Lost 1980 Texas Aggie Ring (found) by Chris Dean TRF, Kerrville, Texas

  • from Kerrville (Texas, United States)

Jeffrey lost his Texas Aggie class ring renovating a 1940’s house. When he searched the web for Metal Detector Kerrville, he was surprised to find the first source was TheRingFinders.com. Jeffrey called me and said he knew he was wearing his ring en-route to the house and felt sure he lost it in the yard while there. On arrival at the house I realized this might be a daunting task as reconstruction was in full swing – building debris, roofing materials, and plenty of workmen everywhere! Jeffrey explained to me what he was doing and the approximate paths he had taken the day the ring slipped off his finger. I was able to search the perimeters of the property but due to the amount workmen around the house I had to return after hours.  Upon return in the evening with my Garrett AT Pro, I was able to detect (along with a lot of roofing nails) Jeffrey’s Gold Ring buried below the surface near where the debris trailer had been. It had certainly been stepped on many times. I called Jeffrey and asked him to describe his ring and then I told him « I found it ». He exclaimed « OMG, I Love You » and then said  » I don’t really love you but I love you! » It’s amazing what people say when you tell them you found their lost ring and even more amazing seeing the smile on their face when you return it, which I was able to the next day.

I was contact by Cameron Jones from Iowa who told me he had recently been on a vacation to in Key Largo, Florida. Cameron said while on vacation he took a snorkeling trip to a popular dive location off of Key Largo. He said while snorkeling at this location he found and recovered a wedding ring that had been lodged in some coral. Cameron said the dive site was far from shore, and likely lost by another person from a previous excursion. Cameron said he has tried to find the owner…posting on Facebook with no success…additional research brought him to The Ring Finders.

The inscription reads « Benjamin and Cecilia 10-09-16 » followed by two very unique symbols.

Earth Day ring recovery! Ringfinder vs. woodchipper!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)
One diamond still intact!

Recovered with one diamond intact! Happily reunited!

This week I received a call from an arborist from Bainbridge Island. He and his tree maintenance crew were doing some work at a customer’s property, limbing trees, when he noticed he was missing his prized ring.

It was a custom ring made of silver with two diamonds and a large sapphire, designed for him by a friend with the purpose of harnessing the spiritual powers of the gemstones. It is called Vedic Astrology, also known as Jyotish Astrology.

The belief is, that certain stones, worn by the right person, under the correct circumstances, can increase that person’s success in life and business, etc.

Naturally it was a hard loss for him, and he rushed to buy a metal detector and searched for days on the property, to no avail.

When I arrived I saw a huge pile of wood chips that the tree crew had made when disposing of the limbs, and I had a bad feeling that it could have gone through the chipper. After he and the home owner and I spread the piles throughout the property, my suspicion was confirmed by my metal detector.

I found the ring, in 2 pieces! It was missing one diamond and the sapphire, but fortunately there was one diamond still remaining!

Since my detectors can’t find loose gemstones, we sifted the chips for some time, and he and the homeowner will be going through the chips as time allows. Who knows, maybe they will find them someday!

If not, he can rest assured knowing the full magic of his ring wasn’t lost, and the lost gems were reclaimed by the earth that provides him his livelihood.

Today, I’d say it was a draw, in this case of Ringfinder vs. woodchipper… But the arborist was glad to be reunited with it and he may have the mangled silver ring made into a new ring, to hold the diamond that was recovered.

One Diamond remained!

Woodchipped!

One Diamond Remained… One Diamond and one sapphire reclaimed by the Earth!

Easter / Passover ring search leads to a quick recovery!

Happily reunited!

While the little kids were out hunting for eggs, us big kids were out hunting for lost treasures!

Today I helped to find a woman’s gold wedding band lost while doing yard work. She provided good info and a quick hunt led us to the ring in one of the first places we looked! Found in under 10 minutes! I suspect they could have even found it without me but they were very appreciative and generous in rewarding me for my efforts. Thanks again!

Just a reminder that time is of the essence when it comes to finding your precious belongings! Don’t give up hope, and give me a call or email me please! I want to help you find your rings, and your smiles! 🙂

Long Lost Boston College Ring Found at Horse Neck Beach in Westport MA

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

In August 2016, while searching for a lost wedding ring in the water, I came across a Boston College ring buried underwater in the sand. Someone had tried to scratch out the owner’s name, but with the help of a magnifying glass, I was able to identify the name, Christopher P. Martin.  I searched the internet and social media for months trying to find him. I even called Boston college twice to enlist their help in locating this graduate but that didn’t help.  After six months of searching, I decided to contact WJAR Channel 10 to see if they could help me in my quest to find the owner of the ring, and they agreed. After the story aired on Channel 10, I still didn’t hear anything. My wife had an idea.  Through the Boston College website, she connected with the Facebook of the Class of 1998.  She messaged both Chris Martin and a college friend of his with a link to the Channel 10 story.  Her detective work and the Channel 10 story paid off!  The friend forwarded the link to Chris Martin, and he contacted me.  Chris told me that his apartment was broken into about 15 years ago and his Boston College ring was stolen.  He agreed to do a follow-up story about the ring return with Channel 10. With the help of my wife and Channel 10, I was able to reunite the ring with its owner.  As you can see from the videos and photo, Chris was very happy to have this ring back!    videos…….. Lost Diamond Ring Found in Cumberland RI

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

On February 25th, I received a somewhat frantic call from Lisa.  Her custom-made diamond wedding ring-band had been missing for two weeks.  It was last seen in a bathroom drawer in their house, and Lisa and her husband had been combing the house since that time.  They assumed that their two-year old son had hidden the ring somewhere in the house or that he may have thrown it out of an open second-story window in his room.  Lisa had learned of The Ring Finders from a friend and asked for my help with the search.  I covered the area in the backyard directly under the window without any success.  I also suggested that the ring may have landed on an eave or its gutter just below the second floor windows but would have needed a ladder of over twenty-feet to reach the area.  We moved our search into the house, trying to imagine where a toddler would hide a ring.  After searching through closets, drawers, under furniture, etc., I saw her son trying to stuff something through a small space in his parents’ bedroom window and suggested that he may have done the same with her ring.  We opened the bedroom window, and Lisa hung out the window to check the eave and gutter, while I made sure that she didn’t fall out.  She was shocked and ecstatic to find her ring on the eave right under the window.

Houston Police Department’s Dive Team and Metal Detecting by John Volek TRF-Houston

Houston Police Department’s Dive Team and Metal Detecting (Land and Sea) by John Volek TRF-Houston

Houston’s Dive Team had just received four new Garrett Sea Hunter Metal Detectors and were looking for some in-service training on their operation. We scheduled a two day training plan that would cover both land and water operations.

Training Day 1:
Our training focus for this course was the Garrett Sea Hunter Metal Detector, and it’s operational use both on land and water. The primary focus for the new Sea Hunters was to assist the dive team in the recovery of criminal evidence.

The break down was as follows…
Day 1 spend a couple of hours in the classroom discussing the Sea Hunter and then move immediately into with hands on training with the detectors.

Day 2

One day later, these guys are pulling evidentiary items out a lake in near zero visibility…it was simply extraordinary and speaks volumes of the character of the officers on this team. The Garrett Sea Hunter manual states 100 hours are needed to become proficient in the detector’s operation. These guy’s crushed it after just a few hours of hands on training.

The Houston Police Department’s Dive team’s cohesiveness was very impressive and their Scuba Diving capabilities and knowledge were extraordinary to say the least.

Metal Detector Training at its finest…

These guys are a solid blue line…make no mistake.
