Ashley’s Sentimental Family Heirloom Ring Found by Member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph

Ashley Excitedly Shows Off Her 14 Karat White and Yellow Gold with Diamonds Family Heirloom Ring Recovered by Brian Rudolph After Missing for Over a Week!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Ashley who lost her 14 karat white and yellow gold diamond family heirloom ring. It had been missing outside for over a week. She and her girlfriend were hanging out on the Ashley’s side lawn of her Washington DC row house when her beloved keepsake that had been passed down the family line from her grandfather, grandmother, mother and then to Ashley went missing somewhere on the property. Ashley shared with me that she was playing with the ring in her hand when it slipped from between her fingers and landed somewhere on the ground. The two friends searched for hours on their hands and knees with much confidence that they would eventually find the precious jewel. However, as it turned out, all of their efforts led to no avail.

Sometime later that evening, as Ashley was searching online for answers to her problem, she came across the elite international directory of metal detecting specialists called THE RING FINDERS. She did not realize that such people existed and immediately contacted me to inquire about my services. I told Ashley that I am constantly doing search and recovery operations and that I was happy to help her in any way possible. She decided to go forward with my help the following day and I could not wait to try to solve this particular mystery.

The next morning, I headed out for Washington DC to an area called Mount Pleasant. Once I arrived, Ashley guided me over to a very narrow area of grass where she had been sitting on a café-type table with her friend over a week earlier. The section of real estate was so small that I couldn’t believe that Ashley had not already found her precious heirloom.

Next, my client reenacted the whole event and I personally couldn’t figure out why Ashley and her friend were unable to locate the piece of gold and diamonds. It seemed so simple. My best guess at the time was that the family heirloom must have flung in an unlikely direction, far enough away from the table so that the two ladies just didn’t look outside the box far enough. Yet, the young lady said that she didn’t remember doing anything with her hand that would cause the ring to be hurled off her finger. I did ask if the ladies had been drinking out at that table and Ashley did share openly that she had a couple of beers. Sometimes in dealing with ring searches like this one, two beers could make a difference depending on how the alcohol affected that particular individual. In some situations, the client remembers a certain amount of alcohol consumed when the actual amount was really a whole lot more. You never can tell and so when you can’t easily find the item, your mind starts to wonder how much of the story was left out due to being under the influence.

From the description that Ashley had given to me over the phone, I was perplexed by the whole mystery because this particular ring was fairly large in size. It would not have disappeared that easily. Ashley described the ring as being a men’s style band that was wide and heavy. It was mainly white gold with yellow gold accents along the rims and within its inner band. There were stars all around it with little diamonds in the middle of the stars. It really sounded quite lovely! This ring meant the world to Ashley and it broke her heart that something as simple as playing with it on her finger could end up causing the ring to disappear into seemingly thin air!

The Search Site Where Detectorist Rudolph Recovered the Precious Ring

After I got the rundown about where Ashley sat and what had taken place, I began my search using my metal detector throughout the area where Ashley and her friend were sitting. There was mainly dirt with no grass in that search zone where the table was located. Therefore, it was pretty obvious where the eye would not have missed it. I checked a garden bed behind where she was sitting as well as locations along the side of the house. Nothing of importance was found and as time marched on I was getting more curious as to what could have happened with this ring. One of the last places I detected was closer to the wrought iron fence that overlooked the side of the property towards the Washington DC street. I moved a metal frame out of the way (which was the base for a hammock) and again I swung my coil over the ground and yet still nothing turned up.

I tried everything to recover this ring and still there were no substantial targets found except a bottle cap or two, a pull tab from a can and some other miscellaneous items discovered during the search. I even got down on my hands and knees and used my handheld detector in several places in order to work around metal infested sections of the property where I could not use my regular machine. Once again, I came away with no ring.

When nothing turned up, I stopped my search for a moment and rethought the whole event. I recounted in my head what Ashley’s recollection was of what happened a week earlier.  When I couldn’t find the heirloom anywhere, I realized that perhaps I was thinking too far outside of the box of possibilities. I also adjusted my detector which may not have been set properly for this type of ring search. Also, I thought that perhaps it was possible that I had missed the ring right from under my nose when I had been detecting at the beginning of the search near where the table was situated. I then resumed the investigation with a fresh perspective and a focused attack plan.

My new strategy was to metal detect over and around the same patches of dirt where I had initially began my search. I started scanning the area about three feet away from where the table originally sat.  Almost immediately I hit a fairly good signal with the exception of a scratchy tone that made the target appear to be more iron based rather than a precious metal. I really didn’t think the object could have been the ring because I was looking for a surface find, not an item completely buried below the ground.

Though I was pretty certain that the target below was not what I was looking for, it truly got me curious as to what this object actually was and so I started to carefully dig the object up with my hand digger. Just as I brought the chunky piece of metal out of the ground, the mystery began to be unraveled little by little! I caught a glimpse of a smooth rounded shape, then I saw stars engraved into the side of the object. Next, I observed some sparkles coming from what appeared to be a men’s ring! Finally, as I cleared off the rest of the dirt from the silver-like halo, there before me was the very culprit that I had been searching for for the past hour or so! It had been completely buried in the ground! I concluded that because it was completely dark outside at the time of the ring’s disappearance, Ashley must have gotten up out of her chair and had accidentally stepped on the ring. This caused it to completely disappear beneath the soft dirt where the eye would not have had a chance to spot even a glimpse of the piece of metal! Ashley’s simple account of her fidgeting with the ring without any force to cause the ring to go very far from the table, perfectly matched up with where I actually found the heirloom!

It all made perfect sense once I extracted the handsome band from below the dirt! I then realized where my obstacles existed in dealing with finding this piece of jewelry. First, my detector was incorrectly set at the time. Secondly, the ring was buried on a particular angle which made it more difficult to accurately assess the iron-like scratchiness sound that I was hearing in my headphones coming from the target. Thirdly, I wasn’t anticipating the possibility that the ring could have been fully pushed down into the ground where no metal was exposed at all! I learned a valuable lesson (even as a seasoned metal detectorist). Though I have had several searches where the item was recently lost and then found below the earth due to a shoe or foot that had pushed the jewelry down into the ground, I have at least been able to still see a slight “halo” of the ring peeking through. This particular search was definitely a first for me!

I was so happy for Ashley and I couldn’t wait to do the reveal! When I surprised her I could see her countenance light up with an expression of happiness and also great relief! Her beloved family heirloom had returned to her finger once more and she was so grateful that I could help solve this simple but yet seemingly more complicated mystery!

I truly love what I do for people like Ashley and returning rings and other cherished items is such a fulfilling and thrilling experience for me every time!

Metal Detecting Lost Platinum Wedding Band in Grass…Found at Arlington, Virginia Park

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Mark’s Beloved Platinum Wedding Band Recovered by Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph at Arlington Virginia Park

Mark Excitedly Holding Up His Sentimental Keepsake After Detectorist Rudolph Returns the Wedding Ring to the Happy Owner!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a gentleman named Mark who had lost his wedding band at Fort C.F. Smith Park in Arlington, Virginia the night before he contacted me. He said he was with his wife Padma, their daughter, and some friends enjoying a dinner picnic on a blanket celebrating the Hindu festival of lights called Diwali. This is one of the major festivals celebrated by not only Hindus, but also Jains and Sikhs. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.

Just as the family was about to leave the park, Mark realized that his beloved platinum wedding band was missing from his finger. It was ironic because he had been thinking earlier on during their social time on the blanket just how careful he needed to be with his ring because he noticed how loose it was. Unfortunately, during the next hour or so of searching in the dark with phone flashlights, neither Mark nor his wife Padma or any of the others with them could find the missing sentimental keepsake.

Mark and his wife left the park empty-handed and drove home with the plan of returning the next morning to continue their search. They also ordered a metal detector that would be arriving in the next day or two. If Mark could not find the band, he would return for a third visit with the detector in order to scan more of the grass.

Sometime that same night before the couple headed to bed, Mark decided that perhaps utilizing a professional metal detectorist in the Arlington, Virginia area would help better his chances for recovering the lost keepsake. That was about the time when Mark discovered the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. Like most, he was not aware that such a directory existed and this was his best opportunity to call upon an expert in the field of finding lost rings. I was contacted at that point and immediately we scheduled for me to conduct a search the following day.

As the sun was rising in the east the next morning, I started my drive to Fort C.F. Smith Park in Arlington, Virginia. I couldn’t wait to start searching for the platinum piece! Mark gave me information as to where he and his group were sitting on the grass. When I arrived, we had a video conference call so that the gentleman could guide me around and show me where they were parked, the places where his family walked and played and most importantly – the locations where everyone was picnicking.

Mark shared with me a few important details regarding not only where he moved about, but also the fact that he could have lost the ring while playing with his daughter. He put her on his back a few times and twirled her around on the grass. He also told me that he had collected the trash from the picnic area and placed the bags alongside the trash can because it was completely full with garbage. He was pretty certain that the bags would still be there in the morning when I arrived. Thankfully, Mark was correct – all of the trash that he had collected the night before was still in the bag resting beside the park’s garbage can.

Once I got completely oriented, I started metal detecting on and around the parking lot. I wanted to make sure that the most vulnerable areas where people could eyeball a ring would be scanned over first. When nothing turned up, I searched around the grass near where Mark and Padma parked their car. Next, I went through their bag of trash to make certain that the loose fitting band didn’t end up inside with the throwaways. Still, I did not find the cherished piece of jewelry.

After exhausting all of my efforts in the areas that I mentioned above, I was quite confident that unless the ring had ended up on the parking lot concrete and was picked up by someone, the wedding band most likely slipped off of Mark’s finger somewhere on the grassy area where they ate or played. That was my final section of the park that needed to be searched and most likely where the ring got lost.

So, I started my grid lines on the grass from the main park building that was set back a bit from the rest of the lawn, all the way over to a huge old tree that was located more to the center of the estate grounds. In minutes, I would be detecting over the exact spot where the group had been picnicking on their blanket.

During my first few grid line passes I did get a few decent targets to analyze, but nothing good enough to be a surface find. I kept at it until perhaps I was half way across my fifth grid line or so (approximately fifteen feet away from the giant tree), when all of a sudden I got the perfect signal popping on my machine! There was a certain skipping tone that sounded off in my headphones and I was quite certain that I had found what I had been commissioned to recover. I knelt down on the grass and with my handheld detector, I carefully scanned that section of grass where the target was first heard. Suddenly, there it was! Hiding under the many blades of grass, I discovered the shiny platinum wedding ring! There it was all along! Just feet from where Mark, Padma and their daughter hung out to celebrate Diwali with their friends, I discovered that very special, irreplaceable keepsake!

I could not have been more happy for Mark! It was such a gratifying experience to check out all of the possible places where the ring may have ended up, and then to find it in the last possible section of real estate in that park – it was exhilarating!

Because I was there at the park without my client, I set up another video conference with Mark and it was then that I had some fun surprising him with the fantastic news! He could not have been more happy to find out that I was able to successfully recover the lost ring! He said that he was additionally excited to return the metal detector that was expected to arrive sometime in the early afternoon that same day!

When I finished up on the phone with Mark, I packed up my gear and headed towards my vehicle. The whole way back to Maryland was just a wonderful experience reflecting on how successful the morning had ended up! I believe it was later that day that I had the opportunity of personally returning the ring to Mark. We shook hands, took some pictures together and then parted ways once and for all. He could not stop thanking me and was so appreciative of what I was able to accomplish at the park! My client was beyond grateful that I was able to preserve such a special story that was reflective of that very moment when Padma placed the platinum “halo” upon her husband-to-be’s finger on their very special wedding day many years earlier!

Lost Gold Diamond Stud Earring in Annapolis, Maryland…Found

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Anne’s Beautiful 1 Carat Diamond Stud Earring Found by THE RING FINDER’S Member Brian Rudolph

Anne, Bill and Stella Celebrating the Recovery of Anne’s Beloved Sentimental Keepsake!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a text from a woman named Anne who I had the pleasure of finding 2 lost rings for her at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland about a year and a half earlier.
Anne and her husband Bill were in the process of moving from their temporary home to their newly built place (which was in its final stage of being completed). Because there were contractors still working in the house, Anne and Bill decided it would be wise to secure their valuables over at the rental home until the work at their new home was completed.

Bill bundled up a bunch of jewelry and other things and searched for some kind of container to place the valuables in during the transport of the items. Because there was so little in the new house, the only thing Bill could find to place the jewelry in was their daughter’s wooden dollhouse that was in her bedroom.

The dollhouse had a number of doors, one on each side of the wooden box. Each door had a separate key assigned to it. Bill opened up some of the doors and locked the family’s jewels inside those compartments (at least Bill thought all of the doors were secured). Along with the dollhouse, Anne’s husband grabbed several other necessities, including a cooler. Then, he walked his two armfuls of stuff to his truck and then returned inside the freshly painted new home to grab some more important items to take to the temporary Annapolis, Maryland rental house.

After Bill arrived back at the rental house with the truck load of things, he emptied the vehicle and laid all of the cargo on the living room floor as well as on top of a coffee table next to the sofa. Sometime later that day, Anne went to retrieve the contents from the dollhouse where all of the keepsakes were placed. She accounted for everything except one very special piece of jewelry – a 14 karat white gold 1 carat diamond stud earring which her aunt gifted her with some years back. There was only one earring in the dollhouse! The matching one had completely disappeared!

Anne was very concerned as to what had happened to the earring and she looked everywhere on the floor of the house as well as in the truck with the hope of finding the little guy.  Again, she returned back to the dollhouse where she searched inside the compartments one more time to see if maybe the jewelry had ended up in a crack or crevice somewhere in the wood of the toy. Unfortunately, all of her efforts led to no avail. The stud could not be recovered.

Anne went to Bill and shared that the earring was nowhere to be found and that’s when her husband began searching everywhere including the new house just in case it fell out of the dollhouse during transport. He had remembered that he was holding a lot of things in his hands and the dollhouse was tipped on an angle. Therefore, he thought that maybe the earring could have fallen out of the box if perhaps one of the doors was not completely locked. He wasn’t sure.

Next, Bill got out his metal detector (which his wife bought for him over the holidays the year before all because he was inspired by my recovery work when I rescued Anne’s two rings at the beach) and tried to find the diamond over by the new house. He searched all along the front path, as well as near the entrance of the rental house, but sadly, he too came up empty-handed.

It was at that point that the couple did some thinking and they remembered how I had helped the family recover the two missing rings in Ocean City, Maryland sometime back. They wondered if I could assist them once again with solving the mystery as to where this family heirloom had disappeared to since I was so successful during their initial call for help. I spoke with the couple on the phone and I shared with them how delighted I was to help them with this new project.

The next morning I headed out to Annapolis, Maryland to meet up with Bill in the driveway of his rental house. I first wanted to search the dollhouse, the truck, the front walkway and the living room of the rental. If I could not find the earring in any of these places, I would head over to the new property and metal detect the pathway leading up to the house.

It was wonderful to see Bill again. The last time I saw him was on the hot sand as he was taking in the sun rays on the beautiful Ocean City, Maryland beach! Once we caught up with what was going on in each of our lives, I asked Bill if I could first inspect the dollhouse. He went into his place and returned with the wooden box. He showed me how he locked the jewelry up inside the compartments, as well as the particular open door that he wasn’t sure if it had ever been fully locked or not.

I took out my endoscope (which is a long snake-like electronic device that has a video lens at the end of it) so I could get an idea as to whether or not there was any open spaces within the dollhouse where the earring may have ended up in. I did see one particular object that was in a gap in one of the compartments, but I could not conclude that the item was in fact a stud diamond earring. When I was convinced enough that the heirloom was nowhere inside the dollhouse, I moved to the next search area which was the truck.

Once I had access to the vehicle, I placed my endoscope in every corner and crevice of the truck, but the diamond did not show up anywhere. I made sure that I looked in the car seat as well as inside the backseats but still I came up with nothing. I was confident at that point that I had not missed the piece of jewelry inside the truck.

My next targeted area would be the grass located near the driveway, as well as detecting along the front path leading to the front door of the house. I got out my metal detector and began searching all of those areas until I concluded that the white gold stud was not in that vicinity, as well.

After I put my metal detector away, I had no other choice but to search the living room of the rental property. I thought, ‘Perhaps the diamond fell out of the dollhouse and landed somewhere on the wood floor or the carpeted area inside the place.’ I got my headlamp out again, along with my endoscope and other gear, and then followed Bill into his temporary home where he led me into the living room just to the left of the foyer.

I was really hoping that I would find the missing diamond stud earring on the floor, around the couch or under its cushions, but I kept striking out! I even looked inside blankets and other items that were taken from the new house over to the rental and everything checked out clean.

This was about the time when I called over to Bill (who was in the other room) in order to do some more brainstorming together. I asked him some more questions and I just was not satisfied yet with leaving the rental property to go over to the new house to start searching the grounds. Something just did not add up with this whole situation.

Once I got all of the answers that I needed from Bill, I told him that I wanted to re-examine the dollhouse once more. Half jokingly he said to me, “Well, if you think there is still a slight chance that the earring is in the dollhouse, I will be happy to run over it with my truck so you can check it out”. I laughed and told the helpful fellow that there was no need for that and I would re-inspect the box over by the couch. We laughed.

Stella, the couple’s firstborn child who I had met previously on the beach a year and a half earlier, made her appearance as she came down the stairs to greet me. I almost didn’t recognize her with how much she grew. The cutie wanted to hang out with me and search for the missing item along side her old beach buddy. You see, when I was in Ocean City, Maryland searching for the two missing rings in the sand, I had Stella join me in the search and I allowed her to take each ring that I recovered over to her mom every time I found one. We both had a lot of fun that day on the beach!

Once I was handed the dollhouse from Bill, I placed it on top of the coffee table right in front of the couch where Stella sat with me and I began to check it out once more. First, I opened up the doors and did a quick visual search just to see if I could have missed any places in the slits that were in each section of the toy. I couldn’t spot anything loose in any of those gaps so I used my endoscope to take another close look internally where the slits exposed some kind wiring beneath the wood structure. It was during that part of my investigation that the endoscope picked up the same object that was the mysterious piece that I had detected with the scope when I first looked in the slits outside by the truck. It did not look like a diamond or even the backing of an earring attached to the post. But it did have some silver-like resemblances to what part of an earring looked like. That certainly got me a bit more curious than my initial look-over.

Whatever that particular object was that was seemingly jammed in that very small section of the dollhouse clearly could not be identified with my endoscope. Nor would I be able to use any kind of tool to pry the mystery object from the slit where my device came across it. The item was jammed too far into the open space and the path that I was dealing with was way too narrow to use my endoscope along with some kind of tweezers to extract the target. So, as Stella was still knelt down beside me patiently waiting to see some magical results, I decided to take a very primitive approach in trying to discover what that mystery item was. I first closed up all of the doors and locked them all up with the individual keys that were assigned to each of the compartments. Next, I took my fist like it was some kind of human hammer and knocked it against the wooden toy several times. I hoped that the created vibrations would knock the target loose from within the narrow space and perhaps cause the mystery object to finally be revealed. I then reopened the door that corresponded with the small gap that I had been investigating and just as I swung the little dollhouse door back to its open position, I beheld before me most unexpected surprise! Lying on the floor of that little hidden compartment was one of the most beautiful white gold and diamond stud earrings I had ever seen! I found it! The earring was in the dollhouse the entire time! It had been wedged so deep inside the vertical slit assigned to that one compartment that neither the naked eye or even the endoscope could track and identify what that mysterious object was! All it took was a good smack upside the head of that cute wooden dollhouse to loosen the piece of jewelry from that chamber and reveal the special little guy to my very own eyes! I couldn’t believe it! I was so happy to have recovered the priceless heirloom from the toy!

Stella’s Dollhouse Where Item Recovery Specialist Rudolph Discovered the 14 Karat White Gold 1 Carat Diamond Stud Earring that Had Mysteriously Gone Missing!

Because I wanted to make it a surprise, I carefully removed the earring from the compartment without Stella noticing the jewel. Then, I called Bill over and did the great reveal! His wife Anne was upstairs the whole time taking care of her newborn baby while the search had been going on downstairs. So, unfortunately I was not able to include Anne in the big surprise. However, Bill’s incredible over-the-top reaction along with Stella’s shock and excitement was so amazing that it truly compensated for his other half’s absence at the grand reveal!

Next, the two family members rushed upstairs to share the good news with Anne! Moments later, the young lady came downstairs with her beautiful new born baby and thanked me over and over again for such a successful recovery of her cherished family heirloom! I was so happy for her own happiness and relief which she was experiencing at that moment! The whole house lit up with much joy and excitement!

As it turned out, the earring had never left the dollhouse from the initial moment when Bill placed all the jewelry inside that particular compartment! It had been in there the entire time! However, with all of the shaking and flipping, the little guy got stuck inside one of the slits and became trapped in such a way that no tool could help identify it! It was after I checked all of the areas where it could possibly have dropped (other than searching the front path at the new house where I was going to go next) that I began to get bothered by the fact that I never did identify what that silver-like object was when I first inspected the box. I felt pressed to re-check the dollhouse once more just to make certain that I wasn’t missing it! And boy am I glad that I did!

What a wonderful recovery and a terrific search story that will live on in this beloved family for years to come! Not only did I recover two rings for them a year and a half earlier, but in meeting up with the family once again I was able to find a third item that was also so very precious to Anne as was her diamond wedding band and engagement ring!

I drove away from their rental home feeling so overjoyed with excitement for this family’s new found happiness! As I made my way back home, I continued to give thanks to God for helping me assist these very special people find their extremely special and precious keepsake! What an incredible m time that was! What a fantastic mystery I solved!

Lost Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring in Olney, Maryland…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Lauren’s Beautiful Diamond Engagement Ring Recovered by Member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph!

Lauren Happily Holding Two Prized Possessions – Her Beautiful Sentimental Keepsake and Her Treasured Mother Who Sheds Tears of Joy Just Minutes After Ring Finder, Brian Rudolph of Maryland Recovers Her Daughter’s Lost Ring!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Lauren who was deeply distressed about losing her 14 karat white gold and diamond engagement ring. There was a 1 carat diamond in the center encircled by diamonds around it and additional rows of diamonds that were set down each side of the band. Lauren was in the kitchen preparing a marinated chicken dish for the evening supper when she decided to take off all three of her rings and place them in her pajama pants pocket for safe keeping. Included in the bunch of jewelry was: the engagement ring, wedding band and a miscellaneous special ring that Lauren liked to wear.

After the meal was prepared for cooking, the young lady went out the front door of her Olney, Maryland home to take her dog out for a quick walk around the front lawn. About fifteen minutes later, Lauren returned inside the house and at some point she remembered that she had not retrieved her rings to place them back on her fingers. When she pulled out the group of gold bands, only two out of three rings were present! The engagement ring was missing! Lauren panicked and immediately began searching for the lost treasure. She headed back outside and looked everywhere for the precious keepsake. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn up in any of the places where she retraced her steps.

When Lauren initially couldn’t find her beloved diamond engagement ring, she still wouldn’t stop her efforts to try to recover the sentimental piece. First, she ordered a metal detector that would arrive the next day. Then, Lauren went out with a flashlight in the middle of the night and scanned the yard and front patio for the little one, hoping to see a sparkle somewhere out there on the ground. When that didn’t work, the desperate wife returned into the house and checked the trash to see if somehow the ring ended up in the garbage can with all of the other throwaways. Still, one of Lauren’s most treasured possessions was still not found.

The next day, the metal detector arrived and Lauren and her husband Jordon immediately got to work in assembling the machine and began detecting the lawn as best as they could. Lauren mentioned to me later on that they had no idea how to calibrate the detector in order to pick up the particular type of metal that they were looking for. The reason why they weren’t sure if they were using the detector correctly was because they tested another ring of Lauren’s and it did not register on the metal detector’s screen. It was then that they realized that they needed to contact a professional who was familiar with this type of search and who would be an expert in using metal detecting equipment.

The couple looked online and found the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. Lauren and Jordan were pleasantly surprised to find out that I, Brian Rudolph, provided metal detecting services in Olney, Maryland! Moments later I received the call requesting my assistance!

Between the time that Lauren started searching for her beloved engagement ring until I received a call from her asking me for help, she and her husband Jordon had searched for the piece of jewelry for over 4 hours! They were completely done with trying to find the ring on their own. Also, physically and emotionally, this was a very difficult time for the two of them. Lauren shared with me that Jordan was suffering from a major car accident that took place just days before the ring went missing. He was driving down a street and as he was crossing a four-way intersection, someone went through a red light and smashed their vehicle directly into Jordan’s car. His pelvis was fractured in multiple places causing unbearable suffering and despair. Their vehicle was destroyed and the paperwork was completely out of control in dealing with the insurance companies and attorneys that had to get involved in the process. Losing this irreplaceable diamond ring was just another brick in the wall of disappointment and sadness for the tested couple.

Once I heard all of the facts regarding the disappearance of the engagement ring and all of the hardship and adversities that this couple had been going through in the past week, I was determined to recover Lauren‘s lost ring in order to bring at least a little bit of relief back to their household. The young lady was extremely appreciative of my passion to help as well being able to come over the very next day.

On the day of the search, I arrived sometime in the late afternoon hours. I couldn’t wait to help this family recover Lauren’s lost ring. Once I greeted the young lady in despair, she showed me where she walked the dog towards the front of the home. Then, Lauren took me around the porch and over to the right side of the driveway (facing towards the street). I followed her over to the mailbox where she said she had retrieved some mail prior to returning back inside the house with her dog. I was hoping that the ring did not end up in the street when she had opened up the mailbox. However, I felt much better when I asked her if she reached into her pocket to pull out her cell phone near the mailbox and she believed that she did not reach for the device at that time.

Once we covered all of the territory where Lauren had moved around outside, I returned to the car to retrieve my metal detecting gear to begin the search. I first started scanning the lawn just in front of the house porch. This was the area where the dog roamed around and Lauren thought that maybe she had taken her phone out of her pocket at that moment which perhaps caused the engagement ring to pop out of her pajamas. This was not the only place that she could have taken out her phone, but it was the first place that she stood when she came out of the front door with the dog.

I knew exactly what numbers I was looking for on my detecting machine. I am very familiar with finding lost 14 karat white gold engagement rings. Her ring size was a tiny size 4, so therefore there was not a lot of metal to hunt for. Yet, I knew I could find it if it was still out there on the property.

When I concluded that the ring was not on the front lawn nearest to the porch, I moved my way along the concrete slab of the porch and checked under the bushes to see if maybe the ring had bounced over to the side where it could no longer be easily seen. I also looked around the section of the porch where Lauren had been working on a lovely furniture restoration project. However, there was still no sign of the precious “symbol of love”.

My last and final section of search area was located to the right of the driveway (if you are facing away from the house) where Lauren had walked as she headed to the mailbox with the dog. I was getting concerned that the ring had been lost in the house (knowing that I had such a little strip of grass remaining to check out). I asked myself ‘What would be the odds that I would find the ring right here in this little area where the grass was such a narrow strip and that the grass was not even very high enough to help conceal Lauren’s beautiful piece of jewelry from the human eye?’ Though I was wondering all of these things, I have learned as a ring finder that it’s very common to find the lost treasure even at the “11:59 position on the clock”!

I began to metal detect the last section of grass that was adjacent to the concrete driveway. Just as I got about half way down the narrow strip, I hit a really good signal. Immediately, I knelt down on the ground to investigate the potential target. Next, I took out my handheld detector from a side holster and checked out the spot where I was getting that particular signal on my machine. Just as the pinpointer device started beeping, my eyes zeroed in on a shiny object resting below the grass line, and there it was – Lauren’s beautiful diamond covered engagement ring! I found it! It was hiding right there in that little section of grass, perhaps less than six inches from the driveway! All at one time I felt such great elation and relief for Lauren and Jordon! At least one nightmare was finally over!

Once I secured the diamond ring by placing it deep inside one of my pockets, I requested for Lauren to come outside so I could do the ring reveal. Luckily, she brought her mother with her (she had recently flown into town to help take care of the couple’s child and assist in caring for Jordon while he was recovering from his injuries) so therefore I got to see both of their reactions when I surprised Lauren with the ring! The two of them burst into tears at the sight of that gorgeous 14 karat white gold band full of diamonds! It was a beautiful sight that I will never forget!

This search ended with many smiles and several hugs to go along with the celebratory words of thanks that I received! We also gave glory to the Lord who answered our prayer which we lifted up towards Heaven just prior to beginning the search. I could not have been more happy for Lauren and her family!  Even Jordan thanked me while he rested on his sofa in the living room just at the moment when I peeked in the front door to say goodbye to him! He really was encouraged by the outcome and it truly lifted his spirits while he was physically suffering.

As I drove away, I reflected on just how much I enjoy helping people like Lauren and Jordon find relief and restoration of happiness after experiencing adversities like the one Lauren and family had to so painfully endure! I so very much love what I do!

How to Find a Lost Ring in Snow…Bel Air, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Alexandra’s Sterling Silver Promise Ring that Tommy Blessed His Love With Just Two Weeks Before the Jewel Was Plowed Away With the Snow 100 Yards Down the Parking Lot!

Alexandra Beyond Excited for the Recovery of Her Beautiful Promise Ring!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a young lady named Alexandra who was really upset about the loss of her 925 sterling silver promise ring with CZ diamond stones. She had just received the beautiful “symbol of love“ from her boyfriend Tommy just weeks before the diamond covered band went missing somewhere in Alexandra’s work parking lot.

The story goes like this: Alexandra was employed at a car dealership. On her break, she went outside to the auto service parking lot during the beginning of a winter snowstorm. Alexandra wrote a little love note for her sweetheart in the snow and then took a photo of it so she could text it to her boyfriend Tommy. She returned inside and 10 minutes later she noticed that her ring was no longer on her finger. Immediately, she realized that she must have lost it outside when she was using her finger to write in the snow. Alexandra ran back outside and sadly she saw a snow plow truck hauling a “load of white” down the parking lot and dumping the contents wherever there were empty parking spaces along the way. It returned over and over again to pick up more snow and dispense the new loads as far as a hundred yards away from the main building! Desperately, she searched with faded hope that her friendship ring might still be hidden beneath the ice that remained on the black top. To no avail, Alexandra returned inside of the car dealership office without her sentimental piece of jewelry. Tommy’s girlfriend was crushed.

During the rest of Alexandra’s time at work, she looked online for an answer to her problem regarding how she could possibly recover her cherished lost keepsake. Eventually, she came across the elite international metal detectorist called THE RING FINDERS. After looking up the closest metal detecting service in the Bel Air, Maryland area, Alexandra contacted me, Brian Rudolph. She shared the backstory with me as to what took place and I quickly made plans to visit the search site later that night.

My client was extremely grateful that I was able to come out to the dealership that evening at such short notice. I knew how important it was to scan the lot that night. No one could be sure if the precious jewel was still somewhere in the middle of the parking lot under the snow or if it had already been concealed by feet of ice that was plowed away earlier that day.

As soon as I arrived (around 8:30pm), I met Alexandra and her boyfriend Tommy and then I was immediately shown where the young lady wrote her love note to Tommy in the snow. Then, I retrieved my metal detector and other night gear (including my high linens headlamp) from my vehicle and began the search. I checked out all of the key areas that we had talked about as being prime spots where the ring could have ended up. However, after searching every possible section of the lot, no ring was found except several dropped key rings from the dealership’s service department.

I detected not only the center areas of the black top (which was all covered with snow), but I also searched along the sides of the parking spaces where the plow pushed various “piles of white” into more shallow bunches. Still, I could not find the ring anywhere. Sometime around 11:30pm it was time to call it quits for the night.

I told the couple that it appeared that the ring most likely was pushed farther away into the larger piles of snow which would require some melting, as well as the use of shovels to cut through some of the remaining packed ice. I planned to return for another round of searching in the next week.

Almost every day that followed my initial visit to the dealership, I called Alexandra to get a report on how much snow had melted since the day before. It took longer than we thought for the thawing to really take effect, but after almost a week of waiting, I felt it was time to return to the site and continue the search process. This time around I brought hard core shovels that I use for cutting plugs in the earth when metal detecting buried items. Alexandra and Tommy met up with me once again and this time we began by chopping up as much snow as we could in order for me to metal detect all the way through the solid ice bergs!

I detected every possible location as far away as the very end of the parking lot – over a hundred yards from where Alexandra’s ring presumably slipped off her finger in the frigid outside temperatures. Unfortunately again, the promise ring was still missing in action. After another 3 hours of shoveling, cutting and detecting, there was little left for me to do that day. I would have to return a third time once the giant piles of remaining snow had melted even more.

I assured the couple that it was just a matter of time before the snow would melt enough to either allow for me to detect the final foot or so of snow (there were piles that were up to five feet high) or the ring would finally reveal itself on top of one of the bergs after a couple of warm and sunny days move through the Bel Air area. Since Alexandra worked right near where we hoped the ring was still hiding, I encouraged the young lady to continue visiting the snow piles and carefully look at the top of each mound to see if the jewel might one day peek its beautiful halo out of one of those “natural freezers”.

Well, as it turned out, during the next week, Alexandra would give me continuous updates as to how the snow was melting in three key piles out on the parking lot. I was ready and willing to travel the hour long drive to resume the detecting but the snow was still way too high to make the trip worthwhile. Therefore, I told Alexandra over and over again to continue walking to the piles and carefully inspect to see if the ring made its appearance through all of the ice. Each time she checked there was still nothing positive to report back to me.

After a couple more days had passed, a break in this case finally came to Bel Air! An unusual warm front made its way through Maryland and I knew that with some extreme melting that would soon take place, our chances of eyeballing the ring or successfully detecting the special keepsake was most likely going to happen! And it did!

Look Carefully and You Will See the Ring!

At Last Alexandra’s Lost Promise Ring Reappears from Beneath the Snow Plowed Mountain of Ice!

Early one the morning, just hours before I was going to be making my third trip to the search site, I received a call from Alexandra. She found her precious promise ring! I was beyond elated for her! It turned out that Alexandra did her 100 yard routine walk down to the end of the long dealership’s parking lot to look over the snow plowed piles once again. As she scanned the 3 foot mountain of ice, there it was – Alexandra’s very special love gift from Tommy! She saw it right there on the very top of the icy plateau, so patiently waiting to be discovered!

The young lady was so very excited! Over and over again Alexandra kept saying, “You were right! You were right! I still can’t believe it! Brian, you said to keep giving it time and it will eventually be found! You never thought someone had picked it up, and you really believed it was still buried in one of these huge piles!” I smiled brilliantly on the other end of the phone as I responded with a bashful acknowledgment of thanks to the young ring finder! I was so very happy for her!

The nightmare was finally over! It took nearly 2 weeks to successfully close this case, but it sure was worth waiting for such elation and jubilation from my dear client Alexandra!

Lost Gold Wedding Band in Pottstown, Pennsylvania…Found

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

John’s Classic Gold Wedding Band Recovered from his Subaru Outback With the Help of Ring Finder Brian Rudolph

John of Pottstown, Pennsylvania Displaying His Beloved Wedding Band After Found in His Outback!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received this text message from a guy named John who lived in Pottstown, Pennsylvania:  “Hi, I lost my wedding band in my Subaru Outback. Do you possibly have any suggestions???”

It turned out that John learned about my expertise in finding lost rings in vehicles from an article he read online located on THE RING FINDERS directory. In the particular article that he studied, I had recovered a platinum wedding band for a young lady who lost her ring in a Subaru Outback similar to John’s over a year earlier. She searched for over a year but could never find her beloved keepsake. I was called in and found the band in the craziest place! This article gave John some hope with his own ‘missing ring in a Subaru’ story.

Here’s the rest of the backstory: John was driving down the street and at some point his ring slipped off of his finger. He heard a “ping” sound and that’s when he figured that when he parked his Outback, he would reach down on the carpet and find the “runaway” halo. To John’s surprise, the 14 karat yellow gold classic men’s wedding band was nowhere to be found! He looked everywhere for his ring and after several hours of searching John finally gave up the hunt. He was completely perplexed by the fact that he could not solve the missing gold ring mystery.

This particular wedding band that John had lost in his vehicle was not actually the original ring that was placed on his finger by his wife Victoria many years earlier on their special wedding day. The gentleman shared on the phone with me that the first band was lost in a fire that took place in his kitchen years earlier. The heat from the flames was so intense that John’s ring was burning sear marks into his finger as the gold was scorching hot from the fire. As John was being burned alive, he desperately attempted to slide the sentimental keepsake off of his finger to finally bring some relief to his body. Finally, after several attempts, John was able to push the precious metal away from his tortured human flesh and he eventually found some relief as he continued to fight the flames. Thank goodness John survived the house catastrophe, however John would never recover the original wedding ring from the rubble.

After what happened during that terrible fire in John’s kitchen, John had made a pact with himself that he would not allow for another ring to go MIA ever again. That is what motivated John to go onto Google and search for some possible help from an expert who recovers lost rings in cars and trucks. And that’s when he came across THE RING FINDER’S article that I had typed up a year earlier.

I was so excited when John called me for assistance in trying to help solve the mystery as to where his ring may have ended up. Because my schedule was so packed at the time of John’s call, I told him that I would try to guide him over the phone to help find the ring. If my efforts from afar still led to no avail, I would personally drive up to Pennsylvania and do the ring recovery myself. He was very grateful for any suggestions as to what he could do to try to find his piece of gold.

I spent a great deal of time asking him about what happened when the ring disappeared. I then inquired as to where he checked already and I also asked him if he checked certain key places that were more obvious spots to cover at the get go.

Once the interview was completed, I then took it from there and gave John a list of places to search before I would have to be brought in to conduct my own investigation if all else failed. My top priority was to have John search all around the steering column of his Outback. We knew that the ring never made it outside of the car. That was a fact which was quite encouraging to deduct. The wedding band had to have come to rest somewhere out of sight after it initially hit something plastic (there was nothing made of metal on the dashboard or around the steering column).

I was pretty convinced that the ring may have traveled down on top of the steering column and then slid behind the rubber flange that protects any dust from getting into the dashboard compartment. From there, the ring could have made its way down and around the side of the steering column. Or, it could have still been hanging out up at the top end of the dashboard just waiting to be discovered. I wanted John to carefully probe those key areas before I would make my way up towards Pennsylvania to use my tools and equipment to start my own search for the missing band. Once I gave John his homework assignment, he thanked me for all of the time that I gave him on the phone and the passion that was emitted from within me, hoping that I could help yet another person find their missing ring inside their vehicle.

I am so happy to report that less than an hour later I received a phone call full of utter excitement and elation from John! He went on to share the most exciting testimony that he had found his wedding band in the very section of the vehicle that I had suspected it was lost in – the steering column! He first checked the upper side of the column just behind the rubber flange that I talked to him about earlier. He carefully placed his finger or something narrow just behind the flange to see if the ring made its way back there. Just as John was pushing forward behind that “rubber curtain”, he heard something fall from the top of the column behind the flange. With the hope that he could discover what this loose piece actually was that fell downward, John pulled back some rubber that protected the lower portion of the steering column from dust buildup and out came his beloved gold wedding band! He couldn’t believe it! He was blown away by the incredible results soon after he finished his conversation with me! The nightmare was over! The mystery was solved! John‘s ring returned once again to his left hand’s ring finger! I had been right all along in regards to my theory that perhaps the ring made its way behind the top of the steering column just waiting to be found by its rightful owner!

I could not have been happier for John as we celebrated on the phone and covered any more details regarding his search and successful recovery of his lost wedding band! It brought me so much gratification to be able to help someone who found me through another article about another missing ring in a Subaru outback which I was able to recover for someone else a year earlier! This is why I love THE RING FINDERS directory and why I appreciate its CEO, Chris Turner of British Columbia, Vancouver Canada! He started this directory over 13 years ago and it has become a source of great importance for thousands of people like John who would not have otherwise recovered their lost treasures without the help and assistance from ring finding experts like myself and hundreds of others around the world!

Before we got off the phone, John thanked me several more times and he told me that he would share with many people about THE RING FINDERS! He said he would forever mention to people how I was able to help him recover something that he felt he would never have seen again had it not been for my assistance. I was quite humbled by his words of kindness and it certainly made my night and well into the days that followed!

How to Find a Lost Gold Ring in Potomac, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Leo’s Exquisite 18 Karat Gold Cartier « Love Ring » Wedding Band Once Again Shining Like the Sun Above the Earth!

Leo of Potomac, Maryland Excitedly Showing Off His Most Treasured Material Possession Minutes After Metal Detectorist and Member of THE RING FINDERS Brian Rudolph Discovers Leo’s Lost Wedding Band!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a gentleman named Leo who lived in Potomac, Maryland who was hoping that I could help him find his lost wedding ring. Three days earlier, Leo had a party in the backyard of his lovely home. A bunch of his guy friends came over for drinks and a delicious steak dinner. Sometime in the middle of the night after the party or perhaps early the next morning, Leo realized that his very handsome 18 karat yellow gold Cartier “Love Ring” wedding band was no longer on his finger.

Leo went out back to his swimming pool patio area and looked everywhere for the missing ring. He then searched throughout the grassy lawn but all of his search efforts led to no avail. He then went to the trash bags that contained all of the throwaway items from the party and analyzed every piece of trash with the hope of finding his lost treasure. Still, he could not find his most precious sentimental keepsake.

After many hours of searching with no positive results, Leo searched online for an answer to his problem. The solution came when he found the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. He searched for a detectorist in his area and my name, Brian Rudolph, popped up. That is when he reached out to me and we immediately set up a time for me to come over later that evening.

When I arrived at Leo and Michelle’s most beautiful Potomac, Maryland estate, I could not have been more excited to be a part of solving the mystery of the missing wedding band. Leo met me in the driveway and escorted me out back to show me all of the places where he walked and partied with his friends several evenings prior to my arrival.

As soon as I got completely oriented around the backyard of this grand estate, I immediately returned to my vehicle to retrieve all of the necessary equipment that I would need to use for the search. Leo returned to the inside of his home as I began grid searching the entire front lawn that was located closest to the mansion on the top side of the backyard (there was a lower level section of the backyard where the swimming pool rested and then more lawn behind the pool and patio).

At first, I wondered why I was getting so much interference coming through my metal detector. No matter where I swung the coil in search of the missing ring, I was getting all kinds of strange beeps and static registering on my machine. I still battled through the terrible distraction but eventually I needed to solve the problem with this particular issue. I had Leo come outside to chat with me and at some point I asked him if he had an electric dog fence. He replied by confirming that he actually did have an electric dog fence buried under the entire perimeter of the yard. I greatly thank Jeff Morgan (THE SEATTLE RING HUNTER), a great ring finder who is also a proud member of THE RING FINDER directory who suggested that there could be an electric fence turned on at this estate. I am so grateful for Jeff’s knowledge and professionalism! Once the fence was turned off, all of the interference disappeared! I was back in business! A big shout out to Jeff in Seattle, Washington!

After finishing the entire front lawn that was closest to the house, I was able to conclude that the gold wedding band was not lost in that section of the backyard. I then started detecting around an enclosed section where the garbage cans were placed. There were also garden hoses and other accessories that I needed to move out of the way to make sure the ring did not get lost in that isolated environment.

When I came up empty-handed inside and around the fenced in area where the trash cans were placed, I searched all along another fence line that was closest to the entrance to the backyard leading from the driveway. I also metal detected in and around a pool shower stall that was adjacent to the other fenced in section where the trash cans were hiding within. Again, I came up with nothing.

At this point I believe I had searched for over three hours and I started to get more curious as to why the ring had not appeared at that point. My next mission was to grid search along the right side of the lawn which was to the right of the swimming pool going down on a decline away from the house. I was meticulous with searching for that Cartier wedding band along that right side of the lawn. Therefore, I was confident that I had not missed even a square inch of that part of the property. There was a stone wall that separated the right side of the lawn and the pool patio and so I stayed along that right side and worked up and down the decline. There was also some sports equipment that was laying out on the grass and I metal detected all around that area, as well. Unfortunately, there was still no ring to be found.

At this point, I was getting close to finishing the fourth hour of metal detecting and I was getting concerned that perhaps Leo may have lost his priceless piece of jewelry somewhere in his gorgeous home. The only areas remaining to be searched happened to be a small grassy area that was near the pool, adjacent to the patio closest to the back wall. In addition, I needed to check inside the pool and around the sides where the grass met the concrete slab that surrounded the pool. One thing that I learned long ago as a young ring finder and that was: there is always hope until the search is completely done and finished! Until then, you keep pressing on! And that’s what I did!

I metal detected all around the perimeter of the pool without positive results. I scanned with my eyes all around the inside of the pool, hoping that perhaps the yellow gold had somehow rolled from the patio into the heated water. Again, my efforts lead to no avail. I just could not figure out what could have happened to this poor ring!

The Very End of the Stone Wall Where Rudolph Was Finishing Up the Four-Plus Hours of Searching

The Rim of Rudolph’s Metal Detector Coil Picks Up a Faint Choppy Signal Right at the Bottom Where the Stone Met the Grass

Just after detecting the edge of the lawn that met up with the pool’s concrete slab, I made my way over to the grassy area that was closest to the patio stone wall where I had been detecting the right side of the lawn earlier. I was now coming to a complete circle in my search efforts and it was looking like I was going to have to call it quits moments later. However, then something wonderful happened! Just as I was finishing one of my last swings with the detector right along the end of the stone wall that separated the side yard from the pool patio, my detector gave me a signal worth looking into. It was faint and choppy but it still got me curious. Just as I was kneeling down to get a better look at what the edge of my machine’s coil was faintly picking up, my eyes locked in on something shiny, resembling a yellow gold color that was wedged down in the ground between the outer edge of the stone wall and where the grass began. With my headlamp blazing above me, I focused in on that very spot and lo and behold, there it was! Leo’s Cartier « love ring » wedding band! It had slid off of its owners finger sometime during the party and made its way into a crevice that was located between the far end of the stone wall and the luscious grassy lawn! I found the ring! At the very last second or so of my long four-plus hours of searching, I was able to recover Leo’s precious keepsake! I could not have been happier for Leo! When I finally revealed the good news with my client, I showed him where I found the ring and he could not believe it! Of all places! The ring took off in a certain direction as it traveled airborne off of Leo’s finger and it just happened to end up in that very crevice – that little space where the eye would not have been able to naturally lock-in on that place where it was hiding! Leo was so blown away by my find and was finally relieved knowing that his precious ring had returned to his finger once more! He could not have been any more grateful for my diligence and long-suffering!

Notice the Wedding Band Wedged in the Crevice Just Between the Stone and Grass

Notice How Close the Stone Wall was Positioned to the Patio Where Leo and His Friends Were Partying the Night of the Missing Ring!

While Leo and I began to celebrate the great discovery, we could hear one of the mansion’s windows open up on the top level and Leo’s wife Michelle let out the most excited cheer for what I was able to accomplish that evening! She was so happy and most grateful for my work! The two of them were so very kind with their words and generosity, as well! I kept telling them how honored I was to have been called in to try to solve this mystery!

After saying our goodbyes, I drove back down the estate’s driveway and onto the street. As I looked back at that beautiful home, it brought so much joy to my heart as I thought about how I successfully helped birth two new smiles for the couple that I had just said goodbye to, knowing that such a special ring was returned to Leo’s finger! I truly love what I do and I absolutely love the people I do it for! What a night that was!

He was in the backyard of his uncle’s house playing with the kids when he realized that his beloved wedding ring was no longer on his finger. He searched for several hours including raking up all of the leaves that were on the ground with the hope that the handsome halo would magically appear. Unfortunately, all of Ash’s efforts led to no avail and in the end he was quite perplexed and frustrated with not finding the irreplaceable ring.

Just as Ash was about to surf online for a local metal detecting service to help him with the search, he remembered reading a recent Twitter feed by famous actor Jon Cryer of the television show called Two and a Half Men. While Mr. Cryer was filming Supergirl up in Vancouver, Canada, he lost his own wedding band while taking a stroll on his day off. He contacted THE RING FINDER’S founder and CEO, Chris Turner, who lives close to where the ring was lost, and he miraculously found the actor’s wedding band in the most unlikely place. Mr. Cryer immediately tweeted the story of how Mr. Turner had found his ring! Following his incredible account of how his wedding band was returned to his finger, thousands around the world began reading about the elite international metal detectorist directory and Chris Turner’s amazing recovery of Cryer’s lost ring. Like a stone that is thrown into a pool of water, the ripple effect took place where hundreds of Cryer followers on Twitter began reaching out to ring finders throughout the world! As mentioned above, upon reading Cryer’s tweet, Ash did the very same thing by reaching out to me for help.

As soon as Ash looked me up on THE RING FINDER’S website, he sent me an email which I quickly responded to soon after I saw the notification come through to my phone. This led to a phone conversation about the lost ring and we immediately set up an appointment for me to come out to his uncle’s place around 7:30 AM the next morning.

At 6:45 AM the next day, I was in the car driving to Ash’s uncle’s house located in Vienna, Virginia. As soon as I arrived, Ash greeted me and we both took a walk to the backyard where he was pretty convinced his ring had slipped off of his finger. I could see the pile of leaves that Ash had raked up when he was searching for the missing band the previous day. He then showed me all of the places in the yard that he had been walking around and I took note of all of the possibilities of where the ring could have fallen in the grass. It was a fairly large backyard, but in my mind I compartmentalized the different sections that I needed to search and I prioritized the order of what areas would receive the most attention upon starting the search. After I finished all of my questions, I returned back to my vehicle where I got out all my necessary equipment and returned once again to the backyard to begin the search and recovery effort.

The first section that I began to metal detect was located around a trampoline that was set up towards the left side of the yard. There were metal legs that I needed to search around and I was very careful to make sure that I did not miss any real estate that was situated near the metal poles. Once I cleared the parameter of where the trampoline was located, I moved closer and closer to the center of the yard where I created grid lanes for me to follow across the property for approximately 10 minutes or so. Unfortunately, I did not hit any potential target signals during that time of detecting and so I moved my search to the next area which was to swing my machine around and on top of the leaf pile that Ash had gathered up the day before.

Even though my client didn’t find his priceless keepsake upon exerting much effort with raking up all of the leaves and debris that may have covered up the ring, I have enough experience to never discount the possibility that a fairly large men’s ring could still have escaped the eyes of its owner. Therefore, I made sure to swing my metal detector over the entire area that Ash had primarily focused on. Because my client concluded that the ring was not in the parameter of where he gathered up all of the leaves with his rake, he was thinking that perhaps the band slipped off his finger and traveled on a 45° angle behind him. I was quite impressed with his theory that he may have lost his favorite jewel on the back swing motion because most of my clients would never consider that that could even be a possibility. I planned on investigating the area behind the gathered up leaf and debris pile if I failed to recover the ring underneath or around that consolidated mountain of autumn’s remaining leftovers.

As it turned out, just a minute or two after I swung my coil over the leaf and debris pile, I hit a beautiful target signal coming from one of the clusters of gathered-up leaves. The tone that I was getting from the mystery object sounded perfect to my ears! There was a certain bounce to the target signal that pretty much convinced me that I had found Ash’s lost platinum wedding band! During this search segment, my client was in his uncle’s house visiting his family. This gave me the perfect opportunity to quickly get down on my knees and inspect the target signal without Ash seeing me search the curious piece of metal (I wanted to surprise him if I indeed found what I was looking for). I immediately took out my handheld detector called a pinpointer which helped me to close-in on the exact spot of where the target was hiding. As I cleared the leaves and grass out of the way, there it was – Ash’s extremely handsome and sentimental piece of platinum! It had been buried under the leaves the whole time, just waiting for me to find it and return the sentimental jewel back to its rightful owner! I could not have been happier for my client, and I was even more delighted to surprise Ash with my encouraging find! The gentleman could not have been more grateful for my successful search efforts! The moment I revealed the prize find, we both celebrated together in Ash’s uncle’s backyard, right at the very place where he had spent all of those hours searching for one of his most priceless life possessions!

I love helping people recover their lost symbols of love and there’s not a search that I don’t enjoy the process of doing everything possible to return what is impossible for someone else to find! Ash’s platinum wedding band is certainly no exception to that passionate mandate that I live out day after day…search after search…recovery after recovery!

Lost Diamond and Sapphire Wedding Band…Found on Ocean City, Maryland Parking Lot

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Katie’s Beautiful Wedding Band Found in the Middle of the Ocean City, Maryland USPS Parking Lot!

Katie Beaming with Happiness as the Young Bride Displays the Once « Missing in Action » Platinum Diamond and Blue Sapphire Wedding Band!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Rings that end up lost after an argument or fight between couples are not uncommon scenarios. As a professional ring finder, I experience these situations quite often. Just as I was getting in the car from a very early morning successful search and recovery of a lost men’s platinum wedding band in Vienna, Virginia, I received a call from a young lady named Katie who was distraught about the loss of her platinum wedding band made with baguette diamonds and round blue sapphires. She was calling me near the beach in Ocean City, Maryland.

The first question that I generally ask my clients is this: Was there any stress experienced between you and someone else that may have been the cause for losing the ring? I follow it up with: Was it thrown due to anger and anxiety? I like to ask these questions up front because this way I can get to the heart of the story, and I don’t put my clients in the position of possibly being tempted to be dishonest with me because of feeling embarrassed by what ensued prior to the request for help. 100% of the time when there is a “ring throw” involved, my clients feel so much better that I ask these questions up front because then they realize that they are not alone and that this is more common than they previously thought. Because I addressed these questions with Katie, she felt very comfortable to come clean with the truth and she in turn shared that her missing wedding band was a result of a ring throw.

Here is what happened the night before I received Katie’s cry for help. Katie and her husband Chris took a weekend trip to Ocean City, Maryland to celebrate their anniversary. On the second night of fun, they left their hotel and walked a few blocks down Route 1 (Coastal Hwy) to dine and party the night away. Some time after midnight, the two began walking back to their hotel from the very popular Ocean City bar and restaurant called The Big Pecker. During their short stroll towards the hotel, the couple ended up in an argument which got pretty heated. The initial celebration over there blissful years of marriage ended up in a distressful argument which got carried over to a post office parking lot (very close to The Big Pecker).

At some point, just like many other instances that I could share with my readers, Katie took off her rings and in anger she threw them at Chris who was standing about 25 feet away from his wife. Like I said, this type of situation is not unusual and all of us ring finders who are on the elite metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS have all experienced searching for rings that were lost as a result of a fight or heated argument. Even some of my readers can personally identify with this exact scenario that these two were dealing with.

Luckily, Chris was able to find the diamond engagement ring after the couple set aside their differences to begin searching for the rings. For over two hours Kristie and Chris looked with desperation for the wedding band. However, by four in the morning, it still remained missing in action! At some point they finally gave up and returned back to their hotel room.

A few hours later, Katie woke up and returned to the dreaded parking lot where the rings were lost and she continued her search for her beloved platinum wedding band with baguette diamonds and blue sapphires. After another hour or so of scouring the concrete and sections of grass that separated the parking lot, Katie looked online to get some help and that’s when she found the elite international metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS. She then did a location search and found that I, Brian Rudolph, provides metal detecting services in Ocean City, Maryland. It was at that point that she got on the phone and called me for help.

As I drove the three hours to the East Coast shoreline, I was extremely excited to help Katie in recovering this lost ring that meant so very much to her. Every precious keepsake has a story and every happy story should never have an ending. I wanted to bring a smile back to the young lady’s face and to her beloved husband Chris, as well. I didn’t mind the long travel to the beach because I was on a mission to restore some happiness for the couple. I believe I arrived at the United States Postal Service parking lot on Coastal Highway in Ocean City, Maryland just a little bit before noon time.

Katie was waiting for me and after we introduced ourselves to one another, we immediately got to work with reviewing the area where she was standing when she threw the two rings. She took me over to the far right corner of the front side of the post office building. She faced the parking lot on a particular angle and then she used her right hand to demonstrate how she threw the rings into the lot towards Chris. I asked her questions such as: 1. How fast do you think you threw the rings? 2. How much did you have to drink prior to reaching that spot where you ended up arguing? 3. How much do you remember of the account that took place? 4. I asked her where Chris ended up finding the engagement ring so I could determine the particular angle as to where the other ring may have ended up. 5. I also inquired about how much traffic was coming into the parking lot earlier that morning (just in case a tire could have picked up the wedding band and carried it off from the parking lot onto Coastal Highway). She said there were only a few cars here and there that were coming in to drop off mail that Sunday morning. Once I finished with all of the fact-finding, I returned to my vehicle where I retrieved my metal detector and other gear to help me with this search.

My first goal was to examine the concrete and see if I could visually spot the missing band. With rings that look silver in color, it is quite difficult to eyeball a platinum or white gold band due to how it blends in with most concrete parking lots and streets. You have to carefully look and then focus in again just to make sure that you didn’t miss anything. I wanted to secure most of the parking lot area just in case a car might run over it or carry it down the street if it had not already been taken away. The piece of jewelry was certainly vulnerable to moving vehicles if it wasn’t hidden in the grass. I did not swing the detector over those areas at the time, but I did carefully look over the concrete just to see if I could possibly locate the ring lying on the cement. Unfortunately, I came away with no positive results. I did in fact find a penny that Katie and I both missed seeing it at first after we were looking in the same area at two separate time periods. I used it as a sign of encouragement to her with the fact that your eyes can play tricks on you. Therefore, we cannot trust what we are initially seeing and we needed to keep looking over and over again even if we came up empty handed at first.

During the first hour, I metal detected a strip of grass that was like a divider between one part of the parking lot and the other section of the property. I wanted to make sure that the wedding band did not bounce off of the concrete and ended up in that section of grass that separated the lot. There was quite a bit of metal to study as my detector kept beeping here, there and just about everywhere! After a good 25 minutes or so, I concluded that the ring did not end up in that small section where there was some grass, weeds, and bushes.

Next, I searched a grassy section with a few bushes that were located to the right of where Katie threw the rings (if one is facing the building). This area was situated between the right side of the parking lot and to the left of the adjacent property next to the Postal Service building. My thought was that it was possible that the ring could have ricocheted off of the concrete and bounced over to the grassy section off to the side of the lot. I have found rings that ended up behind where the client threw the ring(s), as well as landing dramatically to the left or to the right of where the client was standing. Therefore, I don’t discount any possibilities when it comes to searching for missing rings!

I may have spent over an hour on that far right side of the post office building searching for the missing keepsake. At some point, Katie left to go get some lunch and offered me something to eat and drink. I took her up on the drink and while she was gone I kept searching that whole area next to the edge of the concrete parking lot. Sadly, I was not able to locate the ring anywhere in that vicinity. When Katie returned, I gave her an update as to all of the places where I had detected prior to her leaving.

Earlier on, one could see Katie’s hopeful spirit shine through her being and she was extremely positive and encouraged about the possibility of finding the ring. However, as time marched on, I could tell that Katie began to get concerned and full of doubt that she would ever see her beloved wedding band again. I encouraged the young bride over and over again that we were not going to give up and that we would keep looking until we covered every square inch of that property! I also told her that it sometimes takes hours upon hours to find a missing item and that we still had plenty of real estate to search and re-search.

About two and half hours into my detecting time, I was just about to wrap up the last section of the right side of the parking lot where the ring could have fallen under a bush or a small tree. There were so many little pieces of garbage that I needed to remove first before I could make certain that the ring was not being masked by miscellaneous metal. It was at that point that Katie asked me what she could do to help in the search efforts. I specifically encouraged her to keep looking with me and to return to the middle of the parking lot where we were visually searching (not with a detector) earlier that afternoon. Again, I told her that the mind and the eyes sometimes don’t work in tandem with each other and it was quite possible that the ring just wasn’t spotted by either one of us when we looked over the parking lot initially. I also mentioned that my next strategy would be for me to use my 15 inch coil at the end of my detector and grid search every inch of that middle section of the parking lot. I wanted to make certain that we did not miss searching any of that concrete.

Before I would start that next phase mentioned above, I wanted to first finish my detecting along the edge of the concrete before laying down the grid lines in the middle of the lot. Again, I encouraged Katie to keep scanning with her eyes all along the center area of the parking lot. She respectfully agreed, but I could tell she had a lot of doubt that a “re-look” was not going to do any good since we both had already covered that section with our two sets of eyes. I remember saying to her, “Katie, we have prayed together and all kinds of miracles have taken place during my searches. You can walk right over there and look straight down and God can allow your eyes to adjust and focus in on the very spot where the ring has been lying the entire time – just like the penny we found earlier!” She smiled and thanked me for the testimonials and encouragement that I was giving her regarding not giving up and to start searching visually again in the middle of the parking lot.

No more than a couple of minutes after Katie walked over to the middle of the parking lot did I hear her scream and yell over to me, “Brian, Brian, you’re never going to believe it!” I turned my head over towards Katie and she pointed down at something that was resting on the parking lot pavement! Her face lit up like a Christmas tree and I immediately rushed over to see if she in fact had found her precious keepsake! I just knew it had to be the ring! Sure enough, as I looked down towards Katie’s feet, my eyes beheld the most beautiful platinum ring full of diamonds and blue sapphires! Katie did exactly what I encouraged her to do when she discovered the band! The moment that her eyes literally pointed straight down to the concrete, it was if the ring had magically appeared out of thin air! She couldn’t believe it! The very miracle that we prayed for and that I encouraged her to hope for literally, translated into a true reality of amazement for both of us! We both were just blown away by what Katie had just discovered! She thanked me over and over again for encouraging her to not give up and to refocus and trust my words. We also thanked God above for guiding Katie to the very spot where the ring was found! The stunned young lady repeated to me what I had shared with her earlier regarding how the mind and eyes have to be in one accord in order for one to visually spot the missing item! Katie excitedly said, “It really is true! You were right about what you explained to me! Thank you Brian! Thank you so much!” Even as Katie picked up the ring, she was still in disbelief! I was so happy to witness the moment that the wedding band was safely slipped back onto Katie’s finger, as well as viewing the precious tears of joy that ran down both of her cheeks!

It turned out that cars had been driving over the ring all morning long as they were coming in to drop off mail and those that parked in order to pick up P.O. Box deliveries! Miraculously, no car tires touched the beautiful keepsake! There was no damage on the piece of jewelry and Katie was completely dumbfounded by the fact that neither she, Chris or myself did not see the ring the whole time! Though I was confident that we would have eventually found the band with the metal detector shortly after completing the area that I had been working on, I was humbly reminded by this search and recovery example that I should have started with metal detecting over the concrete parking lot before doing a visual search! I could have saved myself plenty of time by simply grid searching the lot first before going to the other areas that I examined following the visual scan. That recovery project became a very important learning experience for me in dealing with similar searches in the months ahead.

Katie was so overjoyed that she gave me a holy hug and thanked me profusely! Soon, she would share the great news with Chris who had been packing up their things back at the hotel! The relieved young lady was finally reunited with the piece of precious metal and stones that were once placed on her finger on that very special day when she and Chris finally “tied the knot”! When the love of Katie’s life arrived at the parking lot, the couple was reunited in spirit and joy as the nightmare was finally over for the two of them! Happiness and peace was restored to the couple and one could easily see the love that was emitted from their countenances!

I was so happy to be a part of this search and recovery effort and Katie wholeheartedly believed that had I not traveled the three hours to the beach to help with the search, she felt that she and Chris would have left Ocean City without the ring. We all gave thanks to the Lord when Chris arrived and the three of us gave glory to the One who led Katie to the very spot where the ring was recovered!

I love the stories that I end up being a part of and I am so proud to be a member of THE RING FINDERS! Every member of this very special international metal detectorist directory love helping countless people become reunited with their lost treasures! It means so very much to those whom we serve every day! Just like with Katie’s platinum wedding band, her world turned wonderful again by having her jewel back on her finger and having Chris’ hand back within her own grasp once again!

Ring Finder Searches for Lost Gold Tantalum Wedding Ring…Found in Arlington, Virginia

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Chris’ 14 Karat Yellow Gold and Tantalum Inlay Wedding Band Found After Hours Lost in the Arlington, Virginia Backyard!

Linda and Chris’ Smiles Illuminate the Darkness as the Couple Display Chris’ Handsome Gold and Tantalum Wedding Band!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, SNOW, LEAVES, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

While I was in the middle of a search for a lost ring in Washington DC, I received a phone call from a couple who lived in Arlington, Virginia. They wondered if I had any time to come out to their property to search for a missing wedding band. Chris and Linda had only been married for a year and two months when Chris’ 14 karat yellow gold wedding band with tantalum inlay disappeared somewhere on their property earlier that day.

The couple shared with me that Chris knew that the ring was on his finger while they were hosting a get-together in the backyard with some friends of theirs. Apparently, the band had slipped off of his finger once before that same afternoon, but he realized that he was about to lose the precious band and quickly returned it to his finger for safekeeping – at least that is what he thought was best to do. Not thinking that the ring was going to go “missing in action” hours later, while Chris was taking a plate over to one of his guests, he pulled his hand out of his jacket pocket and realized that his ring was no longer on his finger. He checked the jacket thoroughly but it was not to be found. During the rest of the afternoon into the evening hours, everyone scoured the grass on their hands and knees as well as used their smartphone’s flashlights to investigate the property, hoping to find Chris’s most sentimental keepsake. Unfortunately, Chris, Linda and the rest of the gang had no luck in recovering the ring.

Instead of renting a metal detector, Linda discovered the elite international directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. She was googling how to rent a metal detector and the THE RING FINDER’S website page popped up on the screen. She figured that she would allow a professional to help the two of them find the ring rather than attempt to conduct the search themselves. It was at that stage when I received their call for help and I was more than excited to schedule a visit later that evening.

Sometime before 9 p.m., I arrived at the couple’s Arlington, Virginia house where I was first greeted by Chris and Linda out by the sidewalk. Immediately, I bonded with the two of them just by how sweet and personable the two of them were. Once I got my gear together, they shared a recap of how the ring disappeared and where they believed it had slipped off of Chris’s finger earlier that day. The three of us took a walk to the backyard and the couple showed me where they were hosting their friends for the majority of the time. Linda purposefully left all of the furniture exactly where it was when their friends were hanging out with them just so that they could give me an accurate account as to where everyone was eating and fellowshipping.

Once I got all of the facts together, I started up my metal detector, paired up the headphones and got busy with the search. The yard was medium in size, so it wouldn’t take that many hours to detect the entire backyard if necessary. Though Chris indicated that he did go over to the fence at some point (which was maybe 30 feet from where they were hanging out with their friends), I thought it was best to first check the area of the grass where there was more foot traffic. If I didn’t find the wedding band in that general location, I would then stretch my search farther away from that epicenter.

Within approximately two minutes of starting the search, I picked up a very promising target signal that sounded exactly what I was looking for. When I looked at the detector screen, it indicated the number range that was definitely a sequence that I was hoping to pick up in my detecting headphones. I knelt down to investigate the object in question and just as I placed my pinpointer (a handheld detector) over the section where the detector picked up the metal to isolate the exact location of the item, I immediately identified the metallic target as the 14 karat yellow gold ring with tantalum inlay wrapped around it! I did in fact find the lost wedding band! It certainly was a very handsome ring that was about to be reunited with its rightful owner! I could not have been happier for Chris and Linda as this ring meant so very much to the two of them! Minutes after my discovery, upon the reveal of the ring found, two new smiles were formed on the faces of both Chris and Linda! The couple was beyond excited and very much relieved of their stress and regrets! Before I said goodnight, the three of us celebrated my successful search and recovery of Chris’s gold tantalum wedding band right there in the same spot where he sadly lost it just hours earlier that day!
