A Gold wedding ring was found and returned by Theringfinders metal detecting service in Carlsbad ca.

June 3rd,2017   I received a phone call from a good friend John Hughes to help out William who had lost his ring in Carlsbad at the beach.

William had a friend he asked to store his Gold ring in a zipper pocket while they played volleyball. During the hour of fun in the sun his friend had taken his phone out of the same pocket to take photo’s and later they both realized the wedding ring was gone..buried in the sand. They had started to search in one volleyball court with there hands when a local fellow from A Voleyball Team who was waiting to use the court for a tournament suggested they call Theringfinders metal detecting service. John Hughes got the call and he went down there to help with out any luck. The beach was packed with people and the search area grew 100′ x 200′ feet after hearing his friend ran to another court and back during the time His ring disappeared.

I arrived to search the area that night and noticed it was a very large area to grid. I spent nearly 2hrs maticulously Gridding every inch of the zone and was running out of possible areas it could be. Approaching midnight I decided to head home to rest and give it a better shot in the morning. But like always,I never turn my machine off until I’m off the beach and while swinging back to my vehicle just out of the main search area I get a signal with a precious tone on my metal detector…I take 1 scoop and there she was,A very unique Gold and diamond ring made by Neil Lane.

I called William right away and he came down from the hotels 5 min away and was stoked I had recovered his wedding ring.

Calamity Wave Claims Clam & Prevents Perfect Proposal

Laevelle had the perfect sun setting evening planned as he and his girlfriend sat along the Pine Knolls, NC coastline.  While his girlfriend, Keneicia, took a few steps away, Laevelle placed an engagement ring into a artificial clam and set it in the sand.  His plan was to call her over to check out the clam and when she opened it to find the ring, he would then propose.  Unfortunately, before she could get to the clam, a large wave crashed the shoreline spilling the clam and covering the ring with sand.  Laevelle had lost all hope of ever seeing the ring again.  Keneicia did some research on you phone and found The Ring Finders!  She sent me an email request and after a brief phone call,  we met the next morning at 1st light to begin the search!   After about an hour of searching, the couple decided to go get breakfast while I continued my quest.  At about the time they left the parking lot the ring was recovered in the wet sand.  They quickly turned around and headed back!  It truly was a great feeling knowing they were back on track with their plans and relieved the ring was recovered.  As of published date, no wedding date has yet been set.

Apple Watch recovered in Georgetown Shores, Hudsonville, Michigan

A friend of mine, John P., called me yesterday and asked if I could find his stepsons Apple watch in the water. John’s wife, Kim, cuts my hair and charges me by the minute instead by the normal haircut price, if you saw my lack of hair you would understand why. Kim’s son, Mark D., jumped off the dock into the water to go swimming and when he came out of the water his $500 Apple watch was gone. Mark called me after John gave him my number and we made an appointment to come out and look for it. 

My Ringfinder partner, Dave Boyer, and I got to Mark’s house and looked over the area. We first tried to drag the area with our long handled homemade scoop to no avail. We put our wetsuits on and went into the water. The water was cool and there was about 6 inches of black mud. After about 20 minutes we got a signal, in the 90’s, on the AT Pro but had a hard time scooping it out because it was almost 6 feet deep so we had Mark’s friend, Colin B., dive down and scoop with is hands under the coil. He felt it the first time and dove again and pulled up the watch. Mark was ecstatic that we found his watch.

Here is the « Rest of the Story ». The Apple watch was lost 2 weeks ago in 6 feet of water and 6 inches of black mud, when we pulled it up, it was still working and it had 61% battery life. Noticed the white watch band with back stains. After Mark called his mom and dad everyone is happy and now I might get a free haircut from Kim!

Lost Gold & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Waimanalo Beach Park…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call on my way home from work from Eric who resides in Hawaii Kai. While enjoying a day at the beach with family his lovely wife Aida put her wedding & engagement rings in a towel for safe keeping. Unbeknownst to her sister she picked up the towel and the rings got flung into the sand and disappeared. After an exhausting search they were able to find the engagement but not the wedding ring. I met Eric in the parking lot and we walked down to the beach where the rings were lost. I could see numerous raking marks so the ring could be anywhere by now. I always tell folks to leave the sand alone and wait for the ring finder to arrive. Most don’t listen. After making my grid I started my search. Thankfully the beach sand was nicely clean and I only found to cents before I got a growling low tone. As I scooped into the sand I saw the twinkle of a diamond. I pulled my scoop away and there exposed halfway out of the sand was Aida’s wedding ring. I reached down and pulled the ring out of the sand and handed it to Eric. A sigh of relief came over him and his sister-in-law. Time to enjoy the rest of their vacation. Aida arrived from taking her baby home for some comfort after being at the beach so long and she was so grateful for the recovery. The pic says it all. Aloha to Aida & Eric!

A Very Memorable Memorial Day!

This nice young married couple of 6 months, a veteran and housewife were at a surprise engagement party for the new grooms brother when his ring slipped off during a water balloon fight with the kids yesterday evening in between the rainstorms that came thru. I searched the area they thought it was in but nothing showed up so I continued my grid search further back in the yard when this nice tungsten band came thru as +40 on the MXT! Really weird thing tho is that the couple turned back home after heading towards the party and got his ring because he accidentally left it home. The couple and family were beyond thrilled and excited that the ring was recovered giving the holiday and their family gathering a very special meaning!

Lost Wedding Ring Found! – Fontana, WI

Memorial Day Weekend turned to disappointment when Valerie’s wedding ring flew off her finger while playing ball with her husband, Mike and daughter. It seemed to land somewhere in the thick grass behind their newly acquired home in Fontana, Wisconsin. Despite searching for many hours on their knees, the ring eluded discovery.

A phone call from Valerie on Monday, May 29th, set in motion a quick one-hour drive to the Lake Geneva district not far from the Illinois State border. Upon arrival, she escorted me to the location where a wooden stake marked ground zero; the place she was standing when the ring left her hand. Additionally, Mike had spray painted a square perimeter line on the ground to indicate the area where the couple had concentrated their search efforts. From a recovery standpoint, this couple had done everything right but still was not able to recover it.

It wasn’t long before a promising signal showed on my monitor. The numbers displayed were consistent with Valerie’s wedding band. Then began a systematic parting of the green blades but the ring’s hiding place was no match for technology and 40-plus years metal-detecting experience. A flash of metal betrayed its presence.

Valerie, I am so glad we were able to get your ring back on your finger where it belongs; may its story continue for many, many happy years. And thank you for your kind reward.

Lost Silver Wedding Band at Four Seasons Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I was approached by Jordan who resides in Honolulu. He saw that I was detecting and I noticed he was sifting. Jordan actually had a sifter and was scooping up the sand in various places in hopes of finding his ring. The day before after going on a hike with his wife Erika they decided to cool off by jumping into the Four Seasons’ lagoon. The King tides were coming in full force and almost immediately Jordan’s Silver Wedding Band came off. He looked for a few moments but it was so silty he couldn’t see the bottom. He remembered the area and I had him stand in the water as a marker. It was low tide now and not so bad. I searched the area thoroughly but no ring was found. Jordan was in chest deep water and we searched to waist depth. Jordan had to go to church so I told him I’d try a shallow to deep search and see if I missed a spot. Jordan told me the ring had a Koa Wood design and was engraved MARK 10:8. After he left I started my search again. On about the fifth leg in ankle deep water on the shoreline I got a great tone and there was Jordan’s ring in the scoop after three scoops. The King tide turned out to be just that; it moved his ring from chest deep water to ankle depth. The distance was a good 30-40 feet. That’s quite a distance for over night. I’ve never had a ring move that much ever! Jordan happened to be on my side of the island when I called to give him the good news. So we met at the Kahala Mall for the return. I met his lovely wife Erika and they both were so gracious and thankful. Aloha to Jordan & Erika!

Lost Platinum Diamond Ring! Grandview Heights, Edmonton. Alberta (Found)

Received a call from Erica around 12:15 this afternoon she sounded very distraught, Erica asked me if it was possible for me to find her platinum diamond ring she just lost this morning while planting her garden I told her I would be there within the hour.

I meet Erica and her husband Jim at their home, Erica immediately showed me where she was working and planting shrubs in the back yard after checking the yard for clues as to where the ring could possibly be I scanned her flower beds and shrubs, with a corner of my eye I spotted her ring laying in the grass beside one of her shrub she just planted.

I called Erica over and asked her is this your ring?  I can tell you she was one happy Lady she told me the ring has never been off her finger for the past 15 years until today.

100th Return! Lost Gold Wedding Band at Aulani Disney Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This 100th Ring Find began when I got a text from Peter who is a resident at Ko Olina on Tuesday May 9th. While paddle boarding in the lagoon his wedding band came off in 12-15 feet of water. He immediately tried finding the ring with a mask & snorkel but the powdery sand in the deep part of the lagoon swallowed it whole. I told Peter I’d come over that weekend and see if I could find it on scuba. Peter said the ring was a silver metal square shaped ring. No luck on that first dive as the surf silted up the area and I couldn’t see where I had detected. I planned for the next weekend and I told Peter I’d bring a grid line to take under water to keep on track. The next weekend I laid my grid line and started the hunt. After the first leg I moved the grid line and started down the next leg. Four feet from the end of my grid I got an amazing tone and five hand scoops later there was a 14k white gold square wedding band in my hand. It was also engraved LOVE YOU COLLEEN. I called Peter and texted him a pic of the ring. Amazing he replied. No one can believe it. And all those years he thought it was silver. We met at Kahala Mall at the Jack Lord statue for the ring’s return. Aloha to Peter!
