me to search for it.

Lost Gold Chain, Kits Beach…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  Anytime 24/7   778-838-3463

After getting an early morning wake up call the day before at 4:15 AM to search for Lost Ring that I had found for a young man, then heading off to another site to look for a water main that only took a few minutes to find, I went home made a video, did a blog, spend some time with my wife, had some dinner and went to bed early. I was woken up to a phone call from a young man who lost a gold chain at Kits Beach, it took me a few seconds as I was a little out of sorts and not sure what time it was, he told me it was 10:45 pm. After chatting with Zach I knew it was important that I head out to the beach right away, arriving at the beach shortly before 12 AM I was greeted by 2 detectorists, Steve & Rick. We said our hellos and I asked them if anyone had found a gold chain? Steve said he had found one but he thought it was a junker, I took a look, hard to tell at night with a headlight, still not sure hope it was for him, but it wasn’t the one I was looking for.

I met Zach at the beach and he took me to the area he was sitting, unfortunately, he could not pinpoint the area exactly so I knew I had to put on a very slow methodical grid search. After an hour and a half, my headlight was getting weak so I went back to my car to get some batteries and change out detectors. I wanted to use my dual field to get rid of all the junk in the area and then hit it again with the equinox 800. Zach had brought a rake with him and asked if he could wake up the area that I had grid searched, I said yes for sure, the problem with raking an area to quickly is you might spread out the chain and it will become even harder to detect. When I got back with a brighter headlight and my other detector I was checking out the area Zak had raked and as I was looking I caught a glimpse of what I thought may have been gold.

I walked up to it bent down and pulled out his beautiful gold chain, it was nowhere near where Zach thought it would be, this is very common when people come back at night and try to find the spot they were at originally. I was so happy for him as I knew how much this meant to him. We both were very excited to see it and it took approximately an hour and 45 minutes to find this beautiful gold chain. Tonight was teamwork, Zach had most likely pulled up the chain with the rake to a point where I could see a little glint of gold. It was great to see how happy he was and to see his big smile!

White Rock Beach Lost & Found Ring

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

I received a call to help a young lady find her ring that she lost a few nights ago at White Rock beach. We talked on the phone and she told me the story how her ring was lost, spending the night at the beach with friends having a few drinks, and just being young and having fun, she felt her ring slip off her finger while in the water at about waist deep. Polina then told me the story behind the ring and how much it meant to her to find it, I was up for the challenge.

This was a bit of a hike down to the beach as it’s not a place I normally search, Polina sent me pictures of the area and told me a friend of hers had searched a couple of times with the metal detector in hopes of finding her ring. ( Nice guy)!

Polina decided to meet me that day to show me the areas she was in and where she believed the ring was lost. The poor thing, she was pretty beat up from the coral on the rocks, she could barely walk, she was so cut up and scraped up. When we made it down to the beach I could tell it was going to be a very difficult search due to the size of the rocks in the area, the one good thing was Polina remembered a rock that was a pyramid shape where she believed the ring may have slipped off her finger.

With alcohol and the fact that it was dark out and the beach was lit by the moonlight, it was almost hard to believe she could remember seeing such a rock. When we got to the beach she pointed out a pyramid-shaped rock that she wanted me to check around and I did, but had no luck. I took a look around and started to do a grid search the best I could do considering the difficulty of the size of rocks in the area. After approximately two hours I found her beautiful ring! Guess what it was near, yes the pyramid-shaped rock… Amazing! Polina was correct in believing she had lost the ring by a pyramid-shaped rock… Fantastic memory! Great Smile & happy ending.

Polina was walking down the beach quite a ways away when I found the ring, I decided I was going to fake her out and tell her my batteries were dead in my metal detector and I had to go to my car… That’s when I surprised her with the ring!

How to find a lost diamond stud earring…

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Lost your wedding ring or family heirloom… Don’t wait till it’s too late call ASAP Your 2nd chance to find what you thought was lost forever! 778-838-3463

I got a call the other day in regards to searching and hopefully finding a lost diamond stud earring in a back yard. When I get these calls they make me nervous because there is so very little gold holding the diamond and that makes it very difficult to locate these targets. It was a nice sunny day and I headed out to the location where I met the young man and his family. He showed me the area where he believed the earring came off his ear and I started my search…Note this was a tough search because of a few factors. Firstly there was a high-power electrical lines in the back yard and that drives a detector bonkers. Secondly there was a lot of target signals making it difficult to zero in on the small target. Thirdly the whole family was watching…Under pressure!  I used two detectors for this search and the Equinox 800 gave me a VDI number of 1-3 the only problem was the amount of targets and if it was sitting beside a higher number it would be hard to find. After around 5 hours I packed it up, but I didn’t give up because he was sure it was lost in the yard.

I went back the next day but not before I did a pit stop at SMI Electronics where I went and bought another Garrett Carrot/pin pointer as my old one was starting to give up/crap out. I thought about how I would do the grid search the next day and my gut told me to use the pin pointer and grid search the area he felt the earring come off…I had success within 5 minutes of the search…Luck was on my side! It always makes me feel good to find what I’m looking for and to see the smiles…This picture was the young man’s auntie as he was back in school today.
