Lost Yellow Gold Cartier Juste un Clou Ring at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Arjun who said his friend Milena lost her Cartier Ring and they believed it might be in the dry sand at Hilton Hawaiian Village.  They were friends from High School in Sacramento California and enjoying their Hawaii vacation on the beach.  Milena had put her ring in a wallet and then a beach bag and when she went to get it the next day it was gone.  They checked everywhere they thought possible and when it wasn’t found only the beach remained.  I told Arjun I was picking up some Sushi at Kojo’s, but when I was done, I’d grab my gear and be there in about 20 minutes.  We met at the Hot Dog truck and walked to the beach.  In route we saw no less than three other metal detectorists scanning the beach.  I told Milena & Arjun that was worrisome because that beach is detected constantly.  When we arrived in the area Milena’s friend Nathaniel drew a grid box in the sand for me and I started the hunt.  Several targets were retrieved so I was thinking if the ring was lost here we have a chance.  Then I found a nice bling ring and a Silver CZ earring.  About two thirds of the way thru the grid I got a solid centerline dot 29 on the Manticore and in one scoop there was Milena’s beautiful Cartier Juste un Clou Ring in the scoop.  I pulled the ring from the scoop and held it up so Milena’s friends on the beach could see I found the ring.  They all jumped up and came running over to see.  I think I was amazed and shocked as they were.  Several tourists on the beach began to clap and shout congrats!  Milena was back in her hotel room so her friend’s took a pic of the ring and texted her to come down to the beach.  I always hand the ring back in person just to be safe.  We had several laughs and hugs and the graduates said this really cheered up their day.  Later I got a text « Your a life saver! »  I don’t know about that but these kids sure made me feel young again.  Much « Aloha » to Colleen, Jed, Arjun, Milena, Emma & Nathaniel!

Lost White Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Braiden who happened to be on the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach, as a young lady named Laura, got bitten by a bee on her finger and as she swung her hand to get rid of the bee her White Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring flew off into the sand and disappeared.  She was in a panic state as she couldn’t find her ring and wasn’t really positive as to where it landed in the sand during her stressful bee sting moment.  Braiden agreed to meet me on the boardwalk and direct me to where Laura was.  I arrived rather quickly and Braiden was easy to spot at 6 foot 7.  When he introduced me to Laura she was still crying but still had the wherewithal to describe the event and where it should be.  I fired up the Manticore and told her to relax as there would most likely be some trash found during the hunt.  I show my clients every target I retrieve so they know I’m not going to pocket their precious item.  My first target was a piece of foil and as I showed it to Laura a look of dishearten surprise was obvious.  I told her again I would show her everything I dig.  Next target « Boom » gorgeous ring in the scoop.  « Now you can get excited » I said, as I let her retrieve her ring from my scoop.  Tears of relief flowed down her face and she gave me a giant hug of thanks.  Applause and cheers rang out from the tourists on the beach.  Vacation saved!  Aloha to Laura from Canada!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Alex who was on vacation from Middle Village, New York and staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  While running into the water with his husband Giorgio, Alex’s Yellow Gold Wedding Band fell off and disappeared.  It was 8PM but they tried for an hour with goggles and a flashlight to find the ring but couldn’t find anything.  I agreed to hunt the next morning but they had a 6AM flight to Maui.  This was going to be a recovery then mail back to New York.  I arrived at first light and started a grid search from the map Alex provided.  About ten minutes into the hunt in waist deep water I got a nice low tone on the Manticore and in one scoop there was Alex’s Gold ring glistening in the scoop.  I took a pic and texted it to Alex on Maui and he was obviously very relieved.  He just got back home from vacation today and sent me the Shaka and a Smile pose with his ring back on his finger.  Aloha to Alex & Giorgio!

Lost Gold Heirloom Wedding Band at Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began yesterday when I got a text from Malia who lives in Honolulu.  While enjoying the cool water of the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon at Hilton Hawaiian Village her precious Yellow Gold Heirloom ring fell off in waist deep water and disappeared.  Her Grandmother had given it to her and it meant the world to her.  They tried snorkeling for the ring but it was well hidden in the soft sand.  She sent me a pic of the approximate location and example of the ring.  I told her I was getting off work soon and would grab my gear and head over to the lagoon and hunt immediately.  Always a concern in Waikiki that another of the myriad of detectorists that hunt there would find it.  When I arrived parking was easy and I was able to get to the spot quickly.  Experience made me start my grid search way to the left of the red « X » Malia had put on the map.  That way I cover it all and the lagoon was fairly free of traffic and the water crystal clear even at midday.  I started finding targets I knew another detectorist would pick up so I was confident we would find the ring.  Malia had said the ring should be about 15 feet from shore in waist deep water and that wasn’t the case until I got well into the search across from the pool entrance.  Then « Boom » nice loud 13-14 on the Nox and in one scoop there was the precious Heirloom Gold Wedding Ring in the scoop.  I immediately cleaned up and texted Malia a pic.  « That’s it!!!!! » she texted back along with « Thank you so much Happy Face ».  We met at Kahala Mall this evening for the return and more Thank yous and a hug!  Always great to help local people!  Aloha to Malia!
