LOST LARGE SILVER RING IN CLEAR LAKE ……FOUND!!!
For generations Bethany’s family have lived on a modest lake in the Medical Lake area. They have enjoyed swimming, fishing and boating with every family get together. During a brief swim, Bethany was helping her young niece practice her swimming. With a quick arm stroke Bethany’s niece reached frantically towards Bethany’s hand. As her niece’s tiny hand gripped on to Bethany’s fingers a large silver ring Bethany was wearing slipped off. With panic and haste Bethany called for her husband who was watching all this unfold, she said « dive in after the ring ». Unfortunately, the large silver ring had other ideas and sank quickly. There’s an idea that rings have the ability to sink slowly in water. However, the only thing floating away is the idea of seeing the ring ever again. Never fear, I said as Bethany finished telling me her story. I am the avenger of the lost, the catcher of the thrown, the digger of the buried. I am Luke The Ring Finder. There was a slight pause and then Bethany said on the phone « so can you help me find my ring »? I answered yes and made plans to go diving for it after work. When I arrived at the lake the wind was whipping and making waves as I set up my diving gear. I was instructed to search four to five feet from the edge of the dock. As I descended into the murky water the silt swallowed me up. I could barely see my gauges and had a hard time keeping my heading. Nevertheless, after a few adjustments I got a high tone signal on my detector. Reaching through my coil to grab the item I fought with the weeds and silt. Their grip on the target was strong, but I tamed the beast and acquired my loot. The object in my hand was round with a hole in the middle. I had to bring it up to my mask to verify if it was Bethany’s ring. Alas it was missing the large stone that Bethany had told me her ring had on it. The hunt was still on for Bethany’s ring. While I am searching for a ring under water, I come back up to the surface to check in with the owner. I ask if my position is right or if they would like me to move somewhere else. This adjustment in my position by the owner has resulted in me finding the ring. When I came back up to ask Bethany if she liked where I was searching, she asked me to search more to the right of my current search grid. As I sunk back down into the murky water I grabbed hold of my anchor. Searching to the right of my position I reached as far right as I could to without moving my anchor. At the very apex of my swing, I got a tone. I slightly move up and to the right to get a better stance over the target. A second sweep of my coil gave me another tone, but it overloaded the coil. As I centered my coil over the target I reached through the coil and grabbed hold of another item with a hole in it. However, this item had a large oblong shape on top of the ring. I brought the ring up to my face to confirm what I was feeling, and I could see the large white stone Bethany had told me about. I found Bethanys ring. Filling up my BCD I slowly floated back up to the buoy. Bethany saw me come out of the water and looked at me with anticipation in her eyes. I tried to play a little trick on her with the ring on my finger I asked if she wanted me to search closer to the dock. It was hard to hide her ring on my finger so as she saw the ring she smiled and giggled with joy. » He Found It » she said to her family that was on the dock. Heading back to my car with all my scuba gear, Bethany’s family congratulated me one by one. A ring lost tears at the heart making it yearn. A ring found repairs the heart and restores happiness.
