Successful Lost Ring Recovery Emerald Bay, Laguna Beach, CA.  By Ringfinders Member .. Call Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** Lenna’s mother called me after learning her daughter had just lost a gold and diamond ring in the sand. The loss happened just minutes before calling me. Lenna was at Emerald Bay In Laguna Beach, CA. They made arrangements for me to get access to the private beach and I was on my way. It’s a 5 mile drive for me.

When I arrived we still had some daylight to make the search a bit easier. Lenna showed me an area near the picnic tables which had some metal trash to sort through with my detector. The petite gold ring was in my scoop a few minutes after beginning the search.

The whole group at the beach party celebrated. Everyone was camera shy so you get a pic of me holding the ring. I sent photo of the ring to her mother who replied telling me how much that ring meant to both her and her daughter as it was a recent graduation gift.

… Steve called me for help finding his Platinum wedding band. Lost in the sand near the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA. He said his friends were coming with a metal detector they purchased from a local sporting goods shop.

I told him that it would be more than an hour till I could meet him on the beach. It would be dark but, if they stayed in the location it shouldn’t take long to find his ring. I only asked if he found it before I got there, please call me. Otherwise I will be there as soon as possible. Los Angeles freeways are unpredictable when it comes to traffic delays.

I arrived at 8pm in the darkness. They showed me where Steve was standing when the ring slipped off his finger. Turn on my detector and take a few swings ,BINGO.. Platinum ring in my sand scoop.

Every one was happy and they all learned that it isn’t easy to work a metal detector they had purchased at the store.

**** April takes care of three young boys between the ages of 4 and 7 years of age. Lately she hasn’t been able to let them play in the backyard because it is littered with hazardous metallic items. They even recently found a sharp knife in a planter.

April called me asking if I could help her remove remove sharp metallic items from a backyard play area. Besides having a metal detector, I also have a magnetic sweeper on wheels that I could use to retrieve the surface ferrous metals.I wasn’t sure how large or what conditions I would be dealing with but I was able to use the magnetic sweeper to save a lot of unnecessary bending down. Then finished off the search with my metal detector retrieving other metals 2”- 3” depth.

They were very relieved to see the nails, screws and other pieces of metal removed from the play area.

It’s always a challenge to use new equipment to help do a task like this. Last time I did a yard clean up, it took me two 3 hour sessions using my metal detector and pinpointer.

It wasn’t the same as returning a sentimental piece of jewelry. I was happy to know that April and the mother of the boys had a little peace of mind knowing that the boys have a safer place to play.

Lost Car Key Fobs at Aliso Beach California.. Found

***** Joshua and his wife took a short trip from their home to Aliso Beach to watch the sunset over the ocean. Aliso Beach is part of the Orange County parks system located in south Laguna Beach. They were only there for less than an hour which was long enough for his wife to lose her set of 2 car key fobs.

They didn’t realize the keys were missing until they arrived home. Joshua returned to the beach to see if he could find them with no success.

He was able to call me asking if I was available to help. He was assuming that we could meet the next morning. After finding out that the items lost were the expensive key fobs, I told him it would be best if we could meet as soon as possible. It would be about 8pm which would give me two hours to search before the beach closes. It would not be necessary for him to stay.

Joshua and I met in the well lighted parking lot at exactly 8pm.. We walked across to the sand discussing where and what happened to cause the loss of the keys.

When we passed the trash receptacle next to a lamp post, we spotted the keys on top of the trash box.

I didn’t have to turn on my detector and it was a successful search. This is common with keys found by others at the beach here In SoCal. People find keys, etc. and put them on lifeguard towers, posts, walls, near exits of the beach. Unfortunately sometimes others take them for various reasons.

It was a cool evening so we glad that everything went well and we were both home  within an hour of Joshua’s call..
