Courtney’s Nightmares…..

About her lost engagement ring have been haunting her for a while. Ever since last September at her sister’s Labor Day gathering reoccurring thoughts day and night overwhelm her as to its whereabouts. When will these dark thoughts stop troubling her? How long will its location be cloaked in mystery? Or will the spiritual power of the rose gold and agate stone help return it and reunite her with the new beginnings in her life? The night was dark as a velvet carpet and as she travelled to her sister’s place for Halloween, she began to have premonitions of finding her ring. Arriving to find a bonfire and trick or treaters lifted her spirits. Around the witching hour, as she sat next to the dwindling bonfire she drifted off into sleep. In a dream a man appeared with a machine that howled as he passed it along the ground. He reached down and exhumed an object and walked towards her. Placing it in her hand she was startled awake by her sister shouting BOO! trick or treat… while nudging her asking if she was ok. Courtney said yes and excitedly exclaimed that she found her ring. Where? How? the sister asked. It was here, next to the fire, I fell asleep and a man with a metal detector handed it to me! I didn’t see anyone out here the sister said and added, ok enough of the spine-tingling stories can’t you just creep things real??  Courtney said, believe whitcha want but the ring can finally rest in peace on my finger where it belongs, how’s that for a scarytale ending!

Blades of Glory…

As Larry was mowing the grass for the last time this year he was emptying the bag into some compost piles. Hours later he noticed his ring missing. Back at work the next day his wife Cindy texted me the information on the disappearance. Setting up my MXT metal detector I told her this detector will bring lawn and order back to the yard. Scanning the detector coil thru the compost piles I got a nice solid signal. Reaching thru the pile with my pin-pointer I got a location and pulled out Larry’s ring! Handing it to Cindy I held my detector coil up to the brim of my hat to say goodbye and she said thanks for the cutting-edge service…. I said, my pleasure, it’s been a lawn time coming.

Where the Water Meets the Sand……

Was the partial voicemail left by Haida who texted next that she and a friend were picking up beach shells and driftwood when her ring fell off her finger. It was a very special ring, one that her sister had just presented to her for graduation. Getting too dark to search further, she went home and was hoping that her sister didn’t notice the ring missing. We met the next morning and Haida with her friend relocated where they remembered being. I noticed patterns on the sand where the tides gently rolled across the sand overnight. I began a grid search with my MXT metal detector at the water’s edge. Working in towards shore I sank into the sand almost a foot deep, it was very loose with rough edged granules. Getting a good signal, I started to sift thru the sand with my pin-pointer metal detector and felt it buzz next to my hand. Slowly bringing the scoop of sand up Haida’s ring revealed itself! Haida and her friend were up on solid ground with their backs turned so I just stood there holding the ring up. When they turned around, I never saw anyone run as fast to get their ring! Thinking it was lost forever Haida was extremely happy that it wasn’t, and now she’ll always stay in good standing with her sister through every high and low tide.

A Fist Pump Serve…..

….was all Dennis could hope for as he spiked the ball down to score the winning point on the volleyball court as darkness fell upon the game. With a successful win the players congratulated one another with high 5’s and danced around on the court. After Dennis got home he noticed his ring missing. Rushing back to the court he looked around in the dark with no luck. On site he showed me what went on. I had 3 places the ring could be. Either side of the court or the opposite side of the court out in the thick grass. I elected to start in the area he was standing when the final serve was given. My MXT metal detector was wanting to score but gave no signals until I was right under the net. A very nice signal came thru. Pushing thru the sand with my pin-pointer metal detector revealed his ring! Dennis was totally surprised that the ring was there and felt even more victorious that this meeting at the net scored another memorable victory of a different kind that will last a lifetime.

Spooky Gold….

…’Twas the night of all hallows eve when Dan gathered his brood dressed to ward off ghosts and headed to a vacant piece of land where they and some neighbors were hoping for a spooktacular evening next to a bonfire and meeting new people trick or treating. Sipping on some beverages and handing out candy the evening was going well until Dan noticed his ring missing. Now in the darkness he searched frantically and even with having quite a few children help it was not found. He wondered where it could have gone to, having been standing in the same spot all evening thinking…. did it fall off into someone’s candy bag? Did a real ghost or goblin take it? Selling his soul to the devil to find out wasn’t an option. He even bought a magic wand (toy type metal detector) hoping for some luck but to no avail. I arrived the next day and under dark ominous skies began grid searching the small area with my MXT metal detector. A few signals came up as 6.66 inches deep on the detector’s depth meter, but I knew these were false reads trying to trick me into believing it was the ring. Those signals were no match for the MXT metal detector, because a few sweeps later I got a great signal. Reaching down thru the trampled grass revealed Dan’s ring! He was thrilled that it was recovered and loved my metal detector. He asked how did I find his ring so fast? I said nothing spooks louder than having the right tool for the job, but the devil in me really made me do it!
