Steps to help find a lost ring…Found in Martinez, CA

  • from Walnut Creek (California, United States)

Loosing a ring is very much more common than people would imagine and the loss of a ring can be very disheartening for any number of reasons.  It is perfectly natural and okay to freak out for a moment, but what you do next could mean the difference in recovering the ring or not ever seeing this precious object again.  The following are my thoughts as to what your best course of action should be should this happen to you.

Determine when and where the ring was lost.

  • Date
  • Time
  • Location
  • Activity
  • Note any land marks that may help get back to this location.

Call the experts and get help early

  • The Ring Finders is a world wide network of helpful professionals… go to theringfinders.com
  • In most cases the earlier you can get help, the more likely there will be a positive outcome
  • Give the above information to your expert searcher

Retrace your Steps

  • Make note of possible locations and landmarks
  • Find a way to mark likely locations (photos or GPS works well)

Get the word out (In the event that the ring could easily have been found by others)

  • Post a LOST flier in and around the area
  • Create a listing on Craigslist (Lost and Found) also don’t forget to look for FOUND listings while there.
  • Social Media may have lost ring sites like on Facebook
  • Contact local law enforcement (non-emergency) to file a report

File an Insurance Claim

  • When this is an option, you can always cancel if the ring is found

Remember to never loose hope!  Ring recoveries are made every day and it is not uncommon for people to find and return these valuable and sentimental objects long after they have gone missing.  You can increase this chance by having names and (or) dates inscribed inside them. If you are reading this blog post and have contacted someone from theringfinders.com, you are already on your way to a successful outcome.  My condolences for your loss and I wish you the very best of luck in making the recovery!!!

My first Ringfinder return!

  • from Deerfield Beach (Florida, United States)

Nov 30, 2022

Today, I went to the beach to do some searching when I was approached by a lovely young lady named Antonia. She said hi, at first I didn’t think she was talking to me. Then she explained she lost her earring a couple days before and gave me the general area. I told her I’d be glad to look, but I know people with detectors frequently come to that beach. Well, needless to say I found it in like 2 minutes. Antonia was so happy. Thank you for being my first ringfinder return Antonia!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band – FOUND! Mt. Lebanon near Pittsburgh

  • from Indiana (Pennsylvania, United States)

Lost your ring, other valuable jewelry, cellphone, keys, or other metal object…call or text Brian Carpenter at (814)244-2300 as soon as possible. I am a ring recovery specialist serving Pittsburgh, Indiana (PA), and most of Western PA.

I received a phone call from a young lady who said her husband lost his wedding band in a park near the Mr. Lebanon high school on Thanksgiving Eve. It was late afternoon and it was about an hour and a half to the park and it would be dark before I could get there, but I set out to see if I could find it. As it turns out the couple was visiting family in the area and took the dog to the park to play ball. First throw and there went the ball and the wedding band!

I got to the park and started my search in the area they thought the ring might be. I came up empty…but I was just getting started. I encouraged the couple to go and visit with their family as I thought I might be in for a long search and reluctantly they went to do so, kindly not wanting to leave me there alone in the park which I really appreciated. I decided it was time to expand my search area and picked a new marker to start from and as luck would have it I found the ring, about 10 feet from where I had started. I called and reported that I had found the ring, I do not think they even had time to get around the corner. It was awesome to be able to return the lost ring and they were ecstatic to have it back. As always, it was great to recover the ring and meet such nice and generous folks, just another reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving holiday!

Just got a call from a lady who’s husband has lost his ring. He was hand digging a French drain around the foundation to try to keep most of the water from getting into their basement. He lost it yesterday and they haven’t been able to find it.

I went right over and he showed me the search area. I got started and as expected there were tons of signals around their older house. But, miraculously, in only about 10 minutes, I got a solid ring tone, dug into the frozen ice and slush about 2 inches, and there it was in perfect condition!

They were both so happy and declared that they were “married again”!!

It’s back where it belongs, right on his finger, and he got right back to diggin!

Katie called me after someone on FaceBook recommended me, thank you to whoever that was. She was in her backyard throwing a ball when she lost her engagement ring. She searched for days with no luck. Then she resorted to social media.

Friday was the day I could search, so we set up a date. Katie couldn’t be there but her mom would be. Katie describe to me over text messages where she was in the yard and in what direction she was throwing the ball.

I started near the middle of the tear and did a grid pattern in the north direction. I was getting a few deeper targets and just passed them by. About 20 minutes into the search I got a good signal in the range that small gold rings should be. I pulled back the ring and there was the ring I was looking for. It looked like it was stepped on and it was embedded in the mud, sideways.

When I showed Katie’s mom she couldn’t believe it. She said Katie would be so happy.

Lost Earring Cedar Grove NJ…. FOUND!!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
🍂🦃Shout out to John Favno, The South Jersey Ring Finder, for this lead!🦃🍂

John called me on Monday about a hunt that was just too far from his location. He gave me Dana’s number and I called her when I got off the phone with John. Dana had lost an earring while putting up her Christmas decorations. She checked to see if her earrings were still in place, as she often does, and only the back of her earring was still stuck to her ear. She had been going back and forth to the garage getting decorations for her back deck and had lost it somewhere along the way. She searched high and low and was only able to find the earring jacket. Her neighbors also came over to help hunt with a searchlight and still no luck. When I arrived on Thursday, she showed me the area she had been working in and also showed me where she found the jacket. It was a SUPER difficult hunt because there was tons of competing metal in the area, landscape lighting, paver barriers, and a ton of other stuff. So, I had to use my small 6-inch coil and go really, really slowly to rule out all sorts of other stuff. Thankfully after about 30 minutes of searching, I was able to locate the earring in a small pile of rocks and return it to Dana. It was probably one of the best starts to a Thanksgiving ever!! 🙂

Columbia, Maryland Resident Loses Wedding Band While Taking Out Trash…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tim’s irreplaceable platinum wedding band that was lost while taking the garbage out and successfully returned to him by ring finder, Brian Rudolph.

Tim could not have been happier to contact a member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph who successfully found the platinum wedding band in the grass.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

One night, Tim was taking his garbage out to the curb when he felt his platinum wedding band slip off of his finger and land somewhere in the grass below. He searched with his phone light for a very long time but he couldn’t find his precious keepsake anywhere.

For the next two weeks, Tim searched every morning and every evening to see if he could finally recover his irreplaceable band, but unfortunately all of his efforts still led to no avail.

Tim eventually gave up the hunt and took to the internet to seek out a possible solution to his problem. Happily, he found THE RING FINDERS – an elite international directory of metal detecting specialist who find lost rings and other important items for their clients.

After Tim and I got acquainted on the phone, we set up a time for me to come out to his Columbia, Maryland neighborhood to see if I could recover Tim’s special platinum wedding band that had gone missing for over 2 weeks.

When I arrived at the search site, my client showed me where he dropped off the garbage and approximately the location where the ring slipped off of his finger as he was walking back to his house. In all honesty, I was a bit concerned that the ring might have been eyeballed by a neighbor just because there was so little area to search and the grass was not very dense to easily hide such a piece of jewelry from human eyes.

As soon as I finished gathering all of the facts, I returned to my car to retrieve the necessary metal detecting equipment to conduct the search. I first laid down some grid lanes so that I would not miss any of the territory that I would be scanning. Then, I began metal detecting the section of common area that was out near the curb. Within a matter of minutes, I am proud to share that I was able to successfully recover Tim’s very handsome platinum wedding band that was placed on his finger by his wife Kathleen just a few years prior!

Tim could not have been happier that he contacted a member of THE RING FINDERS! My client recognized the fact that had he not called me for help, his sentimental keepsake would have never been worn on his ring finger ever again!

Lost 10th Year Wedding Anniversary Ring After Watermelon Rind Throw…Found in Middle River, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Metal detectorist and member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph, found this lovely 10 karat white gold 10th year wedding anniversary diamond ring for Stephanie after throwing a watermelon rind.

Stephanie and Mike excitedly show off their smiles and Stephanie’s beautiful 10 karat white gold 10th year wedding anniversary diamond ring recovered by ring finder Brian Rudolph.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from Stephanie who was simply heartbroken about the loss of her 10 karat white gold 10th year wedding anniversary diamond ring. She was throwing watermelon rinds off of her second story deck out towards the back of her property when her precious keepsake flew off of her finger. The watermelon leftovers mostly landed on the other side of the fence where a water runoff is located. That section is considered common land and anyone can walk back there.

Stephanie immediately went out looking for her sentimental keepsake and no matter how much she searched, there was no ring to be found. She spent hours out there with tears in her eyes hoping to spot the diamond filled piece of precious metal. Yet, all of her valiant efforts still led to no avail.

When the poor young lady wasn’t able to find the anniversary ring, her husband Mike went out with a metal detector that he bought that day and he too could not « pull the rabbit out of the hat ». That’s when Stephanie looked online and found the elite international metal detectorist directory founded by CEO Chris Turner called THE RING FINDERS. She looked up the local ring finders in her area and my name popped up.

It was such a joy talking with Stephanie over the phone and getting the entire account of what happened to her beautiful 10 karat white gold diamond ring. I told her that I couldn’t wait to get over to the property and help recover the lost piece of jewelry for the couple.

Later that evening, I arrived at Stephanie’s Middle River, Maryland house to conduct the search. The young woman reenacted exactly what happened and Mike shared where he metal detected on both sides of the fence. First, I laid grid lanes down on the back lawn and metal detected their entire backyard. Though Stephanie thought that she saw the ring fly towards the fence, I wanted to metal detect the easiest portion of the property before having to deal with the metal fence and the high grass that was on the other side of the chain link divider.

When I could not find the ring on the lawn, I packed up all of my gear and went to the other side of the fence and began searching all around that area. I found multiple pieces of watermelon rinds and I kept my scanning in that particular vicinity. It was a mess back there but I diligently detected every square inch that I could with all of the weeds and high grass that made life extremely difficult for me.

My last leg of the search had to do with switching my metal detector coil down to a smaller size coil In order for me to detect closer along the fence line. At that point in my investigation, I concluded that Stephanie must have been accurate in her remembrance that she thought she saw the ring go through the fence or over the fence. Since I couldn’t find the piece of jewelry anywhere else, I was pretty certain that I would find the ring somewhere close up against the chain link fence area.

As it turned out, I did in fact find Stephanie’s gorgeous 10 karat white gold diamond ring right up against the bottom of the chain link fence on the common property side of the divider. No one would have been able to find the MIA jewel unless they used a couple of detectors and special techniques to find « separation » between the metal fence and where the ring was buried below the grass line. I was so excited that I zeroed in on the right signal that I had been looking for all along! When my eyes beheld that beautiful piece of gold that had endless diamonds encrusted all around its lovely shell, my happiness for Stephanie could not be contained!

Stephanie and Mike were beyond elated with the news that I was able to recover the 10th wedding anniversary treasure! Just like when Stephanie expressed her emotions on the phone earlier that day, she once again broke down in tears of joy with so much gratitude in her heart for what I was able to accomplish for the couple that evening! It was all well worth the trip to Middle River, Maryland to rescue that irreplaceable keepsake! Especially after seeing the two brilliant smiles of my clients once again appear upon their countenances!

Wedding Band Goes Missing While Germantown, Maryland Resident Rakes Leaves…Found by Ring Finder

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Jim’s 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band recovered by metal detectorist Brian Rudolph, a proud member of THE RING FINDERS.

Moments after ring finder Brian Rudolph recovers the gold wedding band in the bushes under some leaves, Jim excitedly displays his very special « symbol of love ».

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Jim lost his original wedding band somewhere on his property decades ago. He acquired a replacement ring and then recently that too fell off of his finger. But this time, Jim was not about to let that happen again!

It was the perfect afternoon to rake leaves around Jim’s lawn. He was clearing the leaves in the bushes located in the front of the house when his 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band slipped off of his finger and landed somewhere under the leaves that were yet to be raked.

Jim stopped what he was doing and searched for the precious piece of metal that he had personally witnessed sliding off his hand. 30 minutes later, the exhausted gentleman decided to call it quits. However, he was determined to not lose another ring like his first one that disappeared on his property. Jim went to the internet and searched for a metal detecting service. Immediately, one of my stories that I published on THE RING FINDERS website popped up and that’s when Jim called me for help.

Within 45 minutes I arrived at my client’s house. He showed me the spot in his front flower bed area where he lost the ring somewhere in the bushes. That was all I needed to know before grabbing out of the car my necessary gear to use for this particular search.

I put a 6 inch coil at the bottom of my detector shaft so that I could work in and around the well confined spaces in the bushes. Within 10 minutes, in the midst of picking up several potential signals, I received one in particular one that seemed pretty convincing. It was coming from under one of the bushes about two feet from where Jim thought he had lost his ring.

After putting my handheld pinpointer down in the very dense area of shrubs and plant life to investigate that one target, I was a able to successfully identify that object as being Jim’s beloved replacement wedding band! I pinched the yellow gold « halo » between my fingers and happily presented to Jim his beloved symbol of the marriage covenant that was made between he and his wife Judy many years earlier!

My client was extremely satisfied that he chose to contact a professional ring finder and that an elite international directory of metal detectorists exists out there…THE RING FINDERS!

Lost Diamond Engagement Ring and Wedding Band After Apple Throw…Found in Annapolis, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Pam’s 14 karat white gold 1 carat diamond engagement ring and 14 carat white gold diamond wedding band – both recovered by ring finder Brian Rudolph.

Pam could not be happier as she holds up her two cherished sentimental keepsakes that were successfully recovered by proud member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from a woman named Pam who lost both her 14 karat white gold, 1 carat diamond engagement ring and her 14 carat white gold half infinity-style diamond wedding band.

She was driving into her neighborhood when she threw an apple out of her window in order to feed some deer that always hang out on the grass on the opposite side of the road. When Pam released the apple, both of her precious keepsakes went flying off of her finger!

Pam heard a « clink » sound coming from the direction of the pavement on the opposite lane of the street. It appeared that one or both rings had ended up hitting the concrete. The woman panicked and immediately pulled over to the side of the road in order to seek after her « jettisoned » jewelry. With all of Pam’s efforts to try to recover her lost rings out there in the dark, sadly she was unable to find even one of her possessions.

Early the next morning, Pam and her housekeeper returned once more to the search site to see if they could find the two sentimental keepsakes. However, after a very long time of combing over the road, curb and grassy areas (without stepping in the grass in fear that the rings would be pushed down into the ground), the two ladies finally gave up and returned back to Pam’s estate.

Though Pam was extremely disappointed and perplexed at the disappearance of her very special diamond engagement ring and diamond wedding band, she was not about to give up by any means. The young lady went online and looked for a metal detecting service in Annapolis, Maryland. One of my ring finding articles that I published on THE RING FINDERS website popped up on her screen and immediately Pam reached out to me by phone.

Later that morning, I drove out to the search site to meet up with Pam who showed me the « scene of the crime ». The woman was extremely helpful in showing me how she drove by and approximately where she threw the apple. My client even pointed out the apple which had landed up in the grass on the opposite side of the road. This was a very important piece of evidence which would help me narrow the section that I needed to metal detect.

Once I got all of the details, I returned to my car and retrieved all of the necessary metal detecting gear that I would use for the ring search. My biggest concern was that one or both rings ended up being picked up by an oncoming vehicle’s tire sometime during the night or in the early morning hours before Pam and the housekeeper arrived. It’s very easy to miss these little « halos » out on the street or in parking lots. So it was quite possible that Pam just did not see one or both of the rings while she diligently searched that night.

Once I made sure that there were no pieces of jewelry in the road or along the curb, I scanned the grassy areas starting closest to the curb and worked my way down the street. I made several passes (or grid lanes) that were approximately 60 feet in length. Each time that I finished another lane, I moved up the grassy incline another 4 feet and started a new pass.

I encountered quite a few potential signals during my search out there along the road. However, each time that I checked out the curious target at hand, it would end up being either a bottle cap or some small piece of scrap aluminum. I didn’t give up.

At some point, I hit another fantastic target signal that was located 25 feet from where the apple came to rest. I knelt down on the ground and used my pinpointer to identify the exact spot of where the piece of metal was resting. I am excited to share that I did in fact recover the lost diamond engagement ring! It was absolutely exquisite looking! Pam was down the street looking around the curbside areas when I discovered the special keepsake. I continued with hope that I would find the wedding band some place nearby to where I recovered the engagement ring. I so hoped it had made its way to the grass and not picked up by a tire.

I thought, ‘The odds that both rings made it across the road and that at least one bounced and still made it into the grass was very minimal at best to believe’. But I kept my hope alive that perhaps the wedding band traveled farther up the hill. Well, that wish certainly came to fruition because I did in fact get another great signal coming from my detector and it turned out to be Pam’s beautiful half infinity-style diamond wedding band! It was found about 3 feet away from the other ring and farther up the hill! I rejoiced within me knowing that my client would soon be reunited with her irreplaceable jewelry!

Pam could not have been happier to be handed her amazing rings and I thanked the Lord for answering our prayer that we lifted up to God before I began the search! What a wonderful moment that was to preserve more « symbols of love » and to allow for these special stories to continue through Pam’s family line from here on out!
