Lost Ring Pensacola Beach – FOUND!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

This was a neat story.  A nice lady on the beach at the Portofino Condos in Pensacola Beach stopped me and said that she wished I had been there a couple of days earlier.  I asked her why and she proceeded to explain that BOTH of her sons had lost their wedding bands in the gulf within minutes of each other just a couple of days before.  I asked her if anyone had looked for them and she said no one had with a metal detector.  I explained about Ringfinders and told her what I did and told her that even though I really wished she had called me a few days earlier, there was still a chance I could find them.  Well, long story short I was able to find her son Jacob’s but not his brother Zach’s.  I spent hours looking for Zach’s and even came back two more days to look but unfortunately I was only able to find Jacob’s.  I had to mail it back to Memphis, TN but as you can see by the picture, Jacob was thrilled when he realized it was really his ring in the mail.  Zach had some closure and appreciated me looking and has promised to call immediately if he ever loses something valuable again.  Congrats Jacob on getting your ring back!

Lost Ring Orange Beach – Found!

Today was a great day!  I was on the way to pick up my son when Josh from North Alabama called.  Josh was frantic because he had lost his wedding band in the gulf a few hours earlier while throwing football with a family member.  His wife said not to bother even calling because they were in waist deep water and she thought it was a lost cause.  Josh looked up Ringfinders and got my number and decided to take a chance.  I am so glad he did!  The best part of today was that my son got to go and see what I do for people.  When I finally found it, I let my son hand it to Josh and my boy has not stopped talking about « how happy they were ».  Now he completely understands why I like finding things for people they thought were lost forever.  So Nice to meet you and your family Josh.  I am so glad I was able to find your wedding ring.

I was detecting on the beach when I had a nice man come up and ask if I could help them.  His friend Kelly had dropped his wedding band in neck deep water 5 hrs earlier.  Kelly was so upset that they couldn’t find his ring that he’d had on his finger for 25 years that he went to the room to lay down.  I started my grid search and a couple of his friends called him while I was on my first pass.  I went until I was neck deep and started back towards the shore and heard the unmistakable sound of gold.   It took several scoops since I was so deep and I was being moved around a lot but on the 4th scoop I had it in there. Within ten minutes I had found what had been lost in the Gulf of Mexico for hours.   Needless to say the whole group was amazed and thrilled.  I am so happy that I could put the ring back where it belongs.
