I got a late text last week from Aramis — he had lost a very special and important ring the evening before at Carpinteria State Beach. He had a general idea of where the loss had occurred, so I headed out hoping for an easy recovery. When I got to the beach it was packed! We’ve been much warmer than normal the past week, so everyone who could get out to the beach in Carpinteria had done just that. An easy recovery just became a lot more difficult.

Aramis mentioned the area was by a hole dug in the sand. Unfortunately, this stretch of beach had about 8 holes, and next to each one were kids playing. He mentioned something incredibly important, though — a purple towel that had been left behind in the sand, and he really thought it was near there. After zig-zagging around people for an hour, I got to my last hole, and wouldn’t you know it, buried in the sand and barely visible was a purple towel. Two minutes later I got a great-sounding tone on my Minelab Manticore, and I scooped up Aramis’s ring! Another ring recovery in the sand by Dave The RingFinder!

A Swiss Visitor’s Engagement Ring, Recovered Near the Santa Barbara Pier

Late last Saturday night I got an urgent phone call from a number listed from Switzerland. It was from Irina, who had been visiting Santa Barbara on holiday from Switzerland and had lost her engagement ring near the Santa Barbara Pier. I told her I would get out there Sunday afternoon, as I had another ring to look for in the morning.

I convinced my wife she should come to the beach in SB with me, so we got out to the Pier and it was packed with visitors, as was Cabrillo Blvd, since there was a street fair going on at Chase Palm Park. With people everywhere, it was going to be a fun search. Thankfully, the area where she thought she’d lost it was on the north side of the pier and it’s usually not very crowded, so I got to work and began a grid parallel to the pier. There were coins everywhere, so I knew no one had detected this area in a long time — I was confident no one had beat me to Irina’s ring. On my second pass, I got a nice low hit on my Minelab Manticore, and in my scoop was a beautiful white gold engagement ring. I sent her a picture to confirm it was hers, and the response was an enthusiastic yes!

Irina had already left the area and was now in Newport Beach, so I got her address, insured her ring, and mailed it to her. Two days later, her ring was back where it belonged. This is what Irina had to say:

« I honestly can’t say enough good things about this experience! I lost my ring while I was in Santa Barbara and was so upset and worried that I would never see it again. I called Dave, and he came to the rescue! He was incredibly kind, professional, and determined to help me find it, and he actually DID!

What made the whole experience even more amazing was that his wife and him went the extra mile and shipped the ring back to me. I am beyond grateful for their kindness, honesty, and generosity.

This wasn’t just about finding a lost ring; it was about two wonderful people who genuinely cared and went above and beyond to help a stranger. I will never forget their kindness. If you ever lose something precious, I highly recommend Dave. Truly an amazing story and an amazing couple! ❤️? »

Real-Life Ring Recovery Story: Marina Beach Park Success.
On Labor Day evening, Cheryl contacted Dave, distraught because her husband lost his wedding ring while boogie boarding at Marina Beach Park in Ventura. The ring, loose from frequent beach trips, slipped off during a tumble in the surf. Cheryl usually safeguarded it, but this time, both were caught off guard by a big wave.Since the ring was lost in the surf, Dave planned a search during the low tide at 2:45 AM Friday to avoid the heavy shorebreak. Marina Park’s bowl-shaped beach meant shifting sands could bury the ring deeper, so timing was critical. Dave promised to pray for its safe return and began gridding the beach at low tide.Working alone in the early hours, Dave split the beach into sections, focusing on the left side where Cheryl’s husband was boogie boarding. After 35 minutes with no targets, he moved to the north side. On his third pass, a pull-tab tone led to a men’s wedding band in his CKG scoop. Unsure if it was the right ring, Dave continued searching until 3:45 AM, finding no other targets. He sent a photo to Cheryl, went home to rest, and at 7:00 AM, Cheryl confirmed with joy—it was her husband’s ring!

A Recent Rescue at Harbor Cove Beach
VenturaLate Sunday evening,  Jennifer from out of town texted Dave in a panic. Her husband’s wedding ring slipped off while they were enjoying a sunny day at Harbor Cove Beach in Ventura Harbor. The family searched frantically but soon realized they needed a professional with a metal detector. Dave, despite another call, promised to be there at first light Monday morning to recover the ring. Since the family lived far away, Dave agreed to mail the ring back if found, as he’s done for others.Arriving at Harbor Cove Beach before dawn, Dave had the beach to himself—except for a few crows. He gridded the area where the family thought the ring was lost but found nothing. Expanding his search toward the jetty rocks, he navigated through thick metal debris from old beach fires.
Finally, a clear tone stood out among the rusty bottle caps. With his CKG scoop, Dave unearthed the beautiful wedding ring. He texted Jennifer the good news, and by 9 a.m., the ring was on its way back to the overjoyed couple.

How to Find a Lost Ring in Santa Barbara – Expert Help from Dave The Ring Finder
Lost a ring in Santa Barbara? Don’t panic—call or text Dave The Ring Finder at 805-290-5009 for fast, professional help. Whether it’s a ring lost on the beach or misplaced at home, I’m here to recover your precious jewelry as a proud member of The Ring Finders network!
Recently, I received a text from a Santa Barbara resident who preferred to stay anonymous. She’d lost something irreplaceable: a small decorative box containing three rings and a diamond necklace. The missing items included her husband’s gold band, her white gold wedding ring, a jade ring—a sentimental gift from years ago—and a necklace with the diamond from her engagement ring. This wasn’t just jewelry; it was a treasure chest of her life’s memories, kept in her living room for years until it vanished.
She was devastated and convinced she’d searched everywhere. While my metal detecting gear excels outdoors, indoor searches pose challenges due to household metal and EMF interference. Still, I offered my expertise as an experienced searcher to tackle this mystery. We met at her Santa Barbara home, and I suggested we sit at her kitchen table—a calm spot to think clearly. Together, we listed every possible location for the box, planning to search each spot thoroughly and cross it off once cleared. This methodical approach helps clients stay focused when stress clouds their judgment.
One spot on the list was a large bookshelf in her living room. At first glance, it seemed unlikely, but we noticed the shelves were deep and shadowy. A closer look was worth it—and there, tucked in the back atop a row of books, was the small wooden box, blending perfectly with its surroundings. Inside were her rings and necklace, safe and sound! The relief and joy in that moment were palpable as she reclaimed her cherished pieces.
Finding a lost ring in Santa Barbara—or anywhere—often feels like detective work. It takes patience, a clear plan, and sometimes a fresh perspective. That’s where I come in.
