*** Jordan found my contact online two hours after losing a gold bracelet in playing volleyball in the sand. She was at San Onofre State Beach, San Clement, CA.  She said she would stay there till I arrived.

I met her on the beach within a hour.

She and her sister have the same bracelet which she was able to show me before I began the search. It was quite big and should have been easy to find without a detector.  After a short time I was able to find the gold bracelet. It was hiding under the volleyball boundary lines which is about an inch and a half wide.

She was definitely relieved as everybody in her party was confused that such a large piece of jewelry could not been found after they searched for a couple hours with a dozen people before asking for professional help.

It always feels good to come in and be successful.. To be truthful, sometimes it’s just not there.

**** Chris and Laura are from Georgia, they had just finished a road trip down the coast of California. Spending  the last day of their trip by enjoying the ocean sitting on the sand at Newport Beach, CA. Their day was upset by the loss of Laura’s platinum with diamonds wedding ring set.

When I received the call I had just finished another ring recovery 20 miles away. They were staying at a hotel very close to the location where they believed the loss occurred. So it helped that they could be there to guide me to the general area.

We began the search just as the sun was setting. They believed the rings were lost about 3pm that afternoon. My concern was they had set up their beach chairs on the wet sand. The rings would not have been buried as easily as if had been soft sand. After three or four hours with many people on the beach, someone could have visually found them..

After triple cross gridding and expanding the search area it was dark. I was running out of places to search. Both Chris and Laura were ready to give up. I told them I could not leave with good conscious until I did a couple passes on the upper soft sand. Half way into my second pass I got a strong signal, dug into the sand with my scoop. It was dark so I reached into the sand that was in my scoop and felt a large diamond ring. I knew it had to be one of the rings I was looking for.

I held the ring up for Chris and Laura to see but they didn’t realize I had found their ring. They still had the sad look , that the rings were lost forever. Then I said out loud, I found the big ring. (2.67ct. Diamond/ platinum ring). It was a priceless moment, I can’t explain with words.

I took a few seconds more to swing the detector over the same area hoping to get the wedding band, no signal. Then I had second thought, I reached into my scoop and there was the wedding band lying flat in the bottom of the scoop. I had dug both at the same time. They had not remembered that they first set on the upper beach for a couple minutes before moving to the wet sand location.

A very happy couple that could finish their special vacation with a happy ending. It was a special search with emotions up and down. It was a pleasure to meet and help both Laura and Chris.

Custom Rings by James Avery Lost at the Montage Resort .. Laguna Beach, CA .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Wade sent me an email in the early morning, actually 12:30 am. He had spent several hours searching the sands at the beach in front of the Montage Resort, Laguna Beach, CA.
His niece, Sydney had put her James Avery rings, a gift from her grandparents, in a pocket of her beach chair. She didn’t realize till they returned to their hotel room that the rings were missing.
I talked to Wade, who told me what had happened and that they would be leaving for the airport to fly back to Houston, Texas soon. We were able to meet the family on the beach an hour before they were to leave. Wade’s niece, Sydney was so upset that she could not leave her room. He put 4 items at the corners of what he thought was the location they were the day before.
I started the grid search in the center rotating to the outside. When I got to a tee shirt which marked one of the corners, there were two high tone signals right below the marker.. I knew it had to be the rings. One scoop in the sand proved to be the two unique rings.
The whole family was elated. Uncle Wade was a hero for staying awake the night before searching the Internet for TheRingFinders.com.
Another beautiful day and a happy family returning to Texas after great vacation on one of our most beautiful beaches here in Laguna Beach, CA.
