The ring that didn't get away Vacationing on Hilton Head SC.

  • from Hilton Head Island (South Carolina, United States)

Tom was relaxing on his balcony while enjoying the beautiful weather on Hilton Head Island. Toms wedding band was irritating him slightly and he placed his ring on his pinky finger. While Tom was relaxing, he fiddled with his ring and felt it slip off his pinky finger, as he went to grab the ring it dropped from sight. A second later he heard the distinctive sound of a piece of metal hitting a tin roof. Tom and others searched for quite sometime before he felt it maybe gone forever. Tom came across theringfinders and sent me a text. I couldn’t get there that day and set it up for a few days later. Finally, Tom and I met up and he showed me the area where his balcony is, and I immediately began asking questions. Tom had told me this would be his second lost wedding band if not found. His first lost ring was let’s say completely unrecoverable. Well, I wasn’t about to let this happen!!!

Based on all the questions I asked, I guesstimated a potential spot where it may have landed. I fired up the Deus 2 and set my settings. My second pass went over a solid 86 tone. I swung it a couple more times as I thought nah, this isn’t it…… and as I did, I moved the pine needles and seen the distinct glint of gold………………………..BANG BABY! I looked up at Tom and said, found it ! It literally took me 10 seconds; Tom was extremely relieved, and happy. This one didn’t get away!!!!
