Lost White Gold Cartier Love Ring at Four Seasons Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a voicemail last night from Ronnie who was on vacation from Vallejo, California and staying at the Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina.  While enjoying the cool water of the lagoon at some point his recently purchased White Gold Cartier Love Ring came off and he only noticed when he got back to his room.  He tried looking for it but the waters were stirred up and impossible to see.  Four Seasons Security convinced him I would come out and hunt the ring for him as he had been a bit hesitant at first.  I immediately called Ronnie and agreed to come out after work the next afternoon.  Ronnie gave me all the details I needed to start the hunt.  The tide and surf was up but I was in the most protected area off the lagoon so the hunt was relatively easy.  I found a few foil targets then on about the 7th leg of my grid I got a booming tone on the Manticore.  Surprisingly,  it took three scoops to recover the ring in belly depth water.  I went back to my car and texted Ronnie a pic of his ring then followed up with a call.  We met down buy the beach attendants booth for the return.  A few handshakes and hugs and Ronnie was so relieved his vacation was saved.  Aloha to Ronnie!

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Kailua Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Pansa who lives in Kaimuki near me on Oahu.  Her text said, « Aloha, I just lost a ring at Kailua beach.  Would you be able to search for it? »  I asked if it was in the sand or water?  She said, « It would have been in the sand but the tide came up by the time I got back. »  Kailua tide surges are known to swallow rings.  It was getting dark so I told Pansa I would go at first light in the morning and if she could meet me there it would help.  Unfortunately, she had prior commitments so she sent me detailed pics as to where she was when the ring went missing.  It was in her shorts and towel and must have fallen out when she picked them up.  When I arrived the next morning I called Pansa to confirm the location which was spot on.  She said she was at the high tide mark where the sand had about a six inch cut.  My fear was the overnight high tide might have consumed the ring.  I started my hunt and worked the high tide cut.  About three minutes into the hunt I finally got a nice target and low and behold,  it was Pansa’s gorgeous ring in the scoop.  Thank you Jesus!  This doesn’t happen very often.  I texted Pansa a pic and gave her a call to confirm.  We agreed, since we were practically neighbors, she would swing by this evening for the return.  A smile & a hug!  Aloha to Pansa!

Lost Gold & Diamonds Sentimental Ring at Magic island Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text at work asking if I could find a ring at the waters edge at Magic Island beach.  I called the number and AJ from the San Francisco area and on vacation on Oahu answered.  I told him I would leave work early and head over since it wasn’t in deep water.  In fact, it was supposed to be ankle deep.  As I was enroute I got a call from our fellow ring finder Kai saying he was on the freeway as AJ had called him too.  Kai was kind enough to give the hunt to me as I was near the access to Magic Island.  When I arrived I met AJ on the beach and he showed me where in the water the ring should be.  I hunted and expanded the grid search out in every direction.  No ring.  I had to leave for a PT session for my shoulder and told AJ I’d see about coming back or getting someone else.  My PT session went rather quickly so when I finished I went back to rehunt and expand the grid further.  I went out further and up the slope into the dry sand.  It paid off.  Up in the dry sand I got a booming #49 on the Manticore and on the second scoop there was AJ’s sentimental ring from his Father in the scoop.  I called AJ and he was at the Hilton Hawaiian Village pool next beach over so he decided to walk over and retrieve the special ring.  A few hugs and handshakes later AJ said his vacation was now saved.  Aloha to AJ!

Lost Platinum Tiffany & Co. Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began as I was headed home from work, when I got a call from Tyler who was on a Anniversary vacation in Waikiki from San Jose, California.  He had just erected a tent sun shade on Waikiki Beach and then realized his Tiffany & Co, Platinum Wedding Band was no longer on his finger.  I told him I would grab my gear at home, then park at the zoo and head down to the Waikiki Beach search area.  Tyler met me at the Duke Kahanamoku statue and we walked to the area of the beach where the ring was lost.  Tyler’s lovely wife Annie had been holding the spot under the sun shade and helped us move all the beach items from the search area.  I fired up the Manticore and commenced the search.  There were a few targets and of course we dig it all so as to be sure the desired target isn’t masked.  A few pieces of foil and a pull tab were detected then a solid Platinum tone on the beast and as I moved some sand with the coil Tyler’s ring came into view.  I leaned over and grabbed the Platinum Ring and handed it to Tyler.  An obvious sigh of relief was the expression on his face.   A few hugs and thank yous to cap off the saved vacation.  Aloha to Tyler & Annie!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band at Wheeler Army Air Forces Base…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Army Specialist Jay who while doing his physical training run, went to give his oncoming fellow soldier a high five and his Tungsten Wedding  ring flew off into the grass along the path and disappeared.  I agreed to head home at lunch grab my gear and come to the base to search.  We agreed 1:30 would work.  We met in the parking lot nearest the Main Gate and got into my vehicle to go to the ring loss area nearby.  Jay walked with me along the path and checked each of the targets in the grass to save time.  We did the side away from the road first thinking that would be the direction of launch after the High-Five!  No ring found.  Then we did the side toward the road.  About 5 minutes into that side I got a nice tone and perfect dot on the Manticore.  We both looked down and could see the ring lying in the short grass.  Jay was obviously relieved and even thought about buying a metal detector himself.  Welcome to the adventure!  Aloha to Jay!

Lost Yellow Gold, Moss Agate & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Battery Hawkins Beach HickamAFB…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Taylor which read, « I’m in need of a ring finder!  My husband lost my ring at the beach on Hickam AFB. »  I immediately called and Taylor told me the story how her and her husband were spending the day at the beach with their dogs and after putting her Yellow Gold, Moss Agate & Diamonds Engagement Ring in a beach bag she discovered at the end of the day when they got back to their vehicle, the ring was no longer in the beach bag.  The dogs had pulled over a beach chair the bag was on a few times and they believed it may have fallen out then.  They purchased a metal detector at a local store and all of you detectorists know they don’t perfom very well.  They only found trash targets.  We agreed to meet in 30 minutes at the beach.  When we got to the spot a family was occupying the area but graciously moved their chairs & items so I could hunt.  I fired up the Manticore and my first target was solid.  After several scoops I looked in the scoop and saw a gorgeous ring but Taylor told me she thought the ring was white gold.  But in fact this was her ring.  Everyone was so shocked how quickly I was able to recover Taylor’s ring.  Taylor’s husband Alan was no longer in the « doghouse » so to speak.  Aloha to Taylor & Alan!

Lost Titanium & Gold Wedding Band at Nai’a Lagoon…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began as I was just finishing up taking a shower after a successful hunt at Nai’a Lagoon when a young lady asked if I could find a wedding ring?  I asked,  Did you lose one?  and she pointed and said, « No, my friend Carlos did in the lagoon. »  I asked Carlos if if could describe the ring?  Yes, he did exactly and I handed him his Titanium & Gold wedding band.  Everyone was in shock and started asking questions like where & when & how.  After a few handshakes and hugs we went back to my car to get a pic for Aloha Security.  Vacation saved!  Aloha to Carlos & friends!

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Lanikai Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Avery who was on vacation from Orange County, California and enjoying the day at Lanikai Beach.  So her mom Julia had taken off her rings to apply sunscreen on her and her sister Kindle.  When she finished and moved to another area on the beach they must have fallen out of her dress.  I told them I would pack my gear and head over but they had already left the beach.  They turned around and decided they would wait at the beach for me so they could show the area to hunt.  Lanikai is quite an extensive beach.  When I arrived I was blessed to get the first spot near the beach access as a car was leaving.  That never happens!  Since losing the ring earlier in the day the tide had come up and the area was now wet but the surf was calm.  Julia drew a box in the sand and I started a grid search.  No ring.  She called Kindle & Avery over and they thought I should be hunting more to the North.  I started way farther down the beach and worked my way back.  Found a brand new nickel which I thought would be the ring.  Then finally in wet sand I got a nice #7 on the Manticore.  In one scoop there was Julia’s stunning ring in the scoop with a huge diamond glistening in the sunlight.  She was obviously overwhelmed,  I think she was holding back tears.  There were two more rings in this loss but an expanding grid search they never came up.  I went all the way to the waters edge and low tide mark but no luck.  We guess those may have been eyeballed by someone earlier in the day as Julia and her girls went to a different area of the beach before they realized the rings were gone.  They are platinum with diamonds around one of them if someone can come forward with them that would be awesome.  Julia was obviously pleased to have her diamond ring back on her finger.  Aloha to Julia, Avery & Kindle!

Lost Sentimental Gold & Silver Bracelets at Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Bracelet hunt began when I got a text from Fahema who lives on Oahu.  She asked, « Aloha, may you please help me find my bracelets that i lost in Ko’ Olina?  It would be greatly appreciated. »  Fahema wasn’t positive, but imagined the only place could be in Ulua Lagoon as she took a dip to cool off after playing volleyball with friends.  She had placed them in her pocket before swimming and a short time after coming ashore she noticed they both were gone.  I warned her that a snorkeler could probably see them in the clear water but hopefully the over night high tide would cover them in silt.  The area she swam in was about 50 by 25 yards in the water so I fired up the Manticore and started a grid search.  I just hunted this beach the past weekend so it was fairly sterile.  About 20 minutes into the search I got a screaming high tone in thigh deep water and in one scoop there was the Silver Bracelet in the scoop.  I marked the spot with my scoop and yelled to Fahema to come get that one while I continued the search.  I continued out to the deep side of the search then turned around for the next leg.  When I got to the spot where the Silver Bracelet was found I got a nice but growling low tone.  It took two scoops but I was relieved to see the Gold Bracelet in the scoop.  I cupped it in my hand and walked ashore to where Fahema was relaxing.  I told her to open her hand so I could do a drop.  She was obviously relieved to see the most precious of the two in her hand.  Mission accomplished.  Smiles & hugs and much Aloha to Fahema!

Lost Fancy Silver Ring at 4 Seasons Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began while I was on a Friday afternoon hunt at 4 Seasons lagoon.  Marissa & her father on vacation from South  Carolina approached me and the look on their face was « Can you help? »  I asked did you lose something and Marissa said she did a Fancy silver ring in the shallow water of the lagoon.  They pointed out the area and I began the search.  After about 20 minutes with no recovery they said « thanks for trying. »  I was like, « no hang on the beast isn’t going to miss a silver ring! »  I expanded out the grid search towards the South and on that line I got a screaming high tone and in one scoop there was Marissa’s Fancy Silver ring in the scoop.  Marissa came over and said « can I hug you and thank you so very much. »  Another vacation back on track.  Aloha to Marissa!
